to_o a_o christian_n every_o day_n be_v a_o sabbath_n day_n and_o therefore_o we_o shall_v not_o restrain_v it_o to_o one_o day_n more_o than_o another_o but_o the_o answer_n to_o this_o be_v that_o it_o be_v most_o false_a for_o god_n do_v not_o require_v neither_o be_v a_o christian_n able_a to_o keep_v every_o day_n a_o sabbath_n day_n so_o long_o as_o they_o remain_v on_o earth_n indeed_o blessing_n upon_o the_o public_a now_o the_o public_a themselves_o be_v to_o join_v with_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o congregasion_n in_o pray_v and_o praise_v god_n with_o one_o hart_n and_o voice_n in_o diligent_a attend_v to_o the_o word_n public_o read_v &_o preach_v for_o there_o be_v a_o great_a blessing_n promise_v to_o this_o ministerial_a read_n then_o to_o any_o man_n read_v at_o home_n then_o also_o the_o use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n as_o to_o be_v present_a at_o baptism_n for_o the_o depart_n away_o argue_v a_o great_a contempt_n of_o it_o and_o with_o a_o public_a disgrace_n of_o god_n ordinance_n for_o if_o one_o or_o two_o have_v liberty_n the_o rest_n have_v the_o like_a and_o then_o where_o be_v the_o reverence_n therefore_o one_o must_v tarry_v at_o such_o exercise_n as_o example_n of_o god_n be_v so_o exact_a and_o altogether_o righteous_a without_o any_o spot_n at_o any_o time_n that_o no_o such_o thing_n can_v be_v allege_v against_o it_o second_o if_o one_o make_v god_n his_o example_n he_o shall_v grow_v better_o and_o better_o because_o still_o he_o shall_v come_v short_a of_o the_o mark_n he_o aim_v at_o &_o never_o be_v able_a to_o attain_v to_o the_o perfection_n which_o be_v in_o his_o example_n so_o that_o still_o he_o shall_v have_v a_o proportion_n to_o go_v on_o and_o to_o grow_v if_o one_o set_v man_n for_o his_o copy_n either_o he_o may_v write_v as_o well_o as_o his_o copy_n or_o at_o least_o he_o may_v imagine_v that_o he_o do_v &_o then_o he_o stand_v at_o a_o stay_n and_o think_v he_o have_v do_v well_o he_o may_v cease_v now_o but_o this_o example_n be_v not_o subject_a to_o such_o conceit_n no_o man_n either_o can_v or_o will_v dream_v that_o he_o can_v be_v as_o good_a as_o god_n so_o that_o here_o be_v still_o occasion_n to_o grow_v conceit_v of_o himself_o but_o now_o he_o leave_v man_n look_n unto_o god_n and_o cast_v his_o eye_n first_o on_o god_n and_o then_o on_o himself_o he_o see_v so_o much_o imperfection_n in_o himself_o and_o such_o infinite_a righteousness_n and_o goodness_n in_o god_n as_o that_o upon_o this_o comparison_n he_o grow_v more_o humble_a and_o holy_a and_o to_o know_v himself_o more_o so_o that_o though_o he_o grow_v better_o every_o day_n than_o other_o yet_o he_o think_v worse_a of_o himself_o every_o day_n than_o other_o and_o have_v a_o great_a insight_n into_o his_o own_o corruption_n by_o how_o much_o he_o get_v more_o strength_n against_o his_o corruption_n in_o these_o regard_v therefore_o and_o for_o these_o reason_n it_o be_v most_o safe_a and_o profitable_a to_o make_v god_n example_n a_o line_n for_o himself_o and_o to_o follow_v his_o precedent_n so_o near_o as_o he_o can_v in_o all_o thing_n this_o than_o may_v serve_v to_o the_o confutation_n of_o those_o man_n that_o let_v pass_v god_n example_n as_o nothing_o pertain_v to_o they_o think_v to_o dash_v all_o commandment_n and_o all_o rebuke_n with_o this_o one_o answer_n that_o all_o man_n do_v so_o as_o though_o it_o be_v a_o sufficient_a buckler_n to_o bear_v off_o all_o god_n commandment_n and_o the_o force_n of_o his_o example_n because_o the_o example_n of_o most_o man_n be_v contrary_a as_o namely_o in_o this_o one_o commandment_n which_o of_o all_o the_o rest_n god_n have_v most_o strong_o fence_v with_o reason_n &_o among_o other_o with_o one_o draw_v from_o his_o own_o practice_n and_o example_n come_v to_o sabbath_n breaker_n that_o abuse_v it_o to_o sin_n and_o vanity_n how_o dare_v you_o be_v so_o bold_a as_o to_o break_v god_n express_a commandment_n with_o so_o high_a a_o hand_n and_o to_o provoke_v he_o to_o his_o face_n thus_o why_o i_o hope_v we_o be_v not_o those_o that_o alone_a play_n upon_o the_o sabbath_n we_o shall_v do_v as_o well_o as_o other_o all_o the_o town_n round_o about_o we_o do_v the_o like_a but_o why_o shall_v not_o you_o look_v to_o god_n commandment_n and_o example_n rather_o than_o to_o wicked_a man_n will_v a_o father_n take_v this_o to_o keep_v it_o you_o let_v sin_n keep_v dominion_n in_o your_o hart_n all_o the_o week_n and_o then_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v dull_a and_o dead_a to_o all_o goodness_n on_o the_o seven_o day_n but_o those_o that_o do_v labour_n to_o walk_v uprightlie_o &_o pure_o before_o god_n six_o day_n find_v such_o comfort_n thereby_o as_o no_o outward_a pleasure_n can_v bring_v nor_o any_o thing_n in_o this_o world_n but_o only_o the_o ordinance_n of_o god_n can_v afford_v second_o this_o teach_v we_o to_o lay_v as_o a_o duty_n every_o one_o upon_o his_o own_o conscience_n to_o remember_v this_o day_n &_o in_o all_o our_o affair_n to_o have_v this_o in_o our_o mind_n that_o we_o entangle_v not_o ourselves_o by_o any_o business_n which_o may_v hinder_v we_o from_o keep_v of_o it_o first_o because_o we_o have_v so_o direct_a a_o item_n as_o we_o call_v it_o to_o remember_v this_o day_n second_o because_o whereas_o god_n content_v himself_o in_o all_o the_o other_o commandment_n whereas_o other_o of_o the_o commandment_n for_o the_o most_o part_n have_v no_o reason_n annex_v to_o they_o in_o the_o decalogue_n though_o in_o the_o scripture_n else_o where_o they_o have_v this_o and_o the_o second_o commandment_n have_v diverse_a reason_n add_v unto_o they_o that_o man_n may_v have_v a_o great_a regard_n unto_o it_o therefore_o if_o we_o will_v do_v any_o thing_n for_o god_n insist_v upon_o that_o and_o give_v he_o reason_n upon_o reason_n why_o he_o shall_v have_v a_o special_a care_n of_o it_o but_o so_o god_n say_v to_o we_o he_o give_v we_o warn_v before_o show_v that_o we_o be_v ready_a to_o forget_v it_o but_o he_o will_v have_v we_o strive_v against_o this_o forgetfulness_n and_o then_o because_o we_o shall_v not_o forget_v but_o do_v it_o he_o urge_v it_o and_o sacrament_n more_o than_o of_o any_o idle_a tale_n and_o profane_a story_n no_o grace_n wrought_v by_o it_o no_o death_n of_o sin_n no_o hope_n nor_o desire_n of_o heaven_n but_o live_v as_o beast_n no_o recourse_n to_o god_n in_o christ_n jesus_n nor_o no_o virtue_n that_o they_o draw_v from_o christ_n so_o that_o indeed_o they_o do_v not_o live_v in_o christ_n but_o be_v dead_a in_o do_v such_o exercise_n but_o at_o even_o when_o darkness_n come_v then_o come_v the_o work_n of_o darkness_n and_o when_o they_o be_v in_o their_o bed_n than_o they_o be_v plod_v and_o cast_v about_o for_o worldly_a affair_n and_o their_o head_n be_v as_o busy_a &_o as_o full_a of_o earthly_a matter_n as_o any_o night_n in_o the_o week_n else_o but_o we_o be_v to_o know_v that_o the_o sabbath_n contain_v day_n and_o night_n when_o he_o say_v six_o day_n shall_v thou_o labour_v and_o we_o upon_o that_o permission_n and_o allowance_n of_o god_n take_v it_o for_o grant_v that_o in_o the_o night_n we_o may_v do_v what_o business_n we_o have_v to_o do_v &_o when_o we_o be_v in_o bed_n may_v spend_v the_o time_n in_o order_v our_o private_a affair_n and_o ponder_v how_o to_o deal_v in_o such_o thing_n as_o we_o have_v to_o deal_v in_o by_o reason_n of_o our_o call_n i_o say_v if_o we_o do_v this_o and_o think_v as_o indeed_o it_o be_v true_a that_o he_o give_v we_o the_o night_n and_o day_n both_o for_o our_o calling_n why_o be_v it_o not_o so_o in_o the_o sabbath_n then_o that_o he_o take_v the_o seven_o day_n &_o night_n to_o himself_o as_o well_o as_o he_o give_v six_o to_o us._n therefore_o we_o must_v know_v that_o the_o lord_n day_n must_v contain_v twenty-four_o hour_n and_o for_o want_v of_o this_o we_o deprive_v ourselves_o of_o those_o blessing_n which_o else_o we_o may_v have_v because_o we_o undo_v that_o in_o the_o night_n that_o we_o do_v in_o the_o day_n we_o do_v god_n work_n one_o part_n of_o his_o day_n and_o that_o be_v well_o but_o we_o come_v to_o misery_n or_o if_o they_o do_v thrive_v in_o the_o world_n and_o whore_v up_o outward_a riches_n the_o curse_n of_o god_n seize_v more_o violent_o on_o their_o soul_n and_o this_o be_v dangerous_a and_o miserable_a a_o course_n of_o live_v secondlie_o since_o god_n do_v promise_v a_o blessing_n upon_o those_o that_o sanctify_v his_o sabbath_n that_o they_o shall_v thrive_v in_o the_o lord_n house_n and_o in_o religion_n and_o in_o other_o worldly_a matter_n so_o far_o as_o may_v stand_v with_o true_a prosperity_n since_o he_o have_v speak_v this_o &_o that_o must_v stand_v which_o go_v out_o of_o his_o mouth_n therefore_o it_o be_v for_o their_o comfort_n that_o the_o blessing_n of_o god_n shall_v attend_v upon_o they_o whether_o they_o have_v little_a or_o much_o if_o
