heaven_n and_o earth_n the_o apostle_n therefore_o tell_v we_o that_o by_o the_o creation_n of_o the_o world_n be_v understand_v the_o eternal_a power_n of_o god_n rom._n 1.20_o when_o god_n show_v his_o power_n in_o create_v o_o what_o a_o great_a and_o stupendous_a work_n do_v he_o produce_v and_o therefore_o certain_o when_o god_n shall_v likewise_o show_v his_o power_n in_o destroy_v the_o destruction_n need_v be_v alas_o we_o be_v crush_v before_o the_o moth_n and_o must_v needs_o perish_v if_o god_n do_v but_o suspend_v the_o influence_n of_o his_o power_n from_o we_o how_o dreadful_o then_o will_v he_o destroy_v when_o he_o shall_v lay_v forth_o his_o infinite_a power_n to_o do_v it_o who_o can_v easy_o do_v it_o without_o power_n and_o thus_o i_o have_v lay_v down_o some_o demonstration_n of_o the_o dreadfulness_n of_o the_o wrath_n and_o vengeance_n of_o god_n five_o of_o they_o draw_v from_o the_o word_n of_o the_o text_n and_o five_o draw_v from_o other_o consideration_n i_o shall_v now_o shut_v up_o with_o two_o or_o three_o word_n of_o application_n use_v 1_o first_o then_o be_v persuade_v to_o believe_v that_o there_o be_v such_o a_o dreadful_a wrath_n to_o come_v i_o know_v well_o you_o all_o profess_v that_o you_o do_v believe_v that_o as_o there_o be_v unconceivable_a reward_n of_o glory_n reserve_v in_o heaven_n for_o the_o saint_n so_o that_o there_o be_v inexhaustible_a treasure_n of_o wrath_n reserve_v and_o lay_v up_o in_o hell_n for_o all_o ungodly_a and_o impenitent_a sinner_n but_o o_o how_o few_o be_v there_o that_o do_v real_o and_o cordial_o believe_v these_o thing_n man_n own_o life_n may_v be_v evident_a conviction_n to_o themselves_o of_o their_o atheism_n and_o infidelity_n for_o the_o true_a reason_n of_o all_o that_o dissoluteness_n which_o we_o see_v abroad_o in_o the_o world_n proceed_v much_o from_o hence_o because_o man_n be_v not_o persuade_v that_o these_o dreadful_a terror_n of_o the_o lord_n which_o have_v now_o be_v set_v before_o we_o be_v any_o thing_n but_o a_o honest_a artifice_n they_o look_v upon_o they_o as_o thing_n only_o invent_v to_o scare_v the_o world_n into_o good_a order_n and_o to_o awe_v man_n into_o some_o compass_n of_o civility_n and_o honesty_n they_o think_v all_o those_o tremendous_a threaten_n that_o god_n have_v denounce_v in_o his_o law_n to_o be_v thing_n intend_v rather_o to_o fright_v man_n than_o to_o do_v execution_n upon_o they_o and_o whereas_o one_o of_o the_o most_o effectual_a motive_n to_o piety_n and_o a_o holy_a life_n be_v to_o be_v persuade_v of_o the_o terror_n of_o the_o lord_n these_o be_v not_o yet_o persuade_v that_o there_o be_v any_o such_o terror_n but_o assure_v yourselves_o these_o be_v not_o the_o extravagant_a dream_n of_o melancholy_a fancy_n nor_o the_o politic_a imposture_n of_o man_n that_o design_v to_o amuse_v the_o world_n with_o frightful_a story_n but_o they_o be_v sad_a and_o serious_a truth_n such_o as_o however_o you_o may_v now_o slight_a &_o contemn_v yet_o shall_v you_o be_v woeful_o convince_v of_o by_o your_o own_o experience_n when_o after_o a_o few_o year_n or_o possible_o a_o few_o day_n
