cleanse_v the_o hand_n comparative_o a_o easy_a thing_n to_o cleanse_v the_o tongue_n and_o to_o have_v that_o pure_a but_o to_o have_v the_o heart_n purify_v there_o be_v the_o great_a stick_n and_o then_o second_o look_v to_o the_o purity_n of_o your_o heart_n for_o they_o have_v certain_o need_v of_o purify_n they_o who_o heart_n be_v still_o in_o their_o first_o natural_a state_n they_o have_v need_v indeed_o and_o they_o who_o be_v in_o a_o spiritual_a state_n have_v need_n of_o daily_a purify_n look_v i_o say_v therefore_o to_o the_o purify_n of_o your_o heart_n for_o they_o have_v need_v to_o be_v purify_v they_o be_v the_o filthy_a part_n of_o we_o if_o there_o be_v impurity_n in_o the_o hand_n there_o be_v much_o more_o in_o the_o heart_n and_o then_o it_o be_v indeed_o a_o vain_a thing_n to_o go_v about_o to_o purify_v the_o hand_n or_o tongue_n or_o life_n if_o the_o heart_n be_v impure_a it_o be_v a_o vain_a thing_n for_o any_o one_o to_o go_v and_o cleanse_v a_o stream_n while_o he_o know_v that_o there_o be_v a_o fountain_n above_o that_o send_v forth_o filthy_a and_o unclean_a and_o poisonous_a water_n it_o be_v just_a so_o in_o this_o case_n till_o the_o heart_n be_v make_v pure_a nothing_o can_v be_v pure_a and_o the_o great_a esteem_n which_o god_n have_v of_o we_o be_v with_o respect_n to_o this_o purity_n of_o heart_n he_o be_v a_o friend_n indeed_o to_o those_o who_o have_v a_o pure_a heart_n he_o have_v a_o great_a respect_n for_o they_o there_o be_v a_o expression_n in_o prov._n 22._o 11._o he_o that_o love_v pureness_n of_o heart_n for_o the_o grace_n of_o his_o lip_n the_o king_n shall_v be_v his_o friend_n mark_v there_o the_o pureness_n of_o heart_n and_o grace_n of_o lip_n by_o grace_n of_o lip_n he_o mean_v not_o only_o graceful_a speech_n but_o gracious_a speech_n now_o grace_n in_o the_o lip_n you_o see_v have_v its_o dependence_n upon_o the_o pureness_n of_o the_o heart_n and_o say_v he_o he_o that_o have_v such_o a_o what_o a_o friend_n he_o will_v be_v to_o those_o that_o appear_v before_o he_o in_o pureness_n of_o heart_n and_o this_o graciousness_n of_o their_o lip_n but_o this_o be_v much_o more_o true_a in_o reference_n to_o the_o king_n of_o heaven_n he_o that_o love_v pureness_n of_o heart_n for_o the_o grace_n of_o of_o his_o lip_n the_o king_n of_o heaven_n shall_v be_v his_o friend_n he_o shall_v be_v accept_v of_o god_n and_o what_o grace_n soever_o that_o be_v gracefulness_n of_o speech_n any_o one_o have_v if_o there_o be_v not_o pureness_n of_o heart_n he_o shall_v have_v no_o favour_n with_o the_o king_n of_o heaven_n what_o ever_o he_o may_v find_v among_o any_o of_o the_o king_n of_o the_o earth_n o_o this_o therefore_o be_v the_o great_a thing_n my_o son_n say_v solomon_n give_v be_v watch_v that_o none_o throw_v dirt_n into_o it_o indeed_o we_o have_v need_n in_o keep_v our_o heart_n to_o watch_v they_o continual_o and_o that_o be_v the_o great_a business_n of_o keep_v our_o heart_n for_o the_o devil_n if_o we_o do_v not_o watch_v our_o heart_n he_o will_v do_v one_o of_o these_o two_o thing_n he_o will_v either_o steal_v away_o our_o heart_n for_o the_o devil_n come_v a_o heart-stealing_a continual_o and_o especial_o when_o you_o be_v at_o a_o sermon_n or_o a_o holy_a duty_n and_o if_o he_o can_v but_o steal_v away_o your_o heart_n he_o care_v not_o how_o many_o body_n there_o be_v here_o or_o he_o will_v be_v throw_v dirt_n into_o your_o heart_n suggest_v wickedness_n he_o will_v throw_v dirt_n into_o the_o inner_a closet_n of_o your_o heart_n by_o his_o temptation_n by_o his_o injection_n therefore_o if_o you_o will_v keep_v your_o heart_n clean_o you_o must_v watch_v they_o ay_o and_o you_o must_v often_o wash_v your_o heart_n if_o you_o will_v keep_v they_o clean_o for_o your_o heart_n will_v contract_v filth_n do_v what_o you_o can_v unless_o they_o be_v daily_o wash_v and_o due_o search_v as_o it_o be_v with_o a_o garden_n let_v a_o garden_n be_v dress_v and_o make_v very_o exact_a so_o that_o there_o be_v not_o any_o thing_n amiss_o not_o a_o weed_n to_o be_v see_v in_o it_o i_o but_o the_o garden_n must_v be_v keep_v thus_o must_v be_v continual_o wash_v we_o must_v go_v daily_o to_o the_o fountain_n open_v for_o sin_n and_o for_o uncleanness_n we_o must_v wash_v our_o heart_n by_o the_o renew_a act_n of_o repentance_n confess_v our_o sin_n bewail_v our_o sin_n mortify_v our_o sin_n this_o be_v a_o great_a work_n for_o we_o if_o you_o have_v pure_a heart_n look_v to_o it_o that_o you_o keep_v they_o pure_a you_o may_v quick_o be_v defile_v david_n a_o man_n that_o have_v a_o pure_a heart_n yet_o get_v so_o much_o defilement_n upon_o his_o heart_n that_o he_o can_v not_o tell_v what_o to_o make_v of_o it_o but_o beg_v of_o god_n to_o create_v he_o a_o new_a heart_n and_o all_o because_o he_o do_v not_o watch_v his_o heart_n but_o give_v way_n to_o temptation_n and_o so_o be_v overtake_v than_o you_o will_v find_v if_o you_o do_v not_o daily_o sweep_v your_o house_n they_o will_v defile_v and_o the_o cobweb_n they_o will_v grow_v the_o spider_n will_v be_v at_o work_n and_o though_o your_o heart_n be_v never_o so_o pure_a spider_n will_v creep_v into_o they_o this_o lust_n and_o that_o corruption_n and_o they_o will_v be_v weave_v their_o web_n there_o o_o what_o sad_a web_n we_o have_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n and_o all_o because_o they_o look_v not_o after_o they_o you_o must_v sweep_v down_o the_o cobweb_n and_o throw_v out_o the_o dirt_n every_o day_n if_o you_o will_v keep_v your_o heart_n clean_o and_o i_o will_v press_v all_o i_o have_v say_v by_o these_o four_o consideration_n look_v to_o it_o that_o you_o have_v pure_a heart_n and_o that_o you_o keep_v your_o heart_n pure_a first_o upon_o this_o consideration_n which_o you_o find_v in_o psal_n 18._o 26._o with_o the_o pure_a thou_o will_v show_v thyself_o pure_a with_o the_o merciful_a thou_o will_v show_v thyself_o merciful_a with_o a_o upright_a man_n thou_o will_v show_v thyself_o upright_o with_o the_o pure_a thou_o will_v show_v thyself_o pure_a ay_o but_o if_o a_o man_n be_v not_o pure_a will_v
