truth_n upon_o the_o lord_n day_n if_o you_o will_v hide_v they_o thus_o in_o your_o heart_n and_o keep_v they_o all_o the_o week_n they_o will_v help_v you_o against_o the_o many_o temptation_n that_o you_o meet_v withal_o you_o go_v abroad_o on_o the_o week_n day_n into_o company_n and_o there_o you_o meet_v with_o a_o temptation_n and_o it_o overcome_v you_o and_o you_o complain_v alas_o i_o be_o weak_a i_o have_v meet_v with_o a_o temptation_n and_o it_o have_v foil_v i_o but_o have_v you_o hide_v the_o word_n that_o you_o hear_v on_o the_o lord_n day_n in_o your_o heart_n it_o will_v have_v keep_v you_o from_o the_o strength_n of_o your_o temptation_n that_o it_o shall_v not_o have_v overcome_v you_o those_o that_o be_v true_o godly_a they_o have_v a_o care_n to_o hide_v the_o word_n in_o their_o heart_n when_o they_o hear_v it_o they_o think_v this_o word_n shall_v help_v i_o against_o such_o and_o such_o sin_n which_o i_o be_o prone_a to_o by_o nature_n and_o when_o the_o creature_n you_o shall_v hide_v that_o word_n against_o that_o temptation_n come_v and_o you_o hear_v a_o word_n against_o unrighteousness_n and_o unjust_a deal_n when_o a_o temptation_n come_v to_o that_o sin_n you_o shall_v hide_v that_o word_n against_o that_o time_n so_o you_o hear_v a_o word_n that_o speak_v of_o obedience_n to_o parent_n and_o servant_n duty_n to_o governor_n now_o you_o have_v strong_a nature_n and_o so_o strength_n of_o nature_n for_o god_n but_o how_o come_v this_o to_o pass_v you_o be_v strong_a and_o the_o word_n of_o god_n abide_v in_o you_o here_o be_v wicked_a one_o and_o on_o the_o other_o side_n many_o young_a people_n that_o do_v come_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n it_o may_v be_v they_o be_v draw_v to_o it_o by_o other_o or_o it_o may_v be_v they_o love_v to_o have_v a_o walk_n in_o the_o morning_n but_o the_o word_n of_o god_n abide_v not_o in_o they_o and_o therefore_o when_o the_o wicked_a one_o come_v with_o temptation_n the_o week_n after_o they_o be_v overcome_v by_o he_o but_o those_o that_o have_v the_o word_n of_o god_n abide_v in_o they_o they_o overcome_v the_o wicked_a one_o and_o so_o in_o job_n 8._o 31._o you_o have_v a_o very_a remarkable_a scripture_n for_o this_o purpose_n of_o keep_v the_o word_n after_o we_o have_v hear_v it_o then_o say_v jesus_n to_o those_o which_o believe_v on_o he_o if_o you_o continue_v in_o my_o word_n then_o be_v you_o my_o disciple_n indeed_o i_o beseech_v you_o observe_v it_o it_o be_v say_v that_o the_o jew_n do_v believe_v in_o christ_n and_o yet_o say_v christ_n if_o you_o continue_v grievous_a affliction_n in_o their_o child_n that_o the_o most_o eminent_a saint_n of_o god_n be_v not_o free_v from_o very_o grievous_a affliction_n even_o in_o their_o child_n it_o be_v one_o of_o the_o sore_a affliction_n that_o almost_o ever_o any_o saint_n of_o god_n meet_v withal_o in_o his_o child_n this_o affliction_n of_o aaron_n at_o this_o time_n that_o two_o of_o his_o son_n and_o as_o i_o tell_v you_o the_o last_o day_n renown_a man_n in_o israel_n new_o consecrate_v to_o the_o office_n of_o priesthood_n that_o the_o very_o first_o day_n they_o come_v to_o offer_v in_o their_o office_n they_o be_v strike_v before_o all_o the_o people_n with_o fire_n from_o heaven_n and_o consume_v oh_o what_o a_o sad_a affliction_n be_v it_o to_o aaron_n their_o father_n when_o he_o see_v his_o son_n in_o such_o a_o manner_n destroy_v by_o god_n himself_o consider_v of_o this_o you_o that_o have_v child_n and_o be_v ready_a to_o murmur_v and_o complain_v of_o every_o little_a affliction_n that_o be_v upon_o you_o in_o respect_n of_o your_o child_n if_o so_o be_v that_o your_o child_n be_v but_o a_o little_a sick_a or_o there_o be_v any_o miscarriage_n of_o they_o you_o think_v it_o be_v a_o heavy_a hand_n of_o god_n but_o especial_o if_o god_n take_v away_o your_o child_n by_o death_n than_o you_o mourn_v and_o will_v not_o be_v comfort_v yea_o but_o though_o god_n have_v take_v away_o your_o child_n by_o death_n yea_o perhaps_o it_o may_v be_v by_o a_o violent_a death_n as_o be_v drown_v etc._n etc._n yet_o they_o have_v not_o be_v strike_v with_o fire_n from_o heaven_n by_o god_n and_o they_o have_v not_o be_v of_o such_o public_a use_n these_o here_o be_v renown_a man_n and_o take_v away_o in_o their_o very_a sin_n too_o your_o child_n which_o have_v go_v upon_o their_o lawful_a employment_n and_o god_n have_v take_v away_o their_o life_n there_o be_v no_o such_o cause_n of_o murmur_v here_o but_o when_o god_n take_v away_o child_n in_o their_o sin_n and_o in_o such_o a_o way_n as_o by_o fire_n from_o heaven_n thus_o god_n take_v away_o aaron_n child_n and_o he_o be_v as_o dear_a to_o god_n as_o you_o be_v and_o yet_o thus_o god_n deal_v with_o way_n for_o you_o shall_v find_v if_o you_o read_v on_o in_o this_o story_n that_o they_o be_v smite_v with_o fire_n from_o heaven_n but_o it_o do_v not_o appear_v what_o fire_n for_o it_o do_v not_o so_o much_o as_o consume_v their_o clothes_n nor_o their_o body_n but_o go_v through_o and_o strike_v they_o dead_a and_o no_o body_n can_v tell_v how_o god_n judgement_n do_v come_v in_o a_o way_n that_o be_v invisible_a if_o it_o have_v be_v in_o a_o visible_a flame_n of_o fire_n all_o will_v have_v see_v it_o and_o it_o will_v have_v burn_v their_o clothes_n or_o their_o body_n but_o you_o shall_v find_v in_o the_o 5_o verse_n that_o they_o be_v carry_v away_o from_o the_o sanctuary_n in_o their_o cleath_n they_o be_v not_o burn_v another_o note_n be_v this_o obser_n that_o though_o the_o life_n of_o man_n be_v dear_a and_o precious_a to_o god_n yet_o they_o be_v not_o so_o precious_a as_o his_o glory_n the_o glory_n of_o his_o name_n be_v a_o thousand_o thousand_o time_n more_o dear_a unto_o god_n then_o the_o life_n of_o thousand_o thousand_o of_o people_n the_o life_n of_o nadab_n and_o abihu_n must_v go_v that_o god_n may_v be_v sanctify_v if_o it_o come_v so_o in_o the_o way_n as_o i_o may_v so_o say_v he_o live_v of_o man_n and_o the_o sanctify_a of_o god_n name_n the_o glory_n of_o god_n must_v pass_v on_o and_o mast_n have_v its_o course_n let_v the_o life_n of_o man_n go_v which_o way_n they_o will_n we_o think_v much_o to_o have_v the_o life_n of_o man_n take_v away_o but_o if_o we_o know_v 〈◊〉_d glory_n of_o god_n mean_v and_o what_o infinite_a reason_n if_o we_o may_v have_v it_o by_o consequence_n it_o be_v a_o affirmative_a as_o well_o as_o the_o negative_a when_o we_o have_v it_o by_o consequence_n but_o now_o the_o note_n of_o observation_n be_v that_o the_o near_a any_o come_v to_o god_n if_o they_o sin_n against_o he_o they_o must_v not_o expect_v to_o be_v spare_v do_v not_o think_v that_o god_n will_v spare_v you_o the_o more_o because_o you_o be_v professor_n of_o religion_n or_o because_o you_o do_v often_o worship_v he_o i_o suppose_v you_o that_o be_v acquaint_v with_o scripture_n know_v that_o place_n in_o amos_n 3._o 2._o you_o be_v glorify_v as_o if_o moses_n shall_v say_v in_o god_n name_n why_o i_o must_v have_v glory_n from_o the_o people_n and_o how_o by_o make_v my_o name_n appear_v to_o be_v holy_a this_o be_v the_o glory_n that_o i_o stand_v upon_o above_o all_o other_o thing_n that_o my_o name_n may_v appear_v to_o be_v holy_a that_o i_o may_v appear_v to_o be_v a_o holy_a god_n i_o beseech_v you_o brethren_n have_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o holiness_n above_o all_o thing_n and_o therefore_o the_o angel_n when_o they_o be_v celebrate_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n they_o do_v not_o say_v lord_n almighty_a almighty_a almighty_a or_o lord_n omniscient_a omniscient_a omniscient_a but_o holy_a holy_a holy_a those_o three_o together_o the_o holiness_n of_o god_n therein_o appear_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n go_v out_o of_o the_o congregation_n the_o seed_n of_o the_o word_n be_v quite_o go_v and_o be_v as_o if_o they_o have_v not_o hear_v at_o all_o and_o then_o there_o be_v the_o stony_a ground_n and_o the_o thorny_a ground_n that_o be_v those_o that_o hear_v with_o joy_n as_o be_v speak_v of_o before_o but_o the_o care_n of_o the_o world_n choke_v the_o seed_n of_o the_o word_n as_o soon_o as_o ever_o they_o be_v go_v they_o be_v upon_o their_o worldly_a business_n and_o their_o thought_n and_o heart_n run_v that_o way_n but_o then_o there_o be_v the_o good_a ground_n that_o be_v those_o that_o receive_v the_o seed_n of_o the_o word_n into_o a_o good_a and_o honest_a heart_n a_o good_a and_o a_o honest_a heart_n they_o be_v both_o join_v together_o by_o a_o good_a heart_n be_v mean_v a_o heart_n that_o have_v not_o malice_n in_o it_o a_o heart_n that_o do_v desire_n to_o empty_v itself_o of_o every_o thing_n that_o be_v against_o the_o word_n and_o which_o be_v not_o suitable_a to_o the_o spiritualnesse_n of_o the_o word_n a_o heart_n i_o say_v that_o entertain_v nothing_o in_o it_o that_o any_o way_n make_v against_o the_o word_n a_o good_a heart_n be_v a_o heart_n which_o as_o the_o apostle_n say_v in_o jam._n 1._o 21._o and_o that_o place_n may_v very_o well_o come_v in_o here_o to_o be_v open_v be_v cleanse_v from_o all_o filthiness_n and_o superfluity_n of_o naughtiness_n the_o word_n that_o be_v there_o translate_a filthiness_n it_o signify_v excrement_n that_o which_o be_v unclean_a that_o which_o come_v from_o the_o body_n such_o be_v the_o sinfulness_n of_o your_o heart_n you_o come_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n if_o it_o be_v with_o evil_a heart_n you_o mingle_v that_o very_a filthiness_n which_o be_v as_o vile_a before_o god_n as_o excrement_n be_v and_o superfluity_n of_o naughtiness_n by_o that_o i_o take_v be_v mean_v as_o if_o the_o holy_a ghost_n shall_v say_v do_v not_o think_v it_o enough_o for_o to_o purge_v away_o filthiness_n that_o be_v notorious_a stink_a evil_n abominable_a sin_n that_o you_o do_v not_o come_v with_o such_o filthy_a vile_a heart_n but_o whatsoever_o there_o be_v in_o your_o heart_n that_o be_v any_o way_n against_o the_o work_n of_o grace_n it_o be_v a_o superfluity_n of_o naughtiness_n all_o kind_n of_o evil_a thought_n and_o evil_a affection_n that_o be_v more_o than_o needs_o look_v into_o your_o heart_n and_o affection_n and_o see_v whatsoever_o you_o find_v there_o that_o be_v more_o than_o ought_v to_o be_v run_v out_o unto_o any_o thing_n that_o they_o shall_v not_o labour_v to_o purge_v out_o that_o say_v he_o do_v not_o satisfy_v yourselves_o in_o any_o kind_n of_o evil_n whatsoever_o it_o may_v be_v you_o be_v cleanse_v from_o the_o notorious_a evil_n of_o the_o not_o only_o that_o that_o be_v filthy_a nast_a and_o abominable_a but_o if_o there_o be_v any_o thing_n that_o shall_v not_o be_v there_o a_o good_a heart_n be_v against_o it_o and_o that_o be_v a_o good_a heart_n that_o be_v willing_a to_o receive_v any_o thing_n that_o god_n reveal_v as_o we_o use_v to_o say_v such_o a_o
so_o all_o the_o week_n after_o they_o hold_v forth_o the_o word_n of_o god_n you_o that_o be_v servant_n it_o may_v be_v your_o master_n be_v naught_o and_o the_o family_n naught_o from_o whence_o you_o come_v now_o when_o you_o go_v home_o though_o it_o may_v be_v they_o will_v not_o let_v you_o repeat_v the_o sermon_n yet_o you_o be_v to_o hold_v forth_o the_o sermon_n in_o your_o practice_n and_o conversation_n how_o be_v the_o name_n of_o god_n glorify_v when_o we_o hold_v forth_o his_o word_n this_o be_v to_o let_v not_o only_o your_o light_n shine_v but_o the_o light_n of_o the_o word_n shine_v before_o man_n that_o they_o may_v behold_v it_o and_o glorify_v your_o father_n which_o be_v in_o heaven_n so_o that_o now_o put_v all_o these_o eleven_o particular_n together_o and_o expression_n in_o 2_o thess_n 3._o 1._o final_o brethren_n pray_v for_o we_o that_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n may_v have_v free_a course_n and_o be_v glorify_v even_o as_o it_o be_v with_o you_o this_o be_v the_o commendation_n of_o a_o people_n that_o they_o do_v glorify_v the_o word_n of_o god_n i_o beseech_v you_o brethren_n in_o the_o name_n of_o jesus_n christ_n this_o morning_n that_o you_o that_o be_v hearer_n of_o the_o word_n will_v glorify_v the_o word_n and_o glorify_v the_o name_n of_o god_n in_o the_o word_n oh_o that_o not_o one_o of_o you_o will_v be_v a_o disgrace_n or_o shame_n to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n this_o be_v the_o charge_n that_o god_n this_o morning_n lay_v upon_o you_o as_o ever_o you_o expect_v to_o receive_v any_o good_a from_o the_o word_n or_o to_o look_v upon_o the_o face_n of_o god_n with_o comfort_n who_o word_n this_o be_v do_v not_o be_v a_o shame_n to_o his_o word_n and_o to_o the_o minister_n of_o his_o word_n put_v all_o these_o thing_n together_o i_o say_v and_o learn_v to_o make_v conscience_n of_o sanctify_a god_n name_v in_o hear_v the_o word_n that_o so_o there_o may_v be_v none_o of_o you_o that_o may_v give_v any_o just_a occasion_n to_o other_o to_o say_v be_v this_o to_o hear_v sermon_n do_v you_o get_v nothing_o else_o but_o this_o by_o hear_v sermon_n if_o you_o shall_v open_v the_o mouth_n of_o man_n to_o say_v so_o of_o you_o the_o word_n of_o god_n as_o much_o as_o lie_v in_o you_o will_v be_v disgrace_v by_o you_o you_o shall_v rather_o think_v thus_o it_o be_v better_o for_o i_o that_o i_o shall_v die_v the_o word_n be_v that_o that_o have_v do_v good_a to_o my_o soul_n the_o word_n be_v that_o that_o i_o will_v not_o for_o ten_o thousand_o world_n but_o have_v hear_v it_o and_o shall_v i_o disgrace_v this_o word_n shall_v i_o give_v any_o occasion_n that_o this_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n shall_v be_v speak_v ill_o of_o by_o reason_n of_o i_o o_o god_n forbid_v therefore_o if_o you_o regard_v not_o yourselves_o and_o your_o own_o honour_n yet_o regard_v the_o honour_n of_o the_o word_n if_o ever_o you_o have_v get_v any_o good_a by_o the_o word_n you_o shall_v go_v away_o with_o this_o resolution_n well_o i_o will_v labour_v all_o the_o day_n of_o my_o life_n to_o honour_v this_o word_n of_o god_n that_o i_o have_v get_v so_o much_o good_a by_o if_o this_o be_v but_o the_o resolution_n of_o every_o one_o of_o your_o heart_n this_o morning_n it_o will_v be_v a_o bless_a morning_n work_n sermon_n x._o leviticus_n 10._o 3._o i_o will_v be_v sanctify_v in_o they_o that_o come_v nigh_o i_o now_o follow_v the_o reason_n why_o god_n stand_v so_o much_o 1645._o upon_o it_o that_o he_o will_v have_v his_o name_n sanctify_v in_o this_o ordinance_n of_o hear_v his_o word_n 1_o first_o it_o be_v because_o there_o be_v so_o much_o of_o god_n in_o his_o word_n and_o therefore_o we_o shall_v sanctify_v god_n name_n if_o it_o be_v possible_a there_o can_v be_v sin_n in_o heaven_n that_o sin_n will_v be_v great_a than_o sin_n commit_v here_o therefore_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o angel_n when_o they_o be_v in_o god_n presence_n in_o a_o more_o especial_a manner_n be_v the_o great_a the_o name_n of_o god_n be_v in_o any_o thing_n the_o great_a will_v be_v the_o evil_a if_o we_o do_v not_o sanctify_v god_n name_n in_o it_o now_o there_o be_v very_o much_o of_o god_n in_o his_o word_n more_o of_o god_n there_o then_o in_o all_o his_o work_n of_o creation_n and_o providence_n in_o ps_n 138._o 2._o thou_o have_v magnify_v thy_o word_n above_o all_o thy_o name_n there_o be_v therefore_o so_o much_o of_o god_n in_o his_o word_n we_o must_v sanctify_v the_o name_n of_o god_n in_o it_o 2_o second_o god_n have_v appoint_v his_o word_n to_o be_v the_o great_a ordinance_n to_o convey_v the_o special_a mercy_n that_o he_o intend_v for_o the_o good_a of_o his_o people_n that_o we_o speak_v to_o before_o in_o the_o general_a in_o show_v how_o the_o duty_n of_o god_n worship_n be_v as_o a_o channel_n for_o the_o conveyance_n of_o special_a good_a to_o the_o saint_n but_o none_o more_o than_o the_o word_n that_o be_v the_o ordinance_n to_o convey_v the_o first_o grace_n to_o those_o that_o belong_v to_o god_n election_n the_o sacrament_n be_v for_o frengthn_v and_o therefore_o there_o be_v rather_o more_o in_o the_o word_n then_o in_o the_o sacrament_n and_o yet_o every_o one_o think_v in_o conscience_n that_o he_o be_v bind_v to_o come_v careful_o to_o the_o sacrament_n and_o to_o look_v to_o sanctify_v god_n name_n there_o it_o be_v a_o easy_a matter_n to_o convince_v man_n and_o woman_n that_o they_o be_v bind_v to_o sanctify_v the_o name_n of_o god_n when_o they_o come_v to_o receive_v the_o holy_a communion_n then_o for_o the_o hear_n of_o the_o word_n they_o think_v not_o so_o much_o of_o that_o but_o certain_o the_o word_n be_v appoint_v to_o be_v a_o ordinance_n of_o convey_v more_o blessing_n than_o the_o sacrament_n because_o it_o be_v appoint_v to_o convey_v the_o first_o grace_n and_o to_o convey_v strength_n of_o grace_n as_o well_o as_o the_o sacrament_n now_o be_v appoint_v to_o convey_v such_o great_a thing_n to_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o elect_a both_o the_o first_o grace_n and_o strengthen_n of_o grace_n and_o comfort_n and_o assistance_n thereof_o the_o lord_n expect_v to_o have_v his_o name_n sanctify_v in_o it_o 3_o three_o the_o name_n of_o god_n must_v be_v sanctify_v in_o the_o word_n because_o the_o word_n be_v very_o quick_a and_o lively_a it_o work_v man_n or_o woman_n to_o life_n or_o death_n to_o salvation_n or_o damnation_n in_o heb._n 4._o 12._o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v quick_a and_o powerful_a and_o sharp_a than_o any_o two_o edge_a sword_n pierce_v even_o to_o the_o divide_v asunder_o of_o soul_n and_o spirit_n etc._n etc._n it_o be_v very_o quick_a of_o operation_n the_o text_n say_v that_o be_v when_o god_n have_v to_o deal_v with_o man_n by_o his_o word_n he_o will_v not_o stand_v dally_v and_o trifle_v with_o they_o but_o he_o be_v very_o quick_a with_o they_o either_o to_o bring_v their_o soul_n to_o life_n or_o to_o cast_v they_o away_o the_o time_n of_o man_n ignorance_n god_n wink_v at_o but_o now_o he_o call_v all_o man_n to_o repent_v let_v they_o look_v to_o it_o now_o god_n do_v forbear_v in_o the_o time_n of_o ignorance_n but_o he_o will_v not_o forbear_v so_o when_o the_o word_n come_v now_o be_v the_o axe_n lay_v to_o the_o root_n of_o the_o tree_n and_o when_o be_v that_o when_o john_n baptist_n come_v to_o preach_v repentance_n because_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n be_v at_o hand_n though_o the_o tree_n be_v barren_a before_o and_o do_v not_o bring_v forth_o good_a fruit_n yet_o it_o may_v stand_v still_o and_o not_o be_v cut_v down_o but_o when_o the_o powerful_a ministration_n of_o the_o word_n come_v than_o the_o axe_n be_v lay_v to_o the_o root_n of_o the_o tree_n either_o now_o come_v in_o and_o be_v save_v or_o resist_v the_o word_n and_o perish_v and_o therefore_o that_o be_v very_o observable_a when_o christ_n send_v out_o his_o disciple_n to_o preach_v in_o mark_n 16._o 15_o 16._o say_v he_o go_v you_o into_o all_o the_o world_n and_o preach_v the_o gospel_n to_o every_o creature_n and_o he_o that_o believe_v and_o be_v baptise_a shall_v be_v save_v but_o he_o that_o believe_v not_o shall_v be_v damn_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v there_o shall_v be_v quick_a
treasure_n that_o may_v be_v another_o sort_n to_o be_v rebuke_v be_v those_o who_o be_v so_o far_o from_o fall_v down_o before_o the_o lord_n to_o receive_v the_o word_n with_o meekness_n as_o they_o can_v bless_v themselves_o in_o their_o wicked_a way_n notwithstanding_o the_o word_n come_v and_o meet_v with_o they_o i_o only_o name_v this_o because_o of_o that_o notable_a scripture_n we_o have_v in_o deut._n 29_o 18_o 19_o say_v moses_n there_o to_o they_o take_v heed_n lest_o there_o shall_v be_v among_o you_o a_o root_n that_o bear_v gall_n and_o wormwood_n what_o be_v that_o root_n that_o bear_v gall_n and_o wormwood_n and_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v when_o he_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o this_o curse_n that_o he_o bless_v himself_o in_o his_o heart_n say_v i_o shall_v have_v peace_n though_o i_o walk_v in_o the_o imagination_n of_o my_o heart_n etc._n etc._n take_v heed_n there_o be_v not_o among_o you_o a_o root_n that_o bear_v gall_n and_o wormwood_n this_o be_v a_o bitter_a root_n in_o man_n heart_n when_o they_o can_v hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o have_v their_o heart_n rise_v against_o it_o and_o think_v with_o themselves_o that_o there_o be_v no_o such_o matter_n these_o be_v but_o mere_a word_n but_o mere_a wind_n let_v the_o minister_n say_v what_o he_o will_v and_o talk_v as_o long_o as_o he_o will_v i_o will_v go_v on_o in_o my_o way_n i_o shall_v do_v well_o enough_o that_o which_o he_o say_v it_o be_v but_o his_o opinion_n i_o say_v when_o man_n can_v bless_v themselves_o thus_o in_o their_o way_n and_o when_o there_o be_v such_o tumultuous_a and_o rebellious_a thought_n rise_v in_o their_o heart_n this_o be_v a_o root_n of_o gall_n and_o wormwood_n and_o take_v heed_n of_o it_o it_o will_v bring_v forth_o bitter_a fruit_n one_o day_n therefore_o i_o leave_v those_o and_o come_v to_o show_v what_o a_o fearful_a thing_n it_o be_v for_o man_n and_o woman_n not_o to_o sanctify_v the_o name_n of_o god_n in_o the_o hear_n of_o his_o word_n that_o so_o you_o may_v see_v that_o god_n will_v have_v his_o name_n sanctify_v upon_o they_o and_o they_o be_v these_o 1_o in_o the_o first_o place_n you_o that_o do_v not_o sanctify_v god_n name_n in_o hear_v his_o word_n in_o those_o way_n that_o have_v be_v open_v to_o you_o first_o you_o lose_v the_o great_a and_o happy_a opportunity_n of_o good_a that_o ever_o creature_n have_v for_o a_o outward_a opportunity_n indeed_o when_o god_n move_v by_o his_o spirit_n if_o that_o be_v neglect_v that_o opportunity_n be_v more_o than_o mere_o hear_v the_o word_n but_o otherwise_o except_o it_o be_v at_o such_o a_o time_n when_o god_n add_v his_o spirit_n together_o with_o his_o word_n i_o say_v you_o that_o be_v cast_v by_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n in_o such_o a_o place_n where_o the_o word_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v preach_v to_o you_o apply_v and_o urge_v upon_o you_o if_o you_o sanctify_v not_o the_o name_n of_o god_n to_o hear_v as_o you_o ought_v and_o to_o profit_n by_o the_o gospel_n and_o yet_o have_v not_o be_v acquaint_v with_o this_o mystery_n of_o godliness_n in_o sanctify_a god_n name_n in_o the_o word_n there_o be_v many_o thousand_o soul_n that_o be_v and_o shall_v be_v blessing_n god_n to_o all_o eternity_n for_o what_o of_o god_n they_o have_v meet_v with_o all_o in_o the_o word_n but_o thou_o have_v fifteen_o under_o it_o stupid_a as_o a_o block_n dead_a and_o barren_a and_o no_o good_a have_v be_v do_v wherefore_o be_v there_o a_o prize_n in_o the_o hand_n of_o a_o fool_n and_o he_o have_v no_o heart_n to_o get_v wisdom_n this_o will_v lie_v speak_v of_o those_o that_o do_v enjoy_v the_o word_n and_o yet_o do_v not_o sanctify_v god_n name_n in_o it_o whosoever_o shall_v not_o receive_v you_o say_v christ_n to_o his_o disciple_n nor_o hear_v your_o word_n when_o you_o depart_v out_o of_o that_o house_n or_o city_n shake_v off_o the_o dust_n of_o your_o foot_n very_o i_o say_v unto_o you_o it_o shall_v be_v more_o tolerable_a for_o loath_a to_o be_v in_o a_o worse_a condition_n than_o sodom_n and_o gomorah_n that_o be_v consume_v by_o fire_n from_o heaven_n and_o now_o suffer_v the_o vengeance_n of_o eternal_a fire_n judas_n 7._o certain_o they_o shall_v not_o be_v so_o deep_a in_o judgement_n as_o those_o that_o live_v under_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n and_o sanctify_v not_o the_o name_n of_o god_n in_o it_o your_o sin_n be_v of_o a_o deep_a dye_n than_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o heathen_n yea_o and_o in_o some_o respect_n then_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o devil_n they_o never_o have_v the_o word_n of_o the_o gospel_n send_v to_o be_v preach_v to_o they_o and_o therefore_o this_o will_v aggravate_v your_o sin_n not_o only_o beyond_o heathen_n but_o beyond_o devil_n look_v to_o it_o then_o that_o god_n
