confidence_n in_o the_o flesh_n if_o any_o other_o man_n think_v that_o he_o have_v whereof_o he_o may_v trust_v in_o the_o flesh_n i_o more_o the_o apostle_n in_o the_o second_o part_n of_o the_o chapter_n be_v to_o demonstrate_v the_o vanity_n of_o rely_v upon_o any_o thing_n beside_o christ_n in_o the_o point_n of_o justification_n from_o his_o own_o practice_n show_v 1._o that_o he_o have_v as_o much_o to_o boast_v of_o upon_o the_o account_n of_o outward_a privilege_n as_o any_o of_o his_o adversary_n yea_o or_o any_o other_o whatsoever_o if_o he_o have_v find_v it_o safe_a to_o venture_v his_o salvation_n on_o such_o a_o bottom_n and_o this_o he_o declare_v first_o in_o general_a in_o this_o verse_n doct._n 1._o the_o lord_n in_o his_o deep_a wisdom_n raise_v up_o such_o as_o be_v most_o fit_a to_o oppose_v seducer_n who_o come_v not_o short_a of_o they_o in_o any_o thing_n whereof_o they_o glory_v most_o that_o even_o wherein_o they_o glory_v they_o may_v be_v find_v but_o as_o other_o see_v 2_o cor._n 11._o 12._o thus_o against_o those_o who_o boast_v so_o much_o in_o their_o outward_a privilege_n as_o to_o oppose_v they_o unto_o christ_n righteousness_n in_o the_o matter_n of_o justification_n he_o raise_v up_o paul_n to_o batter_v down_o both_o their_o pride_n and_o error_n who_o have_v as_o much_o matter_n of_o boast_v that_o way_n as_o they_o or_o any_o other_o though_o i_o may_v have_v also_o confidence_n in_o the_o flesh_n 2._o then_o may_v a_o man_n commend_v himself_o by_o make_v notour_n what_o he_o have_v of_o grace_n part_n or_o privilege_n equal_o with_o or_o above_o other_o when_o his_o do_v so_o tend_v to_o beat_v down_o the_o vain_a glory_n of_o those_o who_o boast_v more_o of_o what_o they_o be_v than_o be_v meet_v for_o paul_n here_o declare_v at_o length_n his_o outward_a privilege_n wherein_o he_o will_v yield_v to_o none_o which_o he_o can_v not_o have_v do_v without_o ostentation_n except_o it_o have_v be_v to_o show_v the_o vanity_n and_o pride_n of_o his_o adversary_n 3._o the_o glory_n and_o praise_n of_o safety_n from_o god_n wrath_n
