peter_n number_n be_v short_a of_o christ_n number_n oh_o what_o cause_n have_v we_o to_o be_v humble_v one_o of_o the_o evangelist_n have_v it_o if_o thy_o brother_n offend_v thou_o seven_o time_n in_o a_o day_n and_o say_v i_o repent_v thou_o shall_v forgive_v he_o oh_o how_o far_o be_v we_o from_o forgive_a seven_a time_n in_o a_o day_n we_o be_v so_o far_o from_o forgive_a seven_a offence_n in_o one_o day_n as_o we_o many_o time_n remember_v one_o offence_n seven_o day_n nay_o seven_o year_n together_o oh_o how_o unlike_a be_v this_o to_o christ_n oh_o let_v we_o therefore_o labour_n and_o injury_n be_v a_o duty_n which_o christ_n commend_v unto_o and_o command_v all_o his_o disciple_n to_o follow_v i_o say_v until_o seventy_o time_n seven_o 1._o first_o i_o shall_v clear_v this_o point_n to_o you_o from_o scripture_n and_o show_v you_o from_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n that_o this_o be_v a_o duty_n that_o be_v incumbent_n upon_o all_o that_o profess_v themselves_o to_o be_v christ_n disciple_n 2._o second_o i_o shall_v hold_v forth_o unto_o you_o divers_a example_n of_o worthy_a and_o gracious_a man_n who_o have_v practise_v this_o duty_n 3._o three_o and_o then_o boldness_n the_o lord_n have_v deliver_v and_o he_o do_v deliver_v and_o he_o will_v deliver_v he_o gain_v abundance_n of_o submission_n to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n by_o contemplation_n on_o his_o condition_n and_o by_o this_o he_o know_v how_o to_o want_v as_o well_o as_o how_o to_o abound_v and_o he_o can_v do_v all_o thing_n through_o christ_n that_o strengthen_v he_o and_o it_o be_v his_o obedience_n to_o the_o will_n of_o christ_n which_o strengthen_v he_o and_o i_o believe_v there_o be_v none_o of_o god_n people_n that_o will_v bring_v in_o their_o experience_n if_o they_o will_v true_o and_o impartial_o cast_v up_o their_o account_n but_o they_o will_v and_o shall_v find_v that_o god_n have_v make_v they_o gainer_n by_o their_o loss_n and_o by_o their_o several_a affliction_n that_o god_n have_v lay_v upon_o they_o they_o have_v gain_v at_o least_o this_o to_o know_v that_o they_o be_v nothing_o they_o see_v themselves_o what_o fruitless_a unprofitable_a creature_n they_o be_v and_o they_o have_v know_v what_o the_o creature_n be_v when_o god_n be_v at_o a_o distance_n they_o have_v see_v something_o of_o themselves_o and_o something_o of_o god_n and_o if_o there_o be_v no_o more_o than_o this_o this_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o gain_n and_o that_o it_o be_v true_a of_o all_o these_o death_n the_o lord_n make_v his_o people_n gainer_n by_o they_o and_o he_o lead_v they_o through_o these_o condition_n because_o he_o intend_v to_o make_v they_o gainer_n by_o they_o every_o affliction_n that_o he_o send_v be_v a_o servant_n of_o christ_n every_o afflict_a condition_n be_v a_o servant_n of_o christ_n and_o be_v send_v with_o a_o good_a message_n be_v send_v to_o communicate_v some_o good_a thing_n to_o the_o soul_n of_o every_o believer_n god_n stand_v up_o and_o say_v as_o in_o another_o case_n who_o will_v go_v and_o persuade_v ahab_n and_o the_o spirit_n answer_v i_o god_n say_v who_o will_v go_v and_o carry_v tiding_n of_o love_n from_o heaven_n to_o such_o a_o soul_n something_o of_o himself_o something_o of_o the_o divine_a nature_n god_n have_v store_n of_o messenger_n that_o will_v i_o say_v one_o mercy_n and_o that_o will_v i_o say_v another_o affliction_n be_v all_o ready_a to_o communicate_v some_o good_a thing_n to_o those_o that_o love_v the_o lord_n christ_n and_o indeed_o they_o be_v narrow_a pipe_n all_o these_o condition_n that_o the_o saint_n be_v bring_v into_o they_o be_v narrow_a pipe_n they_o can_v convey_v but_o a_o little_a a_o very_a little_a of_o god_n by_o they_o now_o god_n be_v a_o infinite_a fountain_n and_o he_o can_v convey_v much_o of_o himself_o one_o condition_n be_v too_o little_a too_o narrow_a for_o god_n to_o work_v in_o too_o narrow_a a_o pipe_n for_o god_n to_o pour_v in_o all_o that_o good_a which_o he_o intend_v for_o his_o servant_n therefore_o he_o choose_v variety_n of_o work_n great_a mercy_n and_o variety_n of_o affliction_n they_o be_v all_o the_o servant_n of_o god_n and_o they_o have_v commission_n to_o go_v and_o work_v for_o such_o a_o man_n to_o work_v for_o such_o a_o man_n good_a the_o promise_n be_v give_v to_o the_o believer_n that_o all_o shall_v work_v together_o for_o good_a so_o that_o all_o be_v his_o servant_n all_o death_n affliction_n persecution_n whatsoever_o distress_n his_o people_n shall_v meet_v withal_o shall_v work_v together_o for_o good_a they_o must_v needs_o gain_v a_o man_n that_o have_v a_o multitude_n of_o servant_n that_o work_v for_o he_o it_o be_v all_o for_o their_o good_a as_o well_o as_o he_o why_o believer_n have_v servant_n and_o you_o must_v needs_o be_v gainer_n and_o true_o god_n know_v that_o their_o gain_n be_v his_o gain_n he_o will_v gain_v by_o their_o gain_n and_o therefore_o will_v make_v their_o death_n to_o be_v gain_n to_o they_o for_o it_o come_v back_o again_o to_o his_o treasury_n he_o know_v that_o his_o people_n will_v not_o purse_v his_o glory_n will_v not_o put_v up_o that_o which_o be_v god_n if_o god_n do_v come_v in_o and_o make_v they_o gainer_n by_o their_o affliction_n if_o god_n do_v enlarge_v their_o heart_n and_o set_v they_o free_a they_o will_v say_v by_o my_o own_o hand_n have_v i_o make_v myself_o rich_a by_o my_o own_o industry_n i_o have_v get_v this_o wealth_n this_o strength_n this_o peace_n this_o liberty_n for_o what_o be_v we_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o walk_v answerable_o to_o any_o measure_n that_o god_n give_v out_o unto_o we_o but_o again_o god_n will_v make_v death_n itself_o gain_v unto_o we_o not_o only_o lesser_a death_n but_o the_o great_a death_n it_o shall_v be_v gain_n even_o that_o separation_n of_o soul_n from_o body_n which_o to_o the_o wicked_a man_n be_v the_o worst_a of_o death_n christ_n become_v gain_v to_o that_o soul_n who_o life_n christ_n be_v i_o will_v tell_v you_o in_o one_o particular_a and_o leave_v the_o rest_n wherein_o death_n be_v gain_v to_o that_o soul_n who_o life_n christ_n be_v and_o that_o be_v this_o he_o shall_v gain_v rest_n bless_a be_v those_o that_o die_v in_o the_o lord_n in_o rev._n 14._o 13._o bless_a be_v the_o dead_a which_o die_v in_o the_o lord_n from_o henceforth_o yea_o say_v the_o spirit_n that_o they_o may_v rest_v from_o their_o labour_n and_o their_o work_n do_v follow_v they_o that_o be_v their_o nature_n he_o speak_v in_o a_o time_n of_o persecution_n which_o they_o that_o die_v in_o the_o lord_n shall_v rest_v sweet_o from_o these_o their_o labour_n this_o world_n be_v a_o troublesome_a world_n a_o very_a turmoil_a world_n full_a of_o trouble_n wicked_a man_n rest_v in_o their_o grave_n they_o that_o can_v never_o rest_v well_o but_o in_o wickedness_n they_o rest_v in_o their_o grave_n but_o what_o then_o where_o be_v the_o gain_n that_o the_o righteous_a man_n rest_v in_o for_o they_o both_o rest_n in_o their_o grave_n 1._o first_o there_o be_v a_o difference_n in_o their_o rest_n the_o wicked_a man_n rest_n be_v partial_a it_o be_v but_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o body_n the_o flesh_n only_o it_o be_v not_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o spirit_n it_o be_v a_o imperfect_a rest_n they_o do_v not_o lie_v down_o to_o rest_v sweet_o on_o their_o bed_n with_o those_o peaceful_a thought_n that_o the_o righteous_a man_n have_v in_o his_o go_n to_o bed_n to_o the_o grave_a o_o their_o rest_n be_v a_o troublesome_a rest_n it_o be_v say_v but_o now_o we_o may_v say_v on_o the_o contrary_a that_o the_o very_a flesh_n of_o the_o wicked_a man_n rest_v in_o fear_n his_o very_a flesh_n rest_v in_o fear_n
for_o the_o commonness_n as_o well_o as_o for_o the_o usefulness_n of_o that_o fruit_n that_o none_o may_v plead_v ignorance_n that_o they_o may_v not_o plead_v excuse_n that_o none_o may_v say_v he_o be_v such_o a_o fruit_n as_o none_o can_v buy_v that_o they_o can_v not_o come_v at_o no_o christ_n will_v be_v resemble_v unto_o that_o which_o be_v common_a that_o he_o may_v be_v hold_v forth_o such_o a_o delight_n in_o be_v useful_a in_o be_v serviceable_a in_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n unto_o his_o father_n fruit_n that_o shall_v be_v for_o the_o good_a of_o the_o son_n of_o man_n and_o therefore_o let_v we_o look_v to_o christ_n and_o labour_n to_o imitate_v christ_n the_o lord_n he_o delight_v in_o a_o fruitful_a tree_n rather_o than_o in_o a_o tall_a tree_n or_o in_o a_o strong_a a_o kind_n of_o apple_n and_o herein_o we_o call_v to_o mind_v how_o man_n lose_v his_o happiness_n where_o it_o be_v that_o man_n undo_v himself_o how_o sin_n come_v into_o the_o world_n by_o eat_v of_o the_o forbid_a fruit_n as_o also_o it_o hold_v forth_o that_o christ_n have_v take_v away_o that_o curse_v all_o the_o bitterness_n and_o wrath_n for_o his_o people_n which_o be_v the_o fruit_n go_v to_o my_o father_n and_o say_v father_n i_o have_v sin_v against_o heaven_n and_o before_o thou_o etc._n etc._n and_o then_o at_o the_o 20_o verse_n it_o be_v say_v he_o arise_v and_o come_v to_o his_o father_n but_o when_o he_o be_v yet_o a_o great_a way_n off_o his_o father_n see_v he_o and_o have_v compassion_n and_o run_v and_o fall_v on_o his_o neck_n and_o kiss_v he_o mark_v how_o the_o
