that_o you_o do_v not_o lose_v all_o this_o reward_n for_o some_o one_o sin_n at_o last_o let_v they_o do_v what_o they_o will_v in_o profession_n if_o their_o heart_n do_v not_o come_v off_o from_o every_o sin_n it_o be_v all_o nothing_o not_o but_o that_o there_o may_v be_v some_o remainder_n of_o sin_n and_o yet_o the_o heart_n be_v take_v off_o from_o every_o sin_n but_o if_o there_o be_v any_o secret_a close_n with_o any_o sin_n all_o your_o profession_n and_o the_o leave_v of_o all_o the_o other_o be_v to_o no_o purpose_n it_o will_v never_o bring_v you_o to_o this_o reward_n as_o suppose_v a_o wife_n shall_v be_v very_o serviceable_a to_o her_o husband_n in_o many_o thing_n and_o forsake_v many_o lover_n yet_o if_o she_o entertain_v but_o any_o one_o lover_n beside_o her_o husband_n her_o husband_n do_v not_o care_n for_o all_o her_o service_n and_o respect_n and_o so_o it_o be_v with_o those_o that_o make_v profession_n look_v that_o there_o be_v no_o one_o secret_a sin_n lodge_v in_o your_o heart_n if_o there_o be_v you_o will_v lose_v all_o it_o be_v a_o vexation_n to_o lysimachus_n a_o king_n that_o his_o stay_n to_o drink_v one_o draught_n of_o water_n lose_v he_o his_o kingdom_n and_o so_o it_o will_v be_v a_o vexation_n to_o any_o that_o have_v go_v on_o in_o the_o way_n of_o godliness_n that_o he_o have_v lose_v heaven_n for_o one_o sin_n it_o be_v a_o need_v he_o be_v so_o strict_a but_o for_o a_o gracious_a heart_n that_o have_v such_o high_a and_o noble_a and_o glorious_a end_n as_o these_o be_v in_o his_o work_n as_o a_o crown_n and_o glory_n and_o the_o like_a he_o have_v need_n be_v strict_a and_o precise_a in_o ordinary_a piece_n of_o work_n by_o which_o workman_n do_v not_o expect_v much_o they_o be_v not_o so_o strict_a and_o exact_a but_o if_o a_o man_n be_v about_o some_o curious_a work_n that_o he_o expect_v some_o great_a matter_n for_o than_o he_o will_v be_v very_o strict_a and_o so_o because_o god_n people_n do_v expect_v such_o great_a matter_n for_o religion_n no_o wonder_n that_o they_o be_v so_o strict_a and_o precise_a three_o if_o there_o be_v such_o a_o glorious_a reward_n here_o be_v a_o encouragement_n to_o be_v very_o fervent_a and_o zealous_a 3._o in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n because_o they_o serve_v such_o a_o god_n and_o shall_v have_v such_o reward_n say_v the_o apostle_n in_o rom._n 12._o 11._o be_v infinite_a desire_n and_o because_o they_o can_v enjoy_v a_o actual_a infinite_a good_a in_o themselves_o therefore_o they_o desire_v a_o infinite_a good_a in_o duration_n at_o least_o let_v there_o be_v never_o so_o much_o good_a yea_o as_o much_o as_o a_o infinite_a power_n can_v let_v out_o for_o present_v good_a yet_o this_o do_v not_o satisfy_v the_o soul_n unless_o it_o can_v have_v it_o infinite_o for_o duration_n for_o a_o enlighten_v soul_n know_v that_o it_o be_v not_o capable_a to_o hold_v that_o good_a that_o a_o infinite_a god_n can_v and_o have_v a_o purpose_n to_o communicate_v to_o his_o creature_n if_o it_o shall_v come_v all_o together_o therefore_o it_o desire_v to_o enjoy_v communication_n of_o what_o good_a it_o be_v capable_a of_o to_o all_o eternity_n to_o receive_v good_a from_o god_n be_v not_o sufficient_a except_o it_o be_v receive_v in_o a_o infinite_a way_n now_o it_o can_v receive_v any_o thing_n infinite_a for_o the_o present_a and_o therefore_o it_o must_v have_v it_o in_o a_o infinite_a way_n in_o regard_n of_o duration_n six_o there_o be_v nothing_o that_o be_v but_o for_o a_o season_n 6._o can_v satisfy_v a_o gracious_a heart_n but_o it_o must_v be_v some_o eternal_a thing_n because_o such_o a_o one_o have_v receive_v light_n from_o god_n to_o understand_v the_o infinite_a consequence_n of_o eternity_n to_o make_v any_o good_a to_o be_v infinite_a or_o any_o evil_a to_o be_v infinite_a when_o as_o one_o enjoy_v any_o good_a and_o know_v it_o shall_v continue_v infinite_o it_o make_v that_o present_a good_a to_o have_v a_o kind_n of_o infiniteness_n in_o it_o and_o and_o so_o for_o evil_n if_o there_o be_v any_o evil_n upon_o the_o heart_n though_o the_o evil_n shall_v be_v never_o so_o little_a yet_o if_o it_o be_v a_o evil_a and_o the_o soul_n know_v it_o must_v continue_v infinite_o it_o put_v a_o kind_n of_o infiniteness_n to_o every_o moment_n and_o that_o be_v the_o principal_a thing_n that_o make_v the_o misery_n of_o the_o damn_a to_o be_v so_o miserable_a and_o the_o happiness_n of_o the_o godly_a so_o happy_a they_o be_v not_o only_o happy_a and_o miserable_a because_o they_o shall_v be_v happy_a and_o miserable_a for_o ever_o but_o because_o they_o know_v there_o be_v continance_n in_o happiness_n and_o in_o misery_n their_o knowledge_n of_o this_o be_v that_o which_o put_v infinite_a weight_n upon_o every_o moment_n suppose_v a_o beast_n shall_v have_v happiness_n suitable_a to_o its_o nature_n for_o eternity_n that_o will_v come_v infinite_o short_a of_o the_o hold_v a_o brute_n beast_n in_o the_o fire_n eternal_o as_o if_o a_o man_n be_v in_o misery_n because_o though_o it_o have_v pain_n yet_o it_o have_v no_o thought_n of_o future_a pain_n but_o what_o it_o now_o feel_v but_o if_o a_o rational_a creature_n be_v in_o misery_n by_o the_o thought_n of_o his_o mind_n he_o can_v fetch_v all_o the_o pain_n that_o shall_v be_v in_o hundred_o thousand_o of_o year_n and_o put_v they_o upon_o that_o instant_n and_o this_o make_v it_o to_o be_v miserable_a indeed_o in_o a_o kind_n of_o infiniteness_n beyond_o that_o which_o any_o other_o creature_n be_v capable_a of_o you_o think_v to_o be_v torture_v with_o fire_n be_v miserable_a and_o to_o be_v so_o eternal_o be_v miserable_a but_o there_o be_v something_o more_o every_o instant_n you_o shall_v be_v in_o misery_n there_o shall_v be_v a_o kind_n of_o infiniteness_n because_o you_o shall_v by_o your_o thought_n bring_v whatsoever_o be_v to_o come_v and_o put_v it_o upon_o the_o present_a happiness_n at_o all_o but_o beside_o it_o have_v a_o kind_n of_o infinite_a capacity_n whereby_o it_o be_v make_v capable_a of_o the_o high_a happiness_n that_o belong_v to_o the_o capacity_n of_o a_o creature_n and_o certain_o god_n have_v not_o make_v this_o in_o vain_a god_n do_v intend_v to_o fill_v this_o capacity_n you_o will_v say_v a_o infinite_a capacity_n of_o happiness_n how_o be_v therefore_o the_o understanding_n be_v infinite_a because_o it_o be_v not_o satisfy_v in_o this_o or_o that_o particular_a but_o truth_n in_o the_o utmost_a extent_n and_o for_o the_o object_n of_o the_o will_n it_o be_v good_a in_o the_o general_n it_o be_v not_o this_o or_o that_o particular_a good_a but_o good_a in_o the_o universality_n of_o its_o nature_n and_o therefore_o till_o it_o come_v to_o enjoy_v god_n that_o do_v eminent_o contain_v all_o good_a in_o he_o it_o can_v never_o come_v to_o have_v full_a satisfaction_n and_o here_o observe_v the_o difference_n between_o the_o capacity_n of_o man_n nature_n and_o the_o capacity_n of_o other_o creature_n as_o for_o other_o creature_n their_o faculty_n can_v extend_v no_o further_o than_o some_o particular_a good_a and_o they_o be_v limit_v within_o the_o narrow_a bound_n of_o their_o own_o nature_n and_o therefore_o if_o so_o be_v the_o eye_n have_v colour_n it_o go_v no_o further_o and_o if_o the_o ear_n have_v sound_a it_o go_v no_o further_o and_o so_o taste_v it_o go_v no_o further_a than_o some_o particular_a good_a but_o the_o intelligent_a soul_n the_o rational_a soul_n go_v beyond_o all_o particular_n now_o god_n have_v make_v man_n nature_n of_o such_o a_o capacity_n for_o good_a and_o happiness_n certain_o god_n intend_v great_a thing_n for_o the_o child_n of_o man_n other_o manner_n of_o thing_n than_o there_o be_v in_o this_o world_n and_o if_o for_o any_o sure_o for_o the_o righteous_a three_o sure_o there_o be_v a_o reward_n because_o it_o be_v the_o 3._o great_a design_n that_o god_n have_v in_o the_o make_n of_o the_o world_n in_o all_o his_o work_n to_o lift_v up_o and_o advance_v the_o glory_n of_o the_o riches_n of_o his_o mercy_n and_o grace_n now_o if_o this_o be_v god_n great_a design_n to_o advance_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o infinite_a mercy_n then_o certain_o there_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o glorious_a condition_n for_o some_o of_o the_o child_n of_o man_n for_o world_n whereby_o he_o shall_v attain_v to_o the_o great_a design_n of_o lift_v up_o of_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o great_a name_n four_o the_o chief_a of_o the_o deep_a infinite_a counsel_n of_o god_n of_o god_n have_v look_v at_o the_o recompense_n of_o reward_n as_o a_o great_a encouragement_n to_o they_o in_o their_o way_n psal_n 119._o 112._o i_o have_v incline_v my_o heart_n to_o perform_v thy_o statute_n always_o even_o to_o the_o end_n the_o same_o word_n that_o signify_v end_n signify_v reward_n also_o because_o reward_n be_v to_o come_v at_o the_o end_n of_o all_o our_o work_n and_o therefore_o the_o same_o word_n be_v translate_v reward_n in_o psal_n 19_o 11._o and_o so_o the_o word_n seem_v to_o carry_v more_o then_o to_o the_o end_n as_o if_o david_n shall_v say_v i_o have_v incline_v my_o heart_n to_o perform_v thy_o statute_n always_o look_v unto_o the_o reward_n in_o heb._n 12._o 3._o it_o be_v say_v of_o christ_n himself_o that_o for_o the_o joy_n that_o be_v set_v before_o he_o he_o endure_v the_o cross_n and_o despise_v the_o shame_n now_o if_o christ_n make_v use_v of_o the_o joy_n that_o be_v set_v before_o he_o and_o that_o be_v a_o help_n to_o he_o to_o the_o glorious_a thing_n of_o the_o recompense_n of_o the_o reward_n in_o a_o way_n of_o encouragement_n and_o therefore_o we_o sin_n against_o god_n if_o we_o do_v not_o encourage_v ourselves_o in_o it_o some_o think_v why_o shall_v we_o look_v at_o the_o reward_n we_o must_v look_v to_o the_o rule_n and_o see_v that_o our_o obedience_n be_v according_o but_o know_v if_o you_o do_v not_o look_v to_o the_o reward_n you_o do_v not_o only_o hinder_v yourselves_o of_o the_o good_a you_o may_v have_v but_o do_v sin_n against_o god_n in_o it_o here_o you_o deceive_v yourselves_o as_o ahaz_n do_v unsoundness_n for_o seek_v of_o immortality_n and_o eternity_n and_o happiness_n this_o be_v that_o which_o trouble_v many_o christian_n that_o which_o they_o do_v be_v out_o of_o self-love_n and_o they_o aim_n at_o themselves_o god_n do_v never_o discover_v any_o to_o be_v unsound_a upon_o this_o ground_n and_o therefore_o we_o shall_v be_v cautious_a in_o accuse_v ourselves_o of_o this_o as_o many_o do_v because_o for_o the_o present_a they_o can_v see_v how_o they_o go_v further_o than_o seek_v of_o

yet_o we_o ought_v to_o look_v at_o god_n and_o to_o lift_v up_o 5._o god_n beyond_o ourselves_o or_o any_o thing_n that_o concern_v ourselves_o and_o not_o to_o aim_n at_o god_n more_o than_o any_o worldly_a thing_n only_o but_o to_o aim_n at_o god_n more_o than_o at_o the_o glory_n of_o heaven_n but_o yet_o further_o though_o we_o be_v to_o aim_n at_o god_n beyond_o 6._o our_o own_o good_a any_o way_n yet_o it_o be_v the_o will_n of_o god_n that_o he_o will_v not_o have_v we_o to_o part_v with_o any_o of_o our_o spiritual_a good_a no_o not_o for_o any_o glory_n to_o his_o own_o name_n if_o you_o look_v at_o your_o reward_n in_o heaven_n as_o spiritual_a you_o may_v so_o far_o look_v at_o it_o as_o not_o to_o be_v willing_a to_o part_v with_o it_o for_o any_o glory_n that_o you_o conceive_v may_v come_v to_o god_n by_o spiritual_a good_a i_o mean_v grace_n now_o if_o it_o can_v be_v suppose_v that_o god_n shall_v have_v never_o so_o much_o glory_n by_o my_o abate_v the_o least_o degree_n in_o grace_n yet_o i_o be_o so_o bind_v to_o the_o work_n of_o grace_n as_o i_o must_v not_o abate_v the_o least_o degree_n for_o the_o high_a glory_n that_o can_v come_v to_o god_n yea_o though_o it_o be_v true_a i_o be_o to_o desire_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o that_o other_o shall_v glorify_v god_n yet_o i_o shall_v more_o desire_v the_o furtherance_n of_o grace_n in_o my_o own_o soul_n so_o as_o i_o shall_v not_o be_v willing_a to_o part_v with_o the_o least_o degree_n of_o grace_n though_o thereby_o all_o the_o world_n shall_v glorify_v god_n but_o here_o lie_v one_o objection_n paul_n seem_v to_o go_v object_n otherwise_o for_o he_o wish_v himself_o accurse_v or_o anathamize_v from_o christ_n for_o his_o brethren_n his_o kinsman_n after_o the_o flesh_n so_o that_o it_o seem_v st._n paul_n do_v wish_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n in_o other_o more_o than_o any_o grace_n in_o himself_o to_o this_o i_o answer_v that_o separation_n from_o christ_n we_o must_v understand_v right_o we_o be_v not_o to_o understand_v by_o answ_n separation_n that_o he_o shall_v be_v separate_v from_o the_o spirit_n and_o grace_n of_o christ_n but_o that_o he_o may_v be_v separate_v from_o the_o comfort_n of_o christ_n that_o he_o may_v not_o have_v that_o comfort_n and_o that_o happiness_n that_o come_v in_o by_o christ_n if_o he_o have_v desire_v to_o be_v separate_v from_o the_o grace_n of_o christ_n he_o shall_v have_v sin_v in_o it_o god_n glory_n and_o our_o good_a be_v so_o annex_v together_o that_o though_o we_o may_v suffer_v much_o for_o the_o good_a of_o other_o yet_o we_o be_v not_o to_o desire_v to_o be_v in_o any_o sinful_a condition_n though_o it_o can_v save_v all_o the_o world_n if_o it_o can_v be_v conceive_v unless_o i_o sin_v the_o least_o sin_n in_o thought_n all_o the_o man_n of_o the_o world_n shall_v be_v damn_v i_o shall_v suffer_v they_o all_o to_o be_v damn_v rather_o than_o to_o sin_v the_o least_o sin_n i_o remember_v st._n heart_n look_v to_o the_o reward_n and_o a_o carnal_a heart_n look_v to_o the_o reward_n as_o first_o the_o difference_n lie_v here_o a_o gracious_a heart_n do_v carnal_a love_v the_o reward_n for_o the_o work_v sake_n a_o carnal_a heart_n do_v only_o love_v the_o work_n for_o the_o reward_n sake_n as_o a_o gracious_a heart_n love_v heaven_n and_o love_v the_o glory_n of_o heaven_n but_o it_o love_v heaven_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o heaven_n the_o better_a because_o there_o be_v such_o a_o bless_a way_n to_o it_o if_o a_o man_n be_v to_o go_v home_o and_o have_v a_o ill_a way_n he_o will_v love_v his_o home_n but_o if_o he_o have_v a_o fair_a smooth_a way_n home_o he_o love_v his_o home_n the_o better_a for_o the_o way_n sake_n therefore_o many_o man_n be_v at_o great_a cost_n to_o have_v a_o fair_a go_v to_o their_o house_n and_o so_o a_o gracious_a heart_n love_v the_o way_n that_o god_n do_v reveal_v to_o come_v to_o heaven_n by_o and_o love_v heaven_n the_o better_a because_o of_o the_o way_n a_o carnal_a heart_n may_v love_v heaven_n but_o he_o do_v not_o love_v heaven_n the_o better_a for_o the_o way_n but_o wish_v the_o way_n to_o heaven_n be_v otherwise_o he_o look_v upon_o the_o way_n to_o heaven_n as_o a_o necessary_a burden_n to_o he_o as_o a_o man_n that_o be_v go_v out_o a_o journey_n and_o must_v go_v through_o a_o dirty_a lane_n he_o go_v high_a and_o last_o end_n and_o therefore_o there_o shall_v always_o be_v the_o utmost_a activity_n of_o the_o habit_n of_o grace_n there_o be_v a_o necessity_n here_o of_o cessation_n of_o action_n because_o we_o grow_v weary_a quick_o of_o any_o action_n though_o it_o be_v a_o gracious_a action_n we_o must_v unstring_v our_o bow_n and_o cease_v that_o some_o action_n may_v give_v way_n to_o and_o to_o keep_v our_o heart_n up_o but_o hereafter_o there_o shall_v be_v that_o communication_n of_o god_n unto_o his_o people_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v exercise_v about_o the_o high_a thing_n in_o the_o high_a manner_n without_o any_o difficulty_n but_o as_o free_o and_o ready_o and_o full_o as_o the_o sun_n shine_v the_o sun_n do_v shine_v without_o any_o difficulty_n and_o the_o fish_n pain_n for_o health_n and_o life_n and_o yet_o for_o this_o reward_n and_o this_o inheritance_n how_o little_a be_v do_v in_o the_o world_n sorun_n say_v the_o apostle_n that_o you_o may_v obtain_v not_o a_o corruptible_a but_o a_o incorruptible_a crown_n those_o that_o run_v a_o race_n for_o a_o corruptible_a crown_n will_v be_v temperate_a and_o deny_v themselves_o in_o their_o diet_n but_o we_o say_v the_o apostle_n strive_v for_o a_o incorruptible_a crown_n therefore_o let_v all_o our_o way_n be_v such_o as_o it_o may_v appear_v to_o all_o the_o world_n that_o we_o be_v strive_v for_o
