be_v use_v in_o his_o church_n for_o the_o word_n be_v first_o to_o be_v hear_v and_o then_o baptism_n and_o the_o lord_n supper_n must_v be_v join_v thereto_o well_o unto_o the_o which_o thing_n the_o holy_a ghost_n come_v and_o deliver_v the_o ear_n and_o tongue_n from_o their_o bond_n that_o they_o may_v learn_v to_o avoid_v all_o sectary_n which_o despise_v the_o outward_a word_n and_o sacrament_n and_o look_v till_o god_n talk_v with_o they_o inward_o but_o christ_n say_v this_o be_v my_o fynger_n even_o the_o outward_a word_n this_o ought_v to_o sound_n in_o man_n ear_n this_o be_v my_o spittle_n wherewith_o their_o tongue_n must_v be_v touch_v and_o make_v moist_a then_o shall_v my_o work_n very_o well_o and_o prosperous_o proceed_v as_o you_o may_v see_v for_o where_o now_o a_o day_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o theym_n that_o ought_v to_o be_v most_o humble_a and_o most_o obediente_a and_o as_o in_o family_n so_o likewise_o in_o common_a wealth_n man_n be_v very_o negligent_a and_o slow_a to_o obey_v the_o officer_n what_o soever_o they_o ordain_v in_o a_o realm_n or_o city_n subject_n you_o shall_v find_v very_o few_o among_o so_o great_a multitude_n that_o will_v trewe_o and_o sincere_o execute_v the_o commandment_n of_o the_o magistrate_n the_o subject_n show_v more_o disobedience_n toward_o the_o high_a power_n in_o this_o time_n of_o this_o their_o so_o great_a knowledge_n than_o they_o dydde_v in_o the_o time_n of_o darkness_n ignorancie_n and_o blindness_n such_o be_v the_o wickedness_n and_o ingratitude_n of_o this_o our_o most_o wicked_a and_o pastor_n not_o only_o by_o rail_v unreverent_o of_o they_o day_n but_o also_o by_o take_v away_o unjust_o from_o they_o such_o tithe_n and_o duty_n as_o by_o publyke_a order_n be_v appoint_v unto_o they_o therefore_o a_o worthy_a pain_n follow_v even_o this_o that_o when_o the_o word_n of_o god_n pronounce_v by_o parent_n minister_n of_o the_o church_n and_o by_o magistrate_n be_v neglect_v &_o nothing_o set_v by_o the_o devil_n by_o little_a and_o little_o shall_v stop_v their_o ear_n more_o and_o more_o and_o tie_v their_o tongue_n streyght_a than_o it_o be_v afore_o and_o open_a to_o hear_v the_o dote_v dream_n of_o the_o sectary_n god_n and_o their_o false_a and_o divellyshe_a doctrine_n again_o to_o hear_v baudye_a ballad_n filthy_a fable_n trifle_v talk_n whorish_a word_n and_o such_o like_a as_o corrupt_v both_o body_n and_o soul_n it_o losen_v and_o set_v at_o liberty_n also_o their_o tongue_n to_o blaspheme_v god_n to_o slander_v their_o neighbour_n to_o lie_v to_o backbyte_v to_o rail_v to_o scoff_n to_o jest_n etc._n etc._n that_o it_o may_v be_v a_o offence_n to_o all_o good_a and_o godly_a man_n and_o this_o be_v a_o reward_n worthy_a such_o ingratitude_n unthankfulness_n ungentylnesse_n yea_o plain_a churlyshenesse_n and_o it_o worthy_o chance_v unto_o theym_n on_o such_o sort_n because_o they_o wish_v it_o to_o be_v none_o otherwise_o according_a to_o the_o doctrine_n thereof_o shall_v this_o our_o realm_n be_v a_o spoil_n to_o foreyne_a nation_n this_o have_v our_o ingratitude_n worthy_o deserve_v which_o be_v provoke_v so_o often_o with_o so_o many_o benefit_n at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n will_v notwithstanding_o not_o only_o not_o repent_v but_o also_o where_o as_o we_o ought_v to_o proceed_v from_o faith_n to_o faith_n and_o from_o virtue_n to_o virtue_n we_o go_v from_o vice_n to_o vice_n from_o sin_v to_o sin_n and_o so_o we_o cease_v not_o daily_o more_o and_o more_o to_o heap_v the_o hot_a wrath_n and_o most_o horrible_a vengeance_n of_o god_n upon_o we_o to_o the_o destruction_n of_o our_o country_n &_o unto_o the_o damnation_n of_o ourselves_o both_o body_n and_o soul_n and_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o christ_n look_v up_o to_o heaven_n mourn_v and_o as_o one_o great_o trouble_v say_v ephata_n be_v open_v for_o this_o great_o greve_v our_o saviour_n christ_n mournethe_v that_o where_o as_o the_o good_a pleasure_n and_o merciful_a will_n of_o god_n be_v to_o delyver_v we_o from_o the_o band_n of_o satan_n through_o the_o word_n we_o as_o people_n without_o all_o reason_n refuse_v our_o own_o salvation_n and_o through_o our_o contumacy_n and_o stubborness_n haste_v unto_o ourselves_o everla_a damnation_n and_o provoke_v the_o wrath_n and_o vengeance_n of_o god_n to_o fall_v upon_o us._n therefore_o let_v we_o consider_v well_o this_o miracle_n and_o follow_v the_o example_n of_o these_o good_a man_n gift_n which_o glorifye_v commend_v praise_n and_o magnifye_v christ_n affyrm_v embrace_v thou_o the_o word_n for_o this_o be_v the_o next_o and_o most_o certain_a way_n that_o our_o ear_n may_v be_v open_v our_o tongue_n losen_v and_o we_o ourselves_o at_o the_o last_o obtain_v everlasting_a salvation_n which_o thing_n our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n christ_n jesu_n
the_o marriage_n that_o be_v they_o put_v this_o people_n in_o a_o sure_a hope_n that_o christ_n will_v set_v forth_o the_o gospel_n throughout_o all_o the_o world_n and_o procure_v that_o remission_n of_o sin_n and_o everlasting_a life_n shall_v be_v preach_v in_o his_o name_n to_o this_o ought_v man_n to_o be_v exhort_v and_o they_o shall_v wait_v for_o the_o gospel_n and_o trust_v in_o it_o that_o they_o may_v be_v save_v by_o christ._n but_o christ_n say_v here_o they_o will_v not_o come_v as_o the_o jew_n in_o the_o desert_n will_v have_v return_v into_o egypt_n after_o that_o he_o send_v other_o servant_n when_o the_o time_n of_o christ_n come_n be_v which_o shall_v open_v himself_o with_o teaching_n with_o miracle_n and_o great_a wonder_n for_o john_n and_o christ_n disciple_n say_v that_o all_o thing_n be_v ready_a and_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o lack_v but_o that_o they_o shall_v make_v themselves_o ready_a to_o the_o marriage_n but_o they_o can_v not_o be_v will_v never_o so_o gredilye_o have_v go_v to_o their_o farm_n or_o merchandise_n and_o utter_o set_v at_o naught_o so_o noble_a a_o marriage_n but_o this_o be_v always_o the_o state_n of_o the_o gospel_n as_o often_o as_o it_o be_v preach_v the_o world_n wax_v worse_a than_o it_o be_v before_o they_o use_v no_o such_o merchandyse_n before_o but_o as_o soon_o as_o this_o call_n to_o the_o gospel_n be_v set_v up_o they_o fall_v to_o merchandyse_n with_o all_o their_o study_n it_o can_v not_o be_v otherwise_o wherefore_o let_v no_o man_n be_v offend_v for_o these_o present_a manner_n for_o that_o they_o geve_v themselves_o so_o to_o covetousness_n both_o in_o the_o city_n and_o also_o in_o the_o country_n for_o that_o they_o be_v so_o insolent_a and_o proud_a and_o handle_v their_o shepherd_n and_n curate_n which_o call_v theym_a to_o this_o feast_n more_o unwoorthy_o than_o they_o handle_v other_o man_n let_v no_o man_n think_v that_o this_o perverse_a manner_n shall_v have_v good_a success_n neither_o will_v i_o hope_v for_o much_o better_a state_n than_o other_o have_v let_v not_o this_o offence_n move_v thou_o much_o for_o it_o be_v the_o long_a sufferance_n and_o patience_n of_o god_n yet_o will_v he_o not_o suffer_v it_o to_o escape_v unpunysh_v so_o now_o god_n can_v suffer_v man_n in_o their_o licentious_a lyve_n god_n to_o despise_v the_o gospel_n and_o faithful_a warnynge_n to_o bring_v in_o the_o dearthe_n of_o all_o thing_n to_o increase_v their_o own_o substance_n he_o wynk_v at_o this_o and_o make_v as_o though_o he_o see_v it_o not_o but_o whenne_n god_n shall_v send_v the_o pestilence_n that_o man_n may_v dye_v and_o fall_v down_o as_o fly_n or_o leave_v in_o the_o harueste_n whenne_n he_o shall_v stir_v up_o battle_n so_o that_o the_o violent_a soldier_n shall_v break_v into_o thy_o house_n and_o destroy_v all_o thing_n and_o beat_v thou_o and_o handle_v thy_o wife_n and_o child_n vilainous_o â–ª_o before_o thy_o face_n whenne_v thou_o shall_v cry_v out_o at_o their_o cruel_a do_n and_o complain_v of_o the_o great_a wrath_n of_o god._n then_o shall_v it_o appear_v what_o god_n thynk_v of_o thy_o avarice_n insolence_n and_o great_a madness_n for_o thenne_n shall_v thou_o be_v reprove_v on_o this_o wise_n if_o thou_o can_v despise_v the_o counsel_n of_o god_n before_o thoroughe_o thy_o covetousness_n and_o insolencye_n now_o must_v thou_o hold_v thyself_o content_a with_o these_o thing_n which_o thou_o haste_v stir_v upon_o thou_o by_o thy_o licentious_a and_o long_o outrageous_a lyve_v for_o god_n suffer_v not_o himself_o to_o be_v mock_v long_o wherefore_o man_n may_v do_v well_o if_o they_o will_v cease_v betyme_o and_o amend_v as_o god_n word_n do_v diligent_o exhort_v we_o to_o do_v but_o we_o will_v have_v licence_n to_o do_v both_o even_o now_o to_o despise_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o to_o follow_v our_o lust_n and_o yet_o that_o god_n shall_v abstain_v from_o punish_v us._n hate_n and_o other_o vice_n all_o these_o be_v sin_n yet_o be_v all_o these_o thing_n nothing_o in_o comparison_n of_o this_o sin_n be_v which_o be_v contemn_v of_o god_n word_n and_o yet_o it_o be_v the_o most_o common_a sin_n to_o be_v give_v to_o avarice_n to_o steal_v to_o commit_v whoredom_n and_o fornication_n be_v not_o so_o common_a sin_n for_o all_o the_o world_n be_v in_o danger_n of_o this_o sin_n the_o citizen_n and_o husbandemed_a set_v not_o this_o much_o by_o the_o gospel_n all_o sleep_v at_o this_o service_n as_o a_o man_n may_v see_v in_o the_o church_n when_o one_o look_v this_o way_n a_o other_o that_o way_n and_o in_o so_o great_a a_o multitude_n scarce_o ten_o or_o twelve_o come_v to_o thintente_a to_o learn_v any_o thing_n yea_o and_o furthermore_o beside_o all_o this_o this_o encrese_v the_o matter_n also_o that_o it_o be_v such_o a_o common_a sin_n so_o deathlyke_o so_o grevous_a so_o hellyshe_a and_o divellyshe_a that_o it_o can_v not_o be_v note_v as_o other_o sin_n be_v all_o count_v this_o for_o a_o light_n matter_n to_o be_v present_a at_o a_o sermon_n and_o to_o take_v no_o heed_n yea_o rather_o a_o great_a part_n geve_v themselves_o to_o bouse_v and_o byb_v in_o time_n of_o the_o sermon_n and_o regard_v it_o not_o and_o think_v it_o no_o matter_n at_o all_o no_o man_n be_v move_v with_o this_o no_o man_n be_v greve_v therefore_o that_o man_n be_v so_o cold_o affect_v with_o the_o word_n but_o it_o be_v not_o so_o in_o other_o sin_n for_o other_o sin_n as_o slaughter_n adultery_n theft_n etc._n etc._n do_v make_v man_n oftentimes_o contrite_a and_o sorrowful_a so_o that_o they_o will_v wish_v it_o undo_v for_o no_o man_n can_v count_v these_o thing_n well_o do_v but_o not_o to_o hear_v the_o word_n diligent_o to_o despise_v it_o to_o persecute_v it_o no_o man_n count_v these_o matter_n of_o conscience_n heed_n wherefore_o it_o be_v such_o a_o sin_n for_o the_o which_o impery_z commonalty_n and_o city_n must_v be_v destroy_v for_o when_o it_o be_v not_o acknowledge_v nor_o receive_v no_o repentance_n or_o amendment_n of_o life_n can_v ensue_v so_o chance_v it_o therefore_o to_o all_o kyngedome_n and_o to_o jerusalem_n and_o england_n also_o shall_v grevous_o be_v punysh_v for_o this_o sin_n for_o this_o sin_n cry_v daily_o to_o god_n neither_o do_v it_o suffer_v god_n to_o rest_v before_o he_o say_v wherefore_o if_o the_o eye_n be_v single_a all_o the_o body_n shall_v be_v full_a of_o light_n but_o and_o if_o thy_o eye_n be_v wicked_a 6._o all_o thy_o body_n shall_v be_v full_a of_o darkness_n
