spirit_n be_v the_o spirit_n of_o understanding_n which_o inspire_v into_o she_o in_o time_n and_o place_n all_o that_o be_v necessary_a for_o to_o lead_v she_o in_o such_o sort_n that_o she_o can_v not_o err_v but_o as_o they_o defend_v this_o bulwark_n assure_v themselves_o to_o defend_v all_o their_o babylon_n so_o be_v it_o also_o as_o certain_a that_o this_o be_v once_o win_v they_o can_v not_o any_o long_o stand_v when_o they_o speak_v of_o the_o church_n in_o this_o matter_n 2._o they_o understand_v proper_o the_o clergy_n represent_v by_o a_o general_a council_n and_o not_o the_o common_a people_n of_o who_o they_o make_v no_o state_n the_o which_o thing_n many_o of_o themselves_o condemn_v as_o repugnant_a to_o holy_a scripture_n notwithstanding_o i_o be_o content_a in_o to_o the_o end_n to_o enlighten_v she_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o darkness_n itself_o but_o when_o she_o tread_v his_o government_n under_o her_o foot_n and_o make_v no_o account_n to_o hearken_v unto_o he_o but_o presume_v to_o be_v wise_a enough_o of_o herself_o to_o govern_v herself_o then_o be_v it_o no_o marvel_v if_o she_o fall_v as_o it_o be_v in_o piece_n and_o lose_v one_o sense_n after_o spirit_n when_o they_o will_v give_v authority_n to_o their_o vain_a tradition_n above_o the_o law_n itself_o and_o that_o under_o the_o shadow_n of_o his_o spirit_n we_o say_v that_o the_o spirit_n and_o the_o word_n be_v inseparable_o join_v and_o knit_v together_o and_o that_o without_o great_a sacrilege_n they_o can_v be_v separate_v forasmuch_o as_o jesus_n christ_n who_o be_v the_o word_n word_n to_o discern_v the_o spirit_n of_o satan_n who_o without_o any_o allowance_n of_o this_o word_n dare_v teach_v false_a doctrine_n in_o the_o church_n the_o church_n than_o be_v lead_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o the_o understanding_n of_o his_o will_n but_o in_o asmuch_o as_o she_o search_v for_o it_o in_o his_o word_n that_o be_v to_o say_v to_o he_o that_o search_v the_o will_n of_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o word_n the_o spirit_n be_v therein_o give_v unto_o he_o for_o a_o interpreter_n but_o to_o those_o that_o make_v no_o account_n of_o the_o text_n there_o need_v no_o interpreter_n and_o therefore_o to_o those_o that_o neglect_v the_o word_n to_o follow_v their_o own_o invention_n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n be_v not_o give_v for_o a_o interpreter_n for_o the_o spirit_n of_o man_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n be_v not_o mingle_v together_o unless_o that_o a_o man_n forsake_v his_o own_o spirit_n and_o his_o own_o fancy_n to_o be_v lead_v and_o conduct_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n to_o all_o those_o therefore_o that_o allege_v the_o lead_v of_o the_o spirit_n without_o the_o word_n we_o will_v answer_v with_o saint_n john_n chrysostome_n that_o which_o follow_v spi_n many_o say_v he_o boast_v of_o the_o spirit_n but_o they_o which_o bring_v their_o own_o pretend_v the_o spirit_n false_o as_o christ_n witness_v that_o he_o speak_v not_o of_o himself_o in_o asmuch_o as_o his_o doctrine_n be_v take_v out_o of_o the_o law_n and_o the_o prophet_n in_o such_o sort_n if_o any_o man_n bring_v unto_o we_o under_o the_o title_n of_o the_o spirit_n gospel_n now_o chrysostome_n have_v in_o hand_n in_o this_o sermon_n to_o extol_v the_o spirit_n for_o there_o he_o teach_v that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n ought_v to_o be_v worship_v as_o the_o true_a god_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o chrysostome_n think_v it_o not_o abase_v to_o the_o spirit_n when_o he_o measure_v it_o according_a to_o the_o gospel_n no_o more_o than_o do_v our_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n when_o he_o measure_v it_o according_a to_o the_o law_n and_o the_o prophet_n they_o object_n unto_o we_o that_o god_o be_v sure_a in_o his_o promise_n and_o that_o therefore_o he_o keep_v the_o covenant_n that_o he_o have_v make_v with_o his_o church_n we_o answer_v that_o in_o very_a deed_n the_o word_n of_o god_o endure_v for_o ever_o but_o in_o all_o these_o say_a covenant_n there_o be_v always_o a_o condition_n if_o you_o keep_v my_o word_n how_o soever_o through_o his_o mercy_n he_o many_o time_n bear_v long_o with_o our_o iniquity_n and_o therefore_o we_o must_v not_o conclude_v god_n be_v sure_a therefore_o the_o church_n can_v err_v but_o much_o rather_o to_o say_v see_v that_o the_o church_n err_v so_o great_o and_o so_o oftentimes_o forsake_v hun_z it_o must_v needs_o be_v that_o god_n be_v sure_a in_o his_o promise_n and_o full_a of_o mercy_n for_o it_o be_v certain_a that_o very_o often_o he_o keep_v his_o covenant_n with_o she_o how_o corrupt_a and_o disease_a soever_o she_o be_v and_o even_o then_o when_o she_o provoke_v he_o to_o a_o divorce_n so_o as_o she_o tread_v the_o contract_v of_o marriage_n under_o her_o foot_n and_o when_o she_o have_v salvation_n for_o that_o they_o go_v out_o of_o the_o way_n of_o salvation_n neither_o can_v they_o beast_n of_o the_o spirit_n for_o god_n bestow_v it_o not_o but_o upon_o his_o sheep_n neither_o wealth_n from_o the_o plague_n and_o not_o from_o the_o city_n be_v ready_a entire_o to_o knit_v and_o join_v ourselves_o again_o when_o antichrist_n &_o the_o evil_a which_o he_o have_v bring_v in_o shall_v be_v take_v away_o and_o in_o wait_v for_o this_o we_o reform_v the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o as_o nigh_o as_o we_o can_v his_o service_n according_a to_o his_o institution_n by_o the_o example_n of_o the_o apostle_n excommunicate_v out_o of_o jerusalem_n which_o yet_o notwithstanding_o be_v not_o to_o
