some_o kind_n of_o fruit_n and_o such_o that_o look_v like_o good_a fruit_n it_o be_v call_v fruit_n he_o may_v pray_v hear_v the_o word_n and_o lead_v a_o honest_a moral_a and_o sober_a life_n yea_o and_o give_v to_o the_o poor_a and_o yet_o not_o bring_v forth_o this_o fruit_n in_o christ_n or_o from_o a_o real_a union_n he_o have_v with_o he_o for_o all_o act_n of_o a_o external_n profession_n in_o religion_n may_v be_v bring_v forth_o without_o any_o divine_a principle_n of_o grace_n or_o be_v root_v and_o graft_v into_o christ_n by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o such_o a_o one_o the_o good_a husbandman_n will_v discover_v for_o this_o man_n fruit_n will_v not_o continue_v but_o wither_v have_v not_o root_n in_o himself_o but_o endure_v for_o a_o while_n for_o when_o tribulation_n and_o 21._o persecution_n arise_v because_o of_o the_o word_n by_o and_o by_o he_o be_v offend_v evident_a it_o be_v that_o all_o that_o receive_v the_o seed_n into_o good_a ground_n or_o be_v to_o be_v baptize_v into_o christ_n paul_n say_v of_o some_o that_o they_o be_v in_o christ_n before_o i_o how_o do_v he_o know_v who_o be_v saving_o invisible_o in_o christ_n no_o doubt_v he_o speak_v of_o their_o visible_a be_v in_o he_o by_o that_o profession_n they_o make_v of_o the_o gospel_n and_o by_o their_o be_v baptize_v and_o in_o this_o respect_n vine_n be_v to_o be_v take_v for_o the_o church_n which_o sometime_o bear_v christ_n name_n now_o evident_a it_o be_v many_o that_o thus_o be_v in_o christ_n that_o be_v by_o a_o profession_n and_o sacramental_a implantation_n may_v bring_v forth_o some_o sort_n of_o fruit_n for_o a_o while_n but_o for_o want_v of_o a_o real_a union_n with_o christ_n they_o have_v not_o a_o supply_n of_o grace_n and_o divine_a sap_n from_o the_o root_n they_o abide_v not_o in_o christ_n that_o be_v in_o a_o visible_a profession_n but_o be_v cast_v forth_o as_o wither_a branch_n and_o at_o last_o will_v be_v cast_v into_o the_o fire_n but_o now_o whosoever_o bring_v forth_o true_a spiritual_a fruit_n who_o be_v visible_o in_o christ_n the_o vine_n he_o will_v god_n purge_v that_o he_o may_v bring_v forth_o more_o fruit._n and_o that_o this_o be_v the_o true_a meaning_n of_o this_o text_n be_v plain_a if_o we_o consider_v what_o christ_n say_v of_o all_o his_o elect_a one_o as_o hint_v to_o you_o before_o viz._n that_o he_o have_v not_o only_o choose_v they_o but_o ordain_v they_o that_o they_o 16._o shall_v go_v and_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n and_o that_o their_o fruit_n shall_v remain_v and_o this_o he_o speak_v to_o his_o disciple_n soon_o after_o in_o this_o very_a chapter_n to_o comfort_v they_o lest_o they_o may_v fear_v miscarry_v and_o become_v like_o such_o who_o be_v wither_v branch_n and_o this_o be_v union_n with_o he_o and_o which_o be_v communicable_a to_o we_o all_o his_o member_n do_v receive_v from_o christ_n by_o virtue_n of_o their_o union_n with_o he_o our_o lord_n pray_v in_o verse_n 20_o that_o they_o all_o may_v be_v one_o as_o thou_o father_n be_v in_o i_o and_o i_o in_o thou_o that_o they_o also_o may_v be_v one_o in_o we_o etc._n etc._n now_o though_o it_o be_v hard_a to_o understand_v the_o nature_n of_o this_o union_n in_o some_o respect_n yet_o this_o be_v easy_a to_o comprehend_v viz._n that_o the_o union_n between_o the_o father_n and_o christ_n be_v a_o inseparable_a union_n it_o be_v a_o abide_a union_n or_o it_o be_v a_o union_n that_o can_v be_v dissolve_v why_o then_o let_v we_o consider_v since_o christ_n

which_o sin_n against_o the_o holy_a ghost_n i_o purpose_v to_o open_a before_o i_o close_o with_o this_o text._n four_o i_o shall_v proceed_v to_o show_v you_o what_o a_o taste_n of_o god_n and_o their_o will_n 3._o above_o the_o will_n of_o god_n like_v not_o of_o that_o way_n of_o salvation_n that_o he_o in_o his_o eternal_a counsel_n fix_v upon_o they_o will_v be_v save_v by_o their_o own_o serious_o upon_o be_v our_o salvation_n so_o great_a that_o he_o part_v with_o his_o life_n to_o procure_v it_o and_o be_v it_o not_o worth_a your_o part_n with_o your_o sin_n to_o have_v a_o interest_n in_o it_o what_o be_v the_o voice_n of_o the_o heart_n and_o way_n of_o such_o sinner_n do_v not_o they_o reproach_v the_o son_n of_o god_n after_o this_o manner_n why_o be_v thou_o so_o unwise_a to_o shed_v thy_o blood_n to_o purchase_v salvation_n for_o we_o we_o do_v not_o value_v it_o above_o the_o pleasure_n of_o the_o world_n we_o esteem_v our_o carnal_a delight_n and_o earthly_a profit_n more_o than_o that_o salvation_n which_o thou_o have_v wrought_v 2._o nay_o they_o slight_a the_o person_n of_o christ_n who_o say_v behold_v i_o behold_v i_o look_v unto_o i_o
