thereby_o deceive_v their_o own_o soul_n vii_o the_o sluggard_n be_v one_o that_o love_v not_o to_o encounter_v with_o difficulty_n he_o can_v abide_v to_o think_v of_o endure_v a_o little_a hardship_n the_o sluggard_n will_v not_o plough_v by_o reason_n of_o the_o cold._n 4_o prov._n 20_o 4_o vii_o the_o spiritual_a sluggard_n love_v his_o ease_n if_o religion_n can_v be_v own_v profess_a and_o stick_v to_o unless_o a_o man_n offer_v some_o force_n as_o it_o be_v unto_o himself_o and_o expose_v the_o flesh_n to_o some_o hardship_n he_o present_o grow_v weary_a of_o it_o he_o can_v in_o the_o morning_n go_v to_o prayer_n because_o his_o worldly_a business_n call_v for_o he_o or_o perhaps_o it_o be_v cold_a or_o he_o be_v indispose_v etc._n etc._n and_o perhaps_o he_o can_v pray_v at_o night_n because_o it_o do_v not_o agree_v with_o the_o flesh_n the_o body_n be_v weary_a and_o will_v fain_o go_v to_o bed_n and_o he_o can_v go_v to_o church_n to_o hear_v the_o
word_n of_o god_n because_o the_o wind_n blow_v or_o it_o rain_v or_o he_o have_v weary_v himself_o the_o day_n before_o and_o so_o can_v rise_v early_o enough_o or_o it_o be_v a_o great_a way_n and_o the_o way_n be_v bad_a etc._n etc._n yet_o he_o know_v in_o his_o conscience_n that_o if_o there_o be_v but_o a_o good_a bargain_n to_o be_v buy_v or_o some_o worldly_a advantage_n to_o be_v have_v though_o it_o be_v not_o above_o the_o value_n of_o half_a five_o pound_n all_o these_o obstruction_n will_v be_v nothing_o but_o perhaps_o some_o sluggard_n may_v get_v over_o these_o thing_n and_o yet_o if_o there_o lie_v other_o difficulty_n in_o the_o way_n they_o can_v hold_v the_o plough_n of_o the_o gospel_n if_o there_o be_v a_o blast_n of_o persecution_n fear_v he_o know_v not_o how_o to_o encounter_v with_o that_o and_o thus_o the_o sluggard_n discourage_v himself_o viii_o the_o sluggard_n though_o he_o be_v so_o slothful_a as_o to_o hide_v his_o hand_n in_o his_o bosom_n and_o be_v grieve_v to_o bring_v it_o again_o to_o his_o mouth_n yet_o he_o be_v wise_a in_o his_o own_o eye_n 26.16_o prov._n 26.16_o the_o sluggard_n be_v wise_a in_o his_o own_o conceit_n than_o seven_o man_n that_o can_v render_v a_o reason_n viii_o so_o the_o spiritual_a sluggard_n though_o he_o be_v monstrous_a idle_a pray_v as_o if_o he_o pray_v not_o and_z reads_z as_o if_o it_o be_v a_o burden_n to_o he_o and_o hear_v the_o word_n with_o no_o delight_n his_o heart_n be_v asleep_a and_o perhaps_o his_o eye_n too_o yet_o he_o be_v very_o wise_a in_o his_o own_o conceit_n notwithstanding_o he_o be_v such_o a_o poor_a carnal_a worldly_a wretch_n he_o have_v high_a thought_n of_o himself_o and_o cry_v out_o when_o reprove_v i_o know_v as_o much_o as_o you_o mind_n your_o own_o matter_n every_o tub_n shall_v stand_v upon_o its_o own_o bottom_n why_o do_v you_o trouble_v yourself_o with_o i_o thus_o every_o man_n be_v right_a in_o his_o own_o eye_n but_o the_o lord_n yet_o a_o little_a slumber_n yet_o a_o little_a fold_n of_o the_o hand_n to_o sleep_v etc._n etc._n as_o much_o as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v let_v i_o alone_o yet_o a_o little_a i_o will_v sleep_v but_o a_o little_a long_o let_v i_o have_v a_o little_a more_o sleep_n etc._n etc._n ix_o so_o the_o spiritual_a sluggard_n seem_v also_o to_o desire_v but_o a_o little_a time_n to_o gratify_v his_o flesh_n and_o please_v his_o sensual_a appetite_n to_o walk_v in_o way_n of_o vanity_n and_o sin_n against_o god_n i_o will_v say_v a_o ungodly_a person_n repent_v or_o it_o be_v my_o purpose_n to_o reform_v my_o way_n but_o let_v i_o alone_o a_o little_a long_o it_o be_v time_n enough_o yet_o it_o be_v a_o great_a while_n to_o day_n say_v the_o sluggard_n when_o one_o come_v to_o awake_v he_o early_o in_o the_o morning_n so_o say_v the_o sinner_n it_o be_v a_o great_a while_n before_o christ_n will_v come_v or_o before_o old_a age_n and_o death_n will_v come_v in_o his_o heart_n therefore_o he_o be_v resolve_v to_o continue_v in_o his_o evil_n and_o ungodly_a course_n a_o little_a long_o yet_o a_o little_a sleep_n yet_o a_o little_a slumber_n yet_o a_o little_a fold_n of_o the_o hand_n to_o sleep_v pray_v observe_v how_o sweet_a sleep_n seem_v to_o be_v to_o a_o sluggard_n so_o the_o way_n of_o sin_n and_o vanity_n seem_v sweet_a to_o a_o unconverted_a man_n and_o as_o hard_a labour_n be_v grievous_a to_o such_o a_o person_n so_o be_v godliness_n i_o mean_v strict_a and_o real_a godliness_n godliness_n in_o the_o power_n of_o it_o to_o a_o unsanctified_a heart_n
