to_o the_o main_a difficulty_n as_o he_o call_v it_o viz._n the_o find_n of_o water_n sufficient_a to_o make_v a_o universal_a deluge_n which_o after_o some_o time_n shall_v so_o return_v into_o its_o channel_n that_o the_o earth_n shall_v become_v again_o habitable_a both_o which_o he_o say_v be_v as_o easy_o effect_v according_a to_o his_o explication_n set_v down_o before_o by_o i_o as_o they_o rise_v thereupon_o upon_o must_v have_v be_v contain_v either_o in_o the_o chasm_n or_o hollow_a place_n of_o its_o break_a part_n and_o that_o never_o any_o can_v come_v to_o make_v a_o deluge_n on_o the_o high_a part_n of_o the_o earth_n beside_o it_o be_v absolute_o contrary_a to_o moses_n narration_n to_o make_v a_o deluge_n by_o such_o flight_n of_o water_n in_o the_o air_n moses_n tell_v we_o down_o when_o we_o come_v to_o view_v the_o scheme_n he_o have_v give_v in_o his_o book_n we_o find_v that_o contrary_n to_o his_o say_a supposition_n in_o all_o of_o they_o he_o have_v represent_v his_o abysse-orb_n thick_a than_o his_o orb_n of_o earth_n so_o that_o count_v the_o more_o large_a extent_n of_o the_o orb_n of_o earth_n as_o be_v the_o upper_a orb_n and_o the_o thickness_n of_o the_o abyss_n orb_n which_o lie_v under_o it_o we_o may_v judge_v they_o to_o be_v of_o equal_a content_n in_o their_o dimension_n as_o you_o may_v see_v in_o the_o scheme_n before_o give_v you_o and_o i_o believe_v a_o reader_n who_o shall_v peruse_v his_o book_n cursory_o not_o find_v the_o proportion_n of_o his_o two_o orb_n clear_o state_v and_o perhaps_o not_o mind_v the_o supposition_n before_o set_v down_o which_o the_o author_n be_v force_v by_o the_o necessity_n of_o the_o argument_n to_o make_v on_o several_a occasion_n when_o he_o come_v to_o view_v this_o scheme_n of_o he_o in_o their_o content_n of_o equal_a dimension_n and_o we_o shall_v examine_v what_o thereupon_o can_v follow_v in_o order_n to_o a_o deluge_n i_o suppose_v then_o that_o the_o antediluvian_n earth_n contain_v a_o orb_n of_o two_o mile_n deep_a or_o as_o much_o as_o will_v make_v two_o mile_n deep_a if_o it_o be_v couch_v on_o the_o bottom_n of_o the_o abyss_n as_o it_o then_o be_v on_o the_o surface_n of_o it_o and_o that_o the_o orb_n of_o the_o abyss_n contain_v two_o mile_n in_o depth_n likewise_o for_o i_o suppose_v here_o with_o the_o author_n as_o before_o that_o the_o two_o orb_n together_o make_v four_o mile_n in_o height_n this_o be_v suppose_v when_o the_o earth_n break_v and_o make_v a_o deluge_n i_o ask_v what_o become_v of_o the_o two_o mile_n water_n the_o author_n tell_v we_o that_o the_o sea_n contain_v a_o quarter_n of_o a_o mile_n depth_n in_o water_n over_o half_a the_o globe_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o say_v that_o if_o the_o earth_n shall_v disgorge_v all_o the_o water_n it_o have_v beside_o in_o its_o bowel_n it_o will_v not_o make_v half_o a_o ocean_n and_o he_o tell_v we_o again_o and_o again_o that_o all_o the_o water_n of_o the_o abyss_n be_v contain_v in_o the_o sea_n and_o in_o the_o cavern_n of_o the_o earth_n what_o then_o be_v become_v of_o the_o other_o mile_n and_o three_o quatre_n water_n have_v thus_o demonstrative_o refute_v as_o i_o conceive_v the_o author_n whole_a hypothesis_n both_o according_a to_o the_o proportion_n he_o seem_v to_o have_v give_v to_o his_o orb_n in_o his_o scheme_n or_o to_o have_v otherwise_o intimate_v they_o to_o have_v be_v in_o his_o work_n i_o shall_v urge_v the_o matter_n a_o little_a far_o and_o plain_o show_v it_o impossible_a either_o for_o the_o author_n or_o any_o man_n else_o to_o assign_v any_o proportion_n whatsoever_o to_o such_o orb_n that_o a_o deluge_n and_o the_o form_n of_o the_o present_a earth_n shall_v be_v thence_o cause_v suppose_v only_o as_o the_o learned_a general_o do_v that_o the_o sea_n be_v two_o mile_n deep_a in_o its_o deep_a part_n where_o the_o author_n will_v have_v his_o abyss_n to_o end_n on_o the_o first_o sediment_n of_o the_o chaos_n for_o then_o i_o say_v first_o i_o conceive_v man_n will_v general_o agree_v with_o what_o the_o author_n have_v before_o lay_v down_o viz._n that_o there_o be_v in_o nature_n but_o water_n enough_o to_o make_v a_o orb_n of_o a_o quarter_n of_o a_o mile_n depth_n on_o the_o first_o sediment_n of_o the_o chaos_n and_o second_o as_o to_o the_o proportion_n which_o must_v be_v allow_v to_o the_o orb_n of_o earth_n it_o be_v manifest_a to_o we_o that_o since_o it_o be_v two_o mile_n from_o the_o level_n of_o the_o sea_n to_o the_o deep_a part_n of_o it_o and_o since_o it_o be_v all_o earth_n in_o all_o part_n of_o the_o globe_n to_o that_o depth_n except_o what_o the_o water_n in_o the_o sea_n and_o in_o the_o cavern_n of_o the_o earth_n do_v amount_v to_o which_o be_v but_o enough_o to_o
