before_o his_o face_n it_o be_v not_o so_o with_o pond_n pool_n and_o cistern_n they_o will_v be_v foul_a and_o stink_n if_o they_o be_v not_o often_o empty_v and_o fill_v again_o with_o fresh_a as_o death_n and_o hell_n have_v do_v with_o wisdom_n hear_v the_o fame_n thereof_o with_o their_o ear_n 2_o it_o be_v a_o dangerous_a thing_n for_o a_o man_n to_o have_v the_o notion_n of_o grace_n while_o his_o heart_n be_v yoid_v of_o the_o spirit_n and_o holy_a principle_n of_o grace_n for_o such_o a_o man_n can_v do_v no_o other_o than_o abuse_v the_o grace_n of_o god._n alas_o what_o can_v be_v expect_v of_o he_o that_o have_v nothing_o in_o he_o to_o teach_v he_o to_o manage_v that_o knowledge_n of_o grace_n which_o he_o have_v but_o his_o flesh_n his_o lust_n and_o lustful_a passion_n can_v these_o teach_v he_o to_o manage_v his_o knowledge_n well_o will_v they_o not_o rather_o put_v he_o upon_o all_o trick_n evasion_n irreligious_a consequence_n and_o conclusion_n such_o as_o will_v serve_v to_o cherish_v sin_n what_o judas_n do_v with_o christ_n that_o a_o graceless_a man_n will_v do_v with_o grace_n even_o make_v it_o a_o stalk_a horse_n to_o his_o fleshly_a and_o vile_a design_n and_o rather_o than_o fail_v betray_v both_o it_o and_o the_o profession_n of_o it_o to_o the_o great_a enemy_n it_o have_v in_o the_o world._n and_o here_o i_o may_v say_v though_o grace_n be_v pure_a and_o not_o hurtful_a at_o all_o yet_o one_o altogether_o carnal_a sinful_a and_o graceless_a have_v to_o do_v with_o the_o doctrine_n of_o it_o by_o the_o force_n of_o his_o lust_n which_o tamper_n with_o it_o he_o will_v unavoidable_o bring_v himself_o into_o the_o high_a ruin_n thereby_o a_o unwary_a man_n may_v destroy_v himself_o by_o the_o best_a of_o thing_n not_o because_o there_o be_v in_o such_o thing_n a_o aptness_n to_o destroy_v but_o because_o of_o the_o abuse_n and_o misuse_v of_o they_o some_o know_v the_o way_n of_o life_n 22._o the_o water_n of_o life_n by_o knowledge_n that_o be_v naked_a and_o speculative_a only_o and_o it_o have_v be_v better_a for_o such_o if_o they_o have_v not_o know_v than_o to_o know_v and_o turn_v from_o what_o they_o know_v then_o to_o know_v and_o make_v that_o knowledge_n subservient_fw-fr to_o their_o lusts._n some_o receive_v the_o rain_n of_o god_n and_o the_o dropping_n o_o his_o cloud_n because_o they_o continual_o sit_v under_o the_o mean_n of_o his_o grace_n but_o alas_o they_o receive_v it_o as_o stone_n receive_v shower_n or_o as_o dunghill_n receive_v the_o rain_n they_o either_o abide_v as_o hard_a stone_n still_o or_o else_o return_v nothing_o to_o heaven_n for_o his_o mercy_n but_o as_o the_o dunghill_n do_v a_o company_n of_o stink_a fume_n these_o be_v they_o that_o drink_v in_o the_o rain_n that_o come_v often_o upon_o they_o and_o that_o instead_o of_o bring_v forth_o herb_n meet_v for_o the_o dresser_n bring_v forth_o briar_n and_o thorn_n and_o 8._o these_o be_v they_o who_o be_v nigh_o unto_o curse_v who_o end_n be_v to_o be_v burn_v four_o by_o this_o word_n pure_a i_o understand_v sometime_o the_o chief_a good_a the_o high_a good_a there_o be_v many_o thing_n that_o serviceable_a to_o man_n but_o they_o be_v not_o so_o good_a as_o grace_n there_o be_v a_o generation_n 12._o that_o be_v pure_a that_o be_v good_a in_o their_o own_o eye_n there_o be_v good_a man_n good_a conscience_n good_a work_n good_a day_n good_a angel_n etc._n etc._n but_o none_o so_o good_a as_o grace_n for_o it_o be_v grace_n that_o have_v make_v they_o so_o grace_n this_o water_n of_o life_n therefore_o be_v good_a superlative_o good_a good_a in_o the_o high_a degree_n for_o that_o it_o make_v all_o thing_n good_a and_o preserve_v they_o good_a and_o whatever_o it_o be_v that_o this_o water_n of_o life_n wash_v not_o it_o be_v evil_a and_o give_v to_o the_o curse_n as_o the_o prophet_n intimate_v where_o he_o say_v but_o the_o miry_a 11._o place_n thereof_o and_o the_o marsh_n thereof_o shall_v not_o be_v heal_v they_o shall_v be_v give_v to_o salt_n but_o who_o understand_v this_o who_o believe_v it_o it_o be_v goodness_n be_v keep_v close_o from_o the_o fowl_n as_o be_v temporal_a that_o which_o be_v spiritual_a be_v desire_v only_o of_o they_o that_o be_v spiritual_a for_o temporal_a good_a will_v satisfy_v a_o carnal_a mind_n now_o grace_n be_v a_o spiritual_a good_a this_o river_n of_o grace_n be_v the_o goodness_n of_o spiritual_a good_a it_o be_v the_o original_a life_n of_o all_o the_o grace_n in_o our_o soul_n no_o marvel_v then_o if_o it_o be_v so_o little_o set_v by_o of_o those_o that_o be_v carnal_o mind_v hay_o will_v serve_v a_o horse_n and_o mire_n will_v serve_v a_o sow_n so_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n suit_n best_o with_o the_o man_n of_o this_o world_n for_o their_o appetite_n be_v gross_a and_o carnal_a and_o they_o savour_v not_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god._n the_o natural_a man_n receive_v
