faith by hearing or the preaching of faith I confess outward faith may come by the letter preached but saving faith is of the gift from above Then salvation is onely of God and not from the letter Then how hard a thing is it for a Priest to convert souls Even as to create the whole creation Therefore Doctor Priest thou must surely lay down thy power for thou hast taken upon thee a work of renovation which is beyond Ministers art and skill for Christ is the souls solempnicy and the first moving cause of our salvation he is our Minister and sollicitor and ye dissembling Christs that say Definators Merit-mongers that call your selves the Seers in Israel or Watch-men over poor souls Alas Doctors your sorrow is at hand Mic. 3. saith The seer shall be ashamed and the diviner confounded they shall cover their mouth for there is no answer of God You call your selves soul-savers but we may call you Wise-men that beguile the people whose counsel shall stand but a while for the Prophet
