etc._n that_o marriage_n be_v honourable_a in_o all_o man_n though_o as_o holy_a as_o adam_n be_v before_o his_o fall_n but_o popery_n teach_v we_o that_o at_o sometime_o of_o the_o year_n marriage_n be_v unlawful_a for_o all_o man_n and_o at_o all_o time_n for_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o word_n in_o regard_n of_o their_o holy_a function_n the_o scripture_n teach_v we_o that_o every_o soul_n ought_v to_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o high_a power_n and_o to_o honour_v the_o king_n &c_n &c_n and_o that_o whosoever_o resist_v such_o power_n resist_v the_o ordinance_n of_o god_n but_o popery_n i_o say_v be_v not_o willing_a enough_o to_o these_o and_o the_o like_a 3_o yea_o but_o it_o be_v object_v that_o our_o religion_n teach_v faith_n only_o to_o justify_v without_o work_n and_o that_o therefore_o our_o religion_n be_v a_o doctrine_n of_o ease_n and_o liberty_n and_o so_o consequent_o more_o please_a the_o natural_a man_n then_o popery_n which_o require_v many_o number_n of_o prayer_n noâ—_n to_o god_n only_o but_o also_o to_o saint_n many_o great_a journey_n in_o pilgrimage_n many_o offering_n to_o the_o church_n many_o alm_n many_o good_a work_n many_o merit_n etc._n etc._n i_o answer_v first_o acknowledge_v that_o we_o teach_v indeed_o that_o faith_n only_o justifi_v even_o without_o any_o work_n whatsoever_o yet_o be_v this_o faith_n more_o hard_a to_o the_o natural_a man_n then_o all_o before_o mention_v to_o be_v teach_v and_o require_v by_o popery_n for_o this_o say_v that_o we_o teach_v must_v have_v knowledge_n of_o god_n &_o of_o he_o who_o he_o have_v send_v as_o also_o of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o that_o as_o they_o be_v reveal_v in_o the_o word_n and_o likewise_o of_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n in_o his_o word_n particular_o teach_v it_o must_v also_o apply_v these_o thing_n particular_o to_o every_o man_n his_o particular_a self_n second_o though_o we_o say_v that_o good_a work_n be_v not_o necessary_a as_o cause_n of_o justification_n yet_o we_o do_v utge_v true_a good_a work_n not_o such_o as_o the_o papist_n commend_v more_o strait_o than_o they_o do_v &_o teach_v they_o to_o be_v more_o necessary_a as_o effect_n &_o fruit_n of_o justification_n and_o such_o as_o without_o which_o there_o be_v no_o salvation_n for_o we_o say_v that_o he_o that_o have_v not_o eternal_a life_n begin_v in_o he_o hear_v that_o river_n of_o oil_n what_o be_v so_o precious_a though_o it_o be_v the_o first_o fruit_n of_o a_o man_n his_o own_o body_n what_o be_v so_o laborious_a &_o painful_a though_o it_o be_v the_o cut_n of_o himself_o with_o knife_n &_o lancre_n as_o the_o priest_n of_o baal_n do_v or_o the_o whip_n of_o himself_o till_o the_o blood_n follow_v or_o the_o pine_a of_o himself_o by_o long_o fast_v or_o at_o least_o by_o live_v only_o of_o bread_n &_o water_n and_o by_o lie_v in_o woollen_a &_o upon_o bare_a board_n or_o take_v no_o rest_n many_o year_n together_o but_o only_o stand_v as_o many_o old_a monk_n mention_v by_o socrates_n and_o sozomen_n be_v wont_a to_o do_v &_o some_o foolish_a papist_n yet_o do_v what_o i_o say_v of_o all_o these_o be_v such_o that_o a_o natural_a man_n will_v not_o
