destitute_a of_o wit_n and_o reason_n thus_o than_o you_o see_v that_o the_o first_o lesson_n which_o we_o must_v learn_v when_o we_o come_v to_o god_n school_n be_v to_o become_v fool_n as_o saint_n paul_n say_v true_o this_o seem_v strange_a too_o we_o but_o yet_o must_v we_o pass_v that_o way_n so_o that_o if_o we_o intend_v to_o be_v teach_v at_o god_n hand_n and_o that_o he_o shall_v play_v the_o schoolmaster_n towards_o we_o we_o must_v become_v fool_n that_o be_v to_o say_v we_o must_v acknowledge_v that_o there_o be_v not_o so_o much_o as_o one_o drop_n of_o reason_n or_o understanding_n in_o we_o but_o that_o we_o be_v more_o destitute_a of_o it_o than_o the_o brute_n beast_n be_v and_o have_v less_o skill_n and_o discretion_n in_o we_o than_o they_o have_v and_o therefore_o let_v we_o learn_v to_o humble_v ourselves_o to_o the_o end_n that_o god_n may_v reach_v we_o his_o hand_n sith_o the_o case_n stand_v so_o what_o must_v we_o do_v now_o first_o let_v we_o understand_v that_o too_o comprehend_v god_n secret_n he_o must_v be_v fain_o too_o give_v we_o his_o holy_a spirit_n and_o to_o enlighten_v our_o darkness_n and_o forsomuch_o as_o we_o be_v so_o far_o too_o seek_v he_o must_v show_v we_o what_o be_v for_o we_o to_o know_v and_o we_o must_v not_o presume_v to_o have_v any_o knowledge_n other_o than_o he_o give_v we_o mark_n that_o for_o one_o point_n but_o we_o must_v also_o consider_v further_o that_o when_o we_o have_v receive_v this_o heavenly_a light_n and_o gift_n of_o understanding_n that_o come_v of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n we_o must_v also_o come_v to_o the_o holy_a scripture_n and_o not_o take_v upon_o we_o too_o search_v further_o of_o god_n work_v and_o judgement_n than_o be_v contain_v there_o then_o let_v we_o content_v ourselves_o with_o the_o knowledge_n that_o god_n show_v and_o teach_v we_o and_o let_v we_o have_v the_o mildness_n to_o say_v well_o lord_n whensoever_o thou_o tell_v we_o what_o thou_o will_v have_v we_o too_o know_v let_v we_o receive_v it_o quiet_o and_o when_o thou_o go_v no_o further_o let_v our_o mind_n stay_v also_o the_o two_o thing_n therefore_o which_o we_o have_v to_o mark_v for_o our_o own_o behoof_n in_o this_o doctrine_n be_v first_o not_o to_o thrust_v forth_o ourselves_o with_o fond_a presumption_n to_o know_v more_o than_o be_v permit_v we_o but_o too_o pray_v god_n for_o our_o welfare_n and_o now_o let_v we_o fall_v down_o before_o the_o face_n of_o our_o good_a god_n with_o acknowledgement_n of_o our_o sin_n pray_v he_o too_o make_v we_o feel_v they_o better_o than_o we_o have_v do_v that_o in_o behold_v his_o judgement_n we_o may_v always_o be_v provoke_v to_o walk_v the_o more_o in_o his_o fear_n and_o that_o when_o we_o have_v profit_v in_o sound_n for_o the_o wicked_a that_o be_v harden_v and_o stubborn_a against_o he_o but_o that_o by_o correct_v our_o vice_n we_o may_v prevent_v his_o judgement_n and_o obtain_v grace_n and_o mercy_n and_o that_o after_o he_o have_v afflict_v we_o in_o this_o world_n he_o may_v give_v we_o the_o rest_n that_o he_o have_v promise_v too_o those_o which_o be_v he_o that_o be_v to_o wit_n that_o be_v deliver_v from_o all_o the_o misery_n which_o we_o have_v to_o endure_v in_o this_o world_n we_o may_v be_v gather_v up_o into_o his_o heavenly_a glory_n to_o be_v make_v partaker_n of_o all_o his_o good_n and_o to_o be_v reform_v to_o his_o image_n in_o true_a perfection_n that_o it_o may_v please_v he_o too_o grant_v this_o grace_n not_o only_o to_o we_o but_o also_o too_o all_o people_n and_o lord_n be_v wisdom_n and_o to_o eschew_v evil_a be_v understanding_n ihave_v declare_v already_o what_o job_n intent_n be_v here_o and_o what_o he_o mean_v by_o the_o word_n wisdom_n his_o intent_n be_v to_o show_v that_o man_n be_v too_o far_o oversee_v when_o they_o will_v comprehend_v all_o god_n secret_n and_o be_v ignorant_a in_o nothing_o and_o that_o we_o may_v know_v what_o the_o word_n wisdom_n mean_v he_o take_v it_o for_o the_o knowledge_n of_o all_o thing_n and_o special_o of_o those_o which_o god_n conceal_v from_o we_o till_o he_o give_v we_o the_o full_a discovery_n of_o the_o thing_n which_o he_o deal_v to_o we_o now_o by_o measure_n according_a as_o he_o know_v to_o be_v for_o our_o profit_n and_o now_o as_o i_o have_v say_v job_n show_v here_o that_o there_o be_v many_o secret_a and_o dark_a thing_n in_o nature_n and_o yet_o man_n attain_v to_o they_o yea_o and_o we_o see_v some_o reason_n of_o they_o so_o far_o forth_o as_o our_o lord_n grant_v we_o for_o to_o that_o point_n must_v we_o always_o come_v back_o furthermore_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o that_o the_o same_o be_v by_o measure_n and_o therewithal_o let_v we_o understand_v that_o our_o reason_n &_o understanding_n extend_v no_o further_o than_o to_o the_o thing_n here_o below_o and_o which_o concern_v the_o present_a life_n but_o if_o we_o will_v mount_v up_o to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n &_o seek_v the_o thing_n that_o pertain_v to_o the_o everlasting_a life_n there_o we_o fail_v and_o be_v utter_o blind_a and_o so_o you_o see_v why_o it_o be_v demand_v here_o where_o wisdom_n shall_v be_v find_v it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v find_v say_v he_o among_o man_n alive_a or_o dead_a true_a it_o be_v that_o many_o may_v take_v upon_o they_o too_o be_v wise_a and_o also_o brag_v that_o they_o carry_v wisdom_n in_o themselves_o but_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o god_n hold_v it_o in_o covert_n and_o even_o they_o which_o be_v depart_v although_o they_o be_v no_o more_o wrap_v in_o this_o mortal_a flesh_n nor_o sot_v in_o this_o world_n do_v
notwithstanding_o not_o comprehend_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v in_o the_o secret_a purpose_n of_o god_n so_o then_o we_o may_v well_o go_v about_o here_o and_o there_o and_o seek_v above_o and_o beneath_o but_o we_o shall_v never_o come_v where_o wisdom_n be_v by_o the_o diligence_n of_o man_n or_o if_o god_n hold_v it_o in_o his_o own_o hand_n again_o if_o a_o man_n intend_v to_o purchase_v it_o by_o riches_n he_o beguile_v himself_o man_n may_v bear_v themselves_o in_o hand_n that_o they_o can_v well_o become_v rich_a by_o their_o own_o travel_n but_o to_o become_v wise_a it_o be_v not_o in_o their_o power_n you_o see_v then_o that_o wisdom_n be_v so_o excellent_a a_o treasure_n that_o a_o man_n can_v find_v a_o equal_a thing_n to_o exchange_v for_o it_o let_v a_o man_n heap_v up_o both_o gold_n and_o silver_n let_v they_o gather_v together_o all_o precious_a stone_n and_o all_o this_o shall_v not_o match_v it_o so_o then_o we_o see_v in_o effect_n that_o job_n mean_v here_o be_v to_o humble_v we_o to_o the_o end_n we_o shall_v not_o think_v ourselves_o able_a too_o comprehend_v god_n secret_n but_o rather_o shall_v willing_o be_v ignorant_a of_o the_o thing_n that_o pass_v our_o capacity_n and_o furthermore_o if_o we_o intend_v too_o know_v what_o be_v meet_v for_o we_o let_v we_o desire_v god_n too_o show_v it_o we_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n for_o too_o that_o point_n must_v we_o come_v by_o the_o way_n also_o let_v we_o come_v too_o the_o conclusion_n that_o be_v set_v down_o here_o that_o god_n have_v all_o wisdom_n in_o himself_o as_o he_o have_v well_o show_v if_o it_o be_v but_o in_o the_o creation_n of_o the_o world_n when_o he_o ordain_v the_o counterpeyse_v both_o of_o the_o wind_n and_o of_o the_o water_n therefore_o like_a as_o only_a god_n have_v all_o wisdom_n in_o himself_o and_o be_v the_o wellspring_n thereof_o so_o also_o have_v he_o ordain_v man_n to_o be_v wise_a by_o fear_v and_o serve_v he_o we_o see_v then_o in_o job_n conclusion_n that_o the_o wisdom_n of_o man_n be_v not_o to_o be_v inquisitive_a too_o know_v all_o thing_n through_o fond_a curiosity_n but_o too_o keep_v themselves_o within_o their_o bound_n and_o to_o know_v that_o it_o behove_v they_o too_o serve_v god_n and_o to_o submit_v themselves_o unto_o he_o that_o be_v the_o true_a wisdom_n and_o there_o must_v man_n hold_v themselves_o as_o it_o be_v bridle_v and_o at_o a_o stay_n thus_o much_o concern_v the_o letter_n of_o this_o sentence_n now_o let_v we_o consider_v how_o we_o may_v profit_v our_o self_n by_o it_o and_o first_o of_o all_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o that_o when_o he_o say_v that_o wisdom_n be_v not_o too_o be_v find_v among_o the_o live_n it_o be_v always_o too_o admonish_v man_n that_o they_o may_v not_o trust_v too_o their_o own_o reason_n nor_o attribute_v so_o sharp_a and_o subtle_a wit_n too_o themselves_o as_o too_o comprehend_v the_o reason_n of_o god_n work_v and_o this_o admonishment_n be_v very_o needful_a consider_v the_o pride_n that_o be_v in_o we_o for_o if_o we_o be_v so_o proud_a and_o presumptuous_a in_o natural_a thing_n much_o more_o do_v we_o overshoot_v ourselves_o in_o other_o thing_n so_o as_o every_o one_o of_o we_o take_v himself_o too_o be_v so_o witty_a as_o nothing_o may_v escape_v he_o and_o we_o contend_v not_o any_o more_o who_o shall_v bear_v the_o bell_n amongst_o we_o or_o who_o shall_v be_v wise_a than_o his_o fellow_n but_o we_o fight_v against_o god_n which_o be_v a_o horrible_a thing_n and_o yet_o we_o be_v so_o mad_a that_o we_o do_v it_o for_o proof_n whereof_o it_o man_n trust_v not_o too_o much_o to_o their_o own_o wit_n we_o shall_v not_o have_v so_o much_o ado_n to_o bring_v the_o world_n in_o order_n for_o both_o great_a and_o small_a do_v mount_v up_o into_o such_o presumption_n as_o there_o be_v very_o few_o that_o yield_v themselves_o pliable_a unto_o god_n too_o suffer_v themselves_o to_o be_v govern_v by_o he_o but_o special_o when_o god_n intend_v to_o teach_v we_o the_o unskilful_a yea_o i_o say_v the_o very_a idiot_n of_o we_o all_o will_v carp_v against_o he_o and_o why_o because_o every_o man_n take_v himself_o to_o be_v wise_a say_v tush_o i_o know_v how_o to_o govern_v myself_o i_o trow_v you_o take_v i_o for_o a_o beast_n behold_v god_n do_v we_o the_o honour_n to_o show_v we_o his_o will_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o we_o can_v abide_v that_o he_o shall_v teach_v we_o see_v then_o that_o man_n can_v abide_v that_o god_n shall_v be_v their_o master_n and_o teacher_n must_v they_o not_o needs_o be_v worse_o than_o mad_a and_o whereof_o come_v this_o but_o of_o the_o say_a overween_n that_o we_o will_v all_o of_o we_o seem_v wise_a and_o therefore_o i_o say_v that_o this_o admonishment_n be_v worthy_a to_o be_v mouth_n mean_v here_o in_o effect_n to_o beat_v down_o all_o the_o loftiness_n that_o be_v in_o we_o when_o we_o imagine_v ourselves_o too_o have_v so_o good_a and_o so_o sharp_a understanding_n that_o we_o can_v comprehend_v all_o thing_n here_o the_o holy_a ghost_n avouch_v that_o man_n beguile_v themselves_o in_o vaunt_v after_o that_o sort_n for_o they_o want_v wisdom_n and_o what_o wisdom_n the_o wisdom_n to_o know_v god_n secret_n for_o as_o it_o have_v be_v say_v we_o may_v well_o have_v some_o understanding_n of_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v here_o beneath_o and_o although_o they_o be_v dark_a yet_o god_n discover_v they_o to_o we_o and_o that_o knowledge_n be_v call_v natural_a because_o we_o see_v all_o man_n partaker_n thereof_o although_o it_o be_v not_o in_o equal_a measure_n but_o when_o the_o case_n concern_v the_o know_v of_o god_n and_o his_o judgement_n there_o all_o man_n reason_n must_v needs_o be_v dazzle_v and_o so_o much_o the_o more_o as_o man_n think_v to_o advance_v themselves_o so_o much_o the_o more_o must_v they_o be_v beat_v down_o and_o confound_v mark_v that_o for_o one_o point_n but_o job_n say_v express_o that_o wisdom_n be_v not_o purchase_v with_o gold_n nor_o silver_n nor_o precious_a stone_n and_o that_o be_v to_o bereave_v man_n of_o all_o their_o vain_a presumption_n for_o if_o a_o man_n be_v rich_a he_o think_v himself_o a_o huge_a and_o marvellous_a man_n and_o utter_o forget_v himself_o because_o he_o be_v esteem_v of_o other_o man_n and_o so_o job_n show_v that_o whatsoever_o excellency_n there_o be_v in_o we_o we_o be_v not_o therefore_o the_o wise_a neither_o must_v we_o ground_v ourselves_o thereupon_o now_o then_o this_o be_v no_o more_o than_o need_v for_o we_o see_v how_o the_o wretched_a world_n be_v beguile_v with_o the_o rich_a man_n &_o man_n of_o great_a estate_n which_o be_v in_o authority_n when_o they_o speak_v any_o thing_n say_v what_o we_o may_v not_o reply_v against_o it_o for_o behold_v such_o a_o one_o say_v it_o man_n be_v forepossess_v with_o such_o a_o estimation_n of_o they_o that_o they_o discern_v no_o further_o if_o it_o be_v a_o rich_a man_n that_o have_v speak_v many_o simple_a folk_n too_o come_v unto_o god_n truth_n and_o too_o frame_v themselves_o thereafter_o but_o because_o they_o look_v upon_o the_o great_a one_o of_o the_o world_n say_v behold_v they_o that_o govern_v all_o behold_v the_o rich_a man_n behold_v all_o the_o noble_a man_n none_o of_o they_o all_o will_v receive_v this_o doctrine_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v a_o token_n that_o it_o be_v nothing_o worth_a and_o that_o it_o be_v doubtful_a and_o not_o for_o we_o to_o meddle_v withal_o we_o see_v how_o rich_fw-fr man_n be_v put_v into_o the_o balance_n so_o as_o man_n think_v that_o wisdom_n be_v as_o it_o be_v tie_v too_o they_o but_o god_n wot_v it_o be_v clean_a contrary_n for_o you_o shall_v often_o see_v the_o rich_fw-fr man_n so_o blind_v with_o vain_a presumption_n that_o their_o riches_n bring_v nothing_o but_o folly_n to_o rock_n man_n asleep_a and_o to_o make_v man_n utter_o brutish_a
as_o much_o be_v to_o be_v say_v of_o great_a estate_n and_o dignity_n a_o man_n of_o mean_a and_o small_a degree_n will_v know_v himself_o and_o gather_v his_o wit_n to_o he_o when_o our_o lord_n give_v he_o discretion_n and_o contrariwise_o he_o that_o be_v high_o advance_v forget_v himself_o and_o be_v blind_v for_o like_a as_o he_o spread_v out_o his_o wing_n in_o imagine_v himself_o too_o be_v more_o than_o he_o be_v so_o our_o lord_n suffer_v all_o his_o reason_n to_o vanish_v away_o and_o he_o to_o become_v as_o a_o idol_n we_o see_v this_o with_o our_o eye_n but_o we_o consider_v it_o not_o wherefore_o let_v we_o weigh_v well_o that_o which_o be_v say_v here_o that_o be_v to_o wit_n that_o wisdom_n be_v not_o purchase_v with_o gold_n or_o silver_n least_o man_n shall_v trust_v too_o much_o to_o the_o thing_n which_o they_o may_v attain_v too_o here_o beneath_o and_o let_v we_o assure_v ourselves_o that_o to_o understand_v god_n secret_n be_v a_o special_a gift_n of_o he_o and_o a_o treasure_n that_o be_v shut_v up_o from_o we_o till_o god_n of_o his_o own_o mere_a goodness_n come_v to_o enlighten_v we_o and_o give_v we_o thereof_o what_o seem_v good_a to_o he_o and_o heerewithall_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o how_o in_o conclusion_n job_n say_v here_o that_o god_n have_v see_v have_v and_o dispose_v wisdom_n from_o the_o creation_n of_o the_o world_n and_o afterward_o have_v say_v to_o man_n behold_v how_o you_o shall_v become_v wise_a that_o be_v to_o say_v by_o fear_v i_o here_o job_n compare_v god_n with_o we_o because_o it_o be_v unpossible_a to_o abate_v or_o tame_v our_o pride_n otherwise_o than_o by_o force_n and_o the_o only_a mean_a of_o that_o be_v by_o bring_v we_o to_o god_n for_o man_n may_v well_o enough_o show_v we_o the_o have_v as_o it_o be_v weigh_v the_o wind_n and_o water_n and_o other_o thing_n true_a it_o be_v as_o i_o have_v say_v that_o the_o philosopher_n have_v well_o conceive_v the_o reason_n of_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v see_v in_o this_o world_n but_o if_o man_n come_v to_o the_o creation_n it_o be_v so_o wonderful_a a_o thing_n as_o they_o must_v needs_o be_v abash_v and_o reverence_v the_o infinite_a wisdom_n of_o god_n and_o confess_v themselves_o unable_a to_o comprehend_v it_o thus_o you_o see_v job_n mean_v in_o this_o sentence_n and_o thereupon_o he_o show_v we_o that_o we_o must_v not_o the_o hundred_o part_n which_o we_o ought_v to_o do_v consider_v that_o the_o disorder_n be_v so_o outrageous_a as_o we_o see_v wherefore_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o this_o sentence_n of_o happy_a we_o be_v deceive_v and_o why_o for_o their_o happiness_n be_v but_o a_o dream_n as_o he_o will_v add_v in_o the_o similitude_n a_o on_o after_o true_a it_o be_v that_o most_o man_n will_v say_v that_o the_o wicked_a be_v unhappy_a but_o what_o for_o that_o we_o overshoot_v ourselves_o for_o if_o we_o see_v a_o man_n live_v easy_o or_o in_o honour_n although_o his_o life_n be_v not_o rule_v according_a too_o god_n word_n yet_o notwithstanding_o we_o be_v ravish_v at_o it_o we_o think_v his_o state_n to_o be_v as_o good_a as_o can_v be_v wish_v and_o every_o man_n will_v spite_v he_o yea_o but_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o we_o know_v not_o that_o such_o as_o be_v so_o advance_v be_v but_o snail_n as_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o psalm_n and_o it_o be_v a_o comparison_n well_o worthy_a to_o be_v note_v for_o david_n say_v that_o such_o as_o be_v advance_v in_o this_o world_n and_o have_v no_o lively_a root_n settle_v in_o god_n be_v as_o snail_n they_o come_v creep_v up_o in_o one_o night_n and_o vanish_v away_o out_o of_o hand_n behold_v here_o snail_n for_o all_o porridge_n but_o we_o have_v no_o consideration_n of_o that_o we_o leave_v the_o principal_a point_n which_o be_v to_o look_v unto_o the_o end_n we_o have_v not_o the_o patience_n to_o say_v well_o god_n advance_v who_o he_o will_v but_o that_o be_v to_o break_v the_o neck_n of_o they_o with_o a_o great_a and_o â—owler_a fall_n we_o can_v good_a skill_n of_o the_o wheel_n of_o fortune_n but_o we_o can_v refer_v all_o thing_n to_o god_n providence_n to_o behold_v his_o work_n and_o yield_v he_o all_o praise_n so_o much_o the_o more_o therefore_o have_v we_o need_v to_o mark_v well_o this_o sentence_n that_o ever_o since_o god_n do_v set_v man_n upon_o the_o earth_n it_o have_v be_v find_v by_o continual_a experience_n that_o the_o highness_n of_o hypocrite_n be_v of_o late_a time_n and_o that_o their_o joy_n shall_v endure_v for_o ever_o when_o sophar_n say_v that_o this_o thing_n be_v too_o be_v know_v by_o long_a experience_n and_o that_o it_o have_v be_v so_o ever_o since_o god_n create_v the_o world_n it_o be_v a_o say_n of_o great_a weight_n for_o if_o we_o see_v but_o two_o or_o three_o example_n of_o god_n justice_n ought_v we_o not_o too_o be_v touch_v enough_o but_o here_o be_v much_o more_o it_o be_v not_o in_o three_o or_o four_o person_n only_o that_o god_n show_v that_o he_o will_v not_o leave_v the_o wicked_a unpunished_a he_o show_v it_o every_o day_n he_o have_v show_v it_o before_o we_o be_v bear_v and_o if_o we_o pursue_v from_o age_n too_o age_n since_o the_o creation_n of_o the_o world_n we_o shall_v see_v that_o god_n have_v always_o keep_v the_o same_o rate_n see_v then_o that_o we_o have_v such_o example_n and_o so_o great_a and_o of_o so_o long_a continuance_n that_o god_n have_v always_o show_v himself_o a_o judger_n of_o the_o wicked_a man_n prosperity_n and_o make_v all_o thing_n to_o turn_v too_o their_o confusion_n and_o decay_v be_v it_o reason_n that_o we_o shall_v yet_o still_o doubt_n of_o it_o wherefore_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o this_o say_n how_o it_o import_v much_o truth_n that_o be_v to_o say_v that_o at_o all_o time_n since_o man_n dwell_v upon_o the_o earth_n it_o have_v be_v god_n will_n that_o there_o shall_v always_o be_v some_o record_n of_o his_o judgement_n and_o therefore_o that_o we_o must_v not_o yea_o and_o death_n itself_o and_o why_o because_o we_o shall_v have_v god_n for_o our_o protector_n and_o defender_n and_o so_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o that_o whereas_o the_o wicked_a perceive_v not_o their_o own_o misery_n it_o be_v too_o throw_v they_o down_o the_o rather_o and_o forasmuch_o as_o they_o mind_v not_o to_o call_v upon_o god_n but_o contrariwise_o bear_v themselves_o in_o hand_n that_o they_o have_v no_o need_n of_o he_o their_o destruction_n must_v needs_o fall_v upon_o they_o before_o they_o think_v of_o it_o furthermore_o he_o say_v immediate_o that_o fearfulness_n or_o terror_n shall_v not_o go_v a_o inch_n from_o they_o thus_o the_o wicked_a have_v a_o double_a mischief_n which_o be_v that_o the_o sword_n shall_v run_v they_o through_o as_o soon_o as_o it_o be_v draw_v out_o of_o the_o scabbard_n and_o beside_o that_o god_n shall_v never_o suffer_v they_o to_o be_v at_o rest_n but_o although_o the_o danger_n be_v pass_v yet_o shall_v they_o tremble_v for_o fear_v still_o and_o whereat_o even_o at_o the_o shake_n of_o a_o leaf_n of_o a_o tree_n as_o it_o be_v say_v and_o they_o shall_v think_v that_o death_n have_v already_o catch_v they_o when_o deadly_a stroke_n whereof_o they_o may_v never_o be_v heal_v mark_v that_o for_o one_o point_n another_o be_v that_o when_o we_o see_v the_o wicked_a in_o fear_n we_o must_v understand_v that_o there_o be_v but_o only_o one_o mean_a to_o be_v in_o rest_n which_o be_v to_o know_v that_o we_o be_v under_o god_n protection_n therefore_o let_v that_o suffice_v we_o for_o although_o it_o behoove_v we_o to_o walk_v in_o fear_n before_o he_o yet_o shall_v we_o always_o be_v sure_a of_o his_o goodness_n whereas_o the_o wicked_a and_o the_o despiser_n of_o his_o majesty_n shall_v always_o be_v so_o afraid_a as_o they_o shall_v never_o have_v any_o rest_n therefore_o let_v we_o learn_v too_o retire_v to_o our_o god_n with_o all_o lowliness_n and_o too_o live_v with_o our_o neighbour_n without_o do_v any_o man_n wrong_v lest_o the_o same_o measure_n be_v moten_z to_o we_o again_o and_o when_o we_o go_v so_o too_o work_v sure_o god_n will_v make_v we_o to_o feel_v his_o goodness_n and_o deliver_v we_o from_o all_o the_o danger_n terror_n &_o dismaying_n that_o can_v happen_v to_o us._n now_o let_v we_o fall_v down_o before_o the_o face_n of_o our_o good_a god_n with_o acknowledgement_n of_o our_o fault_n pray_v he_o to_o make_v we_o feel_v they_o and_o be_v sorry_a for_o they_o and_o too_o consider_v better_a the_o judgement_n that_o he_o show_v we_o that_o we_o may_v daily_o more_o and_o more_o be_v instruct_v to_o withdraw_v ourselves_o from_o the_o transitory_a thing_n of_o this_o world_n which_o be_v wont_v to_o blind_a man_n as_o though_o all_o their_o felicity_n consist_v in_o they_o and_o rather_o that_o we_o may_v attain_v the_o wisdom_n and_o skill_n to_o know_v that_o god_n draw_v we_o to_o he_o by_o the_o trouble_n that_o we_o see_v here_o below_a and_o that_o if_o it_o please_v he_o to_o exercise_v we_o with_o affliction_n we_o may_v think_v it_o be_v to_o provoke_v we_o to_o seek_v he_o and_o on_o the_o other_o side_n that_o if_o he_o and_o wicked_a opinion_n for_o it_o become_v we_o to_o be_v inflame_v with_o such_o a_o stoutness_n as_o be_v show_v we_o here_o in_o the_o person_n of_o job._n then_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o that_o when_o the_o doctrine_n of_o salvation_n and_o the_o thing_n that_o belong_v to_o god_n service_n and_o religion_n do_v come_v in_o question_n we_o must_v not_o only_o admit_v that_o which_o we_o know_v to_o be_v good_a and_o true_a yea_o even_o with_o a_o teachable_a and_o obedient_a mind_n but_o also_o we_o must_v shun_v all_o false_a opinion_n that_o be_v contrary_a too_o the_o truth_n behove_v we_o to_o have_v open_a war_n with_o they_o and_o in_o no_o wise_a to_o agree_v with_o they_o for_o as_o for_o they_o that_o be_v desirous_a to_o pleasure_v the_o wicked_a and_o will_v fain_o they_o but_o this_o fearfulness_n shall_v be_v secret_a for_o outward_o they_o set_v a_o good_a countenance_n upon_o the_o matter_n and_o also_o they_o know_v not_o themselves_o but_o be_v dull_v in_o god_n and_o without_o advance_v himself_o against_o his_o righteousness_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v a_o point_n well_o worthy_a to_o be_v mark_v for_o it_o will_v be_v find_v that_o there_o be_v reward_n that_o be_v promise_v too_o all_o the_o faithful_a after_o their_o manful_a fight_n he_o can_v not_o attain_v to_o that_o because_o he_o be_v forepossess_v with_o his_o grief_n and_o as_o it_o be_v trouble_v and_o utter_o over_o whelm_v you_o see_v then_o that_o job_n confess_v right_o in_o general_a that_o god_n have_v prepare_v a_o everlasting_a heritage_n that_o can_v fail_v for_o those_o that_o be_v he_o and_o that_o the_o wicked_a also_o can_v escape_v his_o hand_n but_o although_o they_o triumph_n in_o this_o world_n and_o take_v their_o pleasure_n here_o yet_o they_o shall_v pay_v very_o dear_a for_o it_o job_n know_v all_o these_o thing_n in_o general_a but_o when_o he_o mean_v to_o apply_v the_o doctrine_n to_o himself_o he_o can_v not_o bring_v it_o to_o pass_v because_o his_o heart_n be_v distress_v and_o he_o storm_v too_o much_o when_o he_o be_v at_o that_o afterdeele_n he_o gaze_v here_o &_o there_o &_o can_v not_o see_v three_o foot_n afore_o he_o without_o dazzle_v of_o his_o eye_n his_o wit_n be_v after_o a_o sort_n bereave_v he_o that_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o he_o can_v not_o comfort_v himself_o with_o the_o hope_n of_o the_o rest_n that_o wind_n abroad_o then_o man_n be_v fain_o too_o keep_v within_o door_n therefore_o it_o be_v like_a as_o if_o a_o man_n shall_v assemble_v his_o household_n and_o say_v to_o they_o i_o will_v know_v come_v abroad_o be_v because_o he_o give_v they_o leave_v howbeit_o that_o he_o can_v hold_v they_o shut_v up_o at_o his_o pleasure_n sith_o we_o see_v this_o let_v we_o learn_v too_o yield_v obedience_n unto_o god_n at_o all_o time_n for_o if_o we_o acknowledge_v not_o the_o subjection_n that_o we_o own_o unto_o god_n but_o when_o it_o thunder_v we_o shall_v have_v profit_v but_o teach_v we_o for_o wherefore_o do_v the_o lion_n bear_n wolf_n and_o all_o other_o wild_a beast_n keep_v themselves_o in_o their_o cave_n and_o den_n but_o because_o god_n show_v himself_o too_o be_v superior_a over_o they_o therefore_o if_o we_o will_v needs_o run_v astray_o and_o not_o suffer_v god_n too_o hold_v we_o as_o it_o be_v shut_v up_o under_o his_o hand_n but_o will_v shake_v off_o the_o signet_n or_o seal_n that_o be_v speak_v of_o here_o the_o beast_n shall_v condemn_v we_o by_o their_o example_n behold_v yet_o further_o what_o we_o have_v too_o bear_v in_o mind_n that_o we_o may_v the_o better_a profit_n ourselves_o by_o the_o whole_a sentence_n the_o hebrew_n word_n that_fw-mi eliu_fw-mi use_v here_o signify_v proper_o too_o seal_v as_o when_o man_n seal_v a_o letter_n too_o the_o end_n it_o shall_v not_o be_v look_v into_o also_o a_o man_n may_v seal_v a_o cofer_z or_o a_o cupboard_n by_o set_v a_o seal_n upon_o it_o when_o he_o will_v not_o have_v any_o body_n to_o look_v into_o it_o god_n then_o use_v a_o dreadful_a kind_n of_o seal_v when_o he_o send_v thunder_n and_o tempest_n here_o be_v no_o print_n of_o wax_n with_o a_o ring_n or_o other_o material_a seal_n but_o he_o compel_v man_n too_o keep_v themselves_o as_o it_o be_v shut_v up_o so_o as_o they_o be_v after_o a_o sort_n close_a prisoner_n in_o their_o own_o house_n it_o be_v not_o with_o their_o own_o good_a wit_n and_o therefore_o let_v they_o consider_v that_o there_o be_v a_o master_n above_o they_o and_o that_o no_o part_n of_o their_o whole_a life_n be_v in_o their_o own_o hand_n thus_o you_o see_v how_o this_o similitude_n be_v set_v down_o here_o too_o the_o end_n we_o shall_v compare_v the_o incomprehensible_a majesty_n of_o god_n with_o all_o the_o thing_n that_o we_o can_v see_v among_o the_o worldly_a creature_n and_o it_o be_v say_v immediate_o that_o god_n make_v the_o tempest_n to_o come_v out_o of_o the_o beape_n of_o cloud_n and_o again_o that_o it_o be_v the_o scatter_a wind_n or_o the_o northwind_n that_o cause_v the_o cold_a too_o come_v these_o change_n here_o do_v set_v forth_o god_n mighty_a power_n the_o better_a to_o the_o end_n he_o shall_v be_v glorify_v thereby_o true_o if_o god_n keep_v always_o one_o ordinary_a rate_n so_o as_o there_o be_v never_o great_a heat_n nor_o great_a cold_a nor_o any_o wind_n or_o rain_n but_o that_o the_o whereunto_o our_o good_a god_n call_v we_o which_o shall_v be_v at_o such_o time_n as_o we_o be_v transform_v into_o his_o glory_n now_o let_v we_o fall_v down_o before_o the_o face_n of_o our_o good_a god_n with_o acknowledgement_n of_o our_o fault_n pray_v he_o to_o make_v we_o feel_v they_o better_o than_o we_o have_v do_v and_o general_o also_o to_o bewray_v our_o want_n to_o the_o intent_n to_o deface_v we_o utter_o and_o to_o make_v we_o seek_v our_o whole_a welfare_n in_o he_o and_o therewithal_o to_o apply_v we_o to_o his_o service_n that_o he_o may_v be_v exalt_v more_o put_v to_o the_o build_n of_o a_o heaven_n at_o which_o side_n will_v we_o begin_v nay_o if_o it_o be_v but_o the_o make_n of_o the_o body_n of_o some_o one_o star_n or_o planet_n can_v we_o bring_v it_o too_o pass_v now_o there_o be_v a_o great_a number_n of_o star_n and_o therewithal_o great_a diversity_n in_o they_o &_o moreover_o great_a distinction_n and_o distance_n betwixt_o they_o yea_o and_o the_o planet_n be_v place_v in_o such_o order_n as_o that_o the_o moon_n be_v near_a unto_o we_o the_o sun_n far_o above_o that_o and_o other_o planet_n yet_o far_o above_o the_o sun_n and_o sky_n let_v we_o acknowledge_v that_o he_o have_v wrought_v above_o our_o capacity_n yea_o even_o in_o such_o wise_a as_o it_o be_v great_a wisdom_n in_o we_o to_o of_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v see_v with_o our_o eye_n that_o be_v to_o say_v to_o know_v the_o reason_n of_o they_o and_o to_o refer_v they_o to_o a_o right_a end_n now_o it_o follow_v not_o by_o and_o by_o that_o because_o we_o have_v a_o thing_n in_o estimation_n therefore_o we_o be_v able_a to_o do_v it_o ourselves_o if_o we_o look_v upon_o a_o singular_a piece_n of_o work_n we_o shall_v be_v constrain_v to_o commend_v he_o
