covenant_n as_o faulty_a and_o unable_a to_o give_v life_n unto_o they_o as_o that_o abolish_v and_o if_o not_o then_o forasmuch_o as_o by_o the_o late_a work_n be_v require_v to_o be_v perform_v by_o man_n to_o their_o salvation_n as_o well_o as_o by_o the_o former_a the_o excellency_n of_o the_o late_a above_o the_o former_a must_v needs_o be_v acknowledge_v to_o consist_v only_o in_o this_o viz._n that_o the_o work_n require_v thereby_o and_o the_o condition_n upon_o which_o life_n be_v promise_v therein_o be_v performable_a by_o man_n in_o their_o fall_a estate_n whereas_o those_o require_v thereunto_o by_o the_o other_o be_v not_o in_o which_o respect_n it_o be_v that_o in_o the_o 6_o verse_n the_o apostle_n declare_v that_o the_o late_a be_v establish_v upon_o better_a promise_n than_o the_o former_a second_o that_o those_o that_o endeavour_v to_o reduce_v man_n from_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o the_o observation_n of_o the_o law_n be_v by_o the_o which_o they_o lay_v upon_o other_o and_o as_o foolish_a shall_v the_o galathian_o have_v be_v in_o harken_v to_o they_o preach_v the_o gospel_n as_o they_o be_v in_o harken_v to_o the_o false_a apostle_n preach_v the_o law_n for_o of_o two_o yoke_n alike_o intolerable_a wisdom_n direct_v a_o man_n to_o choose_v the_o one_o as_o soon_o as_o the_o other_o and_o not_o to_o prefer_v the_o one_o before_o the_o other_o and_o therefore_o unless_o that_o we_o will_v suppose_v the_o apostle_n to_o be_v guilty_a of_o tempt_a god_n in_o the_o same_o nature_n wherein_o they_o accuse_v and_o censure_v other_o and_o thereby_o to_o make_v themselves_o inexcusable_a both_o before_o god_n and_o man_n rom._n 2.1_o we_o must_v needs_o conclude_v that_o the_o yoke_n or_o precept_n of_o the_o the_o 2_o cor._n 3.7_o 9_o speak_v of_o the_o law_n call_v it_o the_o ministration_n of_o death_n and_o of_o condemnation_n and_o contrariwise_o speak_v of_o the_o gospel_n or_o new_a testament_n he_o call_v it_o the_o ministration_n of_o righteousness_n and_o in_o verse_n the_o 6_o say_v that_o the_o first_o kill_v but_o the_o late_a give_v life_n now_o forasmuch_o as_o the_o law_n in_o its_o own_o nature_n be_v neither_o the_o ministration_n of_o death_n nor_o condemnation_n be_v holy_a just_a and_o good_a promise_a life_n and_o will_v assure_o bring_v we_o to_o the_o possession_n thereof_o can_v we_o but_o observe_v what_o it_o require_v or_o attain_v unto_o that_o original_a innocency_n and_o purity_n in_o which_o we_o be_v create_v therefore_o it_o be_v so_o call_v only_o in_o respect_n that_o in_o the_o necessary_a consequence_n thereof_o by_o reason_n of_o our_o inability_n to_o fulfil_v the_o same_o it_o become_v such_o unto_o we_o and_o therefore_o if_o that_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n be_v no_o more_o performable_a than_o those_o of_o the_o law_n the_o gospel_n can_v not_o be_v call_v the_o ministration_n of_o righteousness_n and_o life_n any_o more_o than_o the_o law_n because_o it_o be_v the_o savour_n of_o death_n unto_o death_n unto_o all_o those_o that_o disobey_v it_o as_o well_o as_o the_o law_n john_n 3.19_o hebr._n 10.28_o 29._o and_o confer_v neither_o righteousness_n nor_o life_n unto_o any_o that_o observe_v it_o not_o any_o more_o than_o the_o law_n therefore_o whereas_o it_o be_v call_v the_o ministration_n of_o righteousness_n and_o life_n in_o opposition_n to_o the_o law_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v understand_v in_o this_o respect_n that_o righteousness_n life_n and_o salvation_n impossible_a by_o the_o 32_o verse_n of_o the_o 9_o chapter_n after_o a_o large_a discourse_n concern_v the_o same_o conclude_v righteousness_n not_o to_o be_v attainable_a by_o the_o law_n in_o the_o 8_o verse_n of_o the_o 10._o chapter_n he_o declare_v that_o the_o righteousness_n that_o be_v by_o the_o gospel_n be_v nigh_o unto_o we_o even_o in_o our_o mouth_n and_o in_o our_o heart_n than_o which_o nothing_o can_v
