truth_n satan_n instrument_n against_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o anointed_n so_o that_o 1_o than_o when_o the_o ruler_n take_v counsel_n together_o ruler_n man_n that_o be_v neither_o of_o the_o number_n of_o the_o heathen_a nor_o of_o the_o king_n of_o the_o earth_n but_o a_o more_o refine_a sort_n of_o man_n such_o as_o will_v be_v account_v judge_n as_o at_o the_o first_o and_o counselor_n as_o at_o the_o beginning_n ruler_n not_o of_o the_o earth_n no_o that_o be_v not_o express_v only_o there_o be_v king_n of_o the_o earth_n but_o these_o counsellor_n be_v ruler_n of_o what_o sure_o it_o be_v but_o genuine_a to_o say_v they_o will_v be_v account_v ruler_n of_o the_o lord_n people_n but_o christ_n when_o he_o come_v to_o deal_v with_o they_o in_o the_o ten_o verse_n say_v they_o be_v of_o the_o earth_n as_o well_o as_o the_o king_n judge_n of_o the_o earth_n he_o discover_v their_o hide_a work_n of_o darkness_n and_o make_v they_o appear_v in_o their_o true_a colour_n thus_o much_o i_o conceive_v be_v signify_v to_o we_o by_o this_o that_o though_o when_o christ_n come_v to_o speak_v to_o they_o he_o call_v they_o as_o indeed_o they_o be_v judges_z of_o the_o earth_n yet_o here_o they_o be_v term_v only_a ruler_n and_o that_o in_o opposition_n to_o the_o king_n of_o the_o earth_n that_o be_v such_o as_o they_o term_v themselves_o and_o will_v be_v esteem_v ruler_n counsellor_n no_o heathenish_a emperor_n nor_o popish_a king_n but_o refine_a ruler_n here_o be_v satan_n transform_v into_o a_o angel_n of_o light_n the_o heathen_n can_v prevail_v and_o the_o king_n of_o the_o earth_n do_v not_o prosper_v thus_o satan_n be_v put_v to_o his_o last_o shift_n turn_v saint_n in_o show_n set_v up_o his_o ruler_n that_o have_v neither_o the_o violent_a rage_n of_o the_o heathen_a nor_o the_o open_a prophanesse_n of_o the_o king_n but_o the_o soft_a hand_n of_o profession_n to_o become_v nurse_v father_n and_o nurse_v mother_n to_o the_o church_n of_o christ_n as_o appear_v by_o what_o follow_v even_o while_o they_o be_v take_v counsel_n together_o against_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o anointed_n for_o they_o be_v ruler_n that_o have_v cut_v off_o some_o of_o the_o king_n of_o the_o earth_n rule_n in_o their_o stead_n which_o be_v necessary_o imply_v in_o the_o text_n for_o we_o know_v that_o the_o king_n of_o the_o earth_n those_o that_o commit_v fornication_n with_o the_o beast_n and_o give_v their_o power_n to_o she_o rev._n 17.2.17_o rule_v over_o the_o whole_a world_n that_o part_n which_o be_v call_v the_o christian_a world_n in_o which_o this_v contest_v be_v between_o christ_n and_o his_o enemy_n yet_o at_o last_o step_v up_o some_o ruler_n and_o they_o get_v dominion_n among_o the_o king_n for_o it_o be_v clear_a by_o the_o order_n have_v all_o the_o christian_a world_n under_o their_o dominion_n it_o be_v no_o way_n reasonable_a to_o conceive_v that_o those_o who_o love_v their_o crown_n so_o well_o will_v willing_o give_v their_o glory_n to_o other_o and_o why_o may_v we_o not_o say_v that_o these_o ruler_n get_v their_o dominion_n by_o fight_v the_o lamb_n
against_o he_o and_o shall_v you_o prosper_v in_o your_o apostasy_n and_o rebellion_n against_o he_o i_o will_v not_o bear_v with_o their_o superstition_n and_o shall_v i_o now_o connive_v at_o your_o hypocrisy_n shall_v i_o suffer_v and_o permit_v you_o to_o keep_v the_o kingdom_n from_o he_o and_o to_o interrupt_v the_o performance_n of_o my_o promise_n no_o know_v i_o speak_v it_o to_o you_o in_o my_o wrath_n yet_o have_v i_o set_v my_o king_n upon_o my_o holy_a hill_n of_o zion_n 3_o because_o it_o will_v destroy_v all_o their_o idol_n deprive_v they_o of_o all_o their_o dear_a enjoyment_n their_o power_n with_o their_o pomp_n and_o glory_n to_o which_o their_o heart_n cleave_v so_o close_o this_o sword_n of_o christ_n mouth_n will_v smite_v they_o all_o their_o idol_n of_o gold_n and_o their_o idol_n of_o silver_n and_o their_o idol_n of_o honour_n etc._n etc._n all_o these_o will_v it_o consume_v and_o their_o kingdom_n must_v become_v the_o kg_a dome_n of_o the_o lord_n christ_n and_o all_o their_o dominion_n and_o the_o greatness_n the_o glory_n of_o it_o shall_v be_v give_v to_o the_o saint_n of_o the_o most_o high_a those_o who_o they_o have_v trample_v upon_o and_o to_o who_o they_o have_v be_v so_o barbarous_o ungrateful_a these_o thing_n trouble_v and_o vex_v these_o ruler_n that_o they_o gnaw_v their_o tongue_n for_o anguish_n and_o pain_n and_o sure_o this_o be_v a_o day_n of_o great_a wrath_n indeed_o as_o when_o two_o king_n and_o both_o strong_a be_v strive_v for_o a_o crown_n it_o be_v likely_a to_o be_v a_o day_n of_o great_a wrath_n a_o bloody_a day_n so_o this_o day_n for_o behold_v what_o a_o feast_n will_v god_n make_v on_o this_o day_n for_o the_o fowl_n that_o fly_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o heaven_n the_o flesh_n of_o king_n the_o flesh_n of_o captain_n and_o mighty_a man_n the_o flesh_n of_o horse_n and_o of_o they_o that_o sit_v on_o they_o the_o flesh_n of_o all_o man_n both_o free_a and_o bond_n both_o small_a and_o great_a we_o may_v conclude_v from_o these_o thing_n 1_o it_o be_v not_o unsuitable_a to_o a_o gospel_n spirit_n to_o denounce_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n against_o ruler_n for_o their_o apostasy_n and_o abominable_a hypocrisy_n yea_o and_o to_o deal_v particular_o with_o they_o lay_v the_o finger_n on_o the_o sore_a point_v out_o the_o abomination_n by_o name_n denounce_v the_o vengeance_n of_o god_n upon_o they_o for_o we_o see_v here_o how_o particular_o god_n characterise_v these_o ruler_n lay_v open_a all_o their_o abomination_n speak_v to_o they_o in_o wrath_n and_o sure_o this_o also_o as_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o scripture_n be_v write_v for_o our_o instruction_n 2_o it_o be_v no_o wonder_n that_o the_o ruler_n of_o the_o world_n be_v trouble_v at_o and_o move_v against_o the_o gospel_n of_o the_o kingdom_n for_o here_o god_n say_v he_o will_v speak_v it_o to_o they_o in_o wrath_n and_o vex_v they_o with_o it_o in_o his_o sore_a displeasure_n 3_o it_o be_v not_o so_o much_o the_o infirmity_n of_o the_o saint_n accompany_v the_o delivery_n of_o their_o message_n to_o the_o world_n or_o any_o other_o circumstance_n about_o it_o that_o trouble_v and_o vex_v the_o ruler_n let_v they_o pretend_v what_o they_o will_v as_o the_o doctrine_n itself_o when_o it_o be_v right_o assert_v and_o thorough_o open_v as_o that_o which_o be_v at_o hand_n and_o aught_o to_o be_v submit_v to_o without_o delay_n o_o how_o do_v it_o trouble_n and_o vex_v they_o to_o hear_v of_o the_o come_n of_o king_n jesus_n to_o depose_v they_o of_o their_o usurpation_n and_o take_v the_o kingdom_n to_o himself_o if_o it_o trouble_v herod_n and_o all_o jerusalem_n with_o he_o when_o they_o hear_v of_o this_o king_n first_o come_v meek_a and_o lowly_a how_o then_o think_v we_o will_v it_o not_o much_o more_o trouble_v the_o king_n and_o ruler_n of_o the_o earth_n to_o hear_v of_o his_o second_o come_v in_o power_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o zion_n it_o can_v be_v otherwise_o for_o god_n say_v he_o will_v trouble_v and_o vex_v they_o with_o a_o i_o have_v set_v my_o king_n upon_o my_o holy_a hill_n of_o zion_n 4_o when_o the_o ruler_n come_v to_o this_o height_n of_o ungrateful_a wickedness_n to_o take_v counsel_n against_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o anointed_n to_o break_v their_o band_n asunder_o and_o cast_v away_o their_o cord_n from_o they_o than_o be_v the_o time_n of_o gdos_n wrath_n come_v to_o that_o generation_n he_o will_v speak_v to_o they_o in_o wrath_n and_o vex_v they_o in_o his_o sore_a displeasure_n 5_o that_o before_o such_o time_n as_o god_n enter_v into_o judgement_n with_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o king_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o that_o whore_n mystery_n babylon_n the_o great_a who_o they_o uphold_v god_n judge_n these_o ruler_n he_o speak_v to_o they_o in_o wrath_n to_o they_o in_o particular_a to_o they_o that_o take_v counsel_n against_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o anointed_n for_o the_o lord_n shall_v rise_v up_o as_o in_o mount_n perazim_n he_o shall_v be_v wroth_a as_o in_o the_o valley_n of_o gibeon_n that_o he_o may_v do_v his_o work_n his_o strange_a work_n and_o bring_v to_o pass_v his_o act_n his_o strange_a act_n awake_v awake_a put_v on_o strength_n o_o arm_n of_o the_o lord_n awake_v as_o in_o the_o ancient_a day_n in_o the_o generation_n of_o old_a 2_o here_o be_v the_o work_n of_o god_n love_n and_o faithfulness_n to_o his_o son_n in_o these_o word_n yet_o have_v i_o set_v my_o king_n upon_o zion_n the_o hill_n of_o my_o holiness_n as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o margin_n of_o the_o bible_n yet_o have_v i_o etc._n etc._n as_o if_o god_n have_v say_v notwithstanding_o your_o take_a counsel_n against_o he_o and_o his_o anointed_n and_o that_o you_o have_v so_o far_o proceed_v manage_v your_o business_n so_o wise_o to_o the_o very_a height_n and_o depth_n of_o wisdom_n as_o to_o make_v yourselves_o formidable_a in_o your_o own_o eye_n think_v you_o have_v get_v strength_n and_o power_n sufficient_a to_o put_v your_o counsel_n in_o practice_n cry_v let_v we_o break_v their_o band_n asunder_o and_o cast_v away_o their_o cord_n from_o we_o yet_o have_v i_o set_v my_o king_n upon_o zion_n the_o hill_n of_o my_o holiness_n though_o you_o take_v counsel_n against_o he_o to_o make_v the_o way_n to_o his_o kingdom_n as_o thorny_a difficult_a and_o perilous_a as_o you_o can_v though_o you_o be_v so_o ungrateful_a and_o unfaithful_a to_o forsake_v and_o take_v counsel_n against_o he_o and_o he_o yet_o will_v not_o i_o be_v so_o to_o my_o belove_a son_n yet_o have_v i_o it_o and_o embrace_v it_o giving_z obedience_n to_o it_o we_o shall_v perish_v from_o the_o way_n of_o blessedness_n again_o let_v we_o consider_v the_o sign_n of_o this_o day_n of_o christ_n come_v to_o his_o zion_n that_o other_o scripture_n afford_v and_o we_o shall_v find_v they_o to_o be_v such_o as_o will_v signify_v no_o such_o thing_n to_o any_o but_o to_o those_o who_o have_v the_o most_o precious_a faith_n of_o this_o gospel_n wait_v for_o the_o consolation_n of_o israel_n the_o holy_a ghost_n will_v be_v upon_o they_o and_o let_v they_o see_v the_o bless_a fruit_n of_o their_o expectation_n there_o shall_v come_v in_o the_o last_o day_n scoffer_n walk_v after_o their_o own_o lust_n and_o say_v where_o be_v the_o promise_n of_o his_o come_n for_o since_o the_o father_n fall_v asleep_a all_o thing_n continue_v as_o they_o be_v from_o the_o begin_n of_o the_o creation_n 2_o pet._n 3.3_o in_o heart_n say_v our_o lord_n delay_v his_o come_n smite_v fellow_n servant_n and_o perish_v upon_o they_o together_o with_o the_o world_n and_o my_o reason_n why_o i_o conceive_v the_o present_a ruler_n of_o this_o world_n be_v those_o enemy_n of_o christ_n god_n will_v speak_v to_o in_o wrath_n and_o vex_v in_o his_o sore_a displeasure_n be_v 1_o because_o i_o find_v the_o scripture_n express_o say_v that_o those_o who_o shall_v be_v the_o ruler_n of_o the_o world_n at_o this_o day_n of_o god_n set_v his_o son_n upon_o zion_n will_v oppose_v and_o take_v counsel_n together_o against_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o anointed_n therefore_o have_v he_o say_v he_o will_v speak_v to_o they_o in_o his_o wrath_n and_o vex_v they_o in_o his_o sore_a displeasure_n with_o set_v his_o king_n upon_o zion_n the_o hill_n of_o his_o holiness_n and_o see_v it_o be_v a_o truth_n that_o we_o be_v come_v to_o the_o dawn_n of_o the_o day_n wherein_o the_o father_n will_v set_v his_o son_n on_o his_o zion_n it_o must_v follow_v that_o these_o be_v the_o ruler_n that_o will_v be_v the_o subject_n of_o the_o direful_a displeasure_n and_o wrath_n of_o the_o great_a god._n 2_o because_o i_o perceive_v the_o ruler_n be_v already_o take_v counsel_n together_o to_o make_v their_o hand_n strong_a against_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o anointed_n and_o to_o break_v their_o band_n asunder_o and_o cast_v away_o their_o cord_n from_o they_o and_o the_o faithful_a almighty_a god_n have_v say_v he_o will_v then_o speak_v to_o they_o in_o his_o wrath_n and_o vex_v they_o in_o his_o sore_a displeasure_n and_o if_o they_o harken_v not_o to_o the_o gospel_n of_o the_o kingdom_n preach_v to_o they_o they_o shall_v without_o remedy_n perish_v from_o the_o way_n of_o blessedness_n speedy_a and_o swift_a destruction_n will_v be_v their_o portion_n to_o prove_v this_o to_o the_o vulgar_a understanding_n be_v very_o hard_a yet_o if_o we_o will_v but_o consider_v these_o few_o thing_n we_o may_v learn_v somewhat_o of_o the_o business_n 1_o that_o the_o characteristical_a work_n of_o these_o ruler_n be_v not_o their_o act_n but_o take_v council_n against_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o anointed_n for_o as_o it_o
