name_n and_o it_o be_v necessary_a 24._o because_o of_o the_o phariseyes_n doctrine_n which_o teach_v that_o man_n be_v justify_v by_o their_o own_o work_n which_o opinion_n also_o many_o hold_n in_o we_o plain_o that_o we_o must_v of_o duty_n repent_v and_o yet_o that_o all_o desert_n of_o justification_n be_v to_o be_v have_v in_o christ_n only_o therefore_o whosoever_o make_v no_o mention_n of_o christ_n in_o teach_v of_o repentance_n offend_v against_o the_o example_n of_o peter_n and_o so_o be_v they_o cause_n to_o the_o ignorant_a to_o establish_v their_o own_o righteousness_n wherein_o they_o can_v find_v no_o certainty_n nor_o soundness_n next_o he_o speak_v of_o outward_a baptism_n sin_n which_o he_o command_v they_o to_o receive_v for_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n which_o word_n be_v not_o so_o to_o be_v understand_v as_o though_o outward_a baptism_n wash_v we_o from_o sin_n for_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o we_o be_v cleanse_v from_o all_o our_o sin_n by_o the_o they_o which_o be_v contain_v within_o the_o testament_n of_o christ_n and_o be_v therefore_o justify_v receive_v baptism_n for_o remission_n of_o sin_n that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n which_o he_o have_v give_v we_o in_o christ_n be_v seal_v in_o they_o by_o baptism_n wherefore_o peter_n by_o this_o manner_n of_o speech_n assure_v they_o of_o their_o salvation_n and_o comfort_v they_o by_o a_o argument_n deduce_v or_o take_v of_o the_o end_n of_o baptism_n in_o the_o mean_a season_n because_o we_o be_v take_v into_o the_o church_n of_o god_n by_o baptism_n and_o be_v become_v professor_n of_o christ_n as_o people_n which_o under_o his_o conduct_n must_v fight_v against_o this_o world_n and_o the_o prince_n thereof_o peter_n require_v further_a of_o they_o necessary_a a_o free_a and_o a_o open_a confession_n of_o their_o faith_n in_o christ_n for_o christ_n will_v have_v no_o such_o worshipper_n as_o shall_v be_v ashamed_a of_o he_o howbeit_o the_o some_o hope_n of_o grace_n and_o favour_n then_o again_o lest_o they_o shall_v trust_v in_o the_o work_n of_o penance_n and_o lean_a upon_o their_o own_o righteousness_n he_o send_v they_o to_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n and_o to_o his_o merit_n at_o length_n he_o command_v they_o to_o profess_v christ_n open_o and_o to_o join_v themselves_o to_o his_o church_n this_o order_n of_o teach_v we_o see_v the_o apostle_n every_o where_o observe_v which_o they_o have_v learn_v of_o christ_n their_o master_n as_o no_o man_n can_v deny_v for_o thus_o he_o say_v a_o little_a afore_o his_o departure_n from_o hence_o 28._o it_o be_v necessary_a that_o repentance_n and_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n shall_v be_v preach_v to_o all_o nation_n in_o my_o name_n go_v you_o therefore_o into_o all_o the_o guilty_a of_o such_o a_o heinous_a wickedness_n as_o have_v not_o be_v see_v the_o like_a he_o comfort_v they_o with_o a_o double_a promise_n as_o be_v the_o manner_n of_o the_o gospel_n for_o fear_v they_o shall_v be_v swallow_v up_o of_o desperation_n first_o you_o shall_v receive_v say_v he_o the_o gift_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n ghost_n he_o seem_v to_o speak_v of_o a_o peculiar_a gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n such_o as_o in_o the_o time_n of_o the_o primitive_a church_n the_o believer_n be_v endue_v with_o either_o to_o speak_v with_o diverse_a tongue_n or_o else_o to_o be_v notable_a in_o other_o miracle_n as_o hereafter_o in_o the_o eight_o chapter_n it_o shall_v appear_v more_o plain_o for_o it_o behoove_v to_o have_v the_o ministry_n of_o the_o apostle_n adorn_v with_o some_o singular_a gift_n to_o the_o end_n man_n may_v the_o more_o easy_o be_v win_v unto_o christ_n and_o although_o these_o gift_n in_o these_o day_n for_o the_o most_o part_n be_v cease_v yet_o there_o remain_v other_o more_o necessary_a effect_n of_o the_o spirit_n through_o who_o operation_n the_o believe_a be_v regenerate_v mortify_v renew_a assure_v of_o their_o salvation_n embolden_v and_o confirm_v in_o peril_n so_o that_o they_o dare_v stout_o &_o without_o any_o fear_n stand_v to_o the_o confession_n of_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n for_o it_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n which_o use_v to_o work_v all_o these_o thing_n in_o the_o child_n of_o god_n that_o they_o have_v need_n of_o in_o this_o world_n this_o promise_n be_v able_a singular_o to_o comfort_v they_o who_o conscience_n be_v afraid_a by_o reason_n of_o sin_n for_o how_o can_v they_o doubt_v to_o have_v forgiveness_n of_o their_o sin_n which_o hear_v they_o shall_v have_v the_o same_o spirit_n that_o the_o apostle_n have_v in_o the_o mean_a season_n this_o promise_n serve_v also_o for_o our_o instruction_n for_o it_o teach_v we_o that_o true_a believer_n and_o christian_n can_v utter_o be_v destitute_a of_o the_o gift_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n there_o be_v diverse_a operation_n and_o diverse_a gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n as_o paul_n say_v and_o we_o see_v that_o some_o excel_v other_o some_o therein_o but_o there_o be_v not_o the_o mean_a of_o they_o all_o that_o be_v utter_o void_a of_o the_o spirit_n because_o they_o be_v not_o the_o member_n of_o christ_n which_o have_v not_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ._n 8._o therefore_o â—aine_o be_v the_o profession_n of_o christ_n except_o we_o show_v and_o declare_v that_o we_o be_v quicken_v and_o govern_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o
