take_v such_o heed_n lest_o he_o fall_v and_o st._n john_n himself_o also_o say_v in_o the_o first_o epistle_n chap._n 5.17_o all_o unrighteousness_n be_v sin_n and_o there_o be_v a_o sin_n not_o unto_o death_n and_o in_o vers_n 16._o if_o any_o man_n see_v his_o brother_n sin_n a_o sin_n that_o be_v not_o to_o death_n he_o shall_v ask_v and_o he_o shall_v give_v he_o life_n for_o they_o that_o sin_n not_o unto_o death_n and_o 1_o epist_n ch_n 1._o v._n 8._o if_o we_o say_v that_o we_o have_v no_o sin_n we_o deceive_v ourselves_o and_o the_o truth_n be_v not_o in_o we_o if_o we_o that_o the_o inclination_n of_o his_o mind_n be_v to_o serve_v god_n in_o all_o holiness_n of_o life_n and_o he_o delight_v in_o that_o in_o his_o inward_a man._n and_o if_o he_o chance_v to_o do_v the_o contrary_a it_o be_v unwilling_o and_o he_o count_v it_o his_o unhappiness_n and_o bondage_n from_o which_o he_o endeavour_v to_o get_v free_a whereas_o the_o unregenerate_a man_n count_v sin_n his_o freedom_n and_o every_o holy_a observance_n of_o god_n commandment_n his_o bondage_n and_o when_o his_o conscience_n check_v he_o and_o force_v he_o to_o any_o walk_n with_o god_n in_o religious_a duty_n it_o be_v thraldom_n and_o bondage_n to_o he_o for_o his_o course_n of_o life_n and_o conversation_n be_v to_o serve_v the_o flesh_n and_o the_o world_n to_o walk_v in_o the_o way_n of_o his_o own_o heart_n and_o the_o sight_n of_o his_o eye_n and_o be_v sorry_a that_o there_o be_v any_o commandment_n to_o restrain_v he_o and_o desire_v not_o to_o know_v it_o at_o least_o in_o the_o strictness_n of_o it_o again_o if_o a_o regenerate_a person_n chance_n to_o be_v overcome_v by_o his_o corruption_n and_o strength_n of_o temptation_n he_o immediate_o not_o only_a loathe_v the_o sin_n but_o himself_o also_o that_o he_o be_v no_o better_o and_o will_v rather_o undergo_v all_o misery_n than_o fall_v into_o the_o same_o again_o and_o will_v forego_v all_o the_o enjoyment_n that_o he_o have_v or_o hope_n for_o in_o this_o world_n if_o he_o can_v but_o undo_v what_o he_o have_v misdo_v the_o unregenerate_a be_v not_o so_o and_o as_o solomon_n describe_v the_o harlot_n she_o wipe_v her_o mouth_n and_o say_v i_o have_v not_o sin_v so_o do_v other_o in_o the_o state_n of_o nature_n unless_o their_o sin_n be_v very_o gross_a say_v they_o have_v not_o sin_v or_o if_o they_o confess_v their_o sin_n to_o god_n and_o pray_v for_o pardon_n they_o think_v it_o be_v enough_o to_o embolden_v they_o to_o sin_n afresh_o and_o as_o the_o regenerate_v walk_n with_o god_n and_o premeditate_v and_o study_v not_o how_o they_o may_v commit_v a_o sin_n secret_o and_o undiscovered_a so_o as_o to_o avoid_v the_o shame_n and_o punishment_n but_o how_o they_o may_v walk_v close_o with_o god_n and_o avoid_v every_o temptation_n and_o snare_n of_o satan_n so_o the_o unregenerate_a study_n and_o contrive_v to_o sin_n with_o advantage_n and_o that_o place_n of_o st._n john_n that_o say_v you_o have_v overcome_v the_o evil_a one_o may_v be_v upon_o this_o ground_n that_o they_o have_v overcome_v the_o evil_a one_o many_o time_n and_o persist_v in_o the_o conquest_n of_o their_o corruption_n every_o day_n though_o peradventure_o some_o time_n the_o devil_n may_v prevail_v to_o overcome_v they_o as_o it_o be_v say_v he_o shall_v bruise_v thy_o heel_n and_o though_o god_n never_o leave_v man_n to_o be_v overcome_v when_o he_o endeavour_v his_o utmost_a yet_o god_n may_v let_v he_o be_v overcome_v as_o peter_n be_v to_o humble_v he_o in_o the_o sight_n
