right_a obedience_n towards_o god_n and_o man_n the_o sum_n of_o all_o be_v this_o that_o to_o believe_v and_o confess_v our_o own_o unrighteousness_n be_v the_o first_o point_n in_o evangelical_n obedience_n with_o this_o confession_n the_o
mighty_a hand_n and_o grace_n alone_o and_o let_v we_o see_v that_o he_o cast_v we_o down_o into_o reproach_n and_o contempt_n for_o no_o other_o end_n and_o purpose_n but_o to_o exalt_v we_o again_o by_o way_n unknown_a and_o to_o magnify_v his_o grace_n and_o mercy_n in_o we_o who_o can_v choose_v in_o this_o condition_n but_o be_v sick_a of_o love_n and_o to_o have_v his_o heart_n enlarge_v bride_n be_v the_o fair_a among_o woman_n when_o she_o want_v that_o faith_n which_o unit_v she_o to_o christ_n without_o who_o righteousness_n she_o can_v be_v fair_a for_o say_v they_o what_o be_v thy_o beloved_a more_o than_o another_o belove_n what_o do_v thy_o faith_n avail_v thou_o if_o it_o have_v not_o work_n can_v faith_n save_v thou_o be_v it_o not_o of_o far_o less_o worth_a than_o that_o which_o bring_v forth_o work_n so_o that_o although_o in_o word_n they_o call_v the_o church_n the_o fair_a yet_o in_o heart_n and_o opinion_n they_o own_o and_o acknowledge_v no_o other_o righteousness_n whereby_o she_o be_v purify_v from_o her_o sin_n but_o the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o law_n and_o her_o own_o work_n such_o confusion_n the_o want_n of_o understanding_n in_o this_o point_n breed_v where_o faith_n as_o it_o be_v alone_o and_o justifi_v be_v not_o distinguish_v from_o faith_n join_v to_o work_n which_o sanctifi_v and_o this_o most_o horrible_a confusion_n be_v in_o the_o church_n among_o many_o great_a doctor_n at_o this_o day_n where_o this_o point_n be_v not_o right_o understand_v for_o we_o be_v justify_v by_o faith_n say_v they_o without_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n but_o as_o soon_o as_o they_o come_v to_o treat_v of_o the_o law_n they_o will_v affirm_v most_o strong_o that_o without_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n a_o man_n can_v have_v no_o evidence_n at_o all_o of_o his_o faith_n as_o if_o a_o man_n be_v justify_v by_o faith_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n but_o by_o work_n in_o his_o conscience_n these_o with_o the_o daughter_n call_v the_o bride_n the_o fair_a among_o woman_n by_o faith_n but_o when_o they_o come_v to_o define_v what_o that_o faith_n be_v they_o mean_v no_o other_o thing_n then_o what_o be_v breed_v and_o nourish_v in_o the_o bride_n by_o her_o own_o work_n so_o that_o in_o a_o word_n she_o be_v the_o fair_a but_o by_o their_o doctrine_n she_o be_v the_o filthy_a of_o all_o creature_n despise_v and_o condemn_v of_o god_n these_o run_v into_o a_o most_o deadly_a evil_n through_o a_o false_a definition_n of_o faith_n for_o many_o time_n the_o evidence_n of_o work_n be_v lose_v how_o then_o shall_v i_o be_v assure_v of_o my_o faith_n and_o so_o of_o christ_n and_o also_o of_o everlasting_a life_n or_o else_o must_v i_o despair_v and_o die_v in_o unbelief_n such_o confusion_n destroy_v the_o very_a nature_n of_o faith_n for_o faith_n have_v a_o evidence_n in_o itself_o and_o the_o nature_n of_o it_o be_v to_o assure_v 11.1_o heb._n 11.1_o from_o the_o light_n and_o testimony_n it_o belove_a go_v show_v their_o ignorance_n in_o the_o faith_n and_o knowledge_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o this_o be_v the_o misery_n of_o all_o man_n until_o god_n open_v the_o eye_n of_o their_o understanding_n that_o when_o christ_n be_v preach_v and_o nothing_o be_v want_v but_o only_a faith_n to_o receive_v he_o then_o to_o dream_v of_o a_o christ_n that_o we_o think_v may_v be_v find_v in_o the_o law_n which_o be_v no_o better_o then_o to_o forsake_v that_o doctrine_n and_o religion_n which_o bind_v we_o to_o christ_n that_o be_v come_v and_o to_o cast_v ourselves_o under_o the_o prophecy_n of_o a_o christ_n to_o come_v which_o christ_n be_v not_o where_o to_o be_v find_v we_o must_v therefore_o believe_v that_o where_o the_o true_a gospel_n be_v preach_v christ_n be_v not_o go_v but_o come_v there_o he_o be_v present_a and_o no_o where_o else_o to_o be_v find_v which_o must_v also_o quicken_v our_o understanding_n to_o seek_v he_o in_o the_o gospel_n and_o stop_v our_o imagination_n from_o seek_v after_o he_o in_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n note_v also_o here_o that_o the_o daughter_n give_v the_o bride_n the_o title_n of_o the_o fair_a among_o woman_n and_o yet_o affirm_v that_o she_o be_v too_o seek_v of_o her_o belove_a which_o be_v a_o plain_a contradiction_n for_o if_o she_o be_v the_o fair_a than_o it_o be_v because_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n be_v impute_v to_o she_o whereby_o she_o be_v make_v fair_a but_o if_o she_o be_v yet_o too_o seek_v of_o her_o belove_a than_o she_o remain_v without_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n impute_v and_o abide_v in_o her_o filthiness_n under_o the_o law_n and_o condemnation_n therefore_o the_o daughter_n when_o they_o call_v she_o the_o fair_a among_o woman_n affirm_v nothing_o less_o then_o that_o she_o be_v make_v so_o by_o faith_n alone_o the_o principal_a cause_n thereof_o to_o be_v she_o own_o righteousness_n the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n it_o be_v agree_v between_o understand_v then_o by_o the_o little_a sister_n all_o those_o that_o be_v unlearned_a in_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n whither_o they_o be_v jew_n or_o gentile_n within_o the_o pale_a of_o the_o church_n or_o without_o all_o that_o belong_v to_o the_o election_n of_o grace_n and_o be_v yet_o uncalled_a all_o these_o be_v comprehend_v under_o the_o title_n of_o the_o little_a sister_n which_o first_o or_o last_o shall_v be_v speak_v for_o little_o she_o be_v not_o in_o number_n but_o in_o regard_n of_o knowledge_n of_o the_o way_n to_o life_n and_o salvation_n a_o sister_n she_o be_v yet_o not_o of_o whole_a blood_n she_o be_v sister_n by_o the_o father_n but_o not_o by_o the_o mother_n for_o as_o abraham_n have_v two_o son_n which_o be_v brethren_n by_o the_o father_n but_o not_o by_o the_o mother_n so_o have_v god_n almighty_a two_o sort_n of_o people_n in_o the_o world_n and_o but_o two_o which_o be_v brethren_n by_o generation_n but_o not_o by_o regenertion_n they_o be_v brother_n by_o the_o father_n as_o proceed_v all_o from_o adam_n but_o not_o brethren_n by_o the_o mother_n be_v not_o yet_o new_o bear_v in_o the_o church_n and_o therefore_o she_o say_v she_o have_v yet_o no_o breast_n that_o be_v she_o have_v not_o breast_n of_o the_o true_a mother_n be_v not_o yet_o bear_v this_o little_a sister_n she_o bewail_v and_o bemoan_v not_o so_o much_o for_o the_o time_n present_a as_o she_o do_v in_o think_v on_o the_o day_n when_o she_o shall_v be_v speak_v for_o what_o shall_v we_o do_v for_o our_o little_a sister_n in_o that_o day_n which_o bemoan_v friend_n but_o what_o be_v mean_v here_o by_o the_o day_n when_o she_o shall_v be_v speak_v for_o quest_n i_o answer_v ans_fw-fr the_o spouseman_n be_v the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n himself_o and_o the_o day_n when_o the_o little_a sister_n be_v speak_v for_o be_v when_o she_o feel_v her_o condemnation_n by_o the_o law_n they_o and_o all_o they_o that_o feel_v their_o condemnation_n by_o the_o law_n they_o and_o all_o they_o be_v speak_v for_o by_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n now_o she_o bemoan_v her_o little_a sister_n in_o this_o condition_n what_o shall_v we_o do_v for_o she_o that_o she_o may_v be_v marry_v to_o christ_n and_o in_o that_o she_o do_v so_o bewail_v she_o and_o make_v it_o her_o principal_a care_n to_o help_v she_o it_o give_v we_o to_o understand_v this_o that_o the_o principal_a care_n of_o the_o true_a church_n of_o god_n for_o her_o little_a sister_n be_v that_o as_o soon_o as_o she_o perceive_v she_o to_o be_v speak_v for_o or_o condemn_v by_o the_o law_n to_o make_v diligent_a enquiry_n how_o to_o give_v she_o in_o marriage_n to_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o the_o reason_n be_v first_o because_o to_o solemnize_v the_o marriage_n between_o christ_n and_o the_o soul_n be_v a_o work_n of_o the_o great_a difficulty_n that_o ever_o be_v therefore_o the_o church_n may_v well_o say_v what_o shall_v we_o do_v for_o our_o little_a sister_n in_o that_o day_n and_o also_o it_o be_v the_o most_o destructive_a to_o satan_n kingdom_n of_o all_o thing_n and_o therefore_o the_o marriage_n be_v most_o strong_o oppose_v by_o the_o devil_n and_o his_o angel_n but_o chief_o because_o unless_o the_o soul_n be_v marry_v to_o christ_n the_o compound_n between_o the_o conscience_n and_o the_o law_n can_v never_o be_v dissolve_v or_o untie_v but_o the_o same_o bargain_n or_o covenant_n that_o be_v make_v with_o man_n at_o first_o remain_v in_o force_n which_o bind_v all_o man_n to_o the_o penalty_n which_o be_v to_o endure_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n for_o ever_o this_o inform_v we_o that_o there_o be_v but_o a_o very_a few_o that_o pertain_v to_o the_o true_a church_n of_o god_n because_o there_o be_v so_o few_o that_o make_v it_o their_o principal_a care_n to_o comfort_v their_o little_a sister_n in_o the_o day_n of_o her_o distress_n when_o she_o be_v afflict_v with_o her_o sin_n and_o feel_v her_o condemnation_n by_o the_o law_n and_o be_v much_o break_v and_o distress_a by_o reason_n of_o great_a tribulation_n and_o by_o these_o thing_n be_v speak_v for_o by_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n that_o she_o may_v be_v match_v to_o himself_o instead_o of_o make_v it_o the_o principal_a care_n to_o give_v she_o in_o marriage_n to_o the_o son_n of_o god_n by_o faith_n alone_o they_o endeavour_v with_o great_a earnestness_n to_o present_v she_o to_o christ_n by_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n instead_o of_o dissolve_v the_o compound_n and_o make_v void_a the_o covenant_n that_o be_v make_v with_o man_n at_o first_o and_o match_v the_o soul_n to_o christ_n in_o a_o everlasting_a covenant_n that_o the_o guilt_n of_o her_o sin_n may_v be_v remove_v and_o that_o she_o may_v be_v justify_v in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n they_o endeavour_v in_o the_o first_o place_n as_o the_o only_a thing_n needful_a to_o solemnize_v the_o contract_n between_o her_o conscience_n and_o the_o law_n which_o be_v according_a to_o st._n 7._o rom._n 7._o paul_n allegory_n but_o to_o present_v she_o a_o adultress_n before_o god_n for_o which_o sin_n see_v she_o be_v separate_v thereby_o from_o the_o true_a god_n she_o be_v bind_v in_o captivity_n under_o the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n and_o be_v in_o bondage_n to_o satan_n and_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n for_o evermore_o all_o people_n therefore_o must_v learn_v from_o hence_o to_o imitate_v the_o true_a church_n of_o god_n which_o be_v to_o lay_v down_o the_o true_a ground_n of_o consolation_n for_o their_o little_a sister_n to_o rest_v on_o in_o the_o day_n of_o her_o distress_n that_o as_o soon_o as_o she_o be_v speak_v for_o and_o feel_v her_o condemnation_n by_o the_o law_n and_o that_o she_o have_v no_o breast_n of_o her_o own_o to_o nourish_v she_o in_o her_o misery_n then_o to_o become_v instrumental_a to_o marry_v she_o to_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n by_o faith_n alone_o now_o that_o the_o match_n may_v be_v make_v and_o that_o she_o may_v be_v wed_v to_o the_o son_n of_o god_n she_o must_v acknowledge_v her_o death_n by_o the_o law_n and_o ask_v forgiveness_n for_o her_o sin_n with_o a_o believe_a heart_n 7._o rom._n 7._o then_o be_v she_o free_a according_a to_o st._n paul_n from_o her_o first_o husband_n the_o law_n be_v dead_a unto_o it_o through_o faith_n in_o the_o son_n of_o god_n for_o in_o that_o she_o feel_v and_o confess_v her_o death_n by_o the_o law_n the_o law_n be_v also_o become_v dead_a have_v lose_v its_o power_n and_o dominion_n then_o may_v be_v assure_v she_o that_o the_o compound_n make_v with_o man_n at_o first_o be_v dissolve_v between_o the_o conscience_n and_o the_o law_n and_o may_v also_o solemnize_v the_o contract_n between_o christ_n and_o the_o soul_n this_o be_v the_o duty_n we_o
this_o virginity_n of_o faith_n be_v the_o conscience_n rest_v hope_v and_o rejoice_v in_o christ_n his_o saviour_n and_o the_o outward_a man_n joyful_o do_v good_a work_n unto_o his_o neighhour_n they_o forsake_v the_o true_a and_o lay_v another_o foundation_n of_o faith_n and_o holiness_n which_o be_v contrary_a to_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n here_o and_o also_o contrary_a to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o first_o commandment_n as_o have_v be_v show_v before_o verse_n iu._n draw_v i_o it_o be_v not_o here_o say_v command_v i_o or_o compel_v i_o and_o we_o will_v run_v but_z draw_v i_o this_o show_v what_o doctrine_n it_o be_v by_o which_o the_o soul_n be_v unite_v to_o christ_n it_o be_v not_o do_v by_o press_v or_o require_v the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n but_o even_o ready_a to_o sink_v into_o despair_n and_o to_o conclude_v that_o god_n have_v cast_v it_o off_o for_o ever_o now_o what_o shall_v be_v say_v to_o this_o miserable_a woman_n in_o this_o condition_n that_o may_v be_v suitable_a in_o order_n to_o her_o peace_n and_o comfort_n shall_v it_o be_v say_v go_v thy_o way_n amend_v thy_o life_n keep_v the_o commandment_n of_o god_n and_o then_o thou_o shall_v have_v full_a deliverance_n this_o be_v even_o as_o for_o a_o malefactor_n that_o be_v condemn_v by_o the_o law_n and_o nothing_o can_v help_v he_o but_o mercy_n to_o be_v send_v to_o his_o accuser_n for_o help_n and_o deliverance_n this_o be_v not_o to_o draw_v the_o soul_n to_o christ_n but_o to_o wrap_v it_o up_o in_o gild_n and_o bondage_n therefore_o when_o thy_o conscience_n be_v in_o distress_n thou_o must_v then_o hear_v no_o law_n but_o harken_v only_o to_o the_o voice_n of_o the_o bless_a son_n of_o god_n which_o draw_v thou_o to_o himself_o not_o by_o say_v they_o this_o woman_n be_v take_v in_o the_o very_a act_n must_v she_o not_o be_v stone_v for_o so_o moses_n write_v what_o say_v thou_o but_o christ_n make_v no_o answer_n to_o they_o only_o
