of_o ourselves_o and_o whether_o all_o those_o effect_n be_v not_o bring_v forth_o by_o the_o work_n of_o christ_n light_n in_o they_o and_o then_o they_o shall_v not_o believe_v only_o because_o of_o our_o word_n nor_o be_v envious_a against_o it_o because_o of_o other_o word_n but_o will_v find_v the_o testimony_n in_o themselves_o which_o be_v according_a to_o the_o record_n which_o god_n have_v give_v of_o his_o son_n and_o according_a to_o the_o testimony_n which_o we_o have_v give_v of_o the_o light_n and_o he_o that_o believe_v shall_v be_v establish_v now_o that_o which_o oppose_v this_o be_v that_o which_o bear_v a_o testimony_n contrary_a to_o christ_n who_o say_v for_o this_o end_n be_v i_o bear_v and_o for_o this_o end_n come_v i_o into_o the_o world_n to_o bear_v witness_n unto_o the_o truth_n and_o every_o one_o that_o be_v of_o the_o truth_n hear_v my_o voice_n ioh._n 18._o 37._o and_o this_o be_v his_o witness_n and_o his_o messenger_n witness_v that_o he_o be_v the_o light_n of_o the_o world_n and_o that_o this_o be_v the_o true_a light_n which_o have_v enlighten_v every_o man_n that_o come_v into_o the_o world_n ioh._n 8._o 12._o ioh._n 1._o 9_o and_o this_o contrary_a testimony_n which_o be_v bring_v forth_o be_v this_o that_o it_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o man_n that_o be_v the_o light_n which_o have_v enlighten_v every_o man_n and_o so_o go_v about_o to_o prove_v the_o spirit_n of_o man_n not_o to_o be_v sufficient_a under_o this_o will_v destroy_v the_o sufficiency_n of_o the_o light_n of_o christ_n but_o the_o scripture_n never_o do_v give_v testimony_n that_o the_o spirit_n of_o man_n be_v the_o light_n of_o the_o world_n neither_o do_v we_o ever_o say_v that_o this_o light_n be_v the_o spirit_n of_o every_o man_n nor_o a_o natural_a light_n and_o therefore_o this_o man_n which_o have_v write_v a_o volume_n in_o prove_v a_o natural_a light_n or_o man_n reason_n insufficient_a let_v all_o people_n take_v notice_n what_o he_o contradict_v or_o disprove_v by_o it_o he_o do_v not_o by_o it_o contradict_v nor_o disprove_v any_o thing_n that_o we_o have_v say_v for_o we_o never_o do_v affirm_v that_o man_n reason_n be_v the_o light_n but_o he_o have_v labour_v to_o contradict_v himself_o he_o have_v set_v up_o a_o image_n and_o then_o glory_v in_o break_v of_o it_o down_o and_o from_o our_o word_n draw_v a_o false_a inference_n and_o glory_n in_o confound_v it_o and_o this_o be_v the_o general_a course_n of_o our_o opposer_n to_o raise_v a_o false_a proposition_n or_o conclusion_n from_o their_o own_o imagination_n and_o then_o contradict_v it_o and_o then_o cry_v the_o quaker_n contradict_v or_o confute_v and_o their_o doctrine_n disprove_v and_o they_o irrecoverable_o slay_v and_o many_o such_o cry_n be_v go_v forth_o in_o the_o world_n among_o people_n like_o the_o noise_n of_o many_o water_n to_o which_o i_o answer_v nay_o they_o be_v not_o of_o such_o a_o birth_n that_o they_o be_v so_o easy_o slay_v nor_o of_o such_o a_o doctrine_n that_o they_o be_v so_o easy_o disprove_v for_o the_o immortal_a birth_n be_v bring_v forth_o unto_o which_o god_n have_v give_v wisdom_n and_o understanding_n to_o be_v as_o wise_a as_o serpent_n and_o in_o their_o innocency_n be_v their_o wisdom_n bring_v forth_o which_o seed_n inherit_v the_o strength_n of_o the_o almighty_a so_o though_o they_o be_v permit_v to_o fight_v and_o contend_v against_o the_o truth_n yet_o to_o prevail_v be_v not_o give_v they_o therefore_o in_o vain_a be_v the_o net_n spread_v in_o the_o sight_n of_o any_o bird_n and_o in_o vain_a do_v they_o exercise_v their_o strength_n against_o the_o lord_n anoint_n for_o this_o which_o they_o have_v bring_v forth_o be_v but_o as_o set_v of_o briar_n and_o thorn_n in_o battle_n against_o the_o lord_n or_o as_o if_o the_o untimely_a birth_n shall_v strive_v against_o that_o birth_n which_o be_v bring_v forth_o without_o deformity_n to_o slay_v it_o as_o those_o in_o former_a age_n who_o be_v wise_a in_o their_o generation_n then_o the_o child_n of_o light_n seek_v to_o slay_v the_o heir_n that_o the_o inheritance_n may_v be_v they_o in_o like_a manner_n do_v man_n now_o also_o rise_v up_o against_o the_o life_n of_o the_o same_o seed_n which_o be_v rise_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o child_n of_o man_n to_o slay_v it_o that_o so_o they_o may_v profess_v the_o scripture_n in_o their_o high_a swell_a word_n of_o vanity_n have_v man_n person_n in_o admiration_n because_o of_o advantage_n for_o if_o this_o seed_n do_v live_v which_o the_o lord_n have_v not_o only_o bring_v to_o the_o birth_n but_o also_o bring_v forth_o it_o will_v stop_v that_o profession_n which_o stand_v in_o the_o hypocrisy_n and_o will_v quench_v that_o violence_n of_o fire_n in_o which_o that_o zeal_n flame_v out_o which_o be_v not_o according_a to_o knowledge_n but_o the_o seed_n be_v rise_v which_o inherit_v the_o strength_n of_o the_o almighty_a which_o can_v bear_v all_o thing_n and_o suffer_v all_o thing_n and_o will_v come_v to_o reign_v over_o all_o gainsayer_n for_o all_o the_o high_a swell_a word_n of_o vanity_n shall_v come_v to_o nought_o and_o truth_n shall_v be_v exalt_v over_o all_o in_o the_o power_n of_o the_o eternal_a spirit_n when_o blackness_n of_o darkness_n will_v cover_v all_o those_o spirit_n which_o have_v spend_v their_o strength_n against_o the_o appearance_n and_o manifestation_n of_o truth_n and_o those_o that_o now_o boast_v themselves_o in_o their_o presumption_n against_o the_o servant_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o testimony_n of_o truth_n shall_v come_v to_o be_v a_o servant_n of_o servant_n even_o to_o the_o least_o in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n before_o they_o have_v right_a unto_o that_o which_o they_o now_o profess_v

come_v by_o hear_v and_o hear_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n then_o how_o be_v it_o that_o he_o be_v not_o the_o word_n of_o faith_n be_v that_o word_n by_o which_o faith_n come_v when_o it_o be_v hear_v and_o he_o be_v the_o author_n of_o it_o may_v he_o not_o then_o as_o well_o be_v call_v the_o word_n of_o it_o as_o the_o author_n of_o it_o see_v he_o be_v the_o word_n by_o which_o it_o or_o a_o measure_n of_o christ_n within_o be_v a_o sure_a word_n of_o prophecy_n or_o a_o more_o sure_a word_n of_o prophecy_n as_o peter_n say_v 2_o pe●._n 1._o 19_o and_o whereas_o many_o be_v offend_v at_o this_o and_o labour_n to_o make_v people_n believe_v that_o this_o be_v the_o writing_n of_o the_o prophet_n which_o be_v the_o more_o sure_a word_n of_o prophecy_n the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o because_o he_o say_v know_v this_o first_o that_o no_o prophecy_n of_o the_o scripture_n be_v of_o any_o private_a interpretation_n for_o the_o prophecy_n come_v not_o in_o old_a time_n by_o the_o will_n of_o man_n but_o holy_a man_n of_o god_n speak_v as_o they_o be_v move_v by_o she_o holy_a ghost_n etc._n etc._n ans._n now_o i_o shall_v make_v it_o appear_v that_o it_o be_v not_o the_o writing_n of_o the_o prophet_n which_o be_v that_o more_o sure_a word_n as_o first_o concerning_o that_o here_o be_v one_o thing_n hold_v out_o to_o be_v a_o sure_a word_n and_o another_o thing_n hold_v out_o to_o be_v more_o sure_a as_o unto_o those_o to_o who_o it_o be_v speak_v and_o as_o concerning_o the_o first_o that_o which_o be_v hold_v out_o to_o be_v a_o sure_a word_n be_v as_o sure_a a_o testimony_n yea_o a_o sure_a than_o the_o prophet_n and_o that_o which_o the_o apostle_n be_v eye-witness_n of_o and_o do_v write_v down_o for_o truth_n be_v as_o much_o ●●_z be_v take_v heed_n unto_o as_o that_o which_o the_o prophet_n declare_v and_o this_o will_n all_o man_n of_o understand_a judge_n that_o the_o apostle_n peter_n do_v not_o direct_v the_o people_n to_o the_o prophet_n word_n to_o take_v heed_n to_o they_o because_o they_o be_v more_o sure_a th●n_n his_o own_o and_o more_o to_o be_v believe_v but_o although_o the_o apostle_n word_n and_o writing_n be_v confirm_v with_o more_o power_n and_o witness_v of_o the_o spirit_n than_o the_o prophet_n and_o both_o true_a yet_o the_o apostle_n ministry_n unto_o those_o which_o do_v not_o see_v those_o thing_n which_o the_o prophet_n see_v muchless_o those_o thing_n the_o apostle_n see_v no_o not_o so_o far_o as_o the_o dawn_n of_o the_o day_n nor_o to_o the_o daystar_n rise_v in_o their_o heart_n therefore_o peter_n divide_v the_o word_n of_o god_n aright_o say_v unto_o they_o we_o have_v a_o more_o sure_a word_n of_o prophecy_n whereunto_o you_o do_v well_o that_o you_o take_v heed_n as_o unto_o a_o light_n that_o shine_v in_o a_o dark_a place_n until_o the_o day_n dawn_n and_o the_o daystar_n aris●_z in_o your_o heart_n 2_o pet._n 1._o 19_o it_o be_v more_o sure_a for_o they_o to_o ●ake_v heed_n unto_o that_o which_o be_v as_o a_o light_n shine_v in_o a_o dark_a place_n till_o the_o daystar_n do_v arise_v and_o the_o day_n dawn_n in_o their_o heart_n than_o the_o declaration_n from_o other_o without_o they_o decla●rd_n in_o word_n and_o writing_n as_o thus_o for_o example_n by_o experience_n to_o such_o i_o shall_v direct_v my_o speech_n who_o canno●_z witness_v the_o day_n vision_n power_n and_o glory_n wherein_o i_o be_o a_o eye_n witness_n of_o his_o glory_n and_o of_o his_o appearance_n this_o i_o may_v declare_v and_o write_v unto_o you_o and_o you_o may_v believe_v it_o but_o to_o such_o i_o say_v it_o be_v more_o sure_a for_o they_o to_o take_v heed_n to_o the_o light_n that_o shine_v in_o the_o dark_a place_n till_o they_o come_v to_o witness_v in_o inform_v your_o understanding_n who_o have_v more_o desir●_n to_o know_v the_o truth_n then_o to_o oppose_v it_o and_o may_v put_v to_o silence_v the_o vain_a dispute_n by_o man_n of_o corrupt_a mind_n who_o be_v destitute_a of_o the_o truth_n always_o corrupt_v the_o word_n of_o truth_n to_o oppose_v the_o life_n of_o it_o as_o many_o such_o there_o be_v in_o these_o day_n which_o the_o lord_n have_v and_o will_v rebuke_v sharp_o that_o they_o may_v be_v asham●d_fw-mi but_o all_o who_o be_v lead_v and_o guide_v by_o the_o light_n of_o christ_n shall_v know_v the_o anoint_n in_o they_o and_o the_o word_n of_o faith_n yea_o the_o son_n of_o god_n he_o that_o can_v receive_v it_o without_o offenc●_z let_v he_o 5._o obj._n but_o he_o that_o have_v oppose_v we_o say_v in_o pag._n 25._o of_o his_o book_n in_o the_o second_o part_n that_o the_o dawn_n of_o the_o day_n be_v rather_o a_o evening_n than_o a_o morning_n ans._n now_o let_v all_o which_o have_v but_o know_v a_o day_n and_o a_o night_n in_o the_o creation_n judge_n whether_o the_o evening_n or_o the_o morning_n be_v the_o dawn_n of_o the_o day_n or_o whether_o the_o daystar_n be_v a_o forerunner_n of_o the_o day_n or_o of_o the_o night_n then_o it_o will_v not_o be_v incredible_a which_o i_o have_v say_v before_o that_o he_o call_v darkness_n light_n and_o light_a darkness_n but_o in_o such_o thing_n our_o opposer_n will_v not_o receive_v a_o good_a report_n from_o those_o which_o can_v give_v true_a judgement_n and_o to_o such_o it_o be_v leave_v to_o judge_v of_o those_o thing_n obj._n again_o he_o say_v in_o pag._n 35._o that_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n be_v not_o a_o comforter_n to_o the_o apostle_n nor_o a_o reprover_n to_o the_o world_n before_o christ_n be_v ascend_v and_o yet_o himself_o to_o contradict_v himself_o say_v that_o he_o be_v in_o they_o before_o and_o dwell_v in_o they_o the_o same_o spirit_n but_o not_o the_o same_o measure_n ans._n here_o be_v babylon_n at_o the_o height_n fit_a to_o be_v pull_v down_o but_o needs_o little_a answer_v see_v that_o i●_z answer_v itself_o and_o for_o such_o reason_n as_o these_o he_o may_v well_o conceal_v his_o name_n and_o if_o he_o can_v have_v put_v this_o off_o by_o hide_v his_o name_n for_o a_o hosanna_n to_o the_o son_n of_o david_n or_o a_o testimony_n to_o the_o lord_n christ_n than_o he_o may_v well_o have_v boast_v
