and_o such_o other_o like_o foppery_n be_v use_v in_o the_o popish_a church_n upon_o this_o false_a ground_n that_o be_v once_o dedicate_v to_o the_o use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n as_o they_o suppose_v it_o must_v needs_o always_o have_v the_o same_o force_n and_o power_n so_o long_o as_o it_o continue_v we_o may_v refer_v it_o to_o the_o judgement_n of_o any_o indifferent_a understand_a man_n to_o judge_v whether_o he_o think_v they_o or_o we_o do_v come_v near_a to_o the_o meaning_n and_o true_a institution_n of_o christ_n we_o be_v sure_a that_o christ_n take_v bread_n and_o command_v we_o so_o to_o do_v to_o take_v the_o bread_n to_o bless_v it_o break_v it_o and_o distribute_v it_o but_o we_o be_v sure_a that_o he_o never_o command_v it_o to_o be_v carry_v about_o for_o any_o such_o superstitious_a use_n as_o they_o do_v i_o do_v not_o doubt_v but_o there_o be_v many_o that_o have_v occasion_n to_o travel_v into_o place_n where_o these_o and_o such_o like_a superstition_n be_v use_v if_o they_o have_v any_o understanding_n or_o any_o taste_n of_o religion_n they_o will_v grow_v into_o a_o great_a hatred_n and_o detestation_n of_o popery_n in_o see_v that_o which_o they_o do_v than_o we_o do_v or_o can_v do_v by_o the_o hear_n of_o these_o thing_n and_o therefore_o if_o any_o shall_v come_v to_o see_v any_o such_o thing_n labour_v to_o be_v fence_v with_o this_o preservative_n let_v we_o know_v the_o sacrament_n be_v excellent_a in_o the_o use_n of_o it_o otherwise_o it_o be_v of_o no_o force_n after_o the_o use_n but_o to_o put_v any_o superstitious_a holiness_n in_o it_o that_o it_o be_v in_o force_n afterward_o we_o have_v no_o warrant_n for_o it_o from_o the_o word_n and_o therefore_o let_v we_o hate_v it_o as_o a_o abominable_a superstition_n use_v 2_o the_o second_o use_n it_o teach_v we_o resolution_n how_o to_o settle_v our_o mind_n concern_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n in_o this_o case_n never_o any_o benefit_n to_o be_v have_v by_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n but_o only_o so_o far_o forth_o as_o we_o partake_v in_o the_o use_n of_o it_o according_a to_o god_n save_v ordinance_n it_o be_v true_a a_o man_n may_v feed_v on_o christ_n by_o faith_n though_o his_o faith_n be_v not_o lift_v up_o by_o such_o help_n as_o the_o sacrament_n be_v but_o if_o thou_o will_v have_v it_o to_o help_v thy_o faith_n thou_o must_v eat_v it_o and_o drink_v it_o he_o that_o look_v to_o have_v any_o benefit_n by_o the_o sacrament_n must_v communicate_v in_o the_o use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n it_o be_v not_o enough_o for_o we_o to_o stand_v by_o and_o look_v on_o and_o for_o other_o to_o do_v it_o but_o we_o must_v do_v it_o for_o ourselves_o it_o be_v true_a indeed_o that_o god_n have_v promise_v a_o blessing_n to_o his_o own_o ordinance_n but_o yet_o with_o this_o condition_n that_o we_o use_v they_o in_o their_o own_o kind_n and_o so_o as_o he_o have_v appoint_v and_o ordain_v they_o but_o if_o we_o apply_v they_o not_o or_o use_v they_o otherwise_o than_o god_n have_v appoint_v he_o be_v free_v of_o his_o promise_n neither_o can_v we_o expect_v any_o blessing_n from_o god_n use_v 3_o the_o three_o use_n it_o minister_v unto_o we_o matter_n of_o exhortation_n it_o teach_v we_o see_v it_o be_v so_o that_o the_o sacrament_n be_v only_o beneficial_a in_o the_o use_n of_o it_o therefore_o let_v we_o labour_n to_o frame_v ourselves_o to_o a_o frequent_a use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n there_o be_v no_o benefit_n without_o the_o use_n of_o it_o by_o the_o use_n of_o it_o there_o be_v much_o benefit_n and_o singular_a profit_n and_o comfort_n as_o the_o assurance_n of_o god_n love_n and_o favour_n assurance_n of_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o reconciliation_n with_o there_o be_v no_o benefit_n and_o by_o the_o use_n of_o it_o much_o benefit_n let_v we_o stir_v up_o ourselves_o to_o use_v it_o frequent_o and_o when_o thou_o come_v to_o it_o see_v thou_o bring_v not_o thy_o mouth_n and_o thy_o body_n and_o hand_n only_o but_o thy_o soul_n thy_o heart_n thy_o faith_n and_o thy_o spiritual_a man_n that_o while_o the_o one_o be_v employ_v in_o the_o bodily_a eat_n of_o bread_n and_o drink_v of_o wine_n the_o other_o may_v be_v employ_v in_o the_o spirirituall_a eat_n of_o the_o body_n and_o drink_v of_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n bring_v the_o whole_a man_n to_o be_v employ_v in_o this_o work_n and_o so_o shall_v thou_o then_o communicate_v in_o the_o whole_a benefit_n of_o the_o sacrament_n always_o provide_v that_o still_o we_o stir_v up_o ourselves_o to_o matter_n of_o action_n in_o the_o use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n that_o we_o stir_v up_o our_o mind_n and_o scules_a to_o a_o actual_a believe_a a_o actual_a discern_a and_o a_o actual_a receive_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o merit_n and_o a_o actual_a apply_v they_o to_o our_o poor_a soul_n then_o shall_v we_o be_v sure_a to_o have_v the_o benefit_n of_o the_o sacrament_n still_o know_v the_o benefit_n and_o nature_n of_o the_o sacrament_n consist_v in_o the_o use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n and_o therefore_o the_o more_o we_o stir_v up_o ourselves_o to_o those_o action_n that_o accompany_v it_o the_o more_o benefit_n we_o shall_v receive_v by_o it_o and_o this_o be_v that_o that_o make_v many_o that_o come_v here_o to_o the_o lord_n table_n and_o that_o be_v make_v partaker_n happy_o of_o the_o nature_n of_o it_o yet_o notwithstanding_o they_o fail_v of_o the_o benefit_n of_o the_o sacrament_n what_o be_v the_o reason_n sure_o the_o fault_n be_v their_o own_o point_n that_o we_o be_v to_o consider_v be_v this_o namely_o that_o whereas_o the_o apostle_n here_o in_o this_o speech_n make_v mention_n of_o the_o outward_a element_n in_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n the_o bread_n and_o the_o wine_n he_o call_v they_o by_o their_o own_o proper_a name_n eat_v this_o bread_n and_o drink_v this_o cup_n that_o be_v this_o wine_n he_o call_v they_o i_o say_v by_o their_o own_o proper_a name_n that_o be_v by_o the_o name_n of_o the_o sign_n not_o by_o the_o name_n of_o the_o thing_n signify_v he_o do_v not_o say_v as_o often_o as_o you_o shall_v eat_v this_o body_n and_o drink_v this_o blood_n but_o as_o often_o as_o you_o eat_v this_o bread_n and_o drink_v this_o cup_n and_o this_o he_o do_v after_o the_o blessing_n and_o consecration_n to_o this_o sacred_a use_n and_o that_o appear_v by_o the_o circumstance_n of_o the_o text_n for_o look_v what_o bread_n our_o saviour_n speak_v of_o in_o the_o former_a word_n that_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o here_o see_v he_o infer_v it_o by_o way_n of_o reason_n now_o that_o which_o christ_n speak_v of_o in_o the_o verse_n go_v before_o be_v bread_n after_o it_o be_v bless_v and_o consecrate_v bread_n in_o the_o use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n and_o so_o the_o apostle_n call_v it_o bread_n still_o and_o so_o likewise_o it_o appear_v plain_o by_o the_o whole_a drift_n of_o this_o part_n of_o the_o chapter_n where_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o the_o bread_n in_o the_o use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n namely_o after_o consecration_n doctr._fw-la 2_o the_o point_n of_o doctrine_n that_o hence_o we_o be_v to_o observe_v be_v this_o namely_o that_o howsoever_o the_o creature_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n use_v in_o the_o sacrament_n be_v consecrate_v by_o the_o institution_n and_o blessing_n of_o god_n to_o a_o spiritual_a and_o sacred_a use_n yet_o they_o be_v not_o thereby_o change_v out_o of_o their_o nature_n and_o substance_n but_o still_o for_o their_o nature_n and_o substance_n they_o continue_v the_o same_o creature_n as_o before_o the_o same_o bread_n and_o the_o same_o wine_n bread_n still_o as_o it_o be_v bread_n
the_o proportion_n between_o the_o sign_n and_o the_o thing_n signify_v require_v as_o much_o what_o be_v signify_v by_o the_o bread_n and_o wine_n the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n and_o they_o have_v a_o active_a power_n and_o virtue_n to_o cherish_v and_o nourish_v our_o fowl_n to_o eternal_a life_n and_o therefore_o the_o bread_n and_o wine_n must_v be_v such_o in_o the_o sacrament_n as_o have_v power_n also_o to_o nourish_v the_o body_n to_o a_o temporal_a life_n but_o if_o only_a the_o show_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n be_v there_o present_a then_o there_o be_v no_o power_n to_o nourish_v for_o it_o be_v the_o substance_n of_o the_o bread_n that_o yield_v power_n by_o the_o blessing_n of_o god_n to_o sustain_v life_n the_o maintenance_n of_o our_o life_n arise_v from_o the_o substance_n of_o our_o food_n and_o therefore_o it_o follow_v that_o as_o the_o outward_a form_n must_v needs_o be_v there_o present_a so_o the_o substance_n of_o the_o bread_n must_v be_v there_o also_o in_o the_o very_a true_a be_v or_o else_o it_o be_v no_o true_a sacrament_n reason_n 3_o the_o last_o reason_n be_v this_o our_o own_o judgement_n our_o own_o eye_n or_o own_o taste_n sense_n and_o natural_a part_n our_o tooth_n and_o stomach_n find_v the_o bread_n and_o wine_n there_o and_o shall_v they_o tell_v we_o that_o it_o be_v not_o there_o when_o we_o see_v feel_v and_o taste_v it_o do_v we_o think_v that_o god_n do_v so_o delude_v we_o as_o oft_o as_o we_o receive_v the_o sacrament_n to_o make_v we_o believe_v that_o there_o be_v bread_n and_o wine_n when_o there_o be_v none_o will_v god_n deceive_v we_o when_o we_o come_v to_o do_v he_o service_n in_o the_o use_n of_o his_o own_o ordinance_n except_o god_n delude_v we_o which_o we_o be_v sure_o he_o can_v nor_o will_v not_o there_o must_v be_v the_o bread_n and_o wine_n there_o present_a and_o sure_o it_o be_v god_n gracious_a purpose_n herein_o to_o lead_v we_o as_o it_o be_v by_o the_o hand_n from_o our_o bodily_a feed_n to_o our_o spiritull_n feed_v that_o while_o our_o body_n feed_v upon_o the_o sign_n and_o find_v and_o feel_v the_o taste_n and_o relish_v and_o comfort_n of_o the_o bread_n and_o wine_n our_o soul_n may_v be_v lift_v up_o by_o faith_n to_o meditate_v of_o the_o thing_n signify_v and_o so_o to_o feed_v upon_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n and_o find_v comfort_n in_o they_o that_o we_o may_v true_o say_v look_v the_o bread_n and_o wine_n comfort_v my_o body_n thus_o thus_o do_v the_o blood_n of_o christ_n comfort_v my_o soul_n and_o by_o faith_n i_o be_o assure_v of_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o my_o sin_n by_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n as_o by_o sense_n i_o feel_v the_o benefit_n of_o those_o outward_a element_n thus_o the_o lord_n vouchsafe_v and_o in_o come_v the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o chirst_n for_o this_o they_o hold_v that_o two_o substance_n can_v be_v in_o one_o place_n together_o and_o therefore_o say_v they_o if_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n come_v in_o than_o the_o other_o substance_n go_v away_o we_o need_v no_o other_o place_n against_o this_o dream_n of_o they_o than_o this_o in_o hand_n that_o the_o apostle_n call_v it_o by_o the_o name_n of_o bread_n after_o consecration_n and_o this_o shall_v teach_v we_o much_o more_o to_o hate_v and_o loathe_v that_o gross_a practice_n of_o they_o in_o adore_v the_o sacrament_n and_o indeed_o it_o come_v from_o this_o transubstantiation_n transubstantiation_n be_v the_o mother_n of_o adoration_n because_o they_o think_v the_o body_n of_o christ_n be_v there_o bodily_a present_n therefore_o they_o adore_v it_o horrible_a idolatry_n the_o apostle_n call_v it_o bread_n and_o they_o make_v it_o their_o god_n and_o therefore_o judge_v you_o whether_o we_o do_v not_o just_o challenge_v the_o papist_n that_o they_o worship_v a_o breaden_a god_n that_o which_o the_o holy_a ghost_n call_v bread_n that_o they_o worship_n as_o god_n and_o therefore_o they_o worship_v a_o breaden_a god_n this_o be_v fearful_a idolatry_n &_o this_o be_v a_o main_a matter_n of_o their_o religion_n a_o idol_n say_v the_o apostle_n be_v nothing_o in_o the_o that_o be_v not_o and_o therefore_o they_o adore_v and_o worship_n that_o which_o be_v not_o true_a it_o be_v that_o christ_n be_v there_o real_o present_a to_o all_o save_a purpose_n in_o the_o use_n of_o the_o bread_n and_o wine_n to_o every_o faithful_a receiver_n and_o it_o be_v the_o comfort_n of_o our_o soul_n that_o he_o be_v present_a by_o the_o power_n of_o his_o spirit_n to_o make_v good_a unto_o the_o faithful_a the_o work_n of_o our_o redemption_n but_o that_o he_o be_v there_o bodily_a present_n we_o have_v no_o warrant_n use_v 2_o the_o last_o use_n teach_v we_o how_o to_o expound_v such_o place_n of_o scripture_n as_o where_o it_o be_v say_v this_o be_v my_o body_n to_o expound_v they_o sacramental_o and_o in_o a_o spiritual_a sense_n this_o be_v my_o body_n in_o a_o sacramental_a and_o spiritual_a sense_n that_o be_v this_o bread_n to_o every_o believer_n that_o partake_v it_o in_o a_o true_a manner_n believe_v in_o i_o and_o be_v raise_v up_o by_o this_o to_o a_o consideration_n of_o the_o break_n of_o christ_n his_o body_n for_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o their_o sin_n and_o so_o find_v the_o benefit_n of_o it_o to_o themselves_o it_o be_v make_v actual_o and_o real_o yet_o spiritual_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n to_o every_o true_a believer_n if_o you_o will_v receive_v it_o this_o be_v elias_n say_v our_o saviour_n what_o therefore_o shall_v the_o apostle_n conclude_v that_o therefore_o john_n baptist_n be_v elias_n that_o his_o body_n be_v turn_v into_o his_o body_n no_o such_o matter_n but_o take_v it_o as_o it_o be_v mean_v this_o be_v elias_n not_o that_o john_n baptist_n be_v elias_n that_o his_o body_n be_v turn_v into_o his_o body_n but_o so_o he_o be_v call_v because_o he_o come_v in_o the_o spirit_n of_o elias_n to_o do_v that_o which_o he_o do_v so_o this_o be_v the_o body_n of_o christ_n not_o that_o the_o bread_n be_v turn_v into_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n nor_o the_o wine_n into_o his_o blood_n but_o if_o you_o will_v receive_v it_o this_o be_v my_o body_n and_o my_o blood_n to_o every_o faithful_a receiver_n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n be_v at_o hand_n to_o make_v good_a unto_o they_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n and_o all_o his_o merit_n the_o same_o spirit_n that_o be_v in_o christ_n when_o he_o perform_v the_o office_n of_o our_o redemption_n be_v in_o and_o at_o the_o sacrament_n to_o make_v christ_n real_o present_a yet_o spiritual_o to_o every_o faithful_a receiver_n by_o the_o power_n merit_n and_o virtue_n of_o his_o body_n and_o blood_n for_o all_o save_a purpose_n as_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o sacrament_n require_v these_o thing_n if_o we_o can_v understand_v they_o and_o set_v our_o heart_n upon_o they_o and_o live_v by_o faith_n we_o shall_v rest_v more_o solid_a in_o serve_v for_o all_o nor_o to_o say_v they_o will_v do_v it_o hereafter_o though_o they_o omit_v it_o now_o but_o as_o often_o as_o they_o do_v the_o one_o they_o must_v do_v the_o other_o as_o often_o other_o time_n as_o that_o sacrament_n be_v institute_v and_o sanctify_v special_o for_o that_o purpose_n next_o it_o be_v say_v so_o oft_o as_o you_o shall_v eat_v etc._n etc._n you_o shall_v show_v where_o you_o see_v the_o holy_a ghost_n press_v it_o upon_o every_o one_o for_o his_o own_o particular_a show_v thereby_o that_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o that_o the_o minister_n show_v forth_o the_o christ_n be_v lord_n how_o shall_v he_o die_v but_o if_o we_o consider_v it_o well_o we_o shall_v find_v that_o it_o be_v a_o sweet_a medley_n that_o the_o apostle_n here_o make_v when_o he_o say_v it_o be_v the_o lord_n death_n christ_n die_v as_o be_v man_n but_o christ_n even_o in_o his_o death_n show_v himself_o to_o be_v the_o lord_n that_o have_v the_o power_n over_o death_n and_o because_o he_o that_o die_v be_v the_o lord_n thence_o it_o come_v that_o his_o death_n be_v beneficial_a unto_o we_o as_o it_o be_v say_v act_v 20.28_o god_n have_v purchase_v his_o church_n with_o his_o own_o blood_n as_o his_o blood_n be_v therefore_o effectual_a for_o the_o purchase_n of_o the_o church_n because_o it_o be_v the_o blood_n of_o he_o who_o be_v man_n be_v god_n also_o last_o and_o for_o our_o good_a so_o long_o as_o we_o need_v they_o we_o shall_v have_v they_o but_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v the_o sacrament_n god_n save_v ordinance_n shall_v utter_o cease_v to_o be_v when_o we_o shall_v have_v no_o further_o use_v of_o they_o so_o much_o for_o the_o meaning_n the_o three_o point_n be_v the_o part_n of_o the_o text_n first_o a_o action_n to_o be_v perform_v in_o come_v how_o long_o be_v it_o to_o continue_v even_o so_o long_o as_o the_o world_n stand_v till_o the_o lord_n come_v to_o judgement_n whosoever_o thou_o be_v thou_o must_v show_v forth_o the_o bread_n say_v they_o because_o it_o be_v bread_n as_o mat._n 11.5_o the_o blind_a receive_v sight_n the_o halt_n go_v mark_v say_v they_o they_o be_v call_v blind_a though_o they_o receive_v their_o sight_n because_o they_o be_v blind_a before_o and_o they_o be_v call_v the_o halt_n because_o they_o be_v so_o before_o though_o they_o go_v now_o so_o this_o be_v call_v bread_n because_o it_o be_v bread_n before_o but_o not_o so_o now_o but_o mere_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n take_v it_o so_o apply_v this_o exposition_n to_o this_o place_n and_o then_o see_v what_o a_o speech_n they_o will_v have_v the_o apostle_n to_o make_v as_o oft_o as_o you_o eat_v this_o bread_n which_o before_o be_v bread_n but_o now_o be_v not_o you_o show_v forth_o the_o lord_n death_n till_o he_o come_v it_o be_v so_o but_o it_o be_v not_o so_o why_o then_o shall_v the_o apostle_n tell_v they_o it_o be_v bread_n the_o comparison_n be_v very_o unlike_a they_o be_v call_v blind_a because_o they_o be_v there_o he_o speak_v of_o himself_o as_o the_o heavenly_a and_o spiritual_a bread_n but_o this_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o here_o be_v of_o the_o bread_n of_o the_o lord_n table_n he_o that_o eat_v of_o that_o bread_n shall_v never_o die_v john_n 6.50_o but_o a_o man_n may_v eat_v of_o this_o bread_n and_o yet_o die_v for_o ever_o as_o verse_n 29._o reason_n 1_o the_o first_o reason_n of_o this_o point_n be_v this_o because_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o sacrament_n require_v it_o so_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o sacrament_n agree_v upon_o on_o our_o side_n and_o on_o they_o must_v consist_v represent_v shall_v be_v present_a and_o not_o the_o outward_a thing_n represent_v it_o it_o be_v no_o true_a sacrament_n or_o if_o the_o outward_a be_v there_o present_a and_o not_o the_o inward_a it_o be_v no_o true_a sacrament_n and_o therefore_o there_o must_v be_v both_o now_o if_o they_o say_v that_o there_o be_v the_o show_n of_o a_o outward_a thing_n and_o that_o that_o will_v serve_v the_o turn_n they_o may_v say_v as_o well_o that_o the_o show_n of_o a_o sacrament_n will_v serve_v the_o turn_n therefore_o when_o they_o say_v only_o the_o show_n of_o bread_n be_v there_o we_o use_n of_o it_o by_o eat_v the_o bread_n and_o drink_v the_o cup._n thence_o we_o note_v that_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n consist_v in_o matter_n of_o action_n and_o use_n then_o again_o we_o note_v in_o the_o second_o place_n that_o whereas_o the_o apostle_n here_o speak_v of_o the_o element_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n as_o they_o be_v in_o use_n in_o the_o sacrament_n he_o call_v they_o by_o their_o ordinary_a name_n the_o bread_n by_o the_o name_n of_o bread_n and_o the_o wine_n by_o the_o name_n of_o cup_n from_o hence_o we_o gather_v this_o doctrine_n that_o even_o after_o the_o word_n of_o consecration_n and_o blessing_n still_o the_o bread_n and_o the_o wine_n for_o their_o nature_n and_o substance_n be_v the_o same_o as_o they_o be_v before_o still_o they_o remain_v bread_n and_o wine_n so_o far_o we_o proceed_v now_o we_o be_v to_o proceed_v further_o three_o than_o we_o be_v here_o to_o consider_v that_o the_o apostle_n here_o speak_v of_o these_o element_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n as_o they_o be_v in_o use_n in_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n he_o set_v they_o forth_o by_o a_o note_n of_o excellency_n this_o bread_n and_o this_o cup_n for_o by_o the_o cup_n be_v mean_v wine_n as_o oft_o as_o you_o eat_v this_o bread_n and_o drink_v this_o cup_n he_o set_v they_o forth_o by_o a_o note_n of_o excellency_n as_o in_o all_o thing_n we_o must_v keep_v a_o mean_a without_o go_v too_o far_o or_o come_v too_o short_a so_o special_o in_o matter_n of_o religion_n we_o must_v be_v sure_a to_o keep_v on_o the_o right_a way_n without_o turn_v either_o to_o the_o right_a hand_n or_o to_o the_o left_a we_o must_v take_v all_o matter_n of_o religion_n in_o that_o very_a precise_a and_o true_a strain_n that_o the_o lord_n that_o the_o bread_n be_v corporal_o the_o very_a body_n of_o christ_n that_o the_o wine_n be_v corporal_o the_o very_a blood_n of_o christ_n on_o the_o other_o side_n other_o there_o be_v that_o not_o think_v too_o high_o of_o they_o and_o so_o err_v on_o the_o right_a hand_n as_o the_o papist_n do_v the_o apostle_n still_o call_v they_o bread_n and_o wine_n show_v that_o in_o the_o nature_n in_o all_o our_o spiritual_a eat_n of_o christ_n and_o drink_v of_o his_o blood_n we_o dwell_v in_o he_o and_o he_o in_o we_o then_o much_o more_o in_o the_o participation_n of_o the_o sacrament_n this_o that_o every_o one_o of_o we_o shall_v so_o fit_v and_o prepare_v ourselves_o when_o we_o come_v to_o the_o lord_n table_n even_o as_o if_o we_o come_v to_o receive_v the_o very_a body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n if_o christ_n shall_v enter_v into_o we_o bodily_a than_o we_o will_v make_v we_o as_o clean_o as_o we_o can_v and_o shall_v we_o not_o much_o more_o when_o he_o come_v to_o enter_v into_o we_o spiritual_o and_o to_o say_v with_o the_o centurion_n lord_n i_o be_o not_o worthy_a that_o thou_o shall_v enter_v under_o my_o roof_n so_o every_o one_o of_o we_o shall_v make_v by_o he_o he_o will_v none_o of_o thou_o but_o our_o answer_n be_v this_o that_o sure_o of_o both_o these_o evil_n it_o be_v best_a that_o such_o a_o one_o forbear_v to_o come_v at_o all_o nay_o i_o to_o remission_n of_o sin_n yet_o it_o be_v so_o far_o forth_o as_o it_o be_v crucify_v and_o his_o blood_n shed_v and_o thus_o we_o be_v to_o conceive_v of_o these_o thing_n now_o we_o come_v to_o lord_n supper_n and_o the_o remember_v or_o the_o show_v forth_o of_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n must_v continue_v among_o the_o faithful_a and_o be_v due_o observe_v by_o they_o to_o the_o very_a end_n of_o the_o world_n that_o be_v direct_o affirm_v here_o as_o you_o see_v i_o show_v you_o that_o there_o be_v another_o thing_n that_o be_v here_o covert_o employ_v and_o yet_o plain_a enough_o if_o we_o consider_v and_o weigh_v the_o word_n aright_o namely_o the_o end_n or_o the_o reach_n which_o the_o performer_n of_o this_o duty_n aim_v at_o or_o which_o we_o must_v aim_v at_o in_o the_o performance_n of_o this_o duty_n namely_o to_o fit_v we_o and_o prepare_v we_o to_o the_o come_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n unto_o judgement_n we_o have_v speak_v of_o the_o former_a part_n already_o now_o as_o god_n shall_v enable_v we_o we_o be_v to_o proceed_v to_o the_o latter_a part_n and_o so_o to_o finish_v up_o this_o scripture_n at_o this_o time_n therefore_o here_o second_o we_o must_v consider_v that_o which_o be_v covert_o employ_v namely_o the_o end_n or_o the_o reach_n that_o these_o action_n or_o these_o duty_n aim_v at_o or_o that_o we_o must_v aim_v at_o in_o the_o performance_n of_o these_o duty_n to_o fit_v we_o and_o prepare_v we_o to_o the_o come_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n unto_o judgement_n that_o the_o doctrine_n that_o hence_o we_o be_v to_o raise_v may_v appear_v to_o be_v build_v upon_o a_o firm_a and_o a_o sure_a ground_n we_o must_v show_v these_o two_o thing_n first_o that_o this_o particle_n that_o here_o be_v use_v till_o have_v the_o same_o use_n in_o the_o same_o sense_n elsewhere_o in_o the_o scripture_n not_o only_o to_o signify_v the_o continuance_n of_o a_o action_n till_o that_o time_n but_o withal_o to_o signify_v that_o that_o continuance_n be_v such_o a_o preparation_n to_o such_o a_o action_n second_o we_o must_v show_v that_o it_o be_v so_o to_o be_v understand_v here_o for_o it_o be_v not_o always_o in_o the_o scripture_n so_o mean_v therefore_o there_o must_v be_v some_o special_a inducement_n allege_v why_o it_o must_v be_v so_o take_v here_o concern_v the_o first_o that_o this_o
