endeavour_v to_o show_v against_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n that_o in_o this_o sacrament_n there_o be_v no_o substantial_a change_n make_v of_o the_o element_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n into_o the_o all_o the_o sense_n and_o reason_n of_o mankind_n it_o be_v a_o most_o self-evident_a falsehood_n and_o there_o be_v no_o doctrine_n or_o proposition_n in_o the_o world_n that_o be_v of_o itself_o more_o evident_o true_a than_o transubstantiation_n be_v evident_o false_a and_o yet_o if_o it_o be_v possible_a to_o be_v true_a it_o will_v be_v the_o most_o ill-natured_a and_o pernicious_a truth_n in_o the_o world_n because_o it_o will_v suffer_v nothing_o else_o to_o be_v true_a it_o be_v like_o the_o roman-catholique_a church_n which_o will_v needs_o be_v the_o whole_a christian_a church_n they_o otherwise_o first_o that_o there_o be_v no_o necessity_n to_o understand_v those_o word_n of_o our_o saviour_n in_o the_o sense_n of_o transubstantiation_n if_o there_o be_v any_o it_o must_v be_v from_o one_o of_o these_o two_o reason_n either_o because_o there_o be_v no_o figurative_a expression_n in_o scripture_n which_o i_o think_v no_o man_n ever_o yet_o say_v or_o else_o because_o a_o sacrament_n admit_v of_o no_o figure_n which_o will_v be_v very_o absurd_a for_o any_o man_n to_o say_v since_o it_o be_v of_o the_o very_a nature_n of_o a_o sacrament_n to_o represent_v and_o exhibit_v some_o invisible_a grace_n and_o benefit_n by_o a_o outward_a sign_n and_o figure_n and_o especial_o since_o it_o can_v be_v deny_v but_o that_o in_o the_o institution_n of_o this_o very_a sacrament_n our_o saviour_n use_v figurative_a expression_n and_o several_a word_n which_o can_v be_v take_v strict_o and_o literal_o when_o he_o give_v the_o cup_n he_o say_v this_o cup_n be_v the_o new_a testament_n in_o my_o blood_n which_o be_v shed_v for_o you_o and_o for_o many_o for_o the_o remission_n of_o sin_n where_o first_o the_o cup_n be_v put_v for_o wine_n contain_v in_o the_o cup_n or_o else_o if_o the_o word_n be_v literal_o take_v so_o as_o to_o signify_v a_o substantial_a change_n it_o be_v not_o of_o the_o wine_n but_o of_o the_o cup_n and_o that_o not_o into_o the_o blood_n which_o be_v not_o till_o his_o passion_n which_o follow_v the_o institution_n and_o first_o celebration_n of_o this_o sacrament_n but_o that_o there_o be_v no_o necessity_n to_o understand_v our_o saviour_n word_n in_o the_o sense_n of_o transubstantiation_n i_o will_v take_v the_o plain_a concession_n of_o a_o great_a number_n of_o the_o most_o
