in_o the_o condition_n to_o this_o i_o answer_v two_o thing_n in_o two_o word_n 1._o imputation_n of_o work_n or_o of_o righteousness_n be_v not_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n but_o believe_v if_o imputation_n be_v the_o condition_n than_o the_o whole_a covenant_n shall_v lie_v upon_o god_n and_o nothing_o shall_v be_v require_v on_o the_o creature_n part_n for_o imputation_n be_v a_o act_n of_o god_n not_o of_o man_n 2._o i_o answer_v that_o if_o it_o be_v grant_v that_o the_o righteousness_n or_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n impute_v from_o christ_n be_v that_o whereby_o we_o be_v justify_v yet_o they_o must_v justify_v not_o as_o impute_v but_o as_o righteousness_n or_o work_n of_o the_o law_n therefore_o imputation_n make_v no_o difference_n in_o this_o verum_fw-la prius_fw-la ergo_fw-la et_fw-la posterius_fw-la for_o the_o consequence_n in_o the_o major_a proposition_n it_o be_v so_o evident_a in_o common_a apprehension_n that_o to_o labour_v any_o further_a illustration_n of_o it_o be_v but_o to_o light_v up_o a_o candle_n to_o the_o sun_n because_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o righteousness_n or_o justification_n of_o a_o believer_n stand_v in_o that_o relation_n we_o speak_v of_o the_o one_o to_o the_o other_o as_o the_o cause_n to_o the_o effect_n the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n be_v the_o meritorious_a cause_n and_o the_o righteousness_n of_o a_o believer_n or_o person_n justify_v as_o the_o effect_n merit_v and_o effect_v by_o that_o cause_n and_o for_o the_o minor_a that_o be_v every_o whit_n as_o evident_a and_o undeniable_a as_o it_o viz._n that_o the_o thing_n merit_v can_v be_v the_o same_o with_o that_o which_o be_v the_o meritorious_a cause_n of_o it_o for_o so_o the_o same_o thing_n shall_v be_v the_o meritorious_a cause_n of_o itself_o a_o conclusion_n so_o broad_a that_o there_o be_v no_o apprehension_n so_o weak_a but_o have_v strength_n enough_o to_o disclaim_v neither_o can_v it_o be_v here_o say_v sect_n 2_o that_o though_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n can_v be_v meritorious_a of_o itself_o simple_o yet_o be_v a_o righteousness_n wrought_v by_o christ_n it_o wall_n there_o be_v none_o of_o the_o efficient_a cause_n produce_v lt_n either_o any_o part_n of_o it_o or_o any_o ingredient_n into_o it_o neither_o the_o plasterer_n himself_o who_o be_v the_o principal_a efficient_a cause_n of_o it_o nor_o his_o brush_n or_o pencil_n which_o be_v the_o instrumental_a efficient_a cause_n nor_o the_o money_n or_o wage_n he_o receive_v for_o the_o do_v it_o which_o be_v as_o the_o meritorious_a efficient_a cause_n of_o it_o none_o of_o all_o these_o be_v any_o intrinsical_n or_o constitute_a part_n of_o the_o effect_n neither_o as_o the_o matter_n nor_o as_o the_o form_n thereof_o the_o whiteness_n apply_v or_o put_v upon_o the_o matter_n or_o subject_n viz._n the_o wall_n by_o all_o the_o three_o efficient_n according_a to_o their_o several_a satisfaction_n though_o he_o be_v never_o so_o eminent_a in_o the_o grace_n and_o practice_v of_o justice_n but_o in_o many_o case_n of_o injury_n sustain_v a_o man_n may_v be_v bind_v in_o point_n of_o wisdom_n and_o discretion_n to_o seek_v satisfaction_n in_o one_o kind_a or_o other_o austin_n of_o old_a and_o d._n twist_n of_o late_a beside_o many_o other_o orthodox_n &_o learned_a divine_n
