but_o that_o stand_v well_o with_o his_o love_n to_o our_o person_n for_o who_o the_o lord_n love_v he_o chasten_v heb._n 12._o hence_o the_o church_n in_o the_o 7._o of_o micah_n 8._o 9_o 10._o have_v bend_v his_o bow_n and_o have_v make_v ready_a the_o instrument_n of_o death_n the_o time_n come_v wherein_o thou_o shall_v find_v such_o terror_n in_o his_o face_n that_o thou_o shall_v wish_v and_o see_v what_o be_v the_o peace_n here_o speak_v of_o since_o it_o be_v not_o the_o outward_a peace_n as_o we_o have_v say_v and_o yet_o be_v a_o peace_n promise_v to_o the_o saint_n even_o in_o this_o life_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v the_o inward_a peace_n and_o tranquillity_n of_o the_o mind_n which_o they_o enjoy_v here_o understand_v this_o peace_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o such_o a_o state_n of_o the_o mind_n whereby_o it_o be_v so_o dispose_v that_o it_o be_v not_o shake_v either_o with_o prosperity_n or_o adversity_n but_o be_v stay_v on_o god_n have_v rest_n and_o repose_v in_o he_o whatsoever_o fall_v our_o even_o as_o the_o needle_n touch_v with_o the_o load_n stone_n rest_v when_o it_o look_v to_o the_o north_n or_o as_o the_o earth_n or_o water_n rest_n when_o they_o come_v to_o their_o own_o place_n of_o this_o peace_n our_o saviour_n speak_v when_o he_o say_v joh._n 14._o peace_n i_o give_v you_o my_o peace_n i_o leave_v with_o you_o this_o be_v that_o peace_n of_o god_n which_o pass_v understanding_n &_o which_o keep_v our_o heart_n &_o mind_n in_o christ_n jesus_n it_o be_v so_o great_a a_o benefit_n that_o our_o understanding_n be_v not_o able_a to_o comprehend_v it_o it_o keep_v or_o guard_v as_o a_o bulwark_n our_o heart_n &_o mind_n our_o heart_n that_o they_o turn_v not_o away_o from_o righteousness_n or_o pietiâ—_n by_o any_o temptation_n or_o persecution_n our_o mind_n that_o they_o fall_v not_o away_o to_o error_n and_o that_o in_o christ_n jesus_n that_o we_o may_v abide_v in_o he_o and_o be_v more_o and_o more_o join_v to_o he_o it_o make_v we_o fit_a to_o discern_v the_o truth_n for_o it_o clear_v the_o mind_n which_o can_v see_v aright_o when_o the_o eye_n of_o it_o be_v trouble_v it_o give_v joy_n to_o the_o heart_n for_o a_o calm_a and_o peaceable_a mind_n be_v a_o continual_a feast_n it_o raise_v up_o in_o we_o confidence_n and_o magnanimity_n as_o confidence_n be_v get_v peace_n so_o peace_n increase_v this_o confidence_n when_o a_o man_n consider_v that_o he_o be_v at_o one_o with_o god_n have_v he_o to_o be_v his_o friend_n &_o father_n who_o have_v a_o most_o love_a &_o tender_a care_n of_o his_o child_n when_o i_o say_v a_o man_n consider_v weigh_v and_o believe_v this_o he_o commit_v himself_o whole_o to_o god_n that_o he_o will_v guide_v he_o aright_o in_o all_o his_o way_n and_o defend_v he_o against_o all_o his_o enemy_n thus_o you_o see_v what_o the_o peace_n be_v which_o here_o be_v mean_v now_o let_v we_o see_v whence_o it_o be_v thou_o to_o wit_n o_o lord_n say_v the_o prophet_n will_v keep_v etc._n etc._n first_o it_o be_v the_o lord_n alone_o who_o give_v and_o keep_v this_o peace_n in_o we_o it_o hence_o it_o be_v call_v the_o peace_n of_o god_n and_o he_o be_v call_v the_o god_n of_o peace_n to_o proclaim_v war_n or_o peace_n have_v be_v account_v the_o prerogative_n of_o king_n now_o god_n be_v the_o king_n of_o king_n &_o lord_n of_o lord_n and_o therefore_o to_o he_o alone_o belong_v to_o settle_v peace_n especial_o in_o the_o soul_n he_o be_v the_o judge_n and_o therefore_o to_o he_o belong_v to_o pronunce_v this_o sentence_n of_o peace_n if_o a_o man_n be_v arraign_v before_o a_o judge_n his_o mind_n be_v not_o quiet_v though_o all_o the_o stander_n by_o encourage_v he_o and_o bid_v he_o be_v of_o good_a comfort_n till_o he_o hear_v absolution_n out_o of_o the_o mouth_n of_o the_o judge_n so_o god_n be_v the_o supreme_a judge_n of_o the_o world_n
