particular_n as_o whether_o such_o or_o such_o a_o book_n of_o scripture_n be_v god_n word_n or_o be_v write_v by_o a_o heavenly-inspired_n author_n whether_o such_o a_o particular_a point_n of_o faith_n be_v to_o be_v state_v thus_o or_o so_o whether_o such_o be_v certain_o the_o meaning_n of_o some_o particular_a place_n of_o scripture_n here_o i_o say_v where_o there_o be_v contradiction_n and_o doubt_n between_o party_n few_o there_o be_v who_o will_v offer_v to_o plead_v such_o assurance_n from_o the_o spirit_n as_o that_o they_o can_v be_v mistake_v but_o labour_v to_o inform_v themselves_o as_o well_o as_o other_o the_o best_a they_o can_v from_o other_o reason_n and_o indeed_o do_v the_o spirit_n thus_o always_o bear_v witness_n to_o itself_o have_v we_o any_o such_o internal_a assurance_n ordinary_o for_o extraordinary_a assurance_n of_o it_o happen_v to_o some_o great_a saint_n of_o god_n in_o very_a many_o thing_n i_o deny_v not_o i_o mean_v not_o of_o the_o belief_n of_o the_o thing_n but_o that_o such_o belief_n of_o the_o thing_n come_v from_o the_o spirit_n there_o need_v no_o more_o confirmation_n of_o any_o point_n either_o from_o church_n or_o universal_a tradition_n or_o collation_n of_o other_o scripture_n or_o any_o other_o way_n but_o this_o for_o thus_o though_o some_o man_n may_v profess_v a_o error_n against_o conscience_n yet_o err_v in_o very_a deed_n in_o matter_n of_o divine_a faith_n none_o can_v for_o know_v that_o the_o spirit_n operation_n be_v necessary_a to_o all_o true_a faith_n and_o know_v again_o when_o it_o operate_v he_o may_v be_v sure_a that_o that_o which_o it_o operate_v not_o be_v no_o true_a faith_n but_o this_o sufficient_o argue_v that_o there_o be_v no_o such_o ordinary_a effect_n thereof_o in_o that_o the_o pretender_n of_o the_o spirit_n so_o frequent_o by_o this_o spirit_n contradict_v one_o another_o and_o indeed_o this_o arrogant_a persuasion_n and_o ultimate_a refuge_n of_o singularity_n have_v be_v the_o great_a source_n of_o all_o heresy_n and_o schism_n by_o reason_n of_o man_n depart_v from_o tradition_n and_o from_o the_o church_n upon_o confidence_n of_o this_o therefore_o we_o conclude_v a_o man_n may_v believe_v by_o the_o efficiency_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o yet_o not_o certain_o know_v its_o efficiency_n and_o may_v know_v that_o by_o it_o he_o believe_v all_o which_o he_o true_o believe_v in_o divine_a matter_n and_o yet_o not_o know_v that_o by_o it_o he_o believe_v such_o or_o such_o a_o particular_a thing_n so_o that_o though_o this_o be_v lay_v for_o a_o ground_n that_o all_o true_a faith_n be_v the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n yet_o we_o must_v by_o scripture_n or_o in_o thing_n doubtful_a by_o the_o church_n traditionary_a exposition_n thereof_o first_o know_v our_o faith_n to_o be_v true_a and_o thence_o by_o consequence_n gather_v that_o it_o be_v the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n not_o è_fw-la contra_fw-la argue_v
