of_o they_o particular_o first_o where_o as_o we_o say_v thou_o be_v the_o kingdom_n magistrate_n and_o ruler_n must_v know_v that_o all_o the_o authority_n and_o rule_n which_o they_o have_v be_v from_o the_o lord_n &_o therefore_o they_o must_v remember_v to_o order_v themselves_o as_o god_n vicegerent_n use_v their_o power_n to_o bring_v man_n in_o subjection_n to_o god_n law_n and_o refer_v all_o their_o calling_n to_o his_o glory_n 2_o where_o we_o say_v thou_o be_v the_o power_n we_o be_v admonish_v when_o we_o be_v to_o perform_v any_o work_n as_o to_o do_v service_n to_o god_n to_o walk_v in_o our_o calling_n that_o we_o have_v no_o power_n of_o ourselves_o and_o for_o this_o cause_n we_o must_v ask_v power_n at_o god_n hand_n that_o we_o may_v be_v enable_v to_o walk_v of_o faith_n require_v in_o prayer_n in_o this_o word_n amen_o and_o it_o contain_v more_o than_o man_n at_o the_o first_o will_v imagine_v it_o signify_v certain_o so_o be_v it_o or_o it_o shall_v be_v so_o 2._o cor._n 1._o 20._o it_o be_v often_o take_v for_o a_o bare_a assent_n of_o the_o people_n say_v amen_o to_o the_o minister_n but_o in_o this_o place_n it_o contain_v more_o for_o every_o point_n in_o this_o prayer_n be_v not_o only_o a_o direction_n for_o public_a prayer_n but_o for_o private_a also_o and_o must_v be_v say_v as_o well_o of_o the_o minister_n as_o of_o the_o people_n now_o then_o there_o be_v two_o principal_a thing_n in_o prayer_n the_o first_o a_o desire_n of_o grace_n the_o second_o faith_n whereby_o we_o believe_v that_o god_n will_v grant_v thing_n desire_v the_o first_o be_v express_v in_o the_o six_o petition_n the_o latter_a be_v set_v forth_o in_o this_o word_n amen_o carry_v this_o sense_n in_o effect_n as_o we_o have_v crave_v these_o thing_n at_o thy_o hand_n o_o lord_n so_o we_o do_v believe_v that_o for_o christ_n his_o sake_n in_o good_a time_n thou_o will_v grant_v they_o to_o us._n therefore_o this_o part_n be_v more_o excellent_a than_o the_o former_a by_o how_o much_o our_o faith_n be_v more_o excellent_a than_o our_o desire_n for_o in_o this_o word_n be_v contain_v the_o testification_n of_o our_o faith_n whereas_o the_o petition_n be_v only_o testification_n of_o our_o desire_n and_o as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o end_n so_o also_o it_o be_v the_o seal_n of_o our_o prayer_n to_o make_v they_o authentical_a and_o it_o be_v to_o be_v use_v as_o i_o take_v it_o not_o only_o for_o this_o end_n to_o answer_v the_o minister_n but_o also_o to_o testify_v our_o faith_n for_o the_o thing_n desire_v 2_o grace_n to_o be_v desire_v hereby_o we_o be_v teach_v what_o grace_n we_o be_v to_o show_v in_o prayer_n we_o must_v labour_v to_o give_v assent_n to_o god_n promise_n when_o we_o pray_v &_o strive_v against_o doubt_v and_o unbelief_n be_v three_o thing_n require_v 1_o the_o first_o be_v the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o lord_n prayer_n and_o all_o the_o part_n thereof_o he_o that_o will_v pray_v by_o it_o must_v understand_v the_o meaning_n thereof_o the_o want_v therein_o to_o be_v bewail_v and_o the_o grace_n to_o be_v desire_v for_o which_o end_n it_o have_v be_v expound_v 2._o know_v this_o there_o be_v in_o the_o second_o place_n require_v thus_o much_o skill_n that_o he_o be_v able_a to_o refer_v every_o want_n &_o grace_n to_o one_o of_o the_o six_o petition_n for_o example_n feel_v in_o himself_o pride_n of_o heart_n he_o must_v be_v able_a to_o say_v this_o be_v a_o want_n in_o the_o first_o petition_n and_o feel_v a_o rebellion_n &_o slowness_n in_o do_v god_n commandment_n he_o must_v be_v able_a to_o say_v this_o be_v a_o sin_n to_o be_v pray_v against_o in_o the_o 3._o petition_n thus_o every_o want_n he_o must_v refer_v to_o his_o proper_a head_n again_o he_o must_v refer_v every_o grace_n to_o be_v desire_v to_o one_o of_o the_o six_o petition_n be_v strength_n in_o temptation_n to_o the_o sixth_o assiance_n in_o god_n providence_n to_o the_o four_o knowledge_n of_o god_n to_o the_o first_o etc._n etc._n and_o so_o in_o the_o rest_n 3._o in_o the_o three_o place_n he_o must_v before_o he_o pray_v consider_v what_o be_v his_o want_n and_o imperfection_n which_o most_o trouble_v he_o as_o also_o the_o grace_n which_o he_o will_v obtain_v then_o for_o the_o help_a of_o his_o memory_n he_o must_v go_v to_o the_o petition_n and_o he_o must_v set_v those_o thing_n first_o in_o his_o mind_n which_o do_v concern_v the_o first_o petition_n and_o those_o which_o concern_v the_o second_o petition_n must_v have_v the_o second_o place_n in_o his_o mind_n and_o so_o he_o must_v proceed_v in_o order_n as_o shall_v have_v occasion_n thus_o a_o man_n keep_v in_o mind_n the_o order_n of_o the_o petition_n as_o they_o stand_v shall_v be_v able_a by_o refer_v every_o grace_n and_o want_v unto_o his_o proper_a head_n to_o make_v a_o distinct_a prayer_n and_o to_o vary_v it_o as_o time_n place_n and_o other_o occasion_n shall_v move_v he_o quest._n must_v we_o of_o necessity_n follow_v all_o
