sixthly_a christ_n be_v the_o chief_a and_o great_a shepherd_n of_o the_o sheep_n and_o when_o the_o chief_a shepherd_n shall_v appear_v you_o shall_v receive_v a_o crown_n of_o shepherd_n glory_n and_o again_o the_o holy_a ghost_n call_v he_o in_o another_o place_n the_o great_a shepherd_n now_o the_o god_n of_o peace_n that_o bring_v from_o the_o 20._o dead_a our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n as_o the_o great_a surety_n of_o all_o the_o sheep_n by_o which_o he_o come_v under_o a_o legal_a obligation_n to_o pay_v the_o just_a debt_n and_o to_o answer_v for_o the_o default_n of_o all_o his_o elect_n and_o then_o and_o thereby_o he_o undertake_v to_o bring_v in_o and_o gather_v all_o the_o sheep_n to_o god_n by_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o everlasting_a covenant_n by_o which_o transaction_n he_o make_v our_o peace_n and_o reconcile_v 20._o we_o unto_o the_o father_n 2._o because_o he_o actual_o buy_v all_o the_o sheep_n in_o pursuit_n of_o the_o say_v glorious_a covenant-transaction_n by_o the_o price_n of_o his_o own_o blood_n that_o so_o he_o may_v unite_v they_o all_o unto_o himself_o in_o one_o body_n 28._o 3._o he_o may_v be_v call_v the_o chief_a and_o great_a shepherd_n because_o all_o the_o sheep_n or_o elect_a of_o god_n be_v give_v into_o his_o hand_n to_o keep_v take_v care_n of_o feed_v heel_n protect_v and_o preserve_v to_o eternal_a life_n and_o this_o great_a without_o spot_n before_o the_o father_n 5._o because_o he_o be_v exalt_v in_o glory_n and_o dignity_n not_o only_o as_o the_o head_n lord_n and_o sovereign_n of_o all_o the_o sheep_n but_o also_o as_o the_o prince_n of_o all_o pastor_n and_o subordinate_a shepherd_n that_o ever_o be_v be_v or_o shall_v be_v from_o who_o they_o all_o receive_v their_o power_n and_o authority_n as_o his_o deputy_n to_o take_v care_n of_o and_o watch_n over_o each_o part_n and_o parcel_n of_o his_o flock_n commit_v to_o their_o respective_a charge_n jesus_n christ_n be_v not_o only_o above_o all_o shepherd_n all_o minister_n but_o they_o do_v all_o in_o his_o name_n and_o must_v at_o the_o last_o day_n be_v accountable_a to_o he_o for_o their_o administration_n 6._o he_o be_v the_o great_a shepherd_n of_o the_o sheep_n a_o mighty_a shepherd_n if_o we_o consider_v the_o greatness_n of_o the_o flock_n which_o he_o have_v not_o only_o receive_v the_o care_n and_o charge_n of_o but_o they_o be_v all_o his_o own_o sheep_n if_o a_o shepherd_n have_v under_o his_o care_n 100000_o sheep_n and_o all_o his_o own_o will_v not_o every_o body_n call_v he_o a_o great_a shepherd_n now_o though_o christ_n flock_n be_v call_v a_o little_a flock_n comparative_o yet_o the_o number_n of_o all_o his_o sheep_n all_o his_o elect_n be_v very_o great_a we_o read_v of_o ten_o thousand_o of_o his_o saint_n and_o a_o number_n that_o no_o man_n can_v number_v they_o be_v all_o he_o and_o therefore_o a_o great_a shepherd_n 7._o he_o be_v great_a in_o riches_n have_v a_o multitude_n of_o rich_a and_o choice_a pastor_n enough_o to_o feed_v million_o of_o sheep_n here_o on_o earth_n and_o though_o his_o flock_n will_v increase_v ever_o long_o when_o the_o fullness_n of_o the_o gentile_n shall_v come_v in_o and_o his_o ancient_a flock_n i_o mean_v the_o seed_n of_o abraham_n now_o scatter_v be_v gather_v and_o all_o bring_v into_o one_o fold_n yet_o he_o have_v pasture_n for_o they_o all_o moreover_o he_o have_v prepare_v a_o glorious_a and_o rich_a fold_n for_o they_o above_o which_o be_v heaven_n itself_o that_o be_v the_o fold_n into_o which_o all_o his_o flock_n shall_v be_v put_v for_o ever_o and_o ever_o 8._o last_o he_o be_v great_a in_o power_n no_o shepherd_n have_v such_o power_n to_o defend_v protect_v preserve_v and_o save_v his_o flock_n like_a to_o he_o none_o be_v able_a to_o pluck_v one_o sheep_n out_o of_o his_o hand_n as_o i_o shall_v prove_v and_o demonstrate_v when_o i_o come_v to_o speak_v to_o the_o next_o part_n of_o my_o text._n another_o shepherd_n for_o want_v of_o power_n may_v lose_v his_o sheep_n the_o wolf_n or_o lion_n may_v come_v and_o tear_v they_o in_o piece_n and_o rob_v he_o of_o they_o but_o no_o enemy_n neither_o sin_n nor_o satan_n nor_o the_o world_n can_v rend_v his_o sheep_n from_o he_o he_o have_v power_n over_o all_o adversary_n and_o can_v subdue_v they_o with_o much_o case_n at_o his_o pleasure_n therefore_o he_o be_v the_o great_a shepherd_n seven_o jesus_n christ_n be_v a_o watchful_a shepherd_n this_o be_v one_o property_n 8._o of_o a_o good_a shepherd_n and_o there_o be_v shepherd_n in_o the_o

thereof_o lay_v from_o before_o all_o world_n in_o god_n eternal_a election_n be_v the_o spring_n of_o it_o and_o this_o be_v alone_o of_o god_n own_o free_a grace_n there_o be_v a_o remnant_n according_a 6._o to_o the_o election_n of_o grace_n and_o if_o it_o be_v of_o grace_n than_o it_o be_v no_o more_o of_o work_n otherwise_o grace_n be_v no_o more_o grace_n but_o if_o it_o be_v of_o work_n than_o it_o be_v no_o more_o of_o grace_n otherwise_o work_n be_v no_o more_o work_n this_o opposition_n or_o contrariety_n be_v not_o only_o between_o grace_n and_o legal_a work_n but_o between_o grace_n and_o all_o manner_n of_o work_n whatsoever_o because_o it_o lie_v betwixt_o the_o nature_n of_o grace_n and_o work_n they_o be_v repugnant_a or_o contrary_a the_o one_o to_o the_o to_o that_o implacable_a enemy_n of_o he_o and_o cast_v off_o his_o most_o holy_a and_o gracious_a sovereign_n from_o whence_o he_o receive_v his_o breath_n and_o be_v nay_o and_o in_o respect_n of_o restauration_n that_o be_v such_o that_o it_o can_v be_v lose_v any_o more_o without_o the_o high_a dishonour_n to_o god_n and_o a_o frustration_n of_o his_o eternal_a purpose_n and_o counsel_n which_o be_v to_o destroy_v the_o work_n of_o the_o devil_n if_o any_o shall_v object_v that_o adam_n have_v the_o image_n of_o god_n in_o he_o before_o he_o fall_v and_o lose_v it_o i_o answer_v he_o
