visible_a which_o be_v so_o true_a that_o the_o converse_v presence_n of_o a_o spirit_n be_v call_v a_o vision_n or_o apparition_n and_o experience_n with_o the_o scripture_n will_v show_v we_o that_o not_o only_o evil_a angel_n but_o good_a yea_o god_n himself_o converse_v in_o this_o manner_n with_o man_n and_o all_o this_o i_o suppose_v eve_n know_v second_o i_o suppose_v further_o that_o as_o of_o their_o inward_a nature_n whereby_o it_o be_v know_v as_o by_o a_o habit_n of_o distinction_n so_o it_o seem_v to_o be_v in_o the_o shape_n and_o apparition_n of_o spirit_n and_o as_o in_o a_o well-governed_a commonwealth_n every_o sort_n and_o condition_n of_o man_n be_v know_v by_o some_o differ_a habit_n agreeable_a to_o his_o quality_n so_o it_o seem_v it_o shall_v be_v in_o god_n great_a commonwealth_n concern_v the_o shape_n which_o spirit_n take_v upon_o they_o and_o he_o that_o give_v the_o law_n that_o a_o man_n shall_v not_o wear_v the_o habit_n of_o a_o woman_n nor_o a_o woman_n the_o habit_n of_o a_o man_n because_o that_o as_o he_o have_v make_v they_o diverse_a so_o will_v he_o have_v they_o so_o know_v by_o their_o habit_n so_o it_o seem_v he_o will_v not_o suffer_v a_o good_a and_o a_o bad_a spirit_n a_o noble_a and_o ignoble_a one_o to_o appear_v unto_o man_n after_o the_o same_o fashion_n and_o this_o also_o i_o suppose_v eve_n know_v now_o from_o these_o ground_n it_o will_v follow_v that_o good_a angel_n can_v take_v upon_o they_o no_o other_o shape_n but_o the_o shape_n of_o man_n because_o their_o glorious_a excellency_n be_v resemble_v only_o in_o the_o most_o excellent_a of_o all_o visible_a creature_n the_o shape_n of_o a_o inferior_a creature_n will_v be_v unsuitable_a no_o other_o shape_n become_v those_o who_o be_v call_v the_o son_n of_o god_n but_o his_o only_a who_o be_v create_v after_o god_n own_o image_n and_o yet_o not_o his_o neither_o according_a as_o now_o he_o be_v 5._o but_o according_a as_o he_o be_v before_o his_o fall_n in_o his_o glorious_a beauty_n of_o his_o integrity_n 3._o age_n and_o deformity_n be_v the_o fruit_n of_o sin_n and_o the_o angel_n in_o the_o gospel_n appear_v like_o a_o young_a man_n his_o countenance_n like_o lightning_n and_o his_o raiment_n white_a as_o snow_n as_o it_o be_v resemble_v the_o beauty_n of_o glorify_a body_n in_o immutability_n sublimity_n and_o purity_n hence_o also_o it_o follow_v on_o the_o contrary_a that_o the_o devil_n can_v not_o appear_v in_o humane_a shape_n while_o man_n be_v in_o his_o integrity_n because_o he_o be_v a_o spirit_n fall_v from_o his_o first_o glorious_a perfection_n and_o therefore_o must_v appear_v in_o such_o shape_n which_o may_v argue_v his_o imperfection_n and_o abasement_n which_o be_v the_o shape_n of_o a_o beast_n otherwise_o no_o reason_n can_v be_v give_v why_o he_o shall_v not_o rather_o have_v appear_v unto_o eve_n in_o the_o shape_n of_o a_o woman_n than_o of_o a_o serpent_n for_o so_o he_o may_v have_v gain_v a_o opinion_n with_o her_o both_o of_o more_o excellency_n and_o knowledge_n but_o since_o the_o fall_n of_o man_n the_o case_n be_v alter_v now_o we_o know_v he_o can_v take_v upon_o he_o the_o shape_n of_o man_n and_o no_o wonder_n since_o one_o fall_v star_n
with_o cattle_n and_o beast_n of_o the_o field_n thereby_o account_v the_o serpent_n one_o of_o that_o number_n beside_o satan_n they_o say_v be_v accurse_v before_o this_o time_n and_o some_o of_o the_o word_n in_o this_o curse_n can_v well_o be_v apply_v to_o any_o but_o the_o brute_n serpent_n as_o that_o he_o shall_v eat_v the_o dust_n of_o the_o earth_n etc._n etc._n 2._o other_o will_v have_v this_o curse_v pronounce_v only_o upon_o the_o spiritual_a serpent_n the_o devil_n because_o the_o brute_n serpent_n be_v only_o a_o instrument_n abuse_v by_o the_o devil_n and_o neither_o know_v what_o be_v do_v nor_o can_v do_v withal_o and_o why_o shall_v it_o therefore_o be_v punish_v 3._o other_o will_v divide_v the_o controversy_n apply_v the_o first_o part_n of_o the_o curse_n in_o the_o 14._o verse_n to_o the_o brute_n serpent_n the_o latter_a in_o the_o 15._o vers_fw-la to_o the_o devil_n or_o spiritual_a serpent_n because_o as_o the_o latter_a word_n of_o the_o promise_a
