be_v a_o great_a earthquake_n rise_v again_o and_o not_o long_o after_o be_v receive_v up_o to_o heaven_n in_o a_o cloud_n to_o all_o which_o who_o see_v not_o a_o plain_a allusion_n intend_v when_o in_o the_o description_n of_o these_o witness_n suffering_n and_o after_o restauration_n you_o have_v mention_n of_o the_o like_a death_n earthquake_n resurrection_n and_o ascend_v up_o to_o heaven_n in_o a_o cloud_n also_o so_o that_o if_o before_o in_o what_o they_o do_v they_o be_v like_o zerubbabel_n and_o jeshua_n moses_n and_o elias_n moses_n and_o aron_n here_o for_o what_o they_o suffer_v and_o the_o sequel_n they_o be_v clear_o resemble_v to_o that_o faithful_a and_o true_a witness_n jesus_n 14._o cha._n 5._o 14._o christ_n this_o much_o in_o the_o gross_a but_o look_v more_o particular_o and_o you_o shall_v find_v in_o what_o be_v mention_v of_o these_o witness_n suffering_n such_o special_o observable_a as_o these_o 1._o there_o be_v war_n wage_v with_o these_o witness_n and_o the_o consequent_a the_o witness_n overcome_v and_o kill_v 2._o the_o enemy_n that_o wage_n this_o war_n the_o beast_n that_o ascend_v out_o of_o the_o bottomless_a pit_n 3._o the_o time_n last_o verse_n the_o dragon_n who_o substitute_n this_o beast_n and_o on_o who_o he_o estate_n his_o power_n throne_n and_o great_a authority_n himself_n be_v now_o no_o long_o able_a to_o hold_v they_o in_o his_o own_o name_n as_o soon_o as_o ever_o the_o woman_n be_v escape_v into_o the_o wilderness_n which_o be_v now_o several_a hundred_o year_n ago_o he_o go_v forth_o under_o covert_n of_o this_o beast_n to_o make_v war_n with_o the_o remnant_n of_o her_o seed_n which_o keep_v the_o ult_n chapl_n 12._o verse_n ult_n commandment_n of_o god_n and_o have_v the_o testimony_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o sure_o the_o event_n show_v as_o much_o when_o above_o four_o hundred_o year_n ago_o in_o that_o one_o kingdom_n of_o gaul_n now_o call_v france_n if_o perionius_n may_v be_v believe_v at_o least_o ten_o hundred_o thousand_o of_o those_o godly_a waldenses_n and_o albigenses_n be_v butcher_v by_o this_o beast_n and_o can_v we_o imagine_v so_o many_o saint_n slay_v and_o none_o of_o these_o witness_n among_o all_o these_o number_n this_o war_n then_o here_o mention_v suppose_v not_o the_o witness_n untouched_a all_o the_o time_n of_o their_o pprophecy_n before_o but_o rather_o seem_v to_o hold_v forth_o some_o eminent_a war_n now_o at_o last_o to_o be_v raise_v against_o they_o which_o perhaps_o because_o it_o shall_v differ_v from_o all_o the_o former_a in_o the_o antichrist_n suppress_v for_o a_o time_n but_o afterward_o they_o break_v forth_o in_o great_a lustre_n and_o brightness_n then_o ever_o they_o do_v before_o 2._o do_v the_o popish_a faction_n become_v great_o afraid_a upon_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o witness_n then_o observe_v it_o the_o rise_n of_o the_o witness_n be_v the_o fall_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o popish_a party_n when_o the_o witness_n fall_v before_o than_o they_o rejoice_v and_o make_v merry_a can_v contain_v themselves_o but_o now_o they_o rise_v their_o heart_n fall_v every_o whit_n as_o fast_o within_o they_o just_a like_o the_o scale_n of_o the_o balance_n if_o one_o rise_v the_o other_o fall_v so_o inconsistent_a be_v the_o prosperous_a condition_n of_o the_o one_o with_o the_o content_n and_o satisfaction_n of_o the_o other_o verse_n 12._o and_o they_o hear_v a_o great_a voice_n from_o heaven_n say_v unto_o they_o come_v up_o hither_o and_o they_o ascend_v up_o to_o heaven_n in_o a_o cloud_n and_o their_o enemy_n behold_v they_o we_o have_v do_v with_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o witness_n in_o the_o word_n last_o handle_v now_o follow_v their_o ascension_n to_o heaven_n in_o these_o word_n and_o they_o hear_v a_o great_a voice_n from_o ●eaven_n say_v come_v up_o hither_o etc._n etc._n in_o which_o for_o method_n sake_n i_o shall_v observe_v 1._o a_o voice_n call_v they_o in_o particular_a give_v i_o leave_v to_o premise_v this_o much_o in_o the_o general_a concern_v all_o of_o they_o and_o it_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o what_o have_v several_a time_n for_o the_o substance_n be_v already_o inculcate_v viz._n this_o ascension_n and_o so_o the_o severall_n thereto_o appertain_v be_v not_o to_o be_v understand_v in_o the_o letter_n as_o though_o the_o witness_n after_o their_o resurrection_n shall_v now_o indeed_o and_o in_o the_o letter_n ascend_v up_o to_o heaven_n by_o no_o mean_n it_o seem_v at_o no_o hand_n to_o be_v imagine_v but_o as_o we_o show_v their_o death_n be_v a_o mystical_a death_n their_o resurrection_n a_o mystical_a resurrection_n so_o now_o in_o like_a manner_n we_o say_v their_o ascension_n must_v be_v a_o mystical_a ascension_n also_o how_o can_v we_o conceive_v their_o death_n a_o mystical_a death_n a_o kill_n
