be_v good_a to_o proclaim_v a_o defiance_n to_o thy_o enemy_n but_o better_a it_o be_v to_o overcome_v he_o while_o a_o religious_a person_n perform_v his_o vow_n he_o declare_v himself_o a_o enemy_n to_o the_o world_n but_o when_o he_o discharge_v his_o promise_n make_v by_o vow_n he_o overcom_v and_o vanquisheth_z it_o quite_o how_o convenient_a it_o be_v that_o religious_a man_n bound_v themselves_o to_o god_n by_o three_o vow_n chap._n four_o son_n it_o be_v very_o agreeable_a that_o the_o religious_a be_v furnish_v and_o provide_v of_o the_o arm_n of_o three_o virtue_n which_o he_o have_v promise_v by_o vow_n to_o wit_n poverty_n chastity_n and_o obedience_n when_o the_o soldier_n desire_v to_o imitate_v his_o captain_n and_o to_o arm_v himself_o with_o those_o weapon_n which_o he_o do_v that_o he_o may_v manful_o according_a to_o his_o captain_n pleasure_n fight_v with_o his_o enemy_n he_o be_v worthy_a both_o of_o praise_n and_o reward_n i_o be_o the_o captain_n and_o general_n of_o all_o the_o religious_a warfare_n who_o have_v march_v in_o the_o vanguard_n with_o these_o three_o virtue_n and_o have_v show_v all_o my_o follower_n how_o they_o shall_v fight_v with_o these_o arm_n i_o overcome_v my_o enemy_n &_o triumph_v over_o they_o &_o therefore_o meet_v it_o be_v that_o the_o religious_a who_o serve_v under_o my_o colour_n and_o be_v to_o fight_v with_o the_o same_o enemy_n shall_v use_v and_o handle_v the_o same_o weapon_n which_o if_o they_o do_v as_o they_o ought_v they_o can_v but_o go_v out_o of_o the_o field_n victorious_a the_o but_o yet_o if_o there_o want_v love_n in_o the_o hart_n neither_o the_o tongue_n not_o the_o ear_n will_v busy_v themselves_o much_o in_o spiritual_a matter_n whence_o think_v thou_o do_v it_o come_v and_o my_o servant_n but_o these_o three_o vow_n many_o secular_a person_n live_v at_o this_o day_n in_o the_o world_n far_o more_o learned_a more_o holy_a and_o more_o perfect_a than_o many_o religious_a and_o yet_o be_v they_o nothing_o so_o much_o honour_v as_o religious_a man_n be_v and_o the_o cause_n be_v because_o they_o be_v not_o tie_v to_o i_o by_o these_o holy_a band_n of_o vow_n secular_a man_n when_o they_o behold_v religious_a person_n do_v consider_v they_o as_o whole_o i_o by_o three_o vow_n consecrate_v to_o i_o &_o what_o honour_n they_o do_v they_o they_o think_v they_o give_v to_o i_o but_o this_o they_o do_v not_o to_o man_n of_o the_o world_n though_o otherwise_o eminent_a for_o their_o virtue_n and_o therefore_o to_o be_v tie_v in_o these_o band_n be_v no_o contemptible_a matter_n but_o most_o honourable_a and_o most_o noble_a even_o to_o the_o world_n since_o the_o religious_a be_v in_o so_o great_a veneration_n with_o the_o great_a man_n of_o the_o world_n 6._o these_o three_o vow_n again_o be_v of_o very_o great_a regard_n for_o that_o they_o cause_v the_o religious_a to_o triumph_v victorious_o and_o to_o go_v away_o with_o victory_n over_o their_o three_o deadly_a enemy_n for_o whil_v they_o exercise_v poverty_n against_o the_o vanity_n of_o the_o world_n chastity_n against_o the_o tentation_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o obedience_n against_o the_o fraud_n of_o the_o crafty_a devil_n they_o go_v easy_o away_o with_o victory_n but_o those_o religious_a who_o use_v not_o these_o kind_n of_o arm_n be_v oftentimes_o shameful_o to_o be_v fear_v least_o in_o conclusion_n see_v it_o be_v very_o weak_a it_o fall_v under_o the_o burden_n and_o more_o than_o this_o there_o be_v so_o many_o obligation_n and_o band_n of_o precept_n impose_v partly_o by_o thou_o partly_o by_o thy_o church_n lay_v upon_o we_o as_o it_o be_v almost_o impossible_a for_o we_o to_o satisfy_v they_o therefore_o it_o seem_v not_o good_a to_o surcharge_n ourselves_o with_o new_a band_n of_o vow_n neither_o do_v there_o appear_v so_o great_a utility_n likely_a to_o redound_v unto_o we_o by_o the_o benefit_n of_o vow_n but_o that_o there_o be_v commendation_n of_o all_o good_a work_n such_o as_o be_v the_o fall_n of_o a_o stone_n downward_o the_o other_o be_v voluntary_a or_o proceed_v of_o the_o will_n or_o of_o a_o promise_n voluntary_o
