attain_v a_o incorruptible_a inheritance_n whereof_o have_v be_v speak_v afore_o now_o therefore_o there_o remain_v nothing_o behind_o but_o that_o the_o veil_n be_v take_v away_o that_o may_v be_v and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n here_o warn_v we_o that_o we_o look_v for_o the_o like_a judgement_n shall_v stand_v in_o fear_n and_o not_o so_o to_o vasit_fw-la our_o title_n because_o we_o be_v but_o he_o say_v not_o that_o he_o will_v save_v all_o the_o gentile_n but_o here_o now_o arise_v a_o question_n when_o we_o say_v that_o god_n do_v save_v we_o only_o by_o faith_n without_o respect_n of_o good_a work_n how_o happen_v it_o that_o saint_n peter_n do_v here_o say_v that_o he_o will_v not_o judge_v accord_v to_o the_o person_n but_o according_a to_o every_o man_n work_n i_o answer_v whatsoever_o we_o have_v teach_v concern_v faith_n how_o that_o it_o alone_o do_v justify_v we_o before_o god_n be_v without_o all_o doubt_n very_o true_a forasmuch_o as_o the_o scripture_n declare_v not_o attain_v to_o salvation_n except_o they_o do_v after_o their_o direction_n you_o be_v christian_n say_v they_o we_o confess_v but_o this_o be_v not_o enough_o you_o must_v do_v such_o and_o such_o good_a work_n you_o must_v build_v church_n in_o the_o honour_n of_o this_o and_o that_o saint_n you_o must_v erect_v and_o find_v monastery_n and_o abbaye_v you_o must_v buy_v certain_a trental_n of_o mass_n to_o be_v say_v or_o sing_v for_o you_o you_o must_v pyve_v away_o yourselves_o with_o fast_v and_o such_o like_a thus_o have_v the_o silly_a poor_a people_n be_v beguile_v and_o thus_o have_v they_o be_v persuade_v and_o bring_v to_o show_v themselves_o as_o well_o liker_n of_o these_o trumpery_n think_n it_o to_o be_v the_o king_n high_a way_n to_o heaven_n and_o these_o rot_a work_n of_o blind_a devotion_n to_o be_v of_o all_o work_v the_o best_a because_o they_o see_v they_o which_o carry_v the_o title_n of_o the_o church_n to_o allow_v and_o follow_v the_o same_o so_o that_o in_o process_n of_o time_n there_o grow_v to_o be_v as_o many_o faction_n sect_n and_o religion_n as_o there_o be_v city_n yea_o almost_o as_o there_o be_v men._n whereas_o they_o shall_v rather_o have_v teach_v they_o thus_o you_o be_v christian_n aswell_o as_o they_o that_o be_v a_o hundred_o mile_n distant_a from_o you_o you_o have_v all_o one_o christ_n one_o baptism_n one_o faith_n one_o spirit_n one_o worde_n one_o god_n there_o be_v no_o work_n that_o you_o of_o yourselves_o be_v able_a to_o do_v toward_o your_o salvation_n or_o able_a to_o bring_v you_o to_o the_o perfection_n of_o a_o right_a christian_n if_o this_o doctrine_n may_v general_o be_v preach_v man_n shall_v be_v keep_v in_o the_o fellowship_n and_o unity_n of_o one_o common_a faith_n neither_o will_v there_o be_v any_o difference_n at_o all_o in_o thing_n appertain_v to_o god_n but_o all_o will_v be_v alike_o and_o one_o the_o same_o that_o a_o other_o be_v this_o communion_n and_o unity_n they_o have_v break_v and_o disjoint_v in_o that_o they_o seduce_v and_o mislead_v we_o in_o teach_v we_o that_o we_o must_v merit_v heaven_n by_o our_o work_n draw_v we_o thereby_o from_o faith_n to_o our_o own_o pharisaical_a deed_n s._n peter_n word_n therefore_o if_o he_o be_v well_o mark_v caâ—ie_v this_o meaning_n there_o shall_v arise_v among_o you_o sophistical_a schoolman_n doctor_n teacher_n priest_n munke_n and_o such_o like_a be_v the_o very_a offal_n and_o scum_n of_o the_o world_n who_o shall_v bring_v in_o pernicious_a sect_n odible_a order_n damnable_a heresy_n and_o seduce_v the_o world_n with_o their_o lie_a and_o false_a doctrine_n these_o these_o doubtless_o be_v they_o of_o who_o the_o apostle_n here_o speak_v for_o they_o be_v all_o thus_o persuade_v and_o very_o believe_v that_o their_o wilful_o profess_a order_n be_v meritorious_a to_o they_o and_o shall_v bring_v they_o to_o salvation_n and_o persuade_v other_o also_o to_o put_v confidence_n and_o trust_n in_o they_o if_o this_o be_v not_o their_o opinion_n who_o will_v think_v but_o they_o will_v rather_o live_v free_a abroad_o then_o as_o they_o do_v cage_n and_o empound_v themselves_o in_o their_o cloister_n as_o it_o be_v in_o prison_n even_o deny_v the_o lord_n that_o have_v buy_v they_o they_o be_v ready_a to_o say_v that_o they_o do_v not_o deny_v the_o lord_n but_o if_o this_o question_n be_v demand_v of_o they_o what_o they_o mean_v or_o what_o they_o seek_v to_o get_v through_o these_o their_o vow_a profession_n if_o they_o believe_v as_o they_o say_v they_o do_v that_o they_o be_v redeem_v by_o christ_n and_o that_o their_o sin_n be_v wash_v away_o by_o his_o blood_n they_o will_v quick_o answer_v that_o forsooth_o faith_n alone_o be_v not_o sufficient_a and_o therefore_o they_o must_v have_v the_o help_n of_o good_a work_n thus_o with_o mouth_n they_o confess_v god_n and_o in_o heart_n flat_o renounce_v he_o consider_v also_o what_o pithy_a and_o vehement_a word_n s._n peter_n here_o use_v they_o deny_v say_v he_o the_o lord_n that_o have_v buy_v they_o they_o ought_v to_o be_v subject_a unto_o he_o as_o unto_o their_o supreme_a sovereign_n lord_n who_o inheritance_n they_o be_v now_o they_o do_v believe_v that_o he_o be_v the_o lord_n and_o that_o he_o redeem_v the_o world_n by_o the_o shed_v of_o his_o precious_a blood_n but_o that_o he_o redeem_v they_o they_o can_v nor_o do_v not_o beleeu_n neither_o do_v they_o acknowledge_v and_o take_v he_o for_o their_o lord_n for_o they_o say_v and_o confess_v that_o he_o have_v buy_v and_o redeem_v they_o but_o yet_o they_o be_v not_o persuade_v that_o that_o be_v enough_o and_o sufficient_a because_o they_o must_v they_o say_v discharge_v and_o satisfy_v for_o their_o sin_n by_o their_o work_n to_o who_o this_o answer_n may_v well_o be_v make_v if_o thou_o can_v do_v any_o work_n to_o take_v away_o thy_o sin_n what_o good_a have_v christ_n by_o his_o death_n do_z unto_o thou_o for_o there_o can_v not_o be_v two_o christ_n to_o take_v away_o sin_n he_o as_o good_a right_n it_o be_v must_v be_v acknowledge_v to_o be_v the_o only_a redeemer_n and_o taker_n away_o of_o sin_n which_o be_v grant_v to_o be_v true_a as_o it_o be_v most_o true_a thou_o thyself_o can_v do_v no_o manner_n of_o work_n to_o take_v away_o thy_o sin_n if_o thou_o do_v go_v about_o or_o think_v although_o these_o fellow_n do_v acknowledge_v christ_n to_o be_v the_o lord_n yet_o do_v they_o deny_v that_o he_o buy_v they_o they_o believe_v that_o he_o sit_v in_o heaven_n and_o be_v lord_n but_o the_o take_v away_o of_o sin_n which_o be_v his_o proper_a and_o peculiar_a office_n they_o nip_n and_o take_v quite_o from_o he_o and_o attribute_v it_o unto_o their_o own_o work_v and_o by_o that_o mean_n leave_v nothing_o to_o he_o but_o the_o bare_a name_n and_o title_n ascribe_v his_o power_n work_n virtue_n and_o office_n unto_o themselves_o and_o therefore_o christ_n most_o true_o foretell_v that_o there_o shall_v come_v many_o in_o his_o name_n and_o say_v i_o be_o christ_n and_o shall_v deceive_v many_o math._n twenty-four_o mar._n xiij_o for_o these_o justiciaries_n and_o meritemonger_n thus_o tie_v salvation_n to_o work_n show_v forth_o in_o their_o so_o do_v as_o though_o they_o shall_v say_v not_o i_o be_o call_v christ_n but_o i_o be_o christ_n whereby_o they_o snatch_v and_o apply_v unto_o themselves_o that_o office_n which_o be_v only_o proper_a and_o peculiar_a unto_o christ_n and_o so_o thrust_v christ_n out_o of_o his_o seat_n and_o place_n themselves_o themselves_o swift_a damnation_n their_o damnation_n shall_v come_v upon_o they_o soon_o than_o they_o think_v although_o god_n seem_v to_o defer_v his_o come_n and_o to_o tarry_v long_o yet_o will_v he_o hasten_v his_o judgement_n and_o come_v time_n enough_o to_o their_o cost_n but_o this_o shall_v not_o be_v corporal_o and_o visible_o to_o the_o eye_n but_o so_o and_o in_o such_o sort_n as_o it_o be_v set_v down_o in_o the_o l.u._n psalm_n they_o shall_v not_o live_v out_o half_a their_o day_n that_o be_v death_n shall_v catch_v hold_n of_o they_o soon_o than_o they_o think_v so_o that_o overcome_v death_n by_o any_o human_a strength_n wheresoever_o faith_n be_v not_o there_o must_v the_o conscience_n need_v tremble_v and_o despair_v but_o where_o faith_n be_v there_o death_n seem_v many_o time_n to_o tarry_v too_o long_o ere_o he_o come_v whereas_o to_o the_o faithless_a and_o unbelieve_a it_o always_o come_v soon_o than_o they_o will_v have_v it_o saint_n peter_n meaning_n therefore_o be_v that_o they_o which_o set_v abroache_v such_o sect_n and_o heresy_n and_o consequent_o deny_v christ_n die_v most_o unwilling_o and_o that_o with_o horror_n and_o desperation_n for_o it_o can_v not_o otherwise_o be_v sing_v they_o stand_v doubtful_a of_o their_o salvation_n use_v these_o or_o such_o like_a term_n who_o can_v tell_v whether_o god_n be_v merciful_a unto_o i_o and_o forgive_v i_o my_o sin_n or_o no_o and_o thus_o while_o they_o stand_v in_o doubt_n with_o these_o word_n who_o can_v tell_v and_o who_o know_v their_o conscience_n can_v never_o be_v merry_a nor_o quiet_a and_o the_o long_o that_o they_o continue_v plunge_v in_o this_o waver_a doubt_n the_o more_o terribler_n still_o will_v death_n be_v unto_o they_o which_o can_v never_o be_v overcome_v unless_o sin_n and_o guiltiness_n of_o conscience_n be_v first_o take_v away_o sudden_a death_n therefore_o destruction_n and_o damnation_n shall_v come_v upon_o they_o so_o that_o they_o shall_v idle_a votary_n therefore_o foolish_a father_n make_v foolish_a child_n while_o they_o mislike_v and_o be_v weary_a of_o the_o trouble_n disquietness_n and_o discommodity_n of_o matrimony_n mean_v hereby_o to_o ease_v and_o rid_v their_o child_n from_o the_o same_o by_o tie_v they_o thus_o to_o a_o vow_a profession_n think_n thereby_o to_o make_v they_o live_v both_o quiet_o ydlie_a and_o delicate_o wherein_o they_o show_v themselves_o mere_o ignorant_a what_o a_o holy_a thing_n marriage_n be_v and_o how_o bless_v the_o trouble_n and_o grieve_v thereof_o be_v saint_n peter_n therefore_o in_o these_o word_n foretell_v how_o the_o world_n shall_v be_v pester_v with_o priest_n munke_n nun_n and_o votary_n to_o which_o profession_n most_o of_o the_o youth_n of_o the_o world_n betake_v themselves_o even_o as_o if_o it_o have_v be_v into_o the_o clutch_n and_o claw_n of_o the_o devil_n so_o that_o alas_o too_o true_o have_v s._n peter_n foreshow_v that_o these_o damnable_a way_n shall_v be_v follow_v of_o many_o by_o who_o the_o way_n of_o truth_n be_v evil_a speak_v of_o and_o this_o also_o we_o both_o have_v see_v and_o at_o this_o day_n in_o many_o place_n of_o the_o world_n do_v see_v to_o come_v to_o pass_v for_o he_o that_o fear_v god_n and_o study_v to_o lead_v a_o christian_a life_n be_v sure_o to_o be_v evil_o report_v of_o rahated_a and_o detest_a and_o the_o true_a sincere_a profession_n of_o the_o gospel_n shall_v not_o escape_v the_o rancorous_a note_n of_o spiteful_a reprehension_n but_o he_o spurn_v against_o and_o ill_o think_v of_o as_o though_o it_o be_v heresy_n and_o error_n if_o any_o man_n in_o zeal_n of_o truth_n shall_v preach_v and_o tell_v they_o that_o their_o sect_n be_v contrary_a to_o the_o doctrine_n lay_v down_o in_o revile_v slander_n and_o condemn_v it_o to_o the_o end_n they_o may_v establish_v extol_v magnify_v and_o maintain_v the_o peevishe_a pedlary_n of_o their_o own_o shameless_a sect_n and_o through_o covetousness_n shall_v they_o with_o feign_a word_n make_v merchandise_n of_o you_o covetousness_n for_o the_o most_o part_n be_v the_o companion_n of_o heresy_n these_o sower_n of_o faâ—â—e_a
