the_o other_o concern_v the_o substance_n of_o the_o promise_n itself_o what_o be_v mean_v by_o our_o saviour_n be_v with_o they_o in_o the_o first_o we_o have_v to_o deal_v with_o the_o enthusiast_n in_o the_o latter_a with_o the_o papist_n i_o shall_v examine_v the_o pretence_n of_o both_o these_o as_o brief_o and_o plain_o as_o i_o can_v first_o concern_v the_o circumstance_n of_o time_n that_o age_n and_o that_o this_o promise_n be_v to_o be_v limit_v to_o the_o apostle_n person_n and_o that_o the_o sense_n of_o it_o be_v that_o christ_n will_v be_v with_o the_o apostle_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d all_o their_o day_n so_o long_o as_o they_o shall_v live_v and_o that_o will_v be_v 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d to_o the_o end_n of_o that_o age_n thus_o they_o translate_v it_o and_o of_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n as_o will_v appear_v to_o any_o one_o that_o consider_v our_o saviour_n answer_n to_o this_o question_n the_o latter_a part_n whereof_o can_v without_o too_o much_o violence_n be_v accommodate_v to_o any_o thing_n but_o the_o final_a dissolution_n of_o the_o world_n now_o if_o this_o phrase_n be_v every_o where_o else_o in_o scripture_n use_v in_o this_o sense_n there_o be_v no_o reason_n why_o it_o shall_v be_v take_v otherwise_o in_o the_o text_n only_o to_o serve_v the_o purpose_n of_o a_o unreasonable_a opinion_n i_o know_v there_o be_v phrase_n the_o singular_a number_n but_o when_o it_o speak_v of_o the_o time_n before_o the_o gospel_n it_o always_o express_v they_o in_o the_o plural_a the_o reason_n of_o which_o be_v that_o famous_a tradition_n among_o the_o jew_n of_o the_o house_n of_o elias_n which_o distribute_v the_o whole_a duration_n of_o the_o world_n into_o three_o age_n the_o age_n before_o the_o law_n the_o age_n under_o the_o law_n and_o the_o age_n of_o the_o messiah_n and_o this_o last_o age_n they_o look_v on_o with_o great_a difference_n from_o the_o rest_n as_o the_o famous_a and_o glorious_a age_n discourse_n to_o make_v it_o sufficient_o clear_a but_o before_o i_o undertake_v that_o i_o shall_v premise_v a_o caution_n or_o two_o to_o prevent_v all_o mistake_n in_o this_o matter_n first_o yea_o and_o likely_a enough_o that_o a_o man_n who_o be_v not_o convince_v by_o calm_a evidence_n and_o persuasion_n may_v yet_o be_v very_o much_o wrought_v upon_o by_o a_o strange_a and_o amaze_a accident_n and_o if_o one_o who_o he_o have_v know_v when_o he_o be_v alive_a shall_v appear_v to_o he_o from_o the_o dead_a and_o declare_v the_o certainty_n of_o a_o future_a state_n and_o the_o condition_n of_o thing_n in_o another_o world_n there_o be_v little_a doubt_n to_o be_v make_v but_o that_o this_o will_v more_o rouse_v and_o awaken_v he_o to_o consider_v his_o danger_n than_o all_o they_o be_v not_o so_o much_o take_v notice_n of_o because_o they_o be_v so_o common_a yet_o be_v they_o daily_a miracle_n and_o we_o can_v hardly_o imagine_v great_a and_o we_o shall_v be_v strange_o when_o we_o may_v receive_v so_o abundant_a satisfaction_n in_o a_o ordinary_a way_n this_o be_v admit_v i_o shall_v proceed_v in_o the_o second_o place_n to_o show_v that_o it_o be_v upon_o the_o whole_a matter_n and_o all_o circumstance_n consider_v very_o improbable_a that_o those_o who_o reject_v this_o public_a revelation_n from_o god_n shall_v be_v effectual_o convince_v though_o one_o
