the_o word_n of_o god_n i_o may_v apply_v this_o to_o some_o particular_a difference_n but_o i_o forbear_v and_o though_o i_o do_v believe_v that_o many_o who_o have_v suffer_v for_o such_o thing_n which_o be_v not_o plain_o deliver_v in_o scripture_n may_v have_v find_v very_o great_a comfort_n in_o their_o suffering_n yet_o whether_o that_o comfort_n be_v a_o sign_n that_o they_o be_v interest_n and_o circumstance_n there_o may_v and_o will_v be_v mistake_v commit_v both_o by_o those_o that_o punish_v man_n for_o different_a opinion_n in_o matter_n of_o religion_n and_o by_o those_o who_o suffer_v for_o such_o opinion_n however_o let_v we_o thorough_o acquaint_v ourselves_o with_o the_o will_n of_o god_n in_o the_o gospel_n that_o we_o may_v know_v what_o thing_n we_o ought_v to_o suffer_v for_o and_o what_o not_o and_o if_o it_o be_v so_o that_o we_o suffer_v for_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n happy_a be_v we_o for_o the_o spirit_n of_o glory_n and_o of_o god_n rest_v upon_o we_o 1_o pet._n iu_o 14._o and_o in_o such_o suffering_n we_o have_v reason_n to_o be_v not_o only_o patient_a but_o cheerful_a which_o give_v i_o occasion_n to_o put_v you_o in_o mind_n many_o year_n sit_v under_o our_o own_o vine_n and_o under_o our_o own_o figtree_n have_v enjoy_v the_o gospel_n and_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n without_o any_o considerable_a disturbance_n and_o i_o hope_v we_o shall_v do_v so_o still_o but_o shall_v it_o please_v god_n to_o send_v a_o persecution_n among_o we_o because_o of_o the_o word_n it_o be_v to_o be_v fear_v that_o abundance_n with_o appetite_n every_o thing_n our_o flesh_n crave_v and_o our_o purse_n can_v procure_v we_o be_v eager_a for_o we_o dread_v any_o thing_n that_o be_v irksome_a to_o our_o body_n we_o do_v not_o acquaint_v ourselves_o with_o voluntary_a suffering_n do_v not_o keep_v under_o our_o body_n nor_o bring_v they_o into_o subjection_n and_o be_v this_o a_o due_a preparation_n for_o persecution_n nay_o under_o any_o loss_n or_o cross_n or_o ordinary_a sickness_n or_o sad_a accident_n how_o faint_a how_o weak_a how_o impatient_a how_o uneasy_a how_o discontent_a be_v we_o thou_o that_o fret_v anxious_a about_o the_o felicity_n of_o this_o world_n lay_v a_o restraint_n upon_o our_o wild_a appetite_n and_o the_o foolish_a desire_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o with_o the_o martyr_n move_v we_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n if_o we_o believe_v there_o be_v a_o god_n that_o see_v all_o and_o know_v all_o and_o takes_z pleasure_n in_o they_o that_o serve_v he_o be_v it_o possible_a that_o he_o can_v see_v man_n suffer_v for_o he_o and_o bleed_v and_o die_v for_o his_o gospel_n and_o not_o reward_v they_o it_o be_v certain_a they_o have_v no_o reward_n here_o and_o therefore_o they_o must_v his_o grateful_a acknowledgement_n of_o his_o faithful_a service_n and_o what_o be_v the_o goodness_n and_o generosity_n of_o man_n compare_v with_o the_o infinite_a goodness_n of_o god_n a_o mere_a shadow_n a_o atom_n a_o grain_n of_o sand_n compare_v with_o the_o sun_n or_o a_o mountain_n or_o the_o vast_a globe_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o as_o god_n be_v infinite_o good_a so_o the_o reward_n
