over_o of_o these_o or_o of_o any_o friend_n word_n be_v true_a prayer_n then_o may_v a_o man_n have_v his_o prayer_n by_o rote_n or_o carry_v they_o in_o his_o pocket_n or_o ●●y_v they_o at_o the_o book_n bynder_n shop_n etc_n which_o be_v strange_a to_o imagine_v of_o true_a prayer_n which_o be_v the_o 5._o work_n of_o god_n spirit_n in_o our_o heart_n teach_v and_o enable_v we_o to_o pour_v out_o our_o soul_n unto_o god_n in_o all_o necessity_n and_o occasion_n and_o so_o to_o offer_v up_o spiritual_a sacrifice_n acceptable_a to_o god_n through_o jesus_n christ._n 10._o whenas_o christ_n promise_v that_o our_o heavenly_a father_n will_v give_v the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o they_o that_o 13._o ask_v it_o of_o he_o and_o else_o where_o speak_v of_o the_o destruction_n of_o jerusalem_n 2d_o say_v pray_v that_o your_o slight_n be_v not_o in_o the_o 〈◊〉_d and_o the_o like_a these_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v pray_v for_o a●d_v yet_o these_o word_n not_o set_v down_o in_o that_o form_n of_o prayer_n show_v that_o christ_n have_v not_o tie_v u●_n to_o repeat_v over_o those_o word_n but_o to_o pray_v after_o that_o rule_n according_a to_o our_o want_n and_o occasion_n 11_o the_o word_n be_v so_o general_a as_o unless_o they_o be_v some_o way_n open_v and_o particular_o apply_v divers_a man_n will_v diverse_o understand_v they_o for_o example_n if_o these_o word_n thy_o kingdom_n come_v be_v use_v only_o in_o general_a without_o any_o explication_n the_o papist_n understand_v they_o of_o the_o advauncement_n of_o god_n kingdom_n in_o and_o by_o their_o religion_n the_o protestant_n understand_v and_o intend_v they_o of_o the_o clean_a contrary_n and_o so_o in_o the_o rest_n neither_o can_v any_o man_n for_o himself_o use_v they_o aright_o without_o some_o special_a application_n to_o his_o particular_a estate_n and_o occasion_n because_o no_o one_o man_n faith_n and_o understanding_n can_v atteyne_v unto_o all_o thing_n needful_a for_o all_o occasjoin_n time_n and_o person_n as_o those_o word_n do_v comprehend_v 12._o if_o these_o word_n say_v you_o &c_n &c_n must_v be_v take_v and_o press_v according_a to_o the_o letter_n then_o will_v follow_v that_o in_o prayer_n we_o shall_v always_o speak_v with_o the_o tongue_n whereas_o there_o be_v prayer_n often_o in_o the_o spirit_n alone_o without_o any_o word_n or_o dis●inet_n voice_n at_o all_o as_o we_o
