impossible_a for_o she_o to_o err_v and_o lest_o her_o error_n shall_v be_v discover_v by_o the_o glorious_a light_n of_o god_n holy_a word_n the_o writing_n of_o the_o prophet_n and_o apostle_n she_o do_v not_o only_o hinder_v the_o people_n from_o read_v the_o word_n and_o read_v it_o in_o the_o church_n in_o a_o language_n which_o the_o people_n understand_v not_o but_o endeavour_n also_o to_o take_v away_o all_o its_o force_n and_o authority_n for_o they_o make_v the_o people_n believe_v that_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n be_v sovereign_a judge_n in_o all_o matter_n of_o difference_n in_o religion_n by_o this_o mean_v he_o that_o will_v accuse_v the_o church_n of_o rome_n of_o any_o error_n may_v be_v sure_a to_o loose_v his_o process_n see_v she_o alone_o be_v sovereign_a judge_n in_o she_o own_o cause_n the_o church_n of_o rome_n do_v likewise_o affirm_v that_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o she_o to_o err_v in_o the_o interpretation_n of_o the_o holy_a scripture_n and_o that_o it_o be_v in_o her_o power_n to_o make_v construction_n of_o the_o like_a authority_n with_o the_o word_n of_o god_n which_o be_v indeed_o no_o less_o than_o to_o place_v herself_o in_o god_n seat_n for_o there_o be_v nothing_o more_o certain_a than_o that_o such_o a_o interpreter_n be_v great_a than_o the_o lawgiver_n since_o he_o give_v unto_o the_o law_n such_o a_o sense_n as_o he_o please_v and_o the_o people_n teach_v to_o rely_v more_o on_o that_o then_o on_o the_o law_n itself_o and_o to_o be_v sure_a that_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n be_v not_o any_o way_n subject_n unto_o the_o holy_a scripture_n they_o maintain_v that_o it_o be_v the_o church_n that_o do_v authorise_v the_o scripture_n and_o which_o give_v it_o all_o its_o power_n and_o authority_n as_o if_o the_o subject_n can_v give_v authority_n unto_o law_n or_o as_o if_o the_o word_n of_o god_n do_v receive_v its_o authority_n from_o man_n to_o this_o end_n the_o doctor_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n say_v that_o the_o church_n be_v more_o ancient_a than_o the_o holy_a scripture_n but_o do_v it_o therefore_o follow_v that_o the_o church_n must_v be_v above_o the_o scripture_n the_o people_n be_v they_o not_o many_o of_o they_o old_a than_o the_o king_n yet_o be_v they_o nevertheless_o subject_a both_o to_o the_o king_n and_o to_o his_o law_n however_o there_o be_v many_o doctrine_n in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n more_o ancient_a than_o the_o church_n but_o say_v they_o we_o shall_v not_o know_v that_o it_o be_v the_o scripture_n if_o the_o church_n do_v not_o tell_v we_o so_o but_o do_v it_o follow_v thence_o have_v regard_n to_o seat_n and_o succession_n the_o church_n of_o greece_n have_v also_o have_v their_o seat_n since_o the_o apostle_n and_o the_o church_n of_o syria_n they_o and_o brag_v of_o s._n peter_n chair_n and_o yet_o all_o these_o be_v quite_o contrary_a to_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n and_o indeed_o more_o ancient_a jesus_n christ_n himself_o and_o his_o apostle_n have_v preach_v there_o and_o be_v the_o first_o institutour_n of_o they_o we_o do_v not_o here_o dispute_v of_o s._n peter_n superiority_n over_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o apostle_n he_o may_v be_v the_o first_o in_o order_n authority_n or_o virtue_n and_o yet_o not_o have_v any_o superiority_n of_o jurisdiction_n but_o that_o matter_n not_o the_o question_n be_v whether_o the_o pope_n of_o rome_n be_v s._n peter_n successor_n as_o the_o head_n of_o the_o universal_a church_n which_o be_v the_o principal_a point_n of_o the_o papist_n religion_n whereof_o nevertheless_o there_o be_v not_o one_o word_n speak_v in_o all_o the_o scripture_n the_o bishop_n of_o corinth_n and_o thessalonica_n be_v saint_n paul_n successor_n not_o as_o apostle_n but_o as_o particular_a bishop_n of_o those_o city_n so_o the_o question_n be_v not_o whither_o the_o aforesaid_a bishop_n of_o rome_n be_v saint_n peter_n successor_n in_o the_o bishopric_n of_o rome_n but_o whether_o he_o succeed_v he_o in_o the_o conclude_v there_o be_v but_o one_o holy_a scripture_n and_o there_o be_v many_o contrary_a church_n and_o the_o doctor_n of_o these_o church_n be_v apt_a to_o seek_v their_o own_o profit_n and_o subject_a to_o be_v carry_v away_o with_o diverse_a evil_a affection_n but_o the_o holy_a scripture_n be_v a_o incorruptible_a judge_n let_v we_o have_v recourse_n to_o this_o holy_a word_n of_o god_n in_o the_o which_o if_o there_o be_v any_o obscurity_n there_o be_v
accuse_v god_n almighty_a of_o injustice_n to_o think_v that_o he_o inflict_v more_o punishment_n on_o any_o man_n then_o his_o sin_n do_v deserve_v it_o be_v not_o to_o know_v the_o greatness_n of_o sin_n and_o to_o be_v ignorant_a of_o the_o punishment_n due_a thereunto_o to_o conceive_v that_o a_o few_o fast_n and_o scourge_n or_o any_o misery_n that_o be_v to_o be_v endure_v in_o this_o life_n shall_v be_v in_o danger_n of_o hellfire_n and_o if_o the_o satisfaction_n of_o jesus_n christ_n be_v sufficient_a for_o the_o punishment_n due_a to_o all_o our_o sin_n what_o need_v we_o the_o satisfaction_n of_o saint_n why_o shall_v we_o think_v that_o god_n will_v take_v two_o payment_n for_o one_o and_o the_o same_o debt_n when_o the_o first_o be_v sufficient_a moreover_o god_n reward_v transubstantiation_n if_o there_o be_v none_o other_o abuse_n in_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n save_v only_o this_o one_o error_n of_o transubstantiation_n it_o be_v of_o itself_o sufficient_a to_o drive_v away_o from_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n any_o man_n that_o be_v careful_a for_o the_o salvation_n of_o his_o soul_n the_o holy_a scripture_n declare_v that_o no_o idolater_n shall_v enter_v that_o we_o have_v he_o no_o more_o visible_o i_o reply_v that_o to_o have_v jesus_n christ_n invisible_o be_v nevertheless_o to_o have_v he_o that_o man_n shall_v lie_v that_o shall_v say_v he_o saviour_n take_v the_o cup_n and_o bless_v it_o and_o give_v it_o to_o his_o disciple_n say_v drink_v you_o all_o of_o this_o now_o if_o in_o these_o word_n drink_v you_o all_o of_o this_o our_o saviour_n speak_v to_o none_o but_o the_o pastor_n or_o minister_n of_o the_o church_n it_o must_v consequent_o follow_v that_o the_o commandment_n to_o eat_v which_o be_v in_o the_o aforegoing_a
