give_v sight_n be_v induce_v by_o the_o miracle_n wrought_v on_o he_o to_o begin_v to_o believe_v in_o our_o saviour_n that_o he_o be_v a_o prophet_n and_o verse_n 35_o 36_o 37._o after_o that_o the_o jew_n have_v excommunicate_v he_o for_o this_o his_o profession_n our_o saviour_n theâ—_n find_v he_o and_o say_v unto_o he_o do_v thou_o believe_v in_o the_o son_n of_o god_n he_o answer_v and_o say_v who_o be_v he_o lord_n that_o i_o may_v believe_v in_o he_o whereupon_o so_o soon_o as_o our_o saviour_n answer_v he_o both_o thou_o have_v see_v he_o and_o he_o it_o be_v that_o talk_v with_o thou_o the_o man_n be_v confirm_v to_o believe_v in_o he_o and_o say_v lord_n i_o believe_v and_o worship_v he_o and_o chap._n 1â—_n verse_n 15._o i_o be_v glad_a for_o your_o sake_n say_v our_o saviour_n speak_v of_o the_o death_n of_o lazarus_n that_o i_o be_v not_o there_o that_o you_o may_v believe_v but_o let_v we_o go_v unto_o he_o and_o verse_n 45._o many_o of_o the_o jew_n say_v the_o man_n will_v believe_v in_o he_o etc._n etc._n verse_n 46_o 47_o 48._o and_o in_o the_o next_o chapter_n verse_n 10_o 11._o the_o high_a priest_n consult_v that_o they_o may_v put_v lazarus_n to_o death_n also_o because_o that_o for_o his_o sake_n many_o of_o the_o jew_n go_v away_o and_o believe_v in_o he_o and_o verse_n 17.18.19_o the_o people_n that_o be_v with_o he_o do_v bear_v witness_n that_o he_o call_v lazarus_n out_o of_o the_o grave_n and_o raise_v he_o from_o the_o dead_a therefore_o meet_v he_o the_o people_n also_o because_o they_o hear_v that_o he_o have_v do_v this_o miracle_n whereupon_o as_o it_o follow_v in_o the_o evangelist_n the_o pharisy_n say_v among_o themselves_o perceive_v you_o not_o how_o you_o prevail_v nothing_o behold_v the_o world_n go_v after_o rehearse_v the_o word_n of_o the_o text_n which_o be_v they_o answer_n then_o say_v jesus_n unto_o he_o put_v up_o thy_o sword_n into_o his_o place_n for_o all_o that_o take_v the_o sword_n shall_v the_o sword_n shall_v perish_v with_o the_o sword_n to_o wit_n unless_o they_o be_v call_v of_o god_n and_o have_v the_o sword_n put_v into_o their_o hand_n by_o his_o appointment_n the_o second_o reason_n of_o our_o saviour_n to_o the_o reproof_n of_o peter_n be_v for_o that_o his_o enterprise_n be_v as_o vain_a and_o needle_n as_o it_o be_v evil_a and_o unlawful_a for_o say_v he_o think_v thou_o that_o i_o can_v now_o pray_v to_o my_o father_n and_o he_o will_v give_v i_o more_o than_o twelve_o legion_n of_o angel_n that_o be_v many_o thousand_o yea_o many_o time_n ten_o thousand_o for_o every_o legion_n contain_v diverse_a thousand_o and_o therefore_o peter_n attempt_n be_v mere_o vain_a the_o three_o reason_n be_v the_o same_o in_o effect_n with_o that_o which_o we_o have_v other_o shall_v have_v restore_v and_o deliver_v he_o that_o he_o shall_v not_o be_v apprehend_v etc._n etc._n how_o then_o shall_v the_o scripture_n be_v fulfil_v which_o say_v that_o it_o must_v be_v so_o these_o so_o many_o and_o so_o weighty_a reason_n do_v plentiful_o declare_v in_o very_a deed_n and_o truth_n that_o the_o fact_n of_o peter_n be_v exceed_o dislike_v of_o he_o and_o that_o his_o soul_n be_v great_o grieve_v at_o it_o yea_o &_o therewithal_o so_o evident_o do_v they_o clear_v the_o innocency_n of_o our_o savi_fw-la ch_n that_o none_o of_o his_o adversary_n can_v take_v our_o saviour_n record_v question_n answer_n this_o we_o read_v in_o the_o 22._o chapter_n of_o the_o evangelist_n luke_n verse_n 51._o jesus_n say_v the_o evangelist_n answer_v and_o say_v suffer_v they_o that_o be_v my_o disciple_n thus_o far_o to_o wit_n though_o they_o have_v deal_v disorderly_a and_o then_o he_o touch_v the_o ear_n of_o the_o man_n and_o heal_v he_o explication_n explication_n here_o indeed_o be_v a_o very_a gracious_a and_o miraculous_a work_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n not_o only_o in_o heal_v the_o ear_n but_o also_o in_o that_o by_o his_o authority_n he_o limit_v and_o bound_v the_o rage_n and_o fury_n of_o the_o whole_a company_n so_o as_o they_o be_v content_a to_o be_v prescribe_v and_o order_v by_o he_o in_o this_o difficult_a and_o provoke_a fact_n of_o peter_n together_o with_o the_o buskle_v of_o the_o rest_n of_o his_o disciple_n the_o which_o authority_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n do_v furthermore_o appear_v in_o that_o which_o follow_v by_o his_o reproof_n which_o he_o give_v not_o only_o to_o the_o whole_a multitude_n as_o the_o evangelist_n matthew_n report_v but_o by_o special_a direction_n to_o to_o the_o high_a priest_n themselves_o and_o to_o the_o captain_n of_o the_o temple_n and_o to_o the_o elder_n of_o the_o people_n for_o their_o causeless_a and_o unjust_a manner_n of_o pursue_v of_o he_o what_o be_v the_o word_n of_o this_o reproof_n question_n answer_n in_o the_o 57_o of_o the_o forename_a 22._o chapter_n of_o st._n luke_n thus_o we_o read_v then_o jesus_n say_v unto_o the_o high_a priest_n and_o whole_a band_n of_o man_n with_o more_o than_o humane_a authority_n to_o the_o convince_a of_o they_o of_o their_o unjust_a course_n in_o their_o proceed_n against_o he_o and_o give_v they_o plain_o to_o understand_v if_o they_o have_v have_v any_o grace_n to_o understand_v that_o they_o be_v set_v a_o work_n by_o the_o devil_n and_o that_o if_o god_n have_v not_o thus_o far_o give_v pleasure_n of_o god_n and_o according_a as_o he_o have_v foretell_v in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n not_o only_o as_o isaak_n be_v bind_v when_o abraham_n his_o father_n intend_v at_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n to_o offer_v he_o up_o in_o sacrifice_n to_o god_n but_o even_o as_o the_o figurative_a sacrifice_n of_o the_o law_n which_o be_v bind_v first_o and_o then_o slay_v and_o offer_v indeed_o as_o abraham_n also_o afterward_o bind_v the_o ram_n and_o offer_v he_o instead_o of_o isaak_n the_o truth_n of_o all_o which_o sacrifice_n be_v even_o then_o short_o fulfil_v in_o
