our_o father_n who_o have_v love_v we_o and_o have_v give_v we_o everlasting_a consolation_n and_o good_a hope_n through_o grace_n 17._o comfort_v your_o heart_n and_o establish_v you_o in_o every_o in_o the_o effect_n of_o it_o an_o have_v give_v we_o everlasting_a consolation_n and_o then_o in_o the_o cause_n of_o it_o be_v good_a hope_n through_o grace_n last_o the_o petition_n themselves_o unto_o god_n that_o great_a prophet_n of_o the_o church_n our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n himself_o do_v not_o only_o reveal_v his_o father_n mind_n to_o his_o disciple_n but_o often_o pray_v and_o that_o earnest_o for_o they_o as_o in_o that_o 17._o joh._n and_o other_o place_n use_v and_o if_o this_o be_v so_o then_o by_o way_n of_o equity_n people_n ought_v to_o pray_v for_o their_o minister_n but_o to_o pass_v to_o the_o second_o after_o his_o exhort_v they_o to_o steadfastness_n he_o go_v to_o prayer_n and_o it_o show_v thus_o much_o that_o paul_n exhortation_n to_o they_o be_v not_o sufficient_a of_o themselves_o to_o establish_v these_o saint_n without_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o as_o much_o as_o these_o thing_n give_v in_o command_n to_o steadfastness_n be_v back_v by_o prayer_n it_o intimate_v how_o little_a these_o will_v prevail_v unless_o god_n touch_v the_o heart_n from_o whence_o we_o have_v this_o doctrine_n doct._n ii_o that_o minister_n preach_v without_o godâ—s_n blessing_n will_v do_v people_n soul_n no_o good_a the_o voice_n of_o minister_n in_o preach_v be_v but_o a_o empty_a sound_n and_o though_o it_o come_v into_o our_o ear_n will_v never_o reach_v the_o heart_n unless_o the_o doctrine_n have_v efficacy_n from_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n neither_o paul_n or_o any_o of_o his_o fellow-labourer_n in_o the_o work_n of_o the_o gospel_n will_v bring_v people_n into_o or_o keep_v they_o in_o the_o way_n of_o the_o lord_n unless_o god_n bless_v their_o labour_n to_o that_o end_n none_o of_o these_o bless_a apostle_n can_v by_o word_n of_o god_n that_o come_v to_o the_o jew_n how_o often_o do_v isaiah_n jeremiah_n ezekiel_n and_o other_o prophet_n tell_v they_o of_o their_o sin_n but_o they_o will_v not_o hear_v see_v how_o the_o lord_n complain_v in_o the_o 17._o jerem._n 25._o since_o the_o day_n that_o your_o father_n come_v forth_o out_o of_o the_o land_n of_o egypt_n unto_o this_o day_n i_o have_v send_v unto_o you_o all_o my_o servant_n the_o prophet_n daily_o rise_v up_o early_o and_o send_v they_o yet_o they_o hearken_v not_o unto_o i_o etc._n etc._n for_o all_o they_o have_v so_o many_o messenger_n from_o god_n to_o they_o and_o this_o too_o afterward_o repeat_v in_o several_a place_n yet_o they_o do_v not_o hearken_v to_o god_n neither_o when_o they_o be_v in_o their_o own_o country_n nor_o in_o a_o strange_a land_n and_o so_o in_o the_o new_a testament_n peter_n and_o paul_n here_o that_o labour_v more_o abundant_o than_o they_o all_o yet_o how_o inefficatious_a be_v it_o to_o many_o
