ground_n of_o the_o looseness_n of_o their_o conversation_n thus_o i_o have_v endeavour_v to_o help_v you_o to_o examine_v your_o peace_n whether_o it_o be_v true_a or_o no._n if_o you_o can_v upon_o these_o sign_n or_o note_n conclude_v your_o peace_n to_o be_v right_a blessed_n be_v you_o go_v your_o way_n rejoice_v and_o join_v with_o the_o angel_n in_o their_o song_n glory_n be_v to_o god_n in_o heaven_n and_o peace_n on_o earth_n glory_n be_v to_o the_o great_a god_n that_o be_v on_o high_a that_o have_v not_o only_o make_v peace_n on_o earth_n but_o make_v peace_n in_o my_o bosom_n have_v reaul_v it_o to_o be_v in_o chirst_n and_o that_o be_v the_o three_o thing_n that_o follow_v from_o it_o consequence_n 4._o the_o four_o thing_n from_o thence_o be_v this_o that_o if_o it_o be_v in_o christ_n then_o as_o it_o be_v sure_a so_o it_o be_v full_a indeed_o be_v it_o in_o any_o other_o way_n that_o god_n do_v reveal_v reconciliation_n to_o we_o then_o in_o christ_n we_o may_v must_v be_v make_v senssible_a of_o their_o natural_a condition_n and_o so_o be_v humble_v and_o that_o way_n be_v bring_v unto_o jesus_n christ_n there_o be_v a_o great_a many_o that_o catch_v hold_v upon_o the_o abuse_n of_o this_o humiliation_n so_o as_o whole_o to_o exclude_v it_o but_o exceed_v ignorant_o because_o that_o some_o will_v make_v humiliation_n as_o if_o it_o be_v a_o condition_n of_o the_o covenant_n which_o indeed_o it_o be_v not_o and_o when_o they_o hear_v we_o say_v that_o it_o be_v not_o a_o condition_n they_o present_o conclude_v that_o there_o be_v no_o need_n at_o all_o of_o it_o because_o say_v they_o humiliation_n do_v not_o at_o all_o interest_n we_o in_o jesus_n christ_n and_o because_o some_o perhaps_o will_v trust_v two_o much_o in_o their_o humiliation_n and_o rely_v upon_o it_o therefore_o other_o will_n whole_o take_v it_o away_o and_o exclude_v it_o but_o though_o humiliation_n be_v not_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o covenant_n though_o it_o be_v consider_v i_o suppose_v if_o you_o believe_v that_o god_n will_v pardon_v your_o sin_n and_o that_o he_o will_v be_v reconcile_v unto_o you_o you_o believe_v it_o be_v in_o christ_n yea_o you_o will_v say_v that_o be_v certain_a and_o therefore_o see_v christ_n have_v wrought_v our_o reconciliation_n what_o need_v we_o be_v humble_v for_o sin_n certain_o my_o brother_n in_o that_o which_o we_o at_o infinite_a advantage_n to_o do_v with_o we_o what_o he_o please_v indeed_o a_o man_n perhaps_o will_v be_v willing_a to_o be_v reconcile_v with_o his_o enemy_n because_o he_o see_v it_o will_v cost_v he_o much_o to_o make_v his_o party_n good_a against_o he_o it_o will_v put_v he_o to_o much_o trouble_n but_o there_o be_v no_o such_o cause_n between_o god_n and_o we_o for_o god_n have_v we_o under_o his_o foot_n for_o a_o man_n that_o have_v get_v his_o enemy_n under_o his_o foot_n and_o have_v he_o at_o all_o the_o advantage_n that_o can_v be_v for_o he_o to_o sue_v to_o he_o to_o be_v reconcincile_v you_o will_v say_v it_o be_v a_o rare_a thing_n and_o where_o be_v there_o such_o a_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n but_o behold_v god_n do_v this_o with_o we_o though_o he_o have_v we_o at_o infinite_a advantage_n to_o do_v with_o we_o whatsoever_o he_o please_v and_o can_v fetch_v out_o his_o glory_n from_o our_o ruin_n and_o eternal_a misery_n yet_o he_o begin_v the_o work_n of_o reconciliation_n with_o we_o oh_o admire_v the_o infinite_a grace_n of_o god_n towards_o wretched_a and_o sinful_a man_n this_o will_v be_v the_o work_n of_o the_o angel_n in_o heaven_n the_o five_o and_o sixth_o particular_n mention_v in_o the_o twelve_o chapter_n that_o follow_v in_o the_o explication_n of_o this_o point_n of_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n in_o christ_n and_o when_o we_o have_v do_v they_o we_o shall_v come_v to_o the_o application_n of_o all_o the_o six_o thiing_n and_o the_o five_o be_v some_o consequence_n that_o follow_v from_o what_o have_v be_v speak_v for_o if_o we_o be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n in_o christ_n we_o may_v from_o thence_o draw_v diverse_a cosequence_n i_o shall_v not_o now_o do_v it_o by_o way_n of_o application_n but_o only_o show_v you_o how_o such_o consequence_n as_o i_o shall_v name_n do_v natural_o flow_v from_o what_o have_v be_v say_v for_o if_o the_o reconconciliation_n between_o god_n and_o we_o be_v in_o christ_n then_o there_o be_v these_o particular_n of_o it_o and_o these_o thing_n may_v be_v say_v concern_v it_o consequence_n 1._o first_o hence_o it_o follow_v that_o the_o reconciliation_n of_o the_o child_n of_o man_n with_o god_n be_v a_o very_a great_a and_o deep_a mystery_n it_o be_v not_o a_o thing_n that_o can_v ordinary_o be_v understand_v it_o be_v not_o a_o thing_n that_o be_v wrought_v in_o a_o natural_a way_n but_o to_o reconcile_v any_o soul_n unto_o god_n be_v do_v in_o a_o way_n that_o be_v most_o deep_a and_o hide_a and_o be_v of_o itself_o a_o most_o glorious_a mystery_n and_o therefore_o when_o the_o scripture_n speak_v of_o our_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n in_o jesus_n christ_n it_o tell_v we_o that_o it_o be_v the_o hide_a wisdom_n of_o god_n 1_o cor._n 2.7_o we_o speak_v the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n in_o a_o mystery_n even_o the_o hide_a wisdom_n which_o god_n ordain_v before_o the_o world_n to_o our_o glory_n it_o speak_v of_o the_o very_a same_o thing_n that_o my_o text_n speak_v of_o viz._n that_o god_n be_v reconcile_n the_o world_n to_o hemself_n in_o jesus_n christ_n and_o this_o he_o say_v be_v the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n in_o a_o mystery_n the_o hide_a of_o god_n that_o be_v the_o first_o thing_n that_o follow_v it_o be_v a_o mystery_n consequence_n 2._o the_o second_o be_v this_o hence_o our_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n be_v very_o free_a it_o be_v a_o work_n of_o free_a grace_n it_o be_v reconcile_n himself_o in_o christ_n it_o be_v not_o reconcile_a himself_n to_o we_o for_o what_o we_o do_v ourselves_o or_o for_o what_o we_o can_v do_v no_o there_o be_v nothing_o that_o we_o do_v or_o can_v do_v nothing_o that_o angel_n do_v or_o can_v do_v for_o we_o that_o can_v reconcile_v we_o unto_o god_n but_o we_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o indeed_o there_o be_v a_o price_n pay_v upon_o condition_n if_o we_o do_v believe_v but_o we_o be_v leave_v to_o ourselves_o either_o to_o believe_v or_o not_o believe_v and_o god_n only_a propoud_n the_o mean_n what_o do_v they_o teach_v but_o thus_o much_o that_o after_o all_o the_o counsel_n of_o god_n that_o be_v wrought_v for_o our_o reconciliation_n and_o after_o those_o great_a thing_n which_o god_n have_v do_v for_o we_o in_o christ_n it_o be_v in_o the_o power_n of_o man_n to_o make_v all_o to_o be_v void_a and_o of_o none_o effect_n and_o that_o there_o shall_v not_o be_v any_o one_o man_n in_o the_o world_n reconcile_v at_o last_o for_o it_o must_v needs_o follow_v that_o if_o it_o be_v leave_v to_o man_n to_o believe_v or_o not_o to_o believe_v and_o that_o it_o be_v in_o his_o power_n whether_o he_o will_v or_o not_o than_o it_o be_v in_o his_o power_n likewise_o to_o make_v all_o the_o counsel_n of_o god_n and_o the_o great_a work_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n to_o be_v of_o none_o effect_v at_o all_o that_o after_o god_n have_v from_o all_o eternity_n plot_v the_o work_n and_o send_v his_o own_o son_n into_o the_o world_n to_o be_v make_v a_o curse_n for_o the_o sin_n of_o man_n to_o die_v &_o to_o make_v all_o that_o ado_n &_o all_o that_o work_n about_o the_o matter_n of_o reconciliation_n &_o atonement_n yet_o if_o that_o doctrine_n be_v true_a which_o be_v a_o belzebub_n error_n a_o false_a doctrine_n of_o the_o great_a magnitude_n it_o have_v be_v possible_a hat_n notwithstanding_o the_o do_v of_o all_o this_o all_o have_v even_o lose_v and_o christ_n may_v have_v dye_v in_o vain_a and_o not_o one_o soul_n in_o the_o world_n save_v i_o say_v this_o must_v needs_o follow_v upon_o that_o doctrine_n but_o now_o if_o that_o we_o hear_v that_o there_o be_v so_o much_o do_v as_o there_o be_v for_o the_o make_n up_o of_o our_o peace_n &_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n then_o on_o the_o other_o side_n this_o must_v necessary_o follow_v &_o certain_o be_v conclude_v on_o that_o there_o be_v some_o that_o be_v to_o be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n and_o that_o this_o work_n shall_v never_o be_v lose_v god_n will_v never_o plot_v so_o great_a a_o work_n and_o send_v his_o son_n into_o the_o world_n to_o do_v so_o much_o as_o he_o do_v for_o the_o sin_n of_o man_n and_o at_o last_o suffer_v it_o all_o to_o be_v lose_v but_o he_o will_v certain_o bring_v some_o unto_o salvation_n i_o confess_v when_o a_o poor_a sinner_n that_o be_v make_v sensible_a of_o what_o sin_n be_v and_o of_o the_o breach_n that_o sin_n have_v make_v between_o he_o and_o god_n when_o he_o think_v of_o the_o greatness_n of_o the_o work_n what_o it_o be_v to_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o god_n he_o tremble_v and_o shake_v in_o hmself_n fear_v it_o be_v to_o good_a news_n to_o be_v true_a and_o lest_o it_o be_v not_o certain_a and_o sure_a yea_o but_o when_o he_o come_v to_o understand_v what_o god_n have_v do_v for_o the_o accomplishment_n of_o that_o work_n how_o god_n not_o only_o have_v promise_v it_o but_o we_o can_v say_v now_o that_o it_o be_v do_v that_o the_o lord_n have_v indeed_o send_v his_o son_n into_o the_o world_n and_o that_o he_o be_v make_v man_n and_o that_o he_o have_v be_v under_o the_o curse_n of_o god_n for_o man_n sin_n and_o he_o have_v be_v crucified_a dead_a and_o bury_v and_o be_v ascend_v into_o heaven_n and_o sit_v at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o the_o father_n and_o all_o those_o glorious_a mystery_n of_o the_o gospel_n speak_v of_o in_o the_o old_a testament_n be_v now_o fulfil_v and_o accomplish_v when_o a_o sinner_n come_v to_o understand_v this_o o_o then_o he_o think_v sure_o there_o be_v a_o certainty_n a_o sureness_n in_o this_o work_n of_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n and_o as_o when_o jacob_n hear_v that_o joseph_n his_o son_n who_o he_o love_v be_v yet_o alive_a the_o text_n say_v the_o heart_n of_o the_o old_a man_n fail_v he_o do_v not_o believe_v it_o he_o think_v it_o be_v two_o good_a to_o be_v true_a but_o when_o his_o other_o sum_n come_v and_o show_v he_o the_o chariot_n that_o joseph_n have_v send_v and_o give_v he_o such_o real_a demonstration_n of_o the_o thing_n not_o only_o that_o he_o be_v a_o live_a but_o that_o he_o be_v the_o great_a man_n
his_o folly_n that_o a_o man_n shall_v think_v that_o the_o breach_n between_o god_n and_o he_o be_v a_o matter_n of_o no_o great_a moment_n no_o my_o brethren_n you_o must_v know_v that_o the_o breach_n between_o god_n and_o you_o by_o sin_n be_v a_o matter_n of_o another_o manner_n of_o consequence_n than_o can_v be_v make_v up_o by_o prayer_n or_o fear_n or_o any_o thing_n else_o that_o you_o can_v do_v all_o this_o be_v untempred_a mortar_n it_o be_v true_a when_o there_o be_v repennance_n and_o turn_v unto_o god_n it_o be_v a_o good_a sign_n that_o god_n be_v at_o work_n with_o your_o heart_n but_o that_o can_v do_v the_o deed_n it_o be_v in_o christ_n it_o be_v the_o blood_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n that_o must_v make_v satisfaction_n for_o sin_n it_o be_v that_o which_o must_v make_v the_o reconciliation_n this_o be_v that_o which_o be_v indeed_o the_o great_a doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o till_o you_o receive_v this_o into_o your_o understanding_n into_o your_o heart_n all_o other_o thing_n that_o we_o preach_v be_v to_o no_o purpose_n at_o all_o it_o will_v never_o do_v you_o good_a till_o you_o have_v embrace_v this_o you_o will_v never_o sanctify_v god_n name_n nor_o glorify_v god_n in_o your_o conversation_n nor_o have_v any_o true_a peace_n within_o your_o door_n till_o you_o come_v to_o receive_v this_o point_n into_o your_o heart_n that_o god_n be_v in_o christ_n reconcile_n the_o world_n to_o himself_o take_v heed_n therefore_o of_o any_o mistake_n in_o this_o point_n that_o be_v the_o second_o use_n chap._n 22._o use_v 3._o to_o encourage_v sinner_n to_o come_v to_o god_n for_o reconciliation_n and_o discouragement_n remove_v the_o three_o be_v a_o use_n of_o encouragement_n to_o sinner_n to_o come_v for_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n you_o may_v remember_v that_o one_o reason_n why_o god_n do_v on_o purpose_n appoint_v this_o way_n to_o reconcile_v himself_o to_o the_o world_n be_v that_o he_o may_v break_v the_o heart_n of_o sinner_n and_o that_o it_o may_v be_v a_o encouragement_n to_o sinner_n to_o come_v in_o be_v this_o god_n end_n o_o that_o then_o god_n may_v have_v this_o end_n in_o your_o soul_n this_o have_v be_v our_o endeavour_n to_o open_v what_o we_o can_v this_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n namely_o of_o god_n reconcile_n of_o himself_o in_o christ_n and_o we_o have_v not_o do_v this_o only_a from_o this_o text_n but_o from_o other_o and_o though_o divers_a other_o thing_n have_v be_v speak_v yet_o you_o can_v but_o know_v that_o the_o drift_n of_o all_o have_v be_v to_o this_o purpose_n that_o god_n may_v have_v this_o glory_n of_o gain_v our_o heart_n to_o himself_o and_o that_o it_o may_v be_v a_o encouragement_n unto_o you_o to_o come_v in_o to_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o god_n be_v there_o any_o that_o be_v apprehensive_a of_o the_o breach_n that_o sin_n have_v make_v between_o god_n and_o their_o soul_n i_o suppose_v there_o be_v many_o you_o put_v up_o paper_n of_o complaint_n of_o the_o hardness_n of_o your_o heart_n and_o that_o you_o can_v be_v sensible_a of_o sin_n as_o you_o desire_v it_o be_v a_o sign_n that_o there_o be_v some_o sensibleness_n therefore_o of_o the_o breach_n between_o god_n and_o you_o now_o the_o lord_n in_o open_v of_o this_o doctrine_n propound_v the_o way_n of_o reconciliation_n and_o he_o will_v fain_o draw_v your_o heart_n to_o come_v in_o and_o to_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o he_o what_o be_v it_o that_o hinder_v these_o two_o thing_n be_v the_o only_a hindrance_n first_o the_o great_a distance_n that_o be_v between_o god_n and_o a_o creature_n i_o be_o a_o poor_a vile_a worm_n and_o the_o lord_n be_v a_o infinite_a glorious_a dreadful_a god_n o_o but_o that_o i_o may_v take_v off_o this_o dreadfulness_n from_o you_o that_o that_o may_v not_o scare_v and_o hinder_v you_o therefore_o he_o propound_v himself_o to_o you_o in_o his_o son_n if_o god_n shall_v indeed_o speak_v from_o heaven_n by_o thunder_v and_o lightning_n and_o call_v in_o sinner_n to_o come_v in_o and_o humble_a yourselves_o and_o seek_v to_o make_v your_o peace_n with_o he_o that_o may_v scare_v you_o and_o upon_o see_v there_o be_v such_o a_o mediator_n between_o god_n and_o we_o this_o make_v up_o the_o distance_n christ_n be_v such_o a_o mediator_n as_o there_o be_v enough_o in_o he_o to_o make_v up_o all_o the_o distance_n that_o can_v be_v between_o god_n and_o man_n another_o hindrance_n or_o discouragement_n be_v sin_n either_o the_o greatness_n of_o our_o sin_n or_o the_o multitude_n of_o our_o sin_n or_o the_o long_a continuance_n in_o our_o sin_n be_v that_o which_o hinder_v we_o from_o come_v o_o say_v the_o soul_n i_o have_v be_v so_o vile_a a_o sinner_n and_o i_o have_v continue_v so_o long_o and_o i_o have_v multiply_v sin_n one_o after_o another_o and_o be_v it_o possible_a for_o such_o a_o one_o as_o i_o be_o to_o be_v reconcile_v it_o be_v true_a have_v thou_o to_o deal_v only_o with_o god_n as_o he_o be_v in_o himself_o thou_o may_v despair_v but_o know_v o_o sinner_n that_o it_o be_v god_n reconcile_n of_o himself_o in_o christ_n therefore_o though_o thou_o be_v a_o great_a sinner_n &_o a_o sinner_n of_o a_o long_a continuance_n yet_o there_o be_v a_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n in_o his_o son_n see_v that_o christ_n have_v undertake_v such_o a_o work_n as_o to_o make_v up_o a_o peace_n between_o god_n and_o sinner_n and_o to_o mediate_v for_o they_o thou_o may_v be_v encourage_v to_o come_v in_o and_o to_o lay_v hold_n upon_o this_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n if_o thou_o say_v thou_o be_v unworthy_a and_o that_o there_o be_v no_o worthiness_n in_o thou_o for_o god_n to_o regard_v the_o for_o all_o this_o be_v still_o answer_v with_o this_o it_o be_v god_n that_o be_v reconcile_a the_o world_n to_o himself_o in_o christ_n indeed_o be_v it_o so_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o but_o god_n and_o thou_o to_o deal_v together_o and_o if_o thou_o be_v to_o deal_v only_o with_o god_n himself_o thou_o may_v be_v afraid_a but_o thou_o have_v to_o deal_v with_o god_n not_o in_o himself_o win_v his_o son_n for_o so_o he_o have_v set_v forth_o himself_o the_o to_o world_n he_o be_v reconcile_v to_o the_o world_n in_o his_o son_n and_o herefore_o that_o may_v encourage_v thou_o notwithstanding_o all_o thy_o unworthines_n and_o what_o further_n have_v thou_o to_o discorage_v thou_o o_o thou_o will_v say_v god_n be_v infinite_o just_a to_o punish_v sin_n still_o this_o point_n will_v be_v sufficient_a to_o remove_v all_o discoragement_n that_o he_o be_v reconcile_a the_o world_n to_o himself_o though_o he_o be_v holy_a his_o holiness_n be_v please_v in_o christ_n though_o he_o be_v just_a his_o justice_n be_v satisfy_v in_o christ_n so_o that_o there_o be_v enough_o in_o this_o point_n to_o take_v away_o all_o objection_n to_o remove_v all_o discouragment_n that_o any_o sinner_n in_o the_o world_n have_v and_o therefore_o as_o god_n do_v propound_v this_o on_o purpose_n to_o draw_v sinner_n to_o himself_o that_o they_o may_v be_v reconcile_v unto_o he_o so_o let_v they_o know_v that_o the_o more_o grace_n here_o be_v receive_v for_o the_o take_v away_o of_o all_o objection_n and_o discoragment_n the_o more_o will_v sinner_n be_v leave_v without_o excuse_v another_o day_n if_o they_o do_v not_o come_v in_o and_o lie_v hold_v upon_o this_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n god_n will_v have_v his_o glory_n that_o way_n if_o he_o can_v have_v it_o the_o other_o god_n primary_o intend_v his_o glory_n in_o reconcile_a the_o world_n to_o himself_o and_o therefore_o take_v away_o all_o discouragment_n from_o siner_n that_o they_o may_v come_v in_o and_o venture_v their_o soul_n upon_o his_o rich_a grace_n and_o mercy_n in_o christ_n but_o if_o god_n can_v have_v his_o glory_n from_o that_o point_n then_o the_o more_o this_o be_v preach_v in_o any_o congregation_n the_o more_o will_v god_n have_v his_o glory_n
by_o the_o stop_n of_o man_n mouth_n that_o they_o shall_v not_o be_v able_a to_o say_v another_o day_n o_o the_o lord_n be_v terrible_a and_o he_o be_v a_o hard_a master_n and_o i_o dare_v not_o go_v unto_o he_o indeed_o my_o conscience_n tell_v i_o i_o have_v sin_v against_o he_o but_o i_o dare_v not_o go_v to_o he_o for_o mercy_n for_o i_o be_v afraid_a of_o he_o the_o mouth_n of_o man_n shall_v in_o his_o son_n and_o tell_v you_o that_o he_o have_v provide_v a_o mean_n in_o his_o son_n to_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o you_o and_o that_o his_o heart_n have_v be_v so_o much_o upon_o reconcile_n himself_o to_o the_o chrildren_n of_o man_n as_o that_o he_o have_v send_v his_o son_n to_o do_v this_o work_n and_o though_o it_o cost_v the_o very_a blood_n of_o his_o son_n yet_o he_o will_v do_v it_o and_o therefore_o sinner_n if_o thou_o do_v not_o come_v in_o but_o will_v go_v on_o in_o wander_v from_o god_n and_o continue_v in_o way_n of_o enmity_n against_o he_o thy_o blood_n be_v upon_o thy_o own_o head_n thou_o have_v read_v this_o bless_a doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n open_v that_o god_n be_v reconcile_a himself_n to_o the_o world_n and_o that_o he_o be_v reconcile_a himelfe_n to_o the_o world_n in_o his_o son_n and_o that_o god_n except_v that_o when_o this_o message_n be_v bring_v to_o a_o congregation_n the_o whole_a congregation_n shall_v come_v and_o fly_v unto_o he_o and_o that_o the_o world_n shall_v be_v fill_v with_o cry_n o_o that_o we_o may_v be_v reconcile_v unto_o he_o our_o lord_n expect_v this_o day_n from_o some_o of_o you_o to_o hear_v you_o reflect_v this_o upon_o yourselves_o by_o cry_v unto_o he_o for_o reconciliation_n in_o his_o son_n that_o shall_v be_v the_o issue_n of_o such_o sermon_n as_o these_o be_v god_n ever_o after_o such_o preach_a look_n to_o hear_v some_o soul_n repeat_v in_o prayer_n to_o god_n and_o tell_v he_o what_o it_o have_v hear_v in_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n and_o upon_o that_o make_v a_o prayer_n unto_o he_o according_a to_o what_o it_o have_v hear_v as_o in_o this_o manner_n the_o lord_n expect_v that_o this_o day_n some_o sinner_n or_o other_o shall_v get_v alone_o and_o be_v cry_v unto_o god_n in_o prayer_n lord_n i_o have_v hear_v not_o only_o that_o there_o be_v a_o possibility_n for_o sinner_n to_o be_v reconcile_v but_o there_o be_v such_o a_o glorious_a way_n of_o reconciliation_n that_o thou_o have_v do_v it_o in_o thy_o son_n such_o a_o honourable_a way_n and_o such_o a_o certain_a way_n of_o reconciliation_n and_o that_o thy_o heart_n be_v much_o in_o that_o way_n and_o lord_n i_o have_v hear_v that_o this_o be_v a_o way_n that_o take_v away_o all_o objection_n in_o the_o world_n all_o the_o discouragment_n that_o can_v be_v imagine_v and_o thou_o have_v reveal_v it_o to_o that_o end_n that_o be_v that_o thou_o may_v break_v the_o heart_n of_o sinner_n and_o draw_v they_o to_o come_v in_o and_o accept_v of_o that_o bless_a covenant_n that_o thou_o have_v tender_v to_o they_o in_o christ_n and_o to_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o thou_o now_o lord_n i_o desire_v to_o cast_v my_o soul_n upon_o this_o free_a grace_n of_o thou_o in_o thy_o son_n o_o that_o i_o may_v feel_v thy_o spirit_n inable_v i_o to_o such_o a_o gloriouse_a work_n as_o this_o and_o o_o that_o the_o lord_n may_v hear_v such_o thing_n as_o these_o from_o some_o of_o your_o closet_n this_o day_n it_o will_v be_v that_o which_o will_v even_o cause_v the_o heart_n of_o god_n to_o rejoice_v that_o ever_o he_o open_v the_o doctrine_n of_o reconciliation_n to_o you_o otherwise_o it_o will_v turn_v to_o the_o quite_o contrary_a end_n it_o will_v only_o serve_v to_o stop_v your_o mouth_n at_o the_o great_a day_n that_o be_v another_o use_n chap._n 23._o use_v 4._o despair_v not_o of_o god_n make_v peace_n in_o this_o nation_n yet_o once_o more_o if_o there_o be_v such_o a_o way_n of_o reconciliation_n between_o god_n and_o we_o if_o god_n have_v wrought_v it_o so_o that_o it_o be_v in_o christ_n true_o from_o hence_o we_o have_v no_o cause_n to_o despair_v in_o god_n power_n and_o wisdom_n and_o goodness_n to_o make_v peace_n in_o this_o nation_n god_n have_v do_v the_o great_a work_n you_o see_v that_o god_n be_v a_o god_n of_o peace_n and_o love_n peace_n and_o to_o the_o end_n that_o he_o may_v be_v at_o peace_n with_o the_o wretched_a child_n of_o man_n he_o have_v wrought_v so_o wonderful_o as_o to_o send_v his_o own_o son_n into_o the_o world_n and_o provide_v such_o a_o way_n that_o he_o may_v be_v sure_a that_o peace_n may_v be_v make_v and_o by_o that_o way_n he_o have_v do_v it_o he_o have_v make_v peace_n between_o mercy_n and_o justice_n there_o be_v peace_n make_v between_o a_o infinite_a provoke_v god_n and_o wretched_a sinful_a vild_a creature_n i_o tell_v you_o before_o that_o this_o be_v a_o mighty_a difficult_a work_n yea_o the_o most_o difficult_a that_o ever_o be_v or_o can_v be_v in_o the_o world_n if_o god_n have_v therefore_o wrought_v such_o a_o work_n so_o difficult_a in_o a_o way_n so_o gloriouse_a then_o from_o hence_o learn_v not_o to_o despair_v but_o that_o god_n may_v work_v even_o peace_n for_o we_o in_o this_o nation_n and_o a_o honourable_a peace_n and_o a_o good_a peace_n too_o we_o be_v not_o only_o hereby_o encourage_v to_o cry_v unto_o god_n for_o peace_n between_o he_o and_o our_o soul_n but_o we_o be_v by_o this_o encourage_v to_o cry_v unto_o he_o for_o peace_n in_o the_o nation_n and_o that_o he_o will_v put_v a_o end_n to_o these_o woeful_a time_n of_o destruction_n and_o misery_n and_o war_n which_o many_o of_o our_o brethren_n have_v suffer_v and_o bleed_v under_o and_o indeed_o those_o that_o do_v understand_v or_o have_v ever_o feel_v the_o work_n of_o god_n in_o work_v peace_n between_o his_o majesty_n and_o their_o soul_n they_o be_v those_o that_o have_v such_o interest_n in_o god_n as_o if_o any_o people_n shall_v prevail_v with_o he_o for_o peace_n in_o the_o land_n it_o must_v be_v these_o they_o will_v prove_v to_o be_v our_o peace_n maker_n in_o the_o conclusion_n howsoever_o people_n at_o present_a cry_n out_o of_o they_o as_o if_o they_o be_v the_o mean_n and_o instrument_n of_o make_v the_o grate_a debate_n and_o as_o if_o they_o be_v the_o enemy_n of_o peace_n no_o my_o brethren_n they_o that_o have_v experience_n of_o this_o great_a work_n of_o god_n of_o make_v peace_n between_o himself_o and_o their_o soul_n they_o be_v they_o that_o he_o at_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n continual_o cry_v unto_o he_o that_o be_v the_o prince_n of_o of_o peace_n to_o make_v peace_n in_o the_o land_n we_o desire_v peace_n but_o you_o will_v say_v how_o can_v it_o be_v do_v that_o way_n why_o shall_v we_o say_v how_o when_o god_n himself_o have_v make_v peace_n between_o heaven_n and_o earth_n we_o see_v thing_n so_o intricate_a that_o we_o know_v not_o how_o it_o shall_v be_v do_v and_o we_o wonder_v it_o shall_v ever_o be_v bring_v about_o that_o the_o spirit_n of_o man_n be_v so_o
seek_v reconciliation_n to_o eye_n christ_n and_o carry_v he_o in_o our_o arm_n if_o there_o be_v any_o of_o you_o that_o now_o begin_v to_o have_v your_o conscience_n stir_v and_o to_o be_v make_v sensible_a of_o the_o breach_n that_o be_v between_o god_n and_o you_o do_v not_o rest_n in_o seek_v peace_n in_o a_o natural_a way_n but_o eye_n jesus_n christ_n and_o when_o you_o look_v up_o unto_o god_n for_o peace_n look_v unto_o he_o in_o christ_n look_v upon_o christ_n as_o the_o second_o person_n in_o trinity_n take_v our_o nature_n upon_o he_o look_v upon_o christ_n as_o the_o head_n of_o god_n purpose_n be_v from_o all_o eternity_n to_o do_v it_o and_o three_o there_o be_v a_o transaction_n between_o god_n the_o father_n and_o god_n the_o son_n from_o all_o eternity_n for_o to_o do_v saint_n that_o they_o be_v now_o to_o look_v upon_o all_o that_o be_v do_v unto_o they_o and_o upon_o all_o the_o work_n of_o god_n grace_n to_o they_o not_o as_o a_o new_a thing_n not_o as_o a_o accidental_a thing_n that_o come_v as_o if_o we_o shall_v have_v peace_n here_o in_o the_o commonwealth_n it_o will_v be_v pretiouse_a to_o we_o if_o it_o shall_v be_v upon_o these_o term_n and_o we_o will_v all_o rejoice_v much_o in_o what_o shall_v befall_v we_o in_o a_o way_n of_o a_o safe_a peace_n but_o our_o peace_n with_o god_n be_v not_o wrought_v with_o god_n so_o as_o if_o we_o be_v perish_v and_o then_o god_n providence_n come_v and_o turn_v all_o about_o again_o no_o our_o peace_n with_o god_n be_v a_o thing_n plot_v from_o all_o eternity_n god_n do_v as_o it_o be_v contrive_v it_o in_o heaven_n before_o any_o world_n be_v make_v god_n think_v of_o this_o work_n of_o reconcil_a himself_o unto_o the_o world_n yea_o unto_o thou_o in_o particular_a if_o thou_o be_v a_o believer_n a_o break_a heart_a sinner_n before_o even_o the_o havens_n or_o the_o earth_n be_v make_v god_n have_v actual_a thought_n of_o thou_o still_o and_o there_o be_v a_o covenant_n between_o god_n the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n for_o thy_o soul_n in_o particular_a and_o though_o god_n foresee_v thou_o will_v sin_v against_o he_o and_o turn_v enemy_n to_o he_o yet_o there_o be_v a_o consultation_n between_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n from_o all_o eternity_n to_o bring_v thy_o soul_n home_o unto_o god_n and_o to_o pardon_v thy_o sin_n so_o that_o thou_o be_v to_o look_v upon_o all_o the_o work_n of_o god_n grace_n towards_o thou_o here_o in_o bring_v thou_o to_o his_o son_n and_o upon_o all_o the_o comfort_n thou_o have_v from_o his_o son_n as_o the_o fruit_n of_o god_n eternal_a plot_n of_o god_n eternal_a council_n with_o his_o son_n and_o that_o although_o it_o do_v but_o now_o break_v forth_o yet_o it_o be_v that_o which_o be_v in_o the_o bosom_n of_o the_o upon_o the_o offer_n of_o the_o freeness_n of_o my_o grace_n indeed_o there_o can_v be_v no_o other_o encouragement_n but_o this_o for_o the_o first_o work_n whosoever_o do_v believe_v at_o any_o time_n he_o be_v not_o to_o believe_v because_o any_o qualification_n of_o he_o give_v he_o a_o right_a to_o it_o but_o upon_o these_o term_n that_o god_n have_v reconcile_v the_o world_n to_o himself_o and_o that_o he_o have_v offer_v the_o promise_n of_o grace_n general_o and_o that_o he_o have_v say_v whosoever_o will_v come_v may_v come_v in_o and_o believe_v whosoever_o be_v a_o know_v but_o upon_o such_o a_o work_n as_o this_o god_n spirit_n may_v come_v even_o at_o that_o instant_n to_o enable_v you_o to_o do_v it_o this_o be_v that_o which_o god_n require_v and_o if_o god_n persuade_v thy_o heart_n to_o this_o it_o be_v a_o good_a sign_n that_o mercy_n be_v intend_v to_o thou_o when_o at_o every_o time_n god_n shall_v make_v a_o offer_n and_o tender_a of_o the_o unto_o thou_o while_o thou_o be_v a_o man_n of_o this_o world_n lose_v it_o not_o and_o know_v it_o be_v a_o great_a mercy_n of_o god_n to_o thou_o to_o continue_v thou_o in_o this_o world_n because_o here_o thou_o be_v under_o the_o power_n of_o grace_n thou_o be_v under_o that_o genneral_a grace_n of_o god_n that_o be_v indefinite_o tender_v unto_o every_o man_n under_o that_o grace_n which_o have_v fall_v upon_o as_o great_a sinner_n as_o thou_o be_v and_o therefore_o so_o long_o as_o there_o be_v life_n there_o be_v hope_n this_o point_n i_o have_v divers_a time_n make_v use_v of_o to_o show_v that_o this_o time_n of_o our_o life_n be_v the_o time_n of_o grace_n and_o salvation_n and_o it_o follow_v natural_o and_o full_o from_o the_o expression_n in_o the_o text_n therefore_o i_o gospel_n not_o by_o the_o one_o but_o by_o the_o other_o though_o there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o use_n of_o preach_v the_o law_n yet_o that_o which_o do_v convey_v the_o spirit_n and_o grace_n into_o the_o conscience_n it_o be_v the_o open_v the_o riches_n of_o the_o treasure_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o the_o gospel_n therefore_o this_o objection_n have_v no_o strength_n in_o it_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o heaven_n in_o any_o work_n that_o a_o man_n do_v as_o in_o a_o clock_n there_o be_v one_o wheel_n that_o run_v one_o way_n so_o far_o and_o another_o meet_v with_o it_o they_o seem_v to_o run_v quite_o contrary_a way_n and_o yet_o take_v they_o altogether_o and_o they_o do_v all_o run_v to_o the_o end_n that_o the_o work_n be_v intend_v for_o and_o yet_o seem_v to_o of_o his_o justice_n another_o way_n and_o they_o seem_v to_o go_v quite_o contrary_a one_o to_o the_o other_o but_o the_o truth_n be_v they_o work_v all_o to_o the_o end_n that_o the_o workman_n make_v it_o for_o here_o be_v the_o grace_n and_o mercy_n of_o god_n thus_o manifest_v in_o entreat_v and_o beseech_v sinner_n to_o be_v reconcile_v it_o go_v thus_o far_o and_o then_o when_o it_o heart_n be_v not_o right_a perhaps_o one_o to_o the_o other_o but_o now_o in_o this_o case_n between_o god_n and_o thy_o poor_a soul_n be_v confident_a that_o on_o god_n side_n it_o be_v most_o real_a and_o do_v thou_o but_o make_v it_o out_o that_o thy_o heart_n be_v real_a in_o desire_v after_o peace_n with_o god_n and_o full_o understand_v what_o thou_o do_v when_o thou_o do_v desire_v peace_n
