righteousness_n which_o be_v call_v the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o law_n or_o of_o the_o ten_o commandment_n which_o moses_n teach_v this_o do_v we_o also_o teach_v after_o the_o doctrine_n of_o faith._n there_o be_v yet_o a_o other_o righteousness_n which_o be_v above_o all_o these_o righteousness_n to_o wit_n the_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n or_o christian_a righteousness_n the_o which_o we_o must_v diligent_o discern_v from_o the_o other_o afore_o rehearse_v for_o they_o be_v quite_o contrary_a to_o this_o righteousness_n both_o because_o they_o flow_v out_o of_o the_o law_n of_o other_o good_a thing_n be_v which_o we_o do_v enjoy_v but_o this_o most_o excellent_a righteousness_n of_o faith_n i_o mean_v which_o god_n through_o christ_n without_o work_n impute_v unto_o we_o be_v neither_o political_a nor_o ceremonial_a nor_o the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n law_n nor_o consist_v in_o work_n work_v but_o be_v clean_o contrary_a that_o be_v to_o say_v a_o mere_a passive_a righteousness_n as_o the_o other_o above_o be_v active_a for_o in_o this_o we_o work_v nothing_o we_o render_v nothing_o unto_o god_n but_o only_o we_o receive_v and_o suffer_v a_o other_o to_o work_v in_o we_o that_o be_v to_o say_v god_n there_o â—e_z it_o seem_v good_a unto_o i_o to_o call_v this_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n or_o christian_a righteousness_n the_o passive_a righteousness_n this_o be_v a_o righteousness_n hide_v in_o a_o mystery_n which_o the_o world_n do_v not_o know_v yea_o christian_n themselves_o do_v not_o thorough_o understand_v it_o and_o can_v hardly_o take_v hold_n of_o it_o in_o their_o tentation_n therefore_o it_o must_v be_v diligent_o teach_v and_o continual_o practise_v and_o who_o so_o do_v not_o understand_v or_o apprehend_v this_o righteousness_n in_o affliction_n and_o terror_n of_o conscience_n must_v neade_n be_v overthrow_v for_o there_o be_v no_o comfort_n of_o conscience_n so_o firm_a and_o so_o sure_a as_o this_o passive_a righteousness_n be_v temptation_n but_o man_n weakness_n and_o misery_n be_v so_o great_a that_o in_o the_o terror_n of_o conscience_n &_o danger_n of_o death_n we_o behold_v nothing_o else_o but_o our_o work_n our_o worthiness_n and_o the_o law_n which_o when_o it_o show_v unto_o we_o our_o sin_n by_o and_o by_o cure_n evil_a life_n past_a come_v to_o remembrance_n then_o the_o poor_a sinner_n root_v in_o us._n on_o the_o other_o side_n satan_n abuse_v the_o infirmity_n of_o our_o nature_n do_v increase_v and_o aggravate_v these_o cogitation_n in_o we_o then_o can_v it_o not_o be_v but_o that_o the_o poor_a conscience_n must_v be_v more_o grievous_o trouble_v confound_v and_o terrify_v for_o it_o be_v unpossible_a that_o the_o mind_n of_o man_n of_o itself_o shall_v conceive_v any_o comfort_n or_o look_v up_o unto_o grace_n only_o in_o the_o feel_n and_o horror_n of_o sin_n or_o constant_o reject_v all_o dispute_v and_o reason_v about_o work_n for_o this_o be_v far_o above_o be_v it_o not_o able_a to_o quiet_v a_o trouble_a conscience_n but_o increase_v terror_n and_o drive_v it_o to_o desperation_n for_o by_o the_o law_n sin_n be_v make_v above_o measure_n sinful_a roman_n the_o seven_o and_o thirteen_o verse_n wherefore_o the_o afflict_a and_o trouble_a conscience_n have_v no_o remedy_n against_o desperation_n and_o eternal_a death_n unless_o it_o take_v hold_v christ_n and_o of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n like_a as_o the_o earth_n engender_v not_o rain_n nor_o be_v able_a by_o she_o own_o strength_n labour_n and_o travel_v to_o procure_v the_o same_o but_o receive_v it_o of_o the_o mere_a gift_n of_o god_n from_o above_o so_o this_o heavenly_a righteousness_n be_v give_v we_o of_o god_n without_o our_o work_n or_o deserve_n look_v then_o how_o much_o the_o earth_n of_o itself_o be_v able_a to_o do_v in_o get_v and_o procure_v to_o itself_o seasonable_a shower_n of_o rain_n to_o make_v it_o fruteful_a even_o so_o much_o &_o no_o more_o be_v we_o
