ascension_n have_v hope_n that_o they_o shall_v receive_v the_o holy_a spirit_n and_o his_o grace_n and_o so_o they_o do_v in_o effect_n and_o if_o thou_o find_v that_o thou_o have_v not_o get_v the_o spirit_n in_o no_o measure_n no_o illumination_n no_o reformation_n of_o thy_o corrupt_a nature_n sore_o may_v thy_o heart_n be_v for_o in_o respect_n of_o thou_o in_o vain_a be_v he_o rise_v and_o glorify_v therefore_o as_o thou_o will_v be_v partaker_n of_o his_o glory_n strive_v to_o get_v his_o holy_a spirit_n ere_o thou_o go_v out_o of_o this_o world_n or_o else_o thou_o shall_v never_o that_o no_o word_n no_o preach_n if_o there_o be_v no_o more_o but_o word_n and_o preach_v can_v make_v any_o man_n to_o conceive_v heavenly_a thing_n yea_o no_o admonition_n no_o threaten_n no_o judgement_n if_o there_o be_v no_o more_o shall_v make_v the_o harden_a heart_n to_o be_v the_o better_a the_o blind_a thing_n in_o the_o world_n be_v the_o heart_n of_o man_n so_o except_o the_o inward_a teacher_n come_v out_o of_o the_o heaven_n &_o illuminate_v &_o mollify_v the_o heart_n all_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o world_n shall_v do_v the_o hart_n no_o good_a but_o rather_o evil_a so_o that_o thou_o may_v see_v this_o to_o be_v true_a that_o the_o natural_a man_n be_v not_o capable_a of_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n but_o when_o it_o please_v the_o miss_v the_o lord_n away_o they_o will_v have_v no_o joy_n and_o by_o the_o contrary_a place_v they_o in_o all_o the_o sorrow_n in_o the_o world_n if_o they_o get_v a_o sight_n of_o jesus_n christ_n they_o get_v joy_n enough_o but_o on_o the_o other_o side_n the_o wicked_a and_o the_o ungodly_a who_o never_o taste_v how_o sweet_a the_o lord_n be_v never_o rejoice_v but_o when_o they_o want_v the_o lord_n jesus_n out_o of_o their_o sight_n they_o have_v no_o pleasure_n in_o his_o presence_n they_o have_v never_o pleasure_n to_o hear_v of_o christ_n
for_o ever_o we_o shall_v enter_v into_o the_o way_n to_o get_v his_o presence_n christian_n religion_n stand_v not_o so_o much_o in_o curiosity_n or_o in_o speech_n as_o in_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o heart_n &_o in_o a_o practise_n of_o that_o love_n of_o the_o heart_n in_o the_o life_n and_o conversation_n the_o apostle_n paul_n in_o the_o four_o chap._n to_o the_o ephes_n vers_fw-la 22.24_o tell_v we_o what_o it_o be_v to_o learn_v christ_n even_o to_o put_v off_o the_o old_a man_n and_o to_o put_v on_o the_o new_a man_n this_o for_o the_o answer_n yet_o he_o insi_v in_o that_o that_o because_o he_o not_o see_v himself_o think_v himself_o as_o good_a as_o any_o other_o it_o be_v a_o easy_a thing_n to_o the_o tongue_n to_o cloak_n the_o filth_n of_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o hypocrite_n and_o what_o will_v his_o hand_n be_v do_v then_o it_o will_v be_v utter_v itself_o in_o a_o filthy_a life_n so_o take_v not_o up_o the_o disposition_n of_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n or_o woman_n by_o the_o tongue_n but_o by_o the_o hand_n for_o the_o hand_n will_v say_v to_o the_o tongue_n tongue_n thou_o lie_v john_n 1._o epist_n chap._n 2._o verse_n 4._o if_o any_o say_v i_o know_v god_n and_o keep_v not_o his_o command_n he_o be_v a_o liar_n and_o the_o truth_n be_v not_o in_o he_o and_o again_o chap._n 4._o verse_n 20._o if_o any_o man_n say_v i_o love_v god_n and_o hate_v his_o brother_n he_o be_v but_o a_o liar_n who_o be_v it_o that_o control_v the_o tongue_n and_o testify_v before_o the_o world_n that_o the_o heart_n be_v but_o false_a it_o be_v the_o hand_n and_o the_o work_n the_o tongue_n be_v but_o a_o cloak_n of_o falseness_n mark_v a_o faithful_a man_n by_o his_o hâ—nde_n and_o not_o by_o his_o tongue_n our_o lord_n say_v in_o the_o seven_o chap._n of_o creature_n of_o all_o angel_n they_o can_v be_v a_o solid_a ground_n to_o our_o faith_n neither_o can_v the_o authoritv_n of_o the_o church_fw-mi be_v a_o ground_n to_o our_o faith_n albeit_o the_o be_v loath_a to_o speak_v the_o word_n that_o will_v grieve_v they_o though_o it_o be_v but_o a_o word_n to_o make_v they_o heavy_a he_o be_v loath_a to_o utter_v it_o unto_o they_o and_o therefore_o ere_o ever_o he_o do_v to_o they_o any_o thing_n grievous_a sad_a or_o heavy_a the_o lord_n use_v to_o prepare_v their_o heart_n to_o bear_v with_o it_o patient_o and_o to_o furnish_v their_o heart_n with_o comfort_n against_o cross_n and_o tribulation_n that_o when_o persecution_n and_o affliction_n and_o sad_a and_o heavy_a word_n shall_v come_v they_o shall_v bear_v all_o thing_n the_o more_o patient_o and_o glad_o this_o be_v the_o lord_n custom_n so_o all_o man_n shall_v beware_v to_o grieve_v the_o heart_n of_o any_o man_n and_o chief_o of_o the_o godly_a i_o warn_v thou_o be_v loath_a we_o speak_v they_o not_o in_o humane_a word_n but_o in_o powerful_a word_n of_o the_o spirit_n the_o spirit_n have_v ay_o his_o own_o matter_n &_o as_o the_o matter_n be_v heavenly_a so_o the_o word_n must_v savour_n of_o heaven_n &_o of_o the_o spirit_n for_o as_o the_o spirit_n have_v his_o own_o matter_n so_o have_v he_o his_o own_o word_n the_o word_n must_v be_v evident_a &_o plain_a that_o the_o unlearned_a may_v be_v capable_a of_o they_o we_o have_v many_o place_n of_o paul_n agree_v to_o this_o in_o that_o chap._n vers_fw-la 4._o go_v before_o what_o be_v my_o language_n have_v no_o sin_n in_o he_o his_o heart_n be_v clean_o and_o his_o love_n be_v perfect_a without_o any_o mixture_n of_o hatred_n or_o any_o other_o sinful_a infirmity_n all_o our_o affection_n our_o they_o because_o they_o be_v like_o he_o who_o the_o world_n love_v not_o for_o brethren_n this_o be_v the_o ground_n of_o persecution_n to_o wit_n the_o hatred_n of_o god_n the_o hatred_n of_o the_o light_n and_o the_o hatred_n of_o that_o majesty_n of_o self_n well_o then_o you_o see_v the_o hatred_n and_o the_o persecution_n of_o this_o world_n be_v wrong_v understand_v man_n think_v that_o when_o any_o man_n be_v persecute_v or_o hate_v of_o the_o world_n that_o god_n hate_v they_o also_o this_o be_v the_o judgement_n of_o the_o world_n when_o they_o see_v any_o man_n trouble_v for_o the_o cause_n of_o jesus_n christ_n they_o will_v say_v god_n hate_v this_o man_n now_o this_o be_v so_o false_a a_o judgement_n that_o by_o the_o contrary_a the_o hatred_n of_o this_o world_n be_v such_o a_o presence_n that_o he_o will_v count_v nothing_o of_o all_o the_o trouble_n of_o the_o world_n as_o paul_n say_v rom._n 8._o vers_fw-la 31._o if_o god_n be_v with_o we_o who_o can_v be_v against_o we_o and_o again_o who_o can_v separate_v we_o from_o the_o love_n of_o god_n in_o jesus_n christ_n he_o who_o feel_v this_o he_o will_v stand_v up_o and_o spit_v in_o the_o face_n of_o all_o the_o tyrant_n in_o the_o world_n he_o will_v defy_v the_o world_n the_o man_n who_o be_v far_a out_o of_o the_o world_n jesus_n christ_n be_v near_a he_o go_v out_o of_o the_o world_n go_v or_o woman_n be_v join_v with_o this_o curse_a generation_n the_o most_o curse_a generation_n that_o ever_o be_v on_o the_o face_n of_o the_o earth_n thou_o shall_v find_v that_o thy_o god_n shall_v be_v the_o far_a from_o thou_o when_o thou_o live_v as_o they_o live_v and_o speak_v as_o they_o speak_v i_o appeal_v thy_o conscience_n if_o thou_o find_v then_o the_o comfort_n and_o joy_n which_o lord_n take_v his_o own_o out_o of_o this_o miserable_a world_n to_o dwell_v with_o himself_o in_o joy_n and_o felicity_n the_o other_o remedy_n against_o persecution_n be_v when_o the_o lord_n let_v his_o own_o still_o fight_v on_o in_o a_o battle_n and_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n keep_v they_o wonderful_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o persecution_n so_o that_o the_o world_n will_v be_v compel_v to_o wonder_v that_o a_o man_n or_o a_o woman_n who_o feel_v the_o lord_n presence_n will_v so_o triumph_v in_o affliction_n all_o this_o world_n have_v no_o power_n to_o take_v their_o life_n so_o long_o as_o the_o lord_n have_v his_o work_n in_o their_o hand_n all_o the_o tyrant_n under_o the_o heaven_n have_v no_o power_n to_o harm_v they_o and_o namely_o a_o preacher_n till_o he_o end_v his_o work_n for_o the_o which_o the_o lord_n set_v he_o in_o the_o world_n all_o the_o tyrant_n in_o the_o earth_n can_v take_v his_o life_n from_o he_o no_o they_o can_v touch_v the_o least_o hair_n of_o his_o head_n for_o they_o be_v number_v yea_o rather_o ere_o he_o get_v any_o harm_n the_o lord_n will_v send_v his_o angel_n out_o of_o heaven_n as_o he_o send_v he_o to_o peter_n and_o pull_v he_o out_o of_o the_o throat_n of_o death_n now_o brethren_n look_v to_o the_o order_n which_o the_o lord_n use_v in_o these_o remedy_n he_o will_v not_o incontinent_a take_v his_o own_o out_o of_o the_o be_v ever_o to_o have_v a_o knowledge_n and_o confidence_n of_o thy_o god_n and_o of_o his_o essential_a property_n otherways_o the_o heart_n shall_v not_o be_v assure_v thou_o may_v well_o pray_v
