and_o preserve_v in_o they_o inclination_n which_o be_v the_o principle_n of_o their_o act_n no_o considerate_a man_n dare_v say_v that_o god_n can_v give_v a_o operative_a inclination_n for_o one_o single_a act_n as_o well_o as_o for_o one_o species_n of_o act_n without_o which_o it_o be_v impossible_a to_o explicate_v his_o dominion_n and_o therefore_o he_o may_v well_o give_v the_o effectual_a inclination_n to_o embrace_v the_o offer_n of_o conversion_n without_o give_v the_o habit_n for_o exert_v all_o the_o act_n of_o faith_n which_o be_v no_o less_o a_o christian_a virtue_n or_o grace_n than_o love_n or_o any_o other_o and_o there_o be_v nothing_o can_v more_o clear_o difference_n the_o save_a act_n of_o faith_n from_o be_v a_o act_n of_o holiness_n or_o a_o work_n of_o the_o law_n yea_o if_o any_o require_v the_o accuracy_n of_o the_o school_n they_o will_v find_v there_o be_v a_o disposition_n difference_v from_o a_o habit._n this_o objection_n do_v also_o occur_v that_o acceptance_n of_o a_o offer_n be_v no_o act_n of_o believe_v for_o which_o there_o be_v no_o ground_n for_o the_o acceptance_n must_v imply_v the_o sense_n of_o a_o motion_n to_o repent_v or_o of_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n the_o most_o learned_a and_o most_o accurate_a in_o all_o church_n and_o all_o way_n have_v be_v perplex_v in_o think_v how_o god_n will_v decree_v to_o reject_v damn_v and_o eternal_o torment_v a_o great_a part_n of_o his_o rational_a creature_n for_o that_o which_o be_v never_o in_o their_o power_n to_o perform_v much_o more_o without_o any_o cause_n on_o the_o creature_n part_n but_o only_o by_o his_o mere_a sovereignty_n or_o that_o they_o be_v never_o in_o a_o possibility_n to_o have_v escape_v eternal_a misery_n or_o that_o christ_n the_o second_o adam_n have_v not_o so_o far_o exceed_v the_o first_o adam_n that_o as_o the_o first_o adam_n may_v have_v preserve_v all_o his_o posterity_n in_o a_o capacity_n to_o be_v save_v if_o he_o have_v not_o fall_v so_o the_o second_o adam_n shall_v not_o at_o least_o have_v put_v all_o mank_n in_o a_o capacity_n to_o be_v save_v and_o escape_v eternal_a misery_n by_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n and_o yet_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n the_o scripture_n be_v so_o plain_a and_o positive_a that_o it_o be_v not_o in_o man_n power_n to_o believe_v by_o a_o save_a faith_n to_o be_v holy_a or_o how_o it_o can_v consist_v with_o the_o veracity_n and_o sincerity_n of_o god_n to_o exhort_v and_o expostulate_v with_o man_n to_o repent_v believe_v and_o be_v holy_a though_o it_o be_v neither_o in_o the_o power_n of_o the_o elect_a or_o reprobate_a to_o perform_v the_o same_o whereupon_o some_o find_v no_o outgate_n but_o by_o recur_v to_o that_o freedom_n that_o once_o be_v in_o adam_n and_o that_o a_o creditor_n may_v press_v his_o debtor_n to_o pay_v his_o debt_n
