thou_o or_o that_o we_o may_v tarry_v in_o the_o example_n of_o james_n the_o carcase_n of_o a_o man_n have_v all_o the_o part_n and_o member_n of_o a_o man_n body_n and_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o it_o be_v not_o a_o man_n because_o it_o lack_v a_o spirit_n say_v he_o in_o the_o last_o verse_n of_o this_o chapter_n so_o that_o same_o faith_n say_v he_o without_o work_v be_v dead_a though_o he_o understand_v and_o beléeve_v the_o foresay_a créede_v of_o th'apostle_n yea_o and_o the_o whole_a bible_n beside_o but_o thou_o will_v say_v these_o thing_n seem_v to_o be_v clean_a contrary_n to_o the_o doctrine_n receive_v among_o we_o and_o to_o the_o write_n of_o paul_n no_o very_o for_o why_o they_o that_o judge_v right_o of_o justification_n by_o faith_n do_v not_o disagree_v from_o james_n neither_o be_v paul_n contrary_a to_o james._n yet_o paul_n say_v that_o we_o be_v justify_v by_o faith_n only_o without_o the_o work_v of_o the_o law_n paul_n indeed_o have_v not_o the_o word_n only_o but_o yet_o when_o he_o say_v that_o we_o be_v justify_v without_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n i_o have_v no_o doubt_n of_o it_o but_o that_o it_o follow_v by_o the_o true_a exposition_n of_o paul_n that_o a_o man_n be_v justify_v by_o faith_n only_o but_o i_o say_v that_o it_o come_v never_o into_o paul_n mind_n to_o affirm_v that_o faith_n which_o be_v without_o work_n do_v justify_v for_o so_o he_o shall_v indeed_o have_v be_v contrary_a to_o james_n but_o he_o attribute_v the_o power_n and_o praise_n of_o justification_n to_o a_o true_a and_o lively_a faith_n which_o be_v never_o void_a of_o good_a work_v and_o not_o to_o the_o work_n themselves_o which_o be_v speak_v by_o he_o not_o only_o witty_o as_o every_o thing_n else_o but_o also_o true_o and_o christianly_o but_o abraham_n thou_o will_v say_v by_o the_o testimony_n of_o moses_n and_o paul_n in_o that_o only_a that_o he_o believe_v god_n promise_v he_o a_o plentiful_a posterity_n be_v account_v righteous_a abraham_n believe_v god_n and_o it_o be_v impute_v to_o he_o for_o righteousness_n but_o will_v thou_o know_v ovaine_n man_n say_v james_n here_o that_o abraham_n be_v not_o justify_v by_o faith_n without_o work_v do_v he_o not_o offer_v up_o his_o son_n isaac_n on_o the_o altar_n abraham_n faith_n than_o be_v not_o that_o fruitless_a and_o barren_a faith_n which_o consist_v in_o the_o knowledge_n or_o in_o the_o ignorant_a belief_n of_o some_o certain_a point_n of_o divinity_n but_o that_o effectual_a and_o work_v faith_n which_o frame_v a_o man_n to_o the_o obedience_n of_o god_n for_o this_o appear_v plain_a by_o the_o life_n and_o deed_n of_o abraham_n but_o yet_o some_o object_n that_o the_o same_o can_v be_v say_v of_o the_o thief_n that_o be_v crucify_v with_o christ_n for_o when_o he_o have_v spend_v his_o whole_a life_n in_o evil_a do_n and_o have_v say_v unto_o christ_n be_v now_o at_o the_o point_n of_o death_n remember_v i_o when_o thou_o come_v into_o thy_o kingdom_n he_o hear_v forthwith_o this_o day_n shall_v thou_o be_v with_o i_o in_o paradise_n and_o immediate_o after_o he_o die_v yea_o but_o say_v i_o the_o faith_n of_o this_o thief_n be_v very_o lively_a and_o effectual_a for_o the_o effect_n of_o a_o lively_a faith_n be_v these_o a_o earnest_a fear_n of_o god_n which_o solomon_n the_o wise_a of_o all_o other_o affirm_v to_o be_v the_o beginning_n of_o wisdom_n secondlye_o the_o invocation_n of_o god_n name_n for_o whosoever_o call_v upon_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n shall_v be_v save_v the_o acknowledgement_n and_o confession_n of_o sin_n love_n and_o dutifulness_n towards_o our_o neighbour_n and_o all_o these_o thing_n in_o that_o little_a space_n of_o time_n do_v the_o lively_a faith_n of_o that_o thief_n utter_v and_o bring_v forth_o for_o that_o he_o be_v affect_v with_o a_o earnest_a fear_n of_o god_n it_o appear_v by_o this_o in_o that_o reprove_v the_o other_o thief_n which_o revile_v christ_n he_o say_v fear_v thou_o not_o god_n that_o rail_v upon_o this_o man_n we_o be_v indeed_o here_o for_o our_o misdeed_n and_o be_v worthy_o punish_v but_o this_o man_n have_v do_v nothing_o amiss_o he_o call_v earnest_o upon_o god_n lord_n say_v he_o remember_v i_o when_o thou_o come_v into_o thy_o kingdom_n he_o acknowledge_v and_o confess_v his_o sin_n we_o be_v just_o punish_v say_v he_o to_o his_o fellow_n whereby_o also_o it_o appear_v that_o he_o suffer_v patient_o so_o cruel_a and_o shameful_a a_o death_n he_o discharge_v his_o duty_n also_o towards_o his_o neighbour_n when_o be_v desirous_a to_o do_v he_o good_a he_o admonish_v he_o that_o he_o shall_v not_o rail_v upon_o christ_n but_o consider_v earnest_o of_o his_o own_o sin_n and_o therefore_o his_o faith_n be_v not_o dead_a but_o live_v and_o affectual_a it_o be_v no_o marvel_n they_o though_o through_o it_o he_o obtain_v life_n which_o by_o a_o dead_a faith_n no_o man_n ever_o obtain_v neither_o shall_v at_o any_o time_n obtain_v but_o see_v this_o dead_a faith_n know_v and_o acknowledge_v god_n to_o be_v almighty_a maker_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n and_o christ_n also_o his_o son_n to_o be_v send_v of_o god_n for_o our_o redemption_n what_o be_v require_v more_o or_o what_o be_v want_v unto_o it_o even_o the_o life_n or_o soul_n as_o james_n declare_v in_o the_o last_o verse_n of_o this_o chap._n whereby_o it_o may_v be_v quicken_v to_o well_o do_v for_o as_o a_o dead_a carcase_n consist_v of_o all_o and_o singular_a his_o part_n and_o member_n and_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o neither_o month_n nor_o live_v because_o it_o want_v a_o soul_n or_o spirit_n which_o may_v give_v it_o power_n to_o move_v and_o live_v even_o so_o faith_n though_o it_o understand_v whatsoever_o be_v necessary_a to_o be_v know_v of_o god_n and_o of_o christ_n our_o saviour_n yet_o if_o it_o be_v destitute_a of_o a_o soul_n or_o spirit_n it_o can_v give_v life_n but_o what_o be_v then_o this_o
