understande_v not_o the_o which_o they_o hear_v although_o they_o understande_v true_o the_o sai_n of_o esaie_n be_v fulfyl_v in_o these_o man_n you_o shall_v hear_v with_o your_o ear_n and_o not_o understande_v and_o you_o shall_v see_v with_o your_o iye_n &_o yet_o not_o se._n for_o the_o heart_n of_o this_o people_n be_v harden_v and_o they_o be_v dull_a of_o hear_n and_o they_o have_v one_o which_o lie_v in_o wait_n and_o envy_v good_a begynnynge_n by_o and_o by_o send_v into_o the_o mind_n certain_a fle_v and_o waver_v care_n which_o may_v destroy_v the_o seed_n before_o that_o it_o spring_v up_o in_o grass_n or_o have_v any_o root_n that_o they_o be_v no_o better_a than_o if_o they_o have_v not_o hear_v at_o all_o these_o be_v signify_v by_o the_o seed_n that_o fall_v by_o the_o high_a way_n where_o go_v both_o man_n and_o beast_n that_o be_v to_o say_v all_o manner_n of_o care_n affection_n of_o kindred_n and_o of_o affinity_n care_v for_o common_a office_n love_n hatred_n suspicion_n and_o such_o other_o these_o thing_n chase_v away_o the_o word_n of_o the_o gospel_n out_o of_o the_o mind_n etc._n welbede_v before_o it_o be_v receyve_v again_o there_o be_v other_o which_o receyve_v as_o it_o be_v seed_n the_o word_n of_o the_o gospel_n with_o his_o ear_n and_o gredelye_o put_v it_o into_o his_o heart_n record_v and_o devise_v with_o himself_o to_o frame_v his_o life_n after_o the_o rewle_fw-mi thereof_o but_o because_o he_o prynt_v it_o not_o utterlye_o in_o the_o inward_n of_o his_o mind_n but_o after_o the_o fashion_n of_o man_n he_o do_v that_o he_o do_v light_o with_o a_o certain_a affection_n for_o a_o time_n he_o nourysh_v the_o seed_n that_o he_o have_v take_v until_o it_o be_v grow_v up_o to_o a_o grass_n and_o show_v a_o certain_a hope_n of_o evangelical_a godliness_n absteyn_v from_o great_a sin_n and_o flourish_v with_o mean_a virtue_n but_o if_o any_o storm_n of_o persecution_n begin_v to_o rise_v and_o if_o for_o the_o gospel_n sake_n banishment_n be_v offer_v or_o prison_n punishment_n death_n &_o such_o other_o which_o require_v a_o steadfast_a strength_n of_o the_o mind_n than_o as_o at_o the_o vehement_n heat_n of_o the_o sun_n they_o wyther_o a_o way_n and_o utter_o faint_a and_o decay_n a_o figure_n of_o this_o be_v the_o stony_a ground_n which_o receyve_v the_o seed_n and_o bring_v it_o forth_o into_o grass_n etc._n but_o it_o be_v not_o able_a to_o succour_v and_o defend_v it_o with_o humour_n against_o the_o heat_n of_o the_o sun_n for_o through_o the_o stone_n it_o can_v have_v no_o deep_a nor_o sure_a root_n again_o there_o be_v a_o other_o which_o greedy_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o set_v it_o deep_a enough_o in_o his_o mind_n and_o keep_v it_o long_o but_o his_o mind_n be_v entangle_v and_o choke_v with_o trouble_n in_o care_n of_o this_o world_n and_o especial_a of_o riches_n as_o it_o be_v with_o certain_a thick_a thorn_n he_o can_v not_o free_o follow_v that_o he_o love_v because_o he_o will_v not_o suffer_v these_o thorn_n which_o cleave_v together_o and_o be_v entangle_v one_o with_o another_o among_o themselves_o to_o be_v cut_v away_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o seed_n that_o be_v sow_v do_v utter_o perish_v this_o be_v signify_v by_o the_o similitude_n of_o the_o seed_n which_o be_v receive_v in_o the_o ground_n full_a of_o thorn_n thirty_o some_o sixty_o sum_n a_o hundred_o the_o field_n be_v the_o world_n wherein_o be_v very_o many_o unmete_n hearer_n of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n the_o sowier_n be_v the_o son_n of_o man_n who_o come_v down_o from_o heaven_n into_o earth_n the_o seed_n be_v the_o word_n or_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n by_o the_o which_o the_o will_n of_o god_n be_v declare_v unto_o the_o world_n his_o will_n be_v this_o that_o all_o man_n distrust_v their_o own_o strength_n do_v trust_n with_o all_o their_o heart_n &_o mind_n the_o promise_n of_o the_o gospel_n that_o be_v to_o say_v they_o continue_v not_o in_o that_o they_o fervent_o &_o courageous_o begin_v neither_o do_v they_o bring_v forth_o any_o fruit_n of_o evangelike_a or_o christian_n godliness_n but_o such_o fruit_n alone_o as_o last_v but_o for_o a_o season_n and_o all_o be_v because_o they_o have_v no_o root_n and_o so_o cum_v it_o to_o pass_v that_o in_o prosperity_n they_o believe_v the_o gospel_n &_o as_o grass_n new_o spring_v up_o cause_n man_n to_o have_v a_o good_a opinion_n of_o theym_n that_o they_o will_v prove_v well_o but_o assoon_o as_o any_o adversity_n or_o persecution_n for_o the_o profession_n of_o god_n word_n do_v arise_v and_o assault_v they_o byanby_o they_o offend_v therewith_o do_v utter_o forsake_v their_o former_a purpose_n etc._n the_o seed_n that_o fall_v upon_o the_o heavenly_a ne_o procee_v from_o man_n and_o therefore_o call_v the_o word_n of_o god_n the_o son_n of_o man_n leave_v no_o place_n void_a god_n but_o cast_v his_o seed_n abroad_o every_o where_n but_o hope_n and_o token_n of_o godliness_n of_o themselves_o in_o certain_a outward_a thing_n but_o forasmuch_o as_o the_o thing_n which_o they_o have_v hear_v be_v not_o thorough_o imprient_v in_o they_o nor_o have_v not_o take_v sure_a root_n as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o inmost_a affection_n of_o their_o herte_n they_o be_v for_o a_o little_a time_n obedyent_o rewl_v after_o the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o when_o any_o bloustr_a storm_n of_o evil_n do_v arise_v they_o quaille_n and_o forsake_v their_o good_a beginning_n for_o a_o easy_a thing_n it_o be_v in_o prosperity_n to_o keep_v the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o if_o thou_o have_v not_o thorough_o suck_v and_o conceive_v a_o earnest_a affection_n &_o zele_n towards_o true_a godliness_n than_o at_o whatsoever_o time_n adversitye_n require_v that_o same_o stout_a strength_n of_o a_o evangelical_a heart_n that_o same_o face_n of_o holiness_n show_v for_o a_o time_n do_v vanish_v away_o now_o the_o seed_n that_o fall_v among_o thorn_n do_v sygnifie_v they_o which_o after_o that_o they_o have_v receive_v the_o seed_n of_o god_n word_n bear_v away_o with_o they_o no_o fruit_n of_o true_a godliness_n thereby_o because_o that_o their_o affection_n towards_o better_a live_n be_v stifle_v and_o oppress_v with_o care_n of_o this_o world_n etc._n with_o riches_n and_o with_o the_o sensual_a pleasure_n of_o this_o present_a life_n but_o the_o seed_n that_o be_v cast_v upon_o good_a earth_n betokenethe_v they_o which_o with_o a_o sincere_a herte_n take_v dilygent_a heed_n and_o be_v void_a from_o all_o vain_a affection_n do_v receive_v the_o wholesome_a word_n and_o lay_v it_o up_o in_o their_o memory_n and_o cause_v it_o thorough_o to_o sink_v down_o into_o the_o bottom_n of_o their_o affection_n so_o that_o by_o no_o assault_n of_o evil_n they_o can_v be_v remove_v from_o the_o earnest_a exercise_n of_o godliness_n once_o enter_v and_o begin_v no_o man_n when_o he_o light_v a_o candele_n cover_v it_o with_o a_o vessel_n or_o put_v it_o under_o a_o table_n but_o set_v it_o on_o a_o candelsticke_a that_o they_o which_o entre_fw-fr in_fw-it may_v see_v light_a nothing_o be_v in_o
