for_o the_o end_n of_o man_n creation_n be_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o in_o their_o creation_n he_o do_v not_o intend_v the_o destruction_n of_o the_o creature_n but_o his_o own_o glory_n and_o through_o the_o free_a grace_n and_o goodness_n of_o god_n that_o they_o stand_v and_o not_o of_o their_o own_o power_n and_o that_o they_o and_o we_o also_o may_v see_v our_o own_o weakness_n and_o that_o we_o all_o stand_v through_o his_o grace_n he_o suffer_v both_o angel_n and_o man_n to_o fall_v quest_n why_o do_v not_o god_n as_o well_o punish_v all_o the_o angel_n as_o some_o of_o they_o see_v he_o punish_v all_o mankind_n for_o adam_n sin_n answ_n the_o case_n be_v not_o alike_o for_o we_o all_o sin_v in_o adam_n be_v in_o his_o loin_n and_o be_v therefore_o pollute_v with_o corruption_n of_o nature_n and_o do_v bring_v forth_o the_o evil_a fruit_n of_o sin_n and_o rebellion_n against_o god_n but_o it_o be_v not_o so_o with_o angel_n they_o do_v not_o proceed_v from_o one_o another_o by_o natural_a generation_n and_o therefore_o not_o in_o the_o same_o manner_n corrupt_v but_o be_v all_o create_v glorious_a creature_n and_o it_o be_v but_o some_o of_o the_o angel_n that_o sin_v and_o therefore_o none_o but_o they_o that_o sin_v be_v punish_v and_o although_o he_o suffer_v all_o man_n to_o fall_v yet_o he_o provide_v a_o remedy_n to_o restore_v part_n of_o they_o again_o through_o jesus_n christ_n and_o to_o make_v they_o heir_n of_o glory_n for_o ever_o quest_n be_v not_o the_o remedy_n sufficient_a to_o redeem_v all_o mankind_n that_o have_v fall_v through_o adam_n transgression_n answ_n it_o be_v sufficient_a doubtless_o be_v a_o price_n of_o a_o infinite_a value_n and_o all_o man_n be_v thereby_o set_v in_o a_o possibility_n of_o salvation_n and_o as_o we_o say_v before_o all_o man_n enjoy_v good_a by_o christ_n yet_o notwithstanding_o god_n do_v not_o purpose_n nor_o intend_v to_o give_v his_o son_n to_o death_n to_o redeem_v all_o mankind_n and_o so_o to_o save_v they_o for_o ever_o but_o only_o for_o those_o who_o he_o have_v elect_v and_o make_v choice_n of_o to_o be_v vessel_n of_o mercy_n in_o his_o wisdom_n from_o all_o eternity_n the_o lord_n work_n and_o do_n be_v unchangeable_a quest_n but_o the_o lord_n exhort_v all_o man_n to_o repent_v and_o to_o turn_v to_o he_o promise_v to_o pardon_v their_o sin_n if_o they_o do_v repent_v how_o then_o be_v it_o that_o god_n do_v not_o purpose_n to_o save_v all_o mankind_n by_o christ_n death_n answ_n it_o be_v true_a indeed_o that_o all_o man_n be_v exhort_v to_o repent_v and_o the_o promise_n be_v make_v general_o to_o all_o that_o do_v repent_v but_o none_o do_v repent_v but_o only_o the_o elect_a and_o choose_v of_o god_n and_o therefore_o none_o but_o they_o enjoy_v the_o special_a promise_n of_o grace_n and_o mercy_n quest_n but_o what_o be_v the_o reason_n that_o all_o do_v not_o repent_v that_o so_o they_o may_v have_v right_a unto_o those_o special_a promise_n of_o grace_n and_o mercy_n through_o christ_n answ_n the_o fault_n be_v in_o man_n who_o through_o the_o corruption_n of_o his_o heart_n resist_v this_o grace_n and_o mercy_n offer_v and_o so_o harden_v his_o heart_n in_o sin_n choose_v rather_o to_o enjoy_v his_o pleasure_n here_o then_o to_o humble_v himself_o to_o walk_v with_o god_n to_o enjoy_v his_o grace_n and_o mercy_n for_o ever_o quest_n have_v the_o elect_a any_o more_o power_n in_o themselves_o than_o other_o to_o repent_v and_o turn_v to_o the_o lord_n answ_n no_o none_o at_o all_o but_o repentance_n be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n as_o we_o say_v before_o and_o it_o be_v he_o that_o by_o his_o spirit_n do_v effect_v this_o great_a work_n in_o they_o 2_o tim._n 2.25_o quest_n why_o do_v not_o god_n give_v repentance_n to_o all_o and_o so_o save_v all_o by_o christ_n that_o so_o all_o man_n may_v for_o ever_o glorify_v and_o praise_v his_o mercy_n answ_n it_o be_v his_o purpose_n from_o all_o eternity_n as_o well_o to_o set_v forth_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o justice_n as_o of_o his_o mercy_n and_o therefore_o as_o he_o do_v not_o intend_v nor_o purpose_n to_o save_v they_o by_o christ_n so_o neither_o will_v he_o bestow_v
