can_v be_v call_v a_o mother_n church_n yet_o it_o may_v be_v true_o call_v a_o nource_a church_n to_o many_o neighbour_n church_n round_o about_o us._n as_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n do_v not_o therefore_o separate_v themselves_o or_o refuse_v to_o join_v with_o they_o in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n because_o of_o the_o corruption_n in_o this_o church_n at_o jerusalem_n but_o do_v teach_v scripture_n to_o interpret_v themselves_o and_o to_o show_v what_o be_v the_o true_a sense_n of_o the_o scripture_n though_o they_o be_v dumb_a and_o as_o we_o see_v that_o a_o man_n may_v aswell_o show_v his_o mind_n to_o his_o friend_n by_o letter_n and_o writing_n as_o by_o word_n of_o mouth_n even_o so_o the_o lord_n god_n speak_v now_o to_o his_o people_n by_o the_o scripture_n as_o well_o as_o he_o do_v in_o old_a time_n by_o his_o own_o lively_a voice_n from_o heaven_n but_o if_o the_o papist_n will_v yet_o deny_v the_o scripture_n to_o have_v power_n to_o judge_v and_o determine_v of_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o scripture_n then_o will_v i_o know_v who_o have_v this_o power_n give_v unto_o he_o they_o answer_v the_o church_n must_v give_v judgement_n and_o determine_v of_o the_o have_v get_v his_o purpose_n and_o prevail_v thus_o far_o to_o bring_v a_o man_n into_o sin_n than_o he_o will_v lay_v it_o open_v in_o most_o ugly_a manner_n and_o lay_v before_o a_o poor_a sinner_n the_o horror_n and_o punishment_n due_a to_o his_o sin_n that_o so_o he_o may_v make_v a_o poor_a sinner_n break_v the_o neck_n of_o his_o soul_n in_o despair_n further_o mark_v how_o the_o cunning_a devil_n show_v not_o these_o goodly_a and_o glorious_a sight_n in_o the_o first_o or_o second_o temptation_n but_o reserve_v they_o for_o the_o last_o and_o that_o in_o great_a subtlety_n for_o the_o devil_n know_v very_o well_o that_o if_o any_o will_v pervaile_v then_o sure_o the_o desire_n of_o honour_n of_o preferment_n of_o profit_n and_o pleasure_n will_v move_v the_o heart_n of_o christ._n merchant_n for_o hope_n of_o gain_n do_v carry_v over_o to_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n all_o such_o merchandise_n of_o wax_n etc._n etc._n as_o the_o papist_n use_v to_o maintain_v their_o superstition_n and_o idolatry_n and_o among_o common_a professor_n many_o of_o they_o to_o save_v their_o land_n live_n and_o place_n have_v change_v as_o religion_n have_v change_v now_o papist_n now_o protestant_n like_v to_o chameleon_n into_o any_o colour_n of_o this_o we_o have_v experience_n in_o queen_n mary_n day_n few_o great_a man_n remain_v protestant_n but_o yee_v to_o the_o idolatry_n of_o those_o time_n this_o three_o temptation_n have_v two_o part_n first_o a_o promise_n second_o a_o condition_n and_o here_o the_o devil_n say_v not_o i_o will_v procure_v thou_o these_o thing_n at_o god_n hand_n but_o in_o his_o ow_v name_n i_o will_v give_v thou_o all_o these_o to_o make_v chrit_n depend_v upon_o he_o for_o they_o to_o trust_v in_o he_o and_o to_o deny_v his_o confidence_n in_o god_n and_o to_o rely_v upon_o the_o devil_n for_o a_o inheritance_n in_o this_o world_n in_o which_o vile_a practice_n of_o the_o devil_n we_o may_v behold_v his_o shameless_a boldness_n who_o dare_v offer_n christ_n the_o gift_n of_o all_o these_o conditional_o if_o he_o will_v worship_v he_o whereas_o indeed_o they_o do_v all_o most_o proper_o belong_v to_o jesus_n christ_n himself_o and_o be_v his_o own_o neither_o have_v satan_n any_o title_n to_o they_o but_o only_o by_o usurpation_n and_o as_o the_o devil_n here_o with_o christ_n so_o he_o deal_v with_o most_o man_n of_o the_o world_n to_o tempt_v they_o to_o depend_v upon_o he_o for_o the_o wealth_n of_o the_o world_n and_o to_o make_v the_o devil_n their_o god_n for_o though_o man_n deny_v this_o in_o word_n and_o say_v all_z they_o have_v god_n have_v send_v it_o they_o thank_v god_n yet_o their_o wicked_a practice_n show_v the_o contrary_a that_o they_o do_v indeed_o depend_v upon_o the_o devil_n for_o gain_v and_o profit_n see_v most_o man_n get_v their_o good_n by_o false_a waightâ—_n and_o measure_n by_o deceit_n fraud_n cousinage_n by_o lie_v swear_v &_o forswear_v now_o while_o they_o get_v that_o they_o have_v thus_o by_o such_o vile_a and_o wicked_a mean_n it_o plain_o show_v that_o all_o they_o have_v they_o have_v it_o of_o the_o devil_n &_o depend_v upon_o he_o for_o wealth_n &_o so_o make_v he_o their_o god_n though_o in_o word_n they_o deny_v it_o never_o so_o much_o second_o the_o devil_n know_v christ_n be_v a_o king_n and_o that_o his_o kingdom_n be_v not_o of_o this_o world_n but_o spiritual_a exercise_v especial_o in_o man_n conscience_n now_o the_o devil_n he_o labour_v to_o tempt_v christ_n to_o become_v a_o earthly_a king_n which_o if_o it_o have_v take_v place_n in_o christ_n he_o know_v then_o that_o he_o can_v not_o be_v that_o true_a messiah_n who_o shall_v reign_v spriritual_o in_o man_n conscience_n and_o in_o like_a manner_n deal_v the_o devil_n with_o the_o member_n of_o christ_n for_o the_o church_n of_o god_n have_v a_o kingdom_n and_o that_o be_v spiritual_a in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n now_o the_o stewardship_n be_v the_o dispensation_n and_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n preach_v and_o against_o this_o the_o devil_n labour_v that_o it_o may_v become_v a_o earthly_a kingdom_n not_o spiritual_a but_o carnal_a not_o in_o that_o we_o may_v be_v contrary_a to_o the_o devil_n and_o therefore_o that_o we_o do_v wary_o consider_v what_o promise_v we_o make_v whether_o the_o thing_n we_o promise_v be_v lawful_a and_o in_o our_o own_o power_n and_o that_o we_o do_v it_o with_o sincere_a heart_n void_a of_o deceit_n and_o with_o purpose_n to_o be_v as_o good_a as_o our_o word_n and_o when_o we_o have_v promise_v according_o to_o perform_v our_o promise_n 4._o for_o that_o be_v a_o mark_n of_o god_n child_n 25._o and_o a_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o true_a faith_n in_o do_v the_o duty_n of_o equity_n
