â—ime_n appoint_v by_o he_o so_o that_o in_o this_o holy_a exercise_n as_o in_o all_o other_o thing_n the_o godly_a wise_a and_o they_o that_o look_v to_o get_v any_o good_a by_o it_o must_v regard_v what_o be_v the_o time_n that_o god_n have_v appoint_v they_o to_o use_v it_o and_o herein_o they_o must_v learn_v wisdom_n of_o the_o child_n of_o this_o world_n who_o observe_v the_o time_n for_o harvest_n and_o for_o seed_n and_o know_v what_o be_v fit_a for_o every_o time_n so_o they_o must_v know_v what_o be_v the_o time_n for_o every_o duty_n and_o accord_o practice_v the_o same_o but_o god_n god_n we_o must_v bestow_v that_o lie_v whole_o on_o the_o service_n of_o god_n as_o in_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n read_v and_o preach_v confess_v our_o sin_n and_o pray_v unto_o the_o lord_n and_o in_o all_o other_o mean_n that_o may_v further_o we_o thereunto_o and_o most_o of_o all_o which_o may_v quicken_v we_o up_o unto_o true_a humility_n and_o fervency_n in_o prayer_n and_o therefore_o the_o prophet_n joel_n 1.15_o joel_n 1.15_o thus_o speak_v of_o it_o exhort_v they_o to_o keep_v a_o solemn_a day_n of_o fast_n say_v sanctify_v a_o fast_n call_v a_o solemn_a assembly_n it_o and_o think_v of_o it_o before_o hand_n that_o we_o take_v order_n for_o and_o so_o dispose_v of_o all_o our_o worldly_a business_n and_o affair_n that_o that_o day_n we_o have_v nothing_o to_o hinder_v we_o from_o bestow_v it_o whole_o upon_o the_o worship_n and_o service_n
labour_n and_o therefore_o they_o can_v not_o make_v choice_n of_o a_o day_n of_o private_a fast_n for_o of_o that_o we_o speak_v and_o not_o of_o public_a wherein_o both_o master_n and_o servant_n must_v be_v at_o the_o appointment_n of_o their_o governor_n but_o so_o far_o only_a as_o their_o superior_n shall_v give_v they_o leave_v so_o that_o if_o they_o can_v not_o or_o will_v not_o spare_v their_o labour_n for_o a_o time_n they_o be_v of_o necessity_n to_o keep_v all_o their_o private_a fast_n upon_o the_o sabbath_n day_n wherein_o they_o be_v bind_v to_o rest_n from_o their_o labour_n and_o so_o leave_v their_o master_n business_n undo_v and_o thus_o under_o the_o colour_n of_o devotion_n and_o well_o meaning_n not_o only_a idleness_n may_v be_v nourish_v in_o they_o but_o many_o disorder_n bring_v into_o a_o family_n so_o much_o less_o be_v they_o at_o their_o own_o pleasure_n to_o take_v up_o whole_a day_n to_o themselves_o for_o fast_v without_o the_o privity_n and_o good_a like_n of_o those_o under_o who_o they_o be_v and_o if_o they_o shall_v enterprise_v any_o such_o thing_n they_o be_v by_o they_o to_o be_v reproove_v and_o amend_v according_a to_o the_o power_n that_o god_n have_v give_v they_o and_o herein_o as_o in_o some_o other_o thing_n do_v the_o law_n of_o god_n take_v place_n that_o be_v set_v down_o by_o moses_n 30.4_o num._n 30.4_o if_o a_o woman_n necessary_o lead_v we_o unto_o this_o interpretation_n for_o when_o he_o not_o only_o make_v it_o a_o day_n of_o abstain_v from_o all_o work_n and_o spend_v it_o whole_o in_o god_n service_n public_o but_o also_o that_o the_o end_n of_o it_o shall_v be_v that_o they_o may_v be_v humble_v for_o their_o sin_n &_o so_o reconcile_v unto_o god_n &_o this_o humble_v of_o their_o soul_n be_v principal_o have_v a_o solemn_a day_n appoint_v for_o this_o purpose_n that_o the_o time_n itself_o may_v not_o only_o put_v they_o in_o mind_n of_o that_o which_o otherwise_o will_v have_v be_v forget_v of_o
