their_o child_n to_o baptism_n mere_o of_o custom_n neither_o regard_v the_o ground_n on_o which_o nor_o the_o end_n for_o which_o nor_o the_o manner_n how_o they_o ought_v to_o do_v this_o neither_o consider_v the_o mercy_n which_o god_n offer_v to_o they_o and_o their_o child_n in_o this_o sacred_a ordinance_n nor_o yet_o the_o duty_n whereunto_o they_o and_o their_o child_n be_v herein_o hear_v that_o some_o hence_o make_v bold_a to_o speak_v evil_a of_o the_o baptism_n of_o child_n as_o if_o it_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o all_o profaneness_n and_o impiety_n that_o be_v in_o the_o church_n which_o though_o it_o be_v a_o most_o false_a calumny_n and_o i_o know_v not_o how_o it_o can_v be_v excuse_v from_o blasphemy_n for_o be_v not_o many_o of_o those_o that_o be_v baptize_v in_o infancy_n pious_a wise_a and_o garcious_a christian_o how_o can_v baptism_n then_o in_o infancy_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o profaneness_n see_v where_o the_o cause_n be_v it_o produce_v the_o effect_n be_v not_o there_o among_o the_o jew_n as_o many_o profane_a ignorant_a and_o disorder_a person_n as_o among_o we_o shall_v man_n say_v that_o circumcise_n their_o child_n in_o infancy_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o it_o that_o be_v plain_a blasphemy_n be_v there_o not_o notorious_a profaneness_n in_o the_o primitive_a church_n as_o among_o the_o corinthian_n etc._n etc._n be_v baptism_n will_v abhor_v be_v not_o the_o word_n of_o god_n a_o savour_n of_o death_n and_o occasion_n of_o harden_v to_o some_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n a_o occasion_n to_o some_o of_o temporal_a and_o spiritual_a judgement_n yet_o what_o christian_n dare_v say_v that_o these_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o sin_n in_o the_o church_n yet_o i_o say_v though_o this_o be_v a_o false_a and_o wicked_a imputation_n that_o the_o baptise_v of_o infant_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o evil_n in_o the_o church_n let_v they_o look_v to_o it_o that_o give_v occasion_n of_o such_o blasphemy_n four_o all_o christian_n shall_v be_v stir_v up_o the_o rather_o to_o make_v a_o good_a improvement_n of_o this_o privilege_n of_o christian_a parent_n in_o have_v god_n not_o only_o for_o their_o god_n but_o also_o for_o the_o god_n of_o their_o child_n and_o so_o of_o the_o baptise_v of_o their_o child_n because_o we_o see_v satan_n
