consecrate_v themselves_o to_o god_n and_o so_o likewise_o every_o time_n they_o come_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n or_o to_o receive_v sacrament_n god_n will_v account_v his_o name_n to_o be_v sanctify_v in_o such_o a_o work_n as_o this_o be_v 9_o last_o that_o that_o must_v make_v all_o up_o and_o without_o which_o all_o the_o other_o be_v nothing_o it_o be_v that_o you_o must_v tender_v up_o all_o your_o worship_n in_o the_o name_n of_o jesus_n christ_n let_v a_o man_n or_o woman_n worship_n god_n never_o so_o well_o yet_o when_o they_o have_v do_v all_o if_o they_o do_v not_o call_v prayer_n and_o so_o in_o the_o old_a testament_n too_o it_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o emblem_n of_o prayer_n the_o offer_v up_o of_o our_o prayer_n be_v the_o offer_v up_o of_o incense_n to_o god_n and_o the_o mercy_n seat_v it_o be_v a_o type_n of_o jesus_n christ_n now_o the_o incense_n shall_v cover_v the_o mercy_n seat_n so_o our_o prayer_n must_v go_v up_o to_o jesus_n christ_n must_v be_v upon_o he_o and_o so_o must_v be_v accept_v by_o the_o father_n and_o as_o we_o read_v in_o judg._n 13._o 20._o when_o manoah_n offer_v a_o sacrifice_n the_o text_n say_v that_o the_o angel_n of_o the_o lord_n ascend_v in_o the_o flame_n this_o angel_n of_o god_n here_o be_v jesus_n christ_n as_o we_o may_v easy_o from_o this_o scripture_n make_v it_o out_o and_o he_o ascend_v up_o in_o the_o flame_n from_o the_o altar_n now_o though_o we_o do_v not_o offer_v such_o kind_n of_o sacrifice_n with_o fire_n and_o incense_n as_o they_o do_v in_o the_o time_n of_o the_o law_n yet_o when_o we_o be_v offer_v up_o of_o our_o incense_n there_o must_v be_v a_o flame_n of_o fervency_n and_o zeal_n but_o that_o be_v not_o enough_o together_o with_o the_o fame_n of_o the_o altar_n the_o angel_n of_o god_n jesus_n christ_n the_o great_a angel_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n for_o angel_n signify_v nothing_o but_o messenger_n the_o great_a messenger_n that_o be_v come_v into_o the_o world_n about_o that_o great_a errand_n of_o he_o to_o reconcile_v the_o world_n to_o himself_o he_o must_v ascend_v up_o in_o the_o flame_n and_o so_o god_n will_v account_v his_o name_n to_o be_v sanctify_v the_o name_n of_o god_n be_v not_o sanctify_v but_o through_o jesus_n christ_n the_o act_n of_o our_o faith_n upon_o christ_n as_o mediator_n be_v a_o special_a ingredient_n to_o the_o sanctify_a of_o god_n name_n in_o holy_a duty_n as_o you_o know_v the_o scripture_n say_v that_o the_o altar_n do_v sanctify_v the_o gift_n offer_v upon_o the_o altar_n jesus_n christ_n be_v the_o altar_n upon_o who_o all_o our_o spiritual_a sacrifice_n be_v to_o be_v offer_v and_o this_o altar_n do_v sanctify_v the_o gift_n that_o be_v offer_v upon_o it_o let_v never_o so_o great_a a_o gift_n be_v offer_v upon_o any_o other_o altar_n it_o be_v not_o account_v holy_a nor_o accept_v so_o let_v man_n by_o their_o natural_a strength_n or_o power_n that_o they_o have_v offer_v up_o the_o most_o glorious_a and_o specious_a service_n to_o god_n it_o be_v not_o accept_v unless_o it_o be_v offer_v up_o upon_o the_o altar_n jesus_n christ_n we_o have_v a_o altar_n now_o not_o the_o communion_n table_n but_o jesus_n christ_n himself_o be_v our_o altar_n upon_o who_o we_o be_v to_o offer_v all_o our_o sacrifice_n and_o this_o altar_n must_v sanctify_v the_o gift_n we_o can_v never_o have_v our_o gift_n sanctify_v no_o nor_o god_n name_v sanctify_v in_o this_o gift_n except_o it_o be_v offer_v upon_o this_o altar_n and_o our_o faith_n act_v upon_o jesus_n christ_n people_n little_a think_v of_o this_o but_o of_o other_o thing_n viz._n that_o when_o we_o worship_v god_n we_o shall_v worship_v he_o with_o fear_n and_o reverence_n and_o with_o humility_n and_o with_o strength_n of_o intention_n such_o kind_n of_o thing_n every_o one_o that_o have_v any_o enlighten_v of_o conscience_n will_v think_v of_o at_o sometime_o or_o other_o but_o people_n do_v least_o think_v of_o this_o which_o be_v the_o great_a ingredient_n of_o all_o that_o be_v require_v in_o the_o sanctify_a of_o god_n name_n in_o holy_a duty_n that_o be_v to_o come_v and_o tender_v up_o all_o to_o the_o father_n in_o the_o name_n of_o jesus_n christ_n how_o many_o man_n and_o woman_n that_o have_v be_v professor_n of_o religion_n 20_o or_o 30_o year_n and_o yet_o not_o acquaint_v with_o this_o great_a mystery_n of_o godliness_n to_o tender_v up_o all_o to_o god_n in_o the_o name_n of_o his_o son_n this_o

so_o all_o the_o week_n after_o they_o hold_v forth_o the_o word_n of_o god_n you_o that_o be_v servant_n it_o may_v be_v your_o master_n be_v naught_o and_o the_o family_n naught_o from_o whence_o you_o come_v now_o when_o you_o go_v home_o though_o it_o may_v be_v they_o will_v not_o let_v you_o repeat_v the_o sermon_n yet_o you_o be_v to_o hold_v forth_o the_o sermon_n in_o your_o practice_n this_o be_v the_o commendation_n of_o a_o people_n that_o they_o do_v glorify_v the_o word_n of_o god_n i_o beseech_v you_o brethren_n in_o the_o name_n of_o jesus_n christ_n this_o morning_n that_o you_o that_o be_v hearer_n of_o the_o word_n will_v glorify_v the_o word_n and_o glorify_v the_o name_n of_o god_n in_o the_o word_n oh_o that_o not_o one_o of_o you_o will_v be_v a_o disgrace_n or_o shame_n to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n this_o be_v the_o charge_n that_o god_n this_o morning_n lay_v upon_o you_o as_o ever_o you_o expect_v to_o receive_v any_o good_a from_o the_o word_n or_o to_o look_v upon_o the_o face_n of_o god_n with_o comfort_n who_o word_n this_o be_v do_v not_o be_v a_o shame_n to_o his_o word_n and_o to_o the_o minister_n of_o his_o word_n put_v all_o these_o thing_n together_o i_o say_v and_o learn_v to_o make_v conscience_n of_o sanctify_a god_n name_v in_o hear_v the_o word_n that_o so_o there_o may_v be_v none_o of_o you_o that_o may_v give_v any_o just_a occasion_n to_o other_o to_o say_v be_v this_o to_o hear_v sermon_n do_v you_o get_v nothing_o else_o but_o this_o by_o hear_v sermon_n if_o you_o shall_v open_v the_o mouth_n of_o man_n to_o say_v so_o of_o you_o the_o word_n of_o god_n as_o much_o as_o lie_v in_o you_o will_v be_v disgrace_v by_o you_o you_o shall_v rather_o think_v thus_o it_o be_v better_o for_o i_o that_o i_o shall_v die_v and_o that_o i_o be_v under_o the_o ground_n and_o rot_v there_o then_o that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n shall_v ever_o be_v disgrace_v by_o i_o let_v i_o hold_v forth_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o word_n the_o word_n be_v that_o that_o have_v do_v good_a to_o my_o soul_n the_o word_n be_v that_o that_o i_o will_v not_o for_o ten_o thousand_o world_n but_o have_v hear_v it_o and_o shall_v i_o disgrace_v this_o word_n shall_v i_o give_v any_o occasion_n that_o this_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n shall_v be_v speak_v ill_o of_o by_o reason_n of_o i_o o_o god_n forbid_v therefore_o if_o you_o regard_v not_o yourselves_o and_o your_o own_o honour_n yet_o regard_v the_o honour_n of_o the_o word_n if_o ever_o you_o have_v get_v any_o good_a by_o the_o word_n you_o shall_v go_v away_o with_o this_o resolution_n well_o i_o will_v labour_v all_o the_o day_n of_o my_o life_n to_o honour_v this_o word_n of_o god_n that_o i_o have_v get_v so_o much_o good_a by_o if_o this_o be_v but_o the_o resolution_n of_o every_o one_o of_o your_o heart_n this_o morning_n it_o will_v be_v a_o bless_a morning_n work_n sermon_n x._o leviticus_n 10._o 3._o i_o will_v be_v sanctify_v in_o they_o that_o the_o great_a the_o name_n of_o god_n be_v in_o any_o thing_n the_o great_a will_v be_v the_o evil_a if_o we_o do_v not_o sanctify_v god_n name_n in_o it_o now_o there_o be_v very_o much_o of_o god_n in_o his_o word_n more_o of_o god_n there_o then_o in_o all_o his_o work_n of_o creation_n and_o providence_n in_o ps_n 138._o 2._o thou_o have_v magnify_v thy_o word_n above_o all_o thy_o name_n sacrament_n and_o yet_o every_o one_o think_v in_o conscience_n that_o he_o be_v bind_v to_o come_v careful_o to_o the_o sacrament_n and_o to_o look_v to_o sanctify_v god_n name_n there_o it_o be_v a_o easy_a matter_n to_o convince_v man_n and_o woman_n that_o they_o be_v bind_v to_o sanctify_v the_o name_n of_o god_n when_o they_o come_v to_o receive_v the_o holy_a communion_n then_o for_o the_o hear_n of_o the_o word_n they_o think_v not_o so_o much_o of_o that_o but_o certain_o the_o word_n be_v appoint_v to_o be_v a_o ordinance_n of_o convey_v more_o blessing_n than_o the_o sacrament_n because_o it_o be_v appoint_v to_o convey_v the_o first_o grace_n and_o to_o convey_v strength_n of_o grace_n as_o well_o as_o the_o sacrament_n now_o be_v appoint_v to_o convey_v such_o great_a thing_n to_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o elect_a both_o the_o first_o grace_n and_o strengthen_n of_o grace_n and_o comfort_n and_o assistance_n thereof_o the_o lord_n expect_v to_o have_v his_o name_n sanctify_v in_o it_o 3_o three_o the_o name_n of_o god_n must_v be_v sanctify_v in_o the_o word_n because_o the_o word_n be_v very_o quick_a and_o lively_a it_o work_v man_n or_o woman_n to_o life_n or_o death_n to_o salvation_n or_o damnation_n in_o heb._n 4._o 12._o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v quick_a and_o powerful_a and_o sharp_a than_o any_o two_o edge_a sword_n pierce_v even_o to_o the_o divide_v asunder_o of_o soul_n and_o spirit_n etc._n etc._n it_o be_v very_o quick_a of_o operation_n the_o text_n say_v that_o be_v when_o god_n have_v to_o deal_v with_o man_n by_o his_o word_n he_o will_v not_o stand_v dally_v and_o trifle_v with_o they_o but_o he_o be_v very_o quick_a with_o they_o either_o to_o bring_v their_o soul_n to_o life_n or_o to_o cast_v they_o away_o the_o time_n of_o man_n ignorance_n god_n wink_v at_o but_o now_o he_o call_v all_o man_n to_o repent_v let_v they_o look_v to_o it_o now_o god_n do_v forbear_v in_o the_o time_n of_o ignorance_n but_o he_o will_v not_o forbear_v so_o when_o the_o word_n come_v now_o be_v the_o axe_n lay_v to_o the_o root_n of_o the_o tree_n and_o when_o be_v that_o when_o john_n baptist_n come_v to_o preach_v repentance_n because_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n be_v at_o hand_n though_o the_o tree_n be_v barren_a before_o and_o do_v not_o bring_v forth_o good_a fruit_n yet_o it_o may_v stand_v still_o and_o not_o be_v cut_v down_o but_o when_o the_o powerful_a ministration_n of_o the_o word_n come_v than_o the_o axe_n be_v lay_v to_o the_o root_n of_o the_o tree_n either_o now_o come_v in_o and_o
